Hi ladies, thanks Indom for the suggestion of me starting a new thread. Seeing as Zach and myself have been knocking about on antenatal since November it will be lovely to have you all joining us shortly in the baby, rather than pregnancy conversations! Bring on the March babies!!!!

Good luck for your sweep today missdee, even though you must be worried it's exciting that you'll have your baby in a few days.

Trinpy poor you, my DH can get quite dramatic about work sometimes too and usually I shrug it off and he calms down but it really is not what you need at the moment!

Good idea to get deep cleans booked Beaut and MrsBen. DH and I have a cleaner anyway and he did suggest that we might want to give her up while I'm on maternity leave ... I said absolutely not Grin

RhubarbAndMustard · 27/02/2016 06:53

Oh Miss. Good luck with the sweep today. Hopefully you'll be meeting your little boy soon.

Trinpy that sounds very stressful for you and your DH. My DP has been out of work for a while now and that's been hard enough. Am dreading my salary dropping to SMP in 6 weeks. Try to get him to hold on if he can.

Also very jealous of all the cleaners being booked. I'm trying to do as much as I can (and directing DP to do his bit) but one Hoover and my pelvis is in agony. I'm just going to tell visitors to take us as they find us (and help themselves to the cleaning cupboard!)

Beaut I wouldn't even know where to start checking my own Cervix!

Ffaux and others- am a bit worried that I haven't checked for GBS, but I read that the result can keep changing right up to the birth. I didn't check with DS either but now a bit concerned. Confused.

MyNameIsSuz · 27/02/2016 06:56

I'm not getting many movements and I've worried myself. Just had a glass of juice and lying down and still nothing Confused how are everyone else's movements?

Me624 · 27/02/2016 07:11

Suz I was up a few times in the night and was beginning to get concerned as I hadn't felt anything. But since I've been up properly this morning (last 30 mins or so) he's been kicking away. Give it another half hour or so and if still nothing give the hospital a ring.

MrsBenWyatt · 27/02/2016 07:21

Good luck for today, Miss.

Suz if after 30 minutes I hadn't felt anything, I'd be giving triage a ring. Hope you have felt something by now?

Spa day today! Couldn't have come at a better time as I got approximately 1 hour of sleep last night! Thanks DS and DD!

marmiteandcheeseplease · 27/02/2016 07:31

suz you could try to drink some cold water whilst led down as well? Hope baby moves soon and puts your mind at rest...

My baby is still very active early AM, lunchtime and evening-bed time, but i have had days where shes been quiet in the morning so could just be a one off suz?

Baby still seems to have a lot of room, DD was the same and was still moving loads in the middle of labour. I'm still paranoid baby is breech after GP this week but really can't see what I can do about it at this point but wait till labour/41 week appt, whichever comes first Confused

I also feel like I'm in for the long haul. Baby very comfortable in there, def not engaged, and has loads of room. Will be 39 weeks on Tuesday. DP was horny last night and tried it on at 11pm I was like erm no haha, so we might try over the weekend. After the ridiculous attempt this week to have sex I was going to say to him no more sex now and to do other stuff, but actually may try to have sex to try to kick start labour!

missdee sorry you are anxious/stressed, hope your sweep goes OK.

trinpy that sounds incredibly stressful, hope things get sorted at work/ your DH can find another job without losing/jacking in the one he's got. Flowers

MyNameIsSuz · 27/02/2016 07:38

Thanks everyone, I've had some movements now but they're quite gentle, not big kicks or anything. I just don't know when to worry! Last time I was worried about this and called the midwives they made me feel really silly, I don't want to waste anyone's time. And it is moving now.

RhubarbAndMustard · 27/02/2016 08:08

Suz glad to hear baby is moving now. Mine definitely has long periods of none movement that panic me but then he starts off again. Lack of space is definitely making movements less pronounced for me. I find he usually kicks if DS is on my lap (wondering if that's a good or bad sign!).

TheMshipIsBack · 27/02/2016 08:13

sux do go in if you feel concerned - don't fret all day. I've had a major movement pattern shift lately and baby is very quiet in the mornings, generally has me on tenterhooks till she properly kicks off mid morning. I've been on the point of phoning in half a dozen times.

39 weeks today! Curry tonight and we've been dtd every couple of nights. DH says he's happy to help in any way Grin

TheMshipIsBack · 27/02/2016 08:14

Damn auto correct, that should be suz!!

Mondinomum2 · 27/02/2016 08:25

Hey everyone! I'm just past 36 weeks now and wow I'm experiencing the most ridiculous hip pain in both sides. It goes right down my leg too. Literally no sleep for 2 nights now. Anyone else having this? X

docmcstuffins1 · 27/02/2016 08:58

Suz, do ring if you notice anything different. I was at the hospital until 11:30 last night with reduced movement, baby was move but less frequently and with less force than usual. He's normally rally active in the evening so when I got very little after dinner (and having tried cold drinks etc) I rang up. They were lovely. He was really quiet in the monitor to start with, then after 40 mins he 'woke up' and according to the midwife was having a party - hope this doesn't mean I'm in for a nocturnal baby!
She also said he's 3/5 engaged and very low, so hopefully will be putting in an appearance soon.

vroc81 · 27/02/2016 09:14

suz give them a call if you're worried and I'm sure they didn't mean to make you feel silly but even if they did just ignore them, I had the opposite last night, complete manic activity the whole time I was watching spectre (not a bond fan?) and googled it to see if this meant she was planning on heading out or anything and then regretted googling it. Seems back to normal this morning.

I've got a sulk on today, my company are off on a "training" weekend this weekend and because I can't fly I'm sat at home thinking I might eat the chocolate Santa that's appeared... I appreciate they can't help that I'm 39 weeks pregnant but I'm going to sulk anyway...

What's everyone else's plans for the weekend?

TheMshipIsBack · 27/02/2016 09:25

mondino it sounds like sciatic nerve pain if it's going down your legs. It's caused by pressure on the sciatic nerve, from inflammation usually, or in pregnancy just from the extra stress in your lower back. Unfortunately paracetamol isn't very effective and we're not supposed to be on anti inflammatory meds. The best way to get relief is physical - walking is good, and there are gentle exercises and stretches you can do. Can you self refer to antenatal physio? Pregnancy yoga is also helpful, if you're doing classes ask your instructor what they recommend. Someone up thread suggested putting a folded duvet under your hips at night for extra padding.

missdee just saw your update, hope everything goes well for you the next few days. We seem to have a lot of shy babies on this thread and maybe you'll be the next to give birth at this rate! There are some evictions planned next week, I think?

MyNameIsSuz · 27/02/2016 09:46

Thanks everyone, I've had some more movement so think it was just paranoia. Once dh is up I'm going to lie down again and really focus on it, and I'll call the midwives if I'm still worried. Mine is also very low, so could just be harder for it to jiggle about.

Sorry you're missing out vroc, definitely eat that chocolate Santa. I've got a decaf cappuccino and some chocolate fingers!

I've had bad hip pain some nights mondino, it seems to be worse when my legs get too close together. A bigger pillow between my knees has helped.

Woodenmouse · 27/02/2016 10:47

suz if you are worried don't feel bad ringing triage for advice!!

ffauxlivia I have a 2.5yo I've forgotten what the word rest means!!

sherazade · 27/02/2016 11:03

mrsben hope you enjoy the spa weekend, induction in a couple of days?
missdee good luck with the sweep
This horrible knife like pain lower down got so bad last night that DH rang triage although I know it isn't labour or contractions. I was in too much pain and too exhausted to argue but they asked me to come in. After several hours waiting we got seen at around 1am and said baby's head is so low they couldn't feel it and could be irritating my cervix. It feels worse when the baby moves and particularly bad when driving and going over bumps so that's probably it. My tummy was also rock hard the whole time and showing frequent strong BH contractions which I've had for ages now. Sort of wish I hadn't went as am now SO TIRED...

sounds bizarre but I was also getting massive labour envy. The woman next to me went from 1 to 6 cm in about an hour and was sipping on Fanta reading magazines the whole time. I could also hear intense screaming in the corridors and wished it was me in labour, doesn't pregnancy do funny things to you?

MrsBenWyatt · 27/02/2016 11:41

Thanks, Sher, just packing now! Section is Wednesday Grin

Me624 · 27/02/2016 12:06

sher I have massive labour envy too. I'm only 39+1 so plenty of time for it to happen naturally but I'm so jealous of the other mums I know from nct etcwho are having theirs even though they were due before me and some are overdue so it's their "turn"! I just want mine to come!

Also having lots of Braxton Hicks. DH and I have just been for a walk, it's very cold out today brr!

Suz glad you have had some more movement now. I've gone the whole way through this pregnancy being very relaxed but for some reason now I'm right at the end I feel more anxious about reduced movement too. I think it's because now I'm off on leave I don't have work to distract me so have nothing else to focus on!

MrsElls · 27/02/2016 13:00

Massively behind on the thread because this little lady arrived this morning, everyone meet Cassidy Alexandra, 7lb 1oz born after a 2 hour labour! My first was only 5 hours so a quick labour wasn't entirely unexpected! Only 37 +6 so a bit earlier than expected!

March 2016 babies - 2 here already, many more yet to come!!!
vroc81 · 27/02/2016 13:30

Was just about to say I have labour envy too with NCT people booked in for c sections or inductions and then I see your post mrsells definitely envious of a two hour labour!! Many congratulations!!! Beautiful girl!

Are girls leading ahead of the boys at the moment?

Mondinomum2 · 27/02/2016 14:22

Thanks TheMShip and Suz - I'm going to try the folded duvet idea tonight. Already doing the pillow between knees.
Congratulations mrsells !

Me624 · 27/02/2016 14:25

Wow congratulations MrsElls! Lovely name. Two hours, you must have only just made it to hospital?! Or did you have her at home?

QforCucumber · 27/02/2016 14:33

Oh mrsells she's beautiful, and what a gorgeous name too (I'm an alexandra so I'm biased towards it Grin)
Glad to hear you're both well, and I'd be happy with a 5 hour labour never mind 2 haha!
