Hi ladies, thanks Indom for the suggestion of me starting a new thread. Seeing as Zach and myself have been knocking about on antenatal since November it will be lovely to have you all joining us shortly in the baby, rather than pregnancy conversations! Bring on the March babies!!!!

There's defo still time for a leaping or two today I'd say. Just don't feel like one will be me. Although I do labour very quickly - though according to the midwife on Saturday, 3rd babies tend to take a bit longer than 2nd babies Hmm I was in the delivery room less than 20 minutes (and about the same from waters breaking) before dd2 was born so kinda hoping she may be right. Otherwise, I'd rather wait till tomorrow when I'm induced as I really really don't fancy a home/ car birth! Ha

maybebabybee · 29/02/2016 07:46

No baby here either! Am only 38+6 but getting really quite fed up now not being able to move around properly. Sad

Also desperately worried I won't lose the baby weight. I've gained nearly 4st. Genuinely don't know where it's gone other than bump and boobs but it's a lot to get rid of!

Woodenmouse · 29/02/2016 08:17

It doesn't look like im having a leap baby I've still got tiny twinges but nothing major. I'm dragging dh and ds out for a walk after breakfast. I hope that will shift him! He's due tomorrow and I really don't want to be overdue, especially as ds1 has a hospital appointment on Thursday!!

docmcstuffins1 · 29/02/2016 08:40

No leapling here either. Not even having any twinges. 39+3 today so still time. Think it may be a while before I get to meet my little boy Sad

sherazade · 29/02/2016 08:51

Was contracting painfully and regularly 12am till 2am and then it tapered off and fell asleep. I timed them and they were bang on a minute long and three min apart then stopped. SadSadSad
Am so happy my sis arrives tonight I'll feel so much better having a professional to talk me through my pain as it's quite scary some time . She's got her Sonic aid and gloves ready anyway!

MrsBenWyatt · 29/02/2016 10:10

Poor you, Sher the false starts are so tiring.

Rhu of your pre-op is less than a week before section, they should do the bloods then. If it's more than a week away, they do
The bloods closer to the time (that's why I had mine done today).

Baby is super low today, can feel cervix burning, which is unpleasant! Now I have had my last check, it is all feeling very real. DD and DS are so excited!!!

Less than 48 hours until I will be waiting in the hospital for my section Shock

magpiedreams · 29/02/2016 10:10

SOMEONE has to have a leap baby, please! Not me though, still not quite cooked at 36weeks. I do have a feeling I won't be going the distance to 40w but don't even have my bag packed yet (tomorrow's job).

Have had a dreadful headache for the last 2 days despite paracetamol. Even checked my bp on a home monitor a few times but it's normal so that's reassuring. Have come to work on what should be my first day of mat leave to finish off loose ends but totally can't be bothered and am being very inefficient indeed. Going to do what I can do in the next hour and anything else will have to be left!

hayleycookie · 29/02/2016 10:18

You're dedicated Magpie! I would do the same as you, and anything not done in an hour will have to just wait! Get out and enjoy your leave!

Sorry for everyone experiencing the stop-start false alarms. I'm only 38+4 and I'm on the watch every single second and it's so tiring! Every time I stand up I think my waters could break (even though I know it's very VERY unlikely without any contractions first). DS was 2 weeks late even after very good signs that he was ready to come at any minute, so I'm pretty sure I'm in this for another 3 weeks yet. Agh!

Also if the second labour is meant to be half the time of the first, then my second will be about 20 hours long.... bleurgh!

There's a mum at nursery who is due 30th March, but is going to be induced at 38 weeks if she doesn't have him by then. I'm due 10th March and pretty sure she's going to have hers first. Unreasonably grumpy about this Envy

Hope everyone is having a good morning so far!

BeautifulLiar · 29/02/2016 10:50

Misdee my third was quicker than my second! Half the labour time would be nice and quick. Surely time of labour is only counted aa active labour though? I probably had an hour max of that!!

Madmamma39 · 29/02/2016 11:18

My booking in MW said third labours are always slower... Everyone else has said no way! First labour was 4 hours start to finish and second (16 years later!) was 2 hours so hoping it won't be an hour as not sure the MW will get here (or anyone for that matter!)

I am chilling on my first day of mat leave... Took DS to preschool (10 min walk up a very steep hill!) and now in so much pain will be driving to collect him!

Was hoping for a leapling but not likely!

Hope everyone is resting today where possible...

vroc81 · 29/02/2016 11:38

No leapling here either, a distinct lack of any signs in fact so think I might be in for the long haul? Although my mum did tell me the other night she never had and signs or even contractions with me and my sister just a period pain and then a need to push... Knowing her low pain threshold these days it wasn't just her ignoring them either Wink so fingers crossed that runs in the family?!

Sort of first day of leave... Tidied up and going out for lunch with a friend on mat leave.. Have to pop into work myself tmrw and Wednesday for a couple of meetings I said I'd do if I could though so still don't feel properly finished...

QforCucumber · 29/02/2016 12:33

Wow just had a crazy realisation when someone asked me when I'm due - my response - NEXT WEEK! Shock I am so not ready for this.

maybebabybee · 29/02/2016 12:40

One of the NCT girls had her baby at the weekend, 3 weeks early. Am green with envy!! She hadn't started her maternity leave yet so I think it took her totally by surprise.

I have no idea if my baby has actually dropped or not - I feel him pushing quite low down but also he still feels jammed in my ribs! I don't have a very long body though.

Like beaut I had a diy cervix feel and couldn't even find it so it must be very high still!

MyNameIsSuz · 29/02/2016 12:57

Q I had that same realisation this morning - I'm due NEXT THURSDAY!!!

hayleycookie · 29/02/2016 13:31

Haha great minds think alike! Just had 3 mums ask me at nursery when I'm due... ''Next week!'' Then the old ''ooh if you last that long. You look like you're about to burst!'' Still pretty sure I'm going to go overdue and be induced. I've got a sweep Monday but I don't hope much hope for it doing anything.

How does everyone feel about sharing our coping ''techniques''? Might be useful for us to have some ideas to practice and keep us occupied while we wait? I only have two I can think of at the top of my head:

  1. Imagining writing the alphabet, letter by letter, in the sand, then imagining the sea washing each letter away. You have to really imagine how the sand would feel, how it would look etc. The more detail the better! You can do it with a blackboard too but the sand works better for me.

  2. Lowering your chin to your chest and 'J' breathing. Breathe really deep and slow and imagine the breath drawing a 'J' as it goes down, and curls up at the bottom

Anyone have anything that helps them relax/cope?

Me624 · 29/02/2016 13:33

I am due this week! Friday. But I don't think it will happen. Like hayley I have a girl in my NCT group who is having a section at 38 weeks and I think she said its next Tuesday, I am very jealous that she will probably have her baby before I have mine!

I have had diorrhea this morning (sorry TMI). It's ridiculous that I am slightly excited about this in case it means the start of something, but in the absence of any other symptoms whatsoever I don't think it does!

maybebabybee · 29/02/2016 13:38

I've had "loose" bowels more or less every day for about 2 weeks. When it first happened I was excited, now I just think it's my body taking the piss out of me Hmm

TriJo · 29/02/2016 13:40

Definitely no leapling here - I'm not due for another 20 days and little man is extremely comfortable where he is!

Got my hair cut this morning, good to get that out of the way :)

TheMshipIsBack · 29/02/2016 13:42

magpie it might be me Grin - heavy contractions started an hour ago and I'm just waiting to see the timings before we phone in. Way more painful than my false alarm last week, have already needed co-codamol. If the half time thing is true, baby will be here early evening. Fingers crossed!

hayleycookie · 29/02/2016 13:51

Ahh how exciting Magpie! Second time lucky aye! I hope they whack up in intensity for you and you get your baby this evening. Fingers very firmly crossed for you!!

Meand Maybe I had the same last week, followed by a couple of days of constant braxton hicks. Got so excited but body is definitely just winding me up now Angry So hard not to read into everything isn't it.

magpiedreams · 29/02/2016 13:57

Yay Mship! Keep us posted. I can't remember if you had said whether you'd be happy or not with a leaping? Hope it's a positive for you. Hang in there, needing co-codamol already sounds like the real deal.

maybe and me I'm definitely on the looser side bowel-wise last few days too, not sure what that is all about.

hayley I know, it's just because I ended up on sick leave last week with the flu situation. I did 2 more hours then walked out with a smile on my face Grin

RhubarbAndMustard · 29/02/2016 14:21

How exciting Mship. Will be regularly checking in for your updates!

Thanks MrsB. Midwife confirmed what you said about the blood tests, so should have mine on weds. I hope you don't mind but I'll be following your updates with interest too as it will be a guide to what I can expect.

MyNameIsSuz · 29/02/2016 14:25

Ooh mship how exciting! Hope this is it!

QforCucumber · 29/02/2016 14:33
