Never thought of travel cot. We do have one. Will see how he goes, it's not bothering him but he's that close that when his dummy falls out it goes on the floor

DulcetMoans · 25/10/2015 20:58

Did he watch X factor with you again today popz?

J hasn't got any better. He's pooing all day and groaning/screaming every time he feeds (when he then poos). He's snotty and sneezy too. My boy is in a state. Going to HV clinic tomorrow so see what they say but anyone have ideas? One of DH cousins said maybe teething but does that make them snotty?

purplewhale · 25/10/2015 22:26

Dulcet teething can make them snotty! My nephew has a permanent runny nose lately

Fleurchamp · 26/10/2015 07:20

dulcet S is doing the same. Fussing when feeding, pooing little watery poos every 2hrs or so, dribbling and snotty.

I called the Dr on Friday and he wasn't concerned but I may take him in today anyway.

My mum is convinced it's teething but he's only 14 weeks!

Pisghetti · 26/10/2015 07:51

It does sound like teething fleur. It can go on for ages before any teeth appear unfortunately but it does seem to come and go. It makes them snotty and dribbly and then because they're swallowing all that slobber and phlegm they get really dodgy poos Confused

Purple BabyPis is still in her crib (in a sleepyhead) at 7months but she is teeny. She will probably fit in it for a while longer yet but can sit up and rock herself now so she needs to be moved! As she's still waking up several times a night I don't plan to move her into her room yet so I'll be setting up the travel cot.

Hope you all get some poos soon (in the nicest possible way)!

Popz she found the on off switch last week and turned it off while DS was 1-0 up on FIFA. His outrage was hilarious! Then because DP and DS coordinate supervision of the baby in the same way they team up to stop food burning, she pressed eject then leaned on the tray. DP eventually managed to fix it. Neither has taken responsibility. Lucky that's all she did as when she's in that area she usually tries to lick the plug sockets Hmm

deeplybaffled · 26/10/2015 08:31

pis - that's genius! I must train madam to do similar with the sky remote when the American football is on.
purple - how big is b? Can't believe that he's outgrowing his crib basket already!

Madam has her first set of jabs next week. It will include the dreaded mel b, I think, so do experienced viroids have any advice about what to do or expect? ?

RPopz · 26/10/2015 08:49

Haha pis that sounds like poetic justice! Grin

Minipopz is in a travel cot in our room too. He was a big boy like B so the Moses basket didn't last long. We pushed our luck a bit with the Bednest I think... He was busting out of it by the end.

Mr P watched X Factor with me again, but the phone was present once again.... Also this morning he's gone to work without tidying the kitchen - he knows we have someone viewing the house later on. And he's used all the fucking milk. Maybe I'm just flogging a dead horse - he's always nice and helpful for one fucking day and then forgets all about it. Cunt.

DulcetMoans · 26/10/2015 08:51

Get the calpol in deeply! You need to give it straight after and then at 4 hourly intervals. Then make no plans for the rest of the day, just in case. It could be fine but you may need a sofa day!

That's really interesting fleur, sounds really similar. Will let you know if my HV has anything different to say.

LaLaLaaaa · 26/10/2015 08:55

Morning!

My wee boy slept in his own room last night. I felt like someone had cut my arm off, but it was nice to be able to blow my nose without fear of waking him. He woke only 3 times, compared with every hour as it has been.

I'm still terrified about SIDS risk. Dh has been trying to convince me about the low risk of it happening but I don't think I'll ever relax about it. Not sure how much weight there is scientifically to the whole thing about them needing to hear you breathe etc but we had white noise on in his room so it wasn't silent and with both doors open he will have been able to hear us as our house is tiny. I watched the monitor obsessively and it's astounding how much he moves around! No wonder he was waking up and waking me up!! He still had wind at 4am so then I brought him into our room to hold him until 7.

Going to meet friends and their babies over in aldershot today.

Deeply take calpol with you and give her a dose straight after the jabs, then at regular intervals for the rest of the day. Take her temp regularly and give lots of cuddles and boob time. She will be fine but she might be bit grizzly for a few days. B went on nursing strike which was very difficult to deal with.

Pis are you sure you didn't train her to do that??? I'm going to train B to steal dhs phone and put it down the loo.

It does sound like teething Fleur dulcet they get dodgy nappies and are very dribbly and off. Do you have tethers you can put in fridge? B loves his. He's biting down on everything but no sign of teeth yet. My friends wee girl got her first at 6 weeks

LaLaLaaaa · 26/10/2015 08:56

B is 3/4 way down the snuzpod already so I doubt he'd have made it to 6 months. We have no space in bedroom for anything bigger. He looks tiny in the cot bed!

He's also nearly out of the carrycot so we've had to buy the insert for pushchair

RPopz · 26/10/2015 10:10

Oh and apparently he has gone to work with my keys - but it's ok! I can just move all the furniture round in the living room so I can use the front door instead! All on no food.... Because hey, why would I need breakfast!?

purplewhale · 26/10/2015 10:43

Oh dear Popz Sad

B has room in his crib, it's just the rolling, he's awfully close to the bars. We're ok for a while in the Moses basket. He just seems to have had a growth spurt. I was being a bit PFB about whether he'd bang his head or be uncomfortable

La. Glad you made it through the night. How come he needed holding so long? Should I be doing this if he has wind? all the fecking time

deeplybaffled · 26/10/2015 14:03

Maybe I should get double the calpol and have some myself....sounds as if I may need it !

deeplybaffled · 26/10/2015 14:04

la - hope you are ok and am looking forward to your hula dance video when you have the energy Smile

LaLaLaaaa · 26/10/2015 15:31

Deeply it's up! Forgive my horrendous sleep deprived look!

I do that plus bicycle legs, pushing legs up to chest (ideal at night to quickly let out any imminent wind he's got bothering him), massage, holding upright 10 min after feed, carrying in sling as much as possible and tummy time. Works well!

batfish · 27/10/2015 05:53

Hi all, I appear to have an actual baby so thought I would make my way over here and find out how to look after him! 11 days old today and he's the most gorgeous thing I've ever seen - I've been literally doing nothing around the house because I can't bear to put him down and when I do I still want to watch him! Been really lucky so far as he has been quite easy but I know that could change at any second!

RPopz · 27/10/2015 07:22

Hiya bat! You do right - housework can wait!! Enjoy your snuggles Smile x

ZylaB · 27/10/2015 08:10

Hi bat :)

LaLaLaaaa · 27/10/2015 08:13

Yay bat! Hi!

Enjoy those cuddles it's the best bit!!!

Who was talking about leap 4 recently? Cunt leap I think they called it. Tee? My, you weren't kidding! B is a fussy bugger. Plus side is he's very smiley and funny when not fussing so it makes up for it a bit. He is fussing like mad at feeds - you'd think I was trying to poison him. But dummy trick works and he usually will eventually feed. Took him to visit friends yesterday and one has a 10 month old chunky boy. I picked him up - oh my god he was heavy! I can see B being like that in 7 months!

He was back in our room last night. I freaked out and insisted he move all the monitors back in Confused felt a bit of a fanny but I just felt wrong with him in other room and also feeds were annoying as by the time I got to him either he was crying or didn't need feeding. Easier to have him next to me for now.

So after major bedtime fuss he finally went to sleep at 7 thirty and slept 7 hours!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I we t to bed at half 9 and woke up really confused at 2:30 and had to check time loads because I was sure it was wrong! He then wouldn't sleep though so second half of night was shit - but that's progress! He woke both of us up at 6:30 talking to the shaft of sunlight coming in the side of the curtains.

LaLaLaaaa · 27/10/2015 08:16

Popz do you not exist on thin air? Wink daft Mr Popz. Are you going to try to talk to him again?

We are going to baby cinema today to see Spectre. Dh is coming with me!

LaLaLaaaa · 27/10/2015 08:24

I know I moan about him a lot but Mr La just came in to ask if I want anything from shop. I look up and he's got B in the sling all bundled up, it was very cute!
Grin

Pisghetti · 27/10/2015 09:36

That's some good sleeping La! We had our best night for a long time. She woke up at about midnight ish but just wanted a cuddle (wouldn't latch on) and went back down quickly. Took a big feed at about 2ish but took ages to settle as she kept waking herself up coughing and then up for breakfast and for the day at 6.30 which is unusually early but I think the clocks changing has had an effect.

She's been a fucking nightmare this morning though. None of it is really her fault so I feel bad for saying that but it just seems like destruction follows her today! We're staying with MrPis for the week where he works. He changed her this morning while I grabbed a shower and she peed on the bed. Twice. I went down to make breakfast and put porridge on the stove and bread in the toaster. MrPis hands her to me when I ask him to get her highchair from the car. He mentions smell of burning toast. Toaster doesn't pop itself. Fuck. While I'm trying to deal with that with BabyPis on my hip, she leans over and in one movement throws the pan of porridge over. So there's hot milk and oats EVERYWHERE. Over the counter, under the microwave, down the drawer fronts, in the drawers, all over the floor. MrPis cleans it up as I'm still holding her. I try putting her down for a moment and she heads straight for some trinkets at her level and nearly smashes a milk jug. So I have to hold her. The house isn't babyproof - why would it be? There's only two adults living there! MrPis finishes getting ready for work with a face like thunder. I go and manhandle the high chair from the car with BabyPis under one arm. Finally I can strap her in so she's safe and out of harms way. She doesn't like being safe. She screams the house down. I sit down with cold toast and cold coffee and some freshly made porridge which she mostly snorts and/or throws around. She bashes the table with her sippy cup and throws that down repeatedly until I take it off her. She makes a ninja dash for my coffee and nearly has that over. The girl has a reach like a fucking orangutan! She screams some more while I wash up. She's absolutely knackered so the 6.30 start was obviously too early. She's flaked out now on my lap. So much for getting up with MrPis so I could get out early!

So at some point today I'll be heading to the train station and deciding where in the East Midlands I fancy going to. Can't decide whether to sling it, pram or both. I might take the pram so I don't have to carry bags.

Someone asked about high chairs. MrPis and I both have the red kite bistro (wooden z frame style, £25 ebay) but I also have the ikea antilop that my friend gave us. It's good for travelling because it comes apart easily.

Oh just heard MrPis' landlady go downstairs so she must have heard all the screaming and banging. Oops!

Pisghetti · 27/10/2015 09:37

On the bright side though I got breakfast at least. Sounds like MrPopz needs a kick in the balls.

Toast85 · 27/10/2015 10:14

Wow pis so this parent thing doesn't get easier then?! At least you have coffee. Hope you have a good day out eventually.

Hi bat! Hooray for October babies! ignoring the fact Melba was ridiculously early We need to get ga over here too (hi if you're lurking!)

La baby cinema?? Wtf? Actual cinema you can take your baby to? Amazeballs.

Melba and I are at my parents for a few days, loving being looked after and not having to cook, clean not that I've done much recently anyway and plenty of arms to put her in when I want a shower etc. DH is missing us!

Toast85 · 27/10/2015 10:15

Oh sorry pis just realised you said your coffee was cold too. Bugger.
