Hi ladies, thanks Indom for the suggestion of me starting a new thread. Seeing as Zach and myself have been knocking about on antenatal since November it will be lovely to have you all joining us shortly in the baby, rather than pregnancy conversations! Bring on the March babies!!!!

Aw MrsB, that sounds amazing! I'm only ever so slightly incredibly jealous.

Crossing my fingers now for all those hoping for a leap baby, and my legs for the opposite reason!

Woodenmouse · 28/02/2016 09:42

mrsB that sounds amazing!!

IndomitabIe · 28/02/2016 12:09

Ooh, that sounds lush, MrsB!

I'm posting out of a tiny bit of boredom and a huge amount of procrastination! Yesterday I finally de-moulded the buggy (it's been in the garage for about 4 years), and we've finally strapped the snuzpod to the bed. Dug the old baby rocker chair (it used to vibrate too but I think that function's kaput) out and need to build that. And then I think (apart from getting the clothes out, but they're here & clean in vac bags) that's everything.

DMum's got a granny bag packed and on standby to come down and look after DS!

And I've managed to clean 60% of the bathrooms. So far. Should do more of the domestic stuff really. But it's lunchtime!

Trinpy · 28/02/2016 14:32

Sorry too see the CSC had another busy night last night. I've noticed a pattern that Saturday nights seem to be the worse for sleep on this thread - not sure if I can summon up the energy to think that might be though! Dh has finally given up trying to share a bed with his heavily pregnant wife and has set himself up in the spare bed until the baby arrives, so I've been free to happily starfish the last few nights. Complete bliss! I hope you can all get a bit of rest today.

Charley I hope you didn't have a quick labour with your dd if your dh is that far away?

Suz I hope your ds feels better soon. Cleaning up middle-of-the-night vomit is never a fun task, glad you didn't have to deal with it.

MrsBen your spa weekend sounds amazing. Wish I'd thought of doing that!

You're much more organised than me Indom. I've wrote a to do list for every week on the calendar up until the week before my due date and every weeks list just gets longer and longer as I fail to do the previous week's tasks Blush. Not sure how much 60% of the bathrooms is in your house so I don't know how impressed I should be about that (if you live in a mansion then I'm very impressed).

Any babies looking like they might want to be born tomorrow?

Trinpy · 28/02/2016 14:33

I've wrote? Obviously meant to say I wrote Blush

QforCucumber · 28/02/2016 14:39

Sounds like a wonderful relaxing time mrsb

Finally got back to sleep at about 5 am until just before 9 so don't feel too bad today. Been to local retail park for a bit of shopping, shattered again now. Can't wait to be able to walk again without aching haha.

indom what a day for you, housework here is waiting until I can be bothered (probably tomorrow) food takes priority - I like your style!

Had a double shot caramel coffee while shopping earlier which kick started baby up again so I think you're right suz once your mind starts wondering then there's no stopping it. Been a right wriggler since so would appear all is fine, happy for it to pop out anytime now though - so over being pregnant.

RhubarbAndMustard · 28/02/2016 16:06

Ha I wondered about the 60% of bathrooms comment from Indom too Trinpy. Imagining a vast house with at least 10 bathrooms Grin

MyNameIsSuz · 28/02/2016 16:40

Another one wondering just how many bathrooms indomitable has! I've sort of been productive, but the place is a tip as I need dh to do things and he's wafting about all ill. He's built the cot (yay) but it's currently taking up most of the hallway (boo) as he needs to shift the bed over to fit it into our room. I've already moved my bedside table and my floordrobe though ready for him to do his bits, I will miss them!

Feeling quite tired and achey now, determined not to go into labour - not only for the leap day but all these sick people would cause me problems! Crossing everything ds is well enough for the childminder on Tuesday, tomorrow is already a no-go I think.

MrsBenWyatt · 28/02/2016 17:21

Also wondering about Indom's bathrooms Grin

Had a MN April 13 meet-up this afternoon. It was fab! Nice long walk in the bracing cold!

While I was out, DH has had a huge sort out, even to the extent of hoovering the under-stairs cupboards! We are pretty much organised now, which is impressive as we didn't start until Tuesday!

At the hospital for 9am tomorrow for my final set of bloods. 3 days to go!!!

IndomitabIe · 28/02/2016 17:48

Ha! we have 3 bathrooms (it's a new build, so 3 bathrooms but nowhere to put a wardrobe! Hmm). Hate cleaning them, but I do appreciate their existence! (I cleaned 2 of the 3. Unless we count all the places that DS and the cat wee, in which case we have a lot more!)

Today did turn out very productive domestically, (after ignoring the place for the whole of half term) but the list of stuff I've got to do for work is insane. The only way I can cope with it is to not think about it and cream off one priority at a time (whilst adding many to the bottom of the list). In terms of baby prep, I'd much rather do that than work! And have been conscious I probably won't have much pre-baby leave so I better have it all ready ASAP. And I think (bar the buggy wheels) we're there.

Grin @ your 'floordrobe' Suz! I thought when I was a real grown up we'd grow out of that kind of thing. Instead we've just added DS's floordrobe to the mix!

I wish I was as organised as MrsBen's DH! (Our understairs cupboard is known as 'The cupboard of doom'!)

CharleytheFrenchPoodle · 28/02/2016 18:32

trinpy my first labour was 8 hours, this one is expected to be quicker Shock We have had many words about today as you can imagine Wink Keeping my legs crossed...although the game has now gone to extra time- not impressed!
Jealous of your 3 bathrooms Indomitable, although not jealous of you having to clean them all!
3 days left Mrs- how exciting!

Me624 · 28/02/2016 19:15

Well still no signs of labour here so I don't think I'm going to get my leap year baby!

Impressed by all the cleaning and nesting that's going on! I seem to be missing the nesting hormone, all that I want to do is lay around watching TV. Did get out for a short walk with DH today but otherwise I've had a very lazy one and got nothing planned for tomorrow either!

vroc81 · 28/02/2016 20:20

MrsBen the spa sounds amazing glad you enjoyed it, and getting your understairs cupboard tidied too.. I just shove things in ours and hope the door doesn't fall off again!

Well done to everyone whose been cleaning and nesting this weekend, I confess to having done very little..Oh well there's always tomorrow!

marmiteandcheeseplease · 28/02/2016 22:32

No sign of labour here so guessing I've avoided a leap year baby too! I really feel like baby is not going to come anytime soon. 39 weeks on Tuesday, suddenly feels very surreal the idea of having a baby in the next few weeks! I also had a sudden mini panic about giving birth this evening - god I am not looking forward to labour!

Have had a nice but knackering weekend with my sister and nephews. Was really nice watching DD and my nephew playing happily together as the age gap between them is pretty much the same as with DD and baby.

Got a home birth support group meeting to go to tomorrow, think I might ask if they know the situation with staffing at my local hospital as I'm increasingly pessimistic that I will get a home birth or even a birth at my local hospital!

Last night I slept on a double duvet folded up rather than a single one, the double one is 12.5 tog and I had the best nights sleep in ages! Can def recommend for those of you struggling to get comfy at night.

So whose next to have their baby? Will we get a leap year baby do you think?

Trinpy · 28/02/2016 23:01

Just because there's no sign of labour yet doesn't mean one (or more) of you won't be getting a leap year baby tomorrow! I'll be checking in in the morning to see there's any progress Wink.

A home birth support group sounds interesting marmite. How did you find them?

Charley I read somewhere (can't remember where now) that second labours tend to take around half the time of your first - so just as well you didn't go into labour today Shock. I really hope that thats true though. I had an 8 hour labour last time too and I definitely like the sound of a speedy 4 hour labour this time round!

Mrsben thats lovely that your mn antenatal group is still in touch. I was in the April '14 group but it all moved over to fb once everyone had had their babies so I lost touch with them. I hope this group sticks around on mn for a little bit longer - I'd miss chatting to you all!

I've been feeling guilty for not being able to be as active with ds recently so Ive been parenting like crazy today in an effort to make it up to him. As a result the house is now a complete tip and I badly need to clean it before the mw comes round tomorrow to discuss birth plan (and to drop off my birthing kit!!!). I'm obviously missing the nesting instinct you all have because I just can't be arsed Blush. Might just have to do the shoving-everything-in-a-cupboard trick...

IndomitabIe · 28/02/2016 23:15

Thanks for the duvet review marmite, I might have to try that.

I like the sound of labour #2 being half the time of labour #1. Means I'm looking at around 6 hours. That's fine by me!

I didn't think of it as nesting, but I suppose it could be. I need to make a huge effort to keep on top of it now, lest my DMum drive all the way down to find a pigsty. And then the visits from the midwife and the rest of the fam & friends. Shock

Woodenmouse · 28/02/2016 23:26

I've been getting quite strong regular pains all evening and now they've calmed down again!! I'm starting to think my boy will never come!!

Trinpy · 29/02/2016 03:38

Come on baby woodenmouse, we need a leap year baby!

And yes I'm in the CSC tonight. I woke up 45 mins ago with the most awful heartburn I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing. 15mins of sweating, retching awfulness, urgh. Now its starting to calm down I'm too awake to sleep!

Missdee2014 · 29/02/2016 06:21

MrsB your spa sounds amazing! Just a tad jealous.

It would seem I'm destined to have my 3rd induction. I really would have liked to have gone into labour naturally for once. I decided to go with the sweep on Saturday (initially was unsure) as the doctor examined me and said my cervix was already 1-2cm dilated and very soft and thin therefore favourable and a good chance it would be enough to do the trick. She even said if need be should would have been able to break my waters there n then! However, not to b as I'm still here without a baby. Have had loads of niggles, contractions and a good bowel clear out since Saturday but nothing major or significant to indicate baby's imminent arrival. Would quite have liked a wee leap baby as wel Smile So it looks like an 8.30 hospital induction for me tomorrow unless something major happens today and I get my leap baby Grin

MrsBenWyatt · 29/02/2016 06:21

Just checking in to see if there are any signs of leap year babies Grin

BeautifulLiar · 29/02/2016 06:37

I don't think I'm having a leapling either! Aww, would've been unique :)

Had huge anxieties about the induction/giving birth/having a baby/said baby affecting mine and DH's relationship recently. It has taken all the excitement away! :(

IndomitabIe · 29/02/2016 06:54

Ahh, no overnight babies?

I've woken up nearly crippled! My pelvis is often a bit dodgy on one side (sacroiliac joints) but this morning it was both! Took me a good few minutes to get mobile!

I think I've walked it off. That'll teach me to actually attempt to clean the house!

There's still time Missdee & Beaut!

MyNameIsSuz · 29/02/2016 07:01

We could definitely still have a leapling in the group! If the half the time thing is true then I'll be about six hours, so could still happen today.

indomitable, my manic clean is for exactly the same reasons! We never have space for people to stay but there will be lots of people round at a time when I won't be in a great position to do any cleaning, so needs to be kept in a reasonable condition. The night I went into labour with ds, dh had left the washing up til the morning and there was loads of it. I was worrying about it in the hospital and when dh had to go home I made him promise he'd do it when he got there, which was the last thing he wanted to do!

Now that I've got the cot built the baby could probably come at any time, and I've got a backache quite low down which could be an early sign, but now I've made an effort to be ready I bet it'll be two weeks over and an Easter baby!

RhubarbAndMustard · 29/02/2016 07:10

Hmm don't think it will be a leapling for me. Even at half the time, I'd still be looking at a 15 hour labour!

Seeing the midwife today for the last time pre baby and have tea and scones planned with a friend this pm. Loving mat leave so far Grin.

MrsB you mentioned having bloods taken this week- I don't have any booked in, just my pre op meeting on weds. Wondering if I should have. Hope yours go ok this morning.

marmiteandcheeseplease · 29/02/2016 07:12

suz I feel the same - before I had everything ready for baby I was convinced she would come early, now all is ready I'm sure she's going to be two weeks late!

No sign of baby here and if the 'labour is half the time the second time round' thing is true then I'll be in labour 24 hours so very unlikely I'll have a leap baby!

trinpy my yoga teacher told me about the home birth support group, and there's a Facebook page I joined for my area. I think they mostly work on word of mouth though so you could try googling to see if there is one in your area?
