halfstar I still do both! She now has a boob feed when I get in from work and another before her bath if she fancies it. Then a bottle at bedtime (of formula!!) of between 4-6 oz. Then in the night she'll have boob or rest of bottle depending on if it's me or dp and boob again in the morning. Daytime is a bottle of soya milk+1 - she just didn't get on board with cow's milk. We only transitioned to soya milk last week so will be a little while before it goes in a cup and same with night time feed. I'm not too worried about it.

I think I'll probably only stop breastfeeding to try for another baby - I love it, I can't imagine stopping.

haventgotaclue1 · 11/01/2016 15:52

Ladydolly, the leaking has only started over the last week really. She was in normal size 4s day and night until Saturday, when I got some of the 4+ ones for nights. Don't seem to have made any difference...

Halfstar I stopped over Christmas - her last BF was on Christmas Day night Sad. But, like you, I really don't think there was much left at all and she has shown absolutely zero signs of missing it! I tried for a week to give her a beaker any of cows' milk in the evening instead (at the time she would have had the BF), but she just didn't want to know. So then I went to water and she drank maybe 25ml max - and that was after LOTS of coaxing from me. Since we started nappy-leaking, I've stopped this too (but the nappy-leaking hasn't!). I'm compensating for the lack of milk drinking by plying her with yoghurts, cheese, Ready Brek (has LOADS of calcium!) etc

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 11/01/2016 16:50

We still bf morning straight after work keen to drop that and a bedtime feed until 6days ago I was feeding in night now dh cuddles if wakes between bed and 4.30am then I will get up n feed him we have had 1 4.30 wake up several 5/5.30 and a 7am and generally one wake up before that.

Nappies we use aldi or carrefour from waitrose in 4+ for night and anything in day that's on offer nursery provide nappies which is bonus.

Annarose2014 · 11/01/2016 23:19

We have leakages every second night. Only in the front and he sleeps on his front....and he's a boy, so we think its a willy/gravity thing. I try really hard to have the front of the nappy up to his belly button at night but tbh I dont think it makes much difference.

He's on 5+. Since last months growth spurt he's grown a good inch. Its unnerving how much he can reach on the kitchen table - he can get things a good few inches in from the edge. He is also now big enough to hoist himself up onto the kitchen sofa, so we have to watch him like a hawk so he doesnt somersault off again.

In other news I appear to be pregnant again.........Shock

Very very early so not counting chickens but if it sticks I'll be due late Sept which will be 2 under 2. OH MY GOD I MUST BE MAD.

MrsAukerman · 11/01/2016 23:36

Congratulations Anna - I hope anyway :)

ladydolly · 12/01/2016 07:02

Brilliant news anna!! You need some sort of prize for being 1st :) I'm really broody but whenever I think about bringing it up with dp babydolly throws a hideous night at us (like last night!).

HalfStar · 12/01/2016 07:46

Aw wow Anna! congrats!! Feet up nowSmile (when you can)

moggle · 12/01/2016 09:46

Wow Anna congratulations!! That's so exciting, fingers crossed everything goes as it should for the next 8 months. xxx

Annarose2014 · 12/01/2016 09:50

Thanks all, fingers crossed!

Our attitude is that it's always going to be shit so no point waiting! Also I'm turning 41 soon so dodgy to wait too long.

Of course I'm utterly shitting my pants. Scared of miscarriage and abnormalities etc cos of age. But trying not to get ahead of myself, I haven't even been to the GP yet!

happypotamus · 12/01/2016 10:36

Congratulations Anna! I like your pragmatic approach to 2 under 2.

Yes, we are still doing bedtime feed, breastfeed when I am here, soya milk in a bottle when I am at work, but then my 4yr old would still have a bedtime cup of milk if I let her.

Arkkorox · 12/01/2016 15:31

Congratulations Anna !!!

Strawberryfield12 · 12/01/2016 21:10

congratulations Anna! That's quite some news to return on the thread!!

Full on night bottles here. I recon she is going through some growth spurt. Apparently in the nursery she has gone through two portions of breakfast and finished off all other meals as well. Last few nights she has been going through 3 (!) big bottles of milk. Considering amount of milk she goes through, makes me question whether she needs it for growth or I should drop it as advised.
And apparently she eats cereal in the nursery, but when I try to give her the same at home, she first tries to feed me and when I refuse, throws it on the floor. Either she eats them there because other kids do or she feeds somebody else with them like she did with me?

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 13/01/2016 06:44

Strawberry what's done at nursery stays at nursery!! In all honesty some children only do certain things at nursery that they refuse to do at home.

Ds2 sleep had improved til I jinxed it and told a work colleaeand dh was up to him at 2+3 I took him at 4 n gave him milk n he woke again at 5+6 but literally one cry so left but just about to wake him to feed prior to work, only difference yesterday was he feel asleep at 5.15 for 45mins as he was tired on way home from nursery I brought him in in car seat n took advantage of it to get dinner n few jobs done!

Jw35 · 13/01/2016 08:28

Hi I wonder if you would mind me joining so late on? Blush my baby was actually born on (22nd) December 2014 but there doesn't seem to be a thread for that! Eve is 12 months. I could really do with a support group! I'm also 11 weeks pregnant so she's going to be a big sister! Smile

moggle · 13/01/2016 09:15

JW Hi!! Of course - join the virtual madhouse. How strange - I just had a browse through the board and found the December 2014 thread stopped abruptly in Feb. Maybe they all decamped over to facebook or something. Half the original posters on this thread disappeared to FB before the babies were born so only the very coolest ones are left here hahaha! Wow 11 weeks pregnant that is exciting terrifying.

We were supposed to start TTC this month but I've just realised we've probably missed the window this month, oops. Funny, as it took us two years of trying (and then IVF) to get DD and I was obsessive about dates but I barely even know what day of the week it is let alone day of my cycle.

We've been having another horrid wonder week the past couple of weeks. Coupled with teething (still only 2 teeth though), and a fever (not sure what the cause of that is... late MMR reaction? A cold? Tummy bug? Just more teething?), and trying but failing to drop a nap, me and DD have been rather stressed out. She also refusing to eat anything in the afternoons during her wonder weeks which contributes to the stress. At least I know now it is only temporary, and she still guzzles 9oz of milk and sleeps through (mostly), but the food being wasted here is ridiculous as I can't stop myself trying her on proper meals even though I know she'll only eat cheese, yoghurt and fruit!! I did manage to get her to eat a little yesterday afternoon by feeding her my chips as I scoffed an early dinner before her bedtime and she wandered round the house. Honestly, pre-DD I never thought I would do that kind of thing but desperate times!!!!!

ladydolly · 13/01/2016 09:18

Well hello JW35! Please join us! Congratulations too :)

I wonder what happened to the December gang then?

So that's 2 of you on your second... I really should get cracking. I LOVE the idea of a new baby, I'm just kind of dreading being pregnant again. Now I know what I'm in for I just can't help but think about how I'd cope (or perhaps NOT cope!) with feeling sick all the time again. I'm such a wimp.

Annarose2014 · 13/01/2016 09:23

jw how have you found the 1st trimester with DD?

I'm already starting to get fatigue and I'm still only Month 1! Last time I found the first 3 months endless & I had no baby!

Jw35 · 13/01/2016 17:54

Thanks for the welcome! Smile yes it's totally exhausting being pregnant with a one year old! Nausea is the worse and feel tired all the time. Tbh though I've been broody since she was about 6 months! Grin love the idea of a close age gap.

haventgotaclue1 · 13/01/2016 19:30

Huge congratulations Anna Grin. Like you, I turn 41 this year and am toying with the idea of a 2nd...originally dh and I said one would be more than enough and I still though that up til about a week ago but now.....

Hi JW welcome to the November thread Smile and big congratulations to you too!

Ladydolly, makes you think doesn't it! I'm more bothered about how I'd cope with the 10 weeks (if a 2nd is anything like the 1st) of absolutely zero sleep...well, the bare minimum, and also having to be awake enough to take care of a toddler...hmmmmmmmmm

We've had the 6th tooth cutting through over the last week - her cheeks have been SO red it's not funny, and quite rough and sore, poor thing. Think the snotty nose is also as a result of the teething. Now it's cut through I'm hoping that will disappear soon.

Also have a food monster here - she's eating SO much it's really not funny. Dh is worried that we're over-feeding her and she's going to end up being obese Hmm. If she didn't want / need it, I figure she'd refuse it / throw it on the floor etc. The latest "thing" is to literally hurl her beaker on the kitchen floor. I've been firm in saying that's not needed etc etc, and today I even wagged my finger at her (!), she just laughed at me Confused - she's 13.5 months old.....

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 13/01/2016 19:32

Welcome jw and congratulations.

I am knackered and still 2 more days work.

Bil n nephew coming to stay at weekend on way somewhere bil is odd and nephew is odder he is 23, bil is the husband of dh sister so not a blood relation to us and I said I didn't want them a staying dh is too kind but has said they can't have spare room he sleeps in there its the way everyone gets most sleep possible so they will have airbed on lounge floor n dh told them to bring sleeping bags so no extra washing for me - we are t normally so unwelcoming too guests just ones we dont really want to stay!!

Strawberryfield12 · 13/01/2016 20:19

Congratulations JW!

So far I have been really enjoying being back at work, having time to think and not being constantly interrupted whatever I do and finally I am out of the usual jeans and wear nicer clothes which didn't make much sense to wear while at home. It's almost like having whole day of the me time. I will probably get over it once I get back 100% into the usual battles. As at today I happily stop at having DD only, ask me again few months later...

So today was the first day DD didn't cry when dropped off in the nursery. We arrived in time for breakfast, I put her in the high chair, gave her big hug and told I would come back in the evening. Stood up expecting her kick off, but she didn't. So I started to walk towards the door ready for the scream to start, but it was silent, she didn't even look back at me. After 4 weeks of crying I was so used to it that I was in shock it never happened, I actually lingered at the door for some time waiting for it. Let's just hope this is how its going to be now on.

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 13/01/2016 20:30

That's great strawberry ds2 is really properly settled at nursery now no issues going back after Xmas even when I collect he is busy playing and crawls over full smiles he has been there since sept.

Ds2 still isn't walking doesn't cruise or pull to feet he does pull to knees he will stand at furniture if you stand him up ds1 didn't do any of this just stood up n walked at 18mths but did walk holding both your hands from about 7/8mths and was expected to walk early ds2 has no interest in moving feet he has a super speedy crawl and can get what he wants by mega stretching.

New word here is ninner which we have worked out is dinner meaning get me food!

Jw35 · 13/01/2016 21:01

Eve just started saying 'mmma' for mum! Smile no other clear words just made up favourites like 'ba' lol.

She's been cruising since 10 months and also took her first steps then. However 2.5 months later and it's still only 2-3 steps from one couch to another! She can climb the stairs, get off sofas and beds safely and crawls fine. I'm looking forward to the walking as she's a lump!

Anyone tried pull ups yet? I'm considering them for night as she's too wriggly after her bath and hates lying down for the nappy!

Annarose2014 · 13/01/2016 21:38

Oh we're only doing pull ups during the day. Aldi ones (though not sure if they start at size 4 or 5?).

I put something interesting on the sofa and he stands there and pays no attention to me as I do a 60 second change. Putting them on feels like shoeing a horse, lol. One foot raised......then the other foot........

I even have graduated to doing pooey ones standing up! Mad Skillz!
