Just Mumming 9- We're suffering the curse of Mel B, ST syndrome and the rise of the sleep snatchers. We've all had enough and would just like a good JS.

How annoying cookie it sounds like they deserved the water bomb Sad

I am still BFing la with a bedtime bottle of formula. Still no poo, sigh. S has been a pickle all day, he writhes around in pain when trying to feed him. So he doesn't get much and is then up more in the night.

He has been asleep for the past 2 hours in the pram (I took him out for a walk to get some air) I am not sure when I should wake him - he is overdue a feed and is supposed to go to bed at 7pm Confused

Thanks for the tips re swimming - it hadn't occurred to me to get a new swim suit but I totally need to. My maternity one is too big and slips off my shoulders but my pre pregnancy one is so tight it leaves marks on my shoulders and creates boobs on my back

At night S wears a short sleeve vest, sleep suit and 2.5 tog sleeping bag. The room is pretty much 19 degrees all the time. He seems fine but I am shivering!

We aren't getting S anything for Christmas (bad parents) - I wrote a little list of toys etc for him but all my family are buying those Hmm plus he gets enough stuff the rest of the time.

I have bought him the cutest Christmas jumper though Grin

Fleurchamp · 22/11/2015 22:23

Sorry for the random post but I was reading another thread and they were using iPhone emoticons.

Testing: 😂😴😈

Fleurchamp · 22/11/2015 22:23

Yey!

As you were 😘

Toast85 · 23/11/2015 05:52

I see no emoticons on your posts fleur.

We'll get Melba something for Christmas and also get things like her own stocking, special Christmas tree bauble that will be 'hers' for future years, a Christmas outfit, etc. Obviously it's mainly for us as she'll have no idea. I'm looking forward to seeing what she makes of twinkly Christmas lights though. We're also suggesting to family if they ask to get her things that will be useful throughout the coming year eg weaning equipment and toys that are a bit more active. I had wondered about money towards swimming lessons too.

Those of you who have done swimming lessons, what age did you start? What do you actually do in lessons?

purplewhale · 23/11/2015 08:11

Toast we're doing water babies. It's £150 for 10 weeks. B loves it so far anyway

LaLaLaaaa · 23/11/2015 08:26

We do bubbles - £7 a lesson. They learn to be happy in water, get water on face, hold onto side/float and kick legs. Towards end they get dunked underwater and you work up to that, teaching them not to mind water on face

LaLaLaaaa · 23/11/2015 08:26

Ben started at 15 weeks

RPopz · 23/11/2015 09:20

I want emoticons! 😒

RPopz · 23/11/2015 09:21

Yaaaay! 😁

DulcetMoans · 23/11/2015 09:26

I can only see ?

What's happening?!

oneyorkshirepud · 23/11/2015 09:34

Morning Grad Grads, hope you are all okay and all the small beans are doing well. Hopefully I will be joining you on here in the not too distant future!

I couldn't work out how to do a tag on FB so I thought I would ask on here. Pixie did you say you were an aromatherapist? Or did I make that up? I'm thinking of getting some oils for labour. I can get some pre mixed labour oil from Holland and Barratt which I presume will be quite reputable... any advice would be more than welcome though!

purplewhale · 23/11/2015 09:53

We started last week at 10 weeks. I didn't find a cheaper option around here

Fleurchamp · 23/11/2015 17:07

S will be 20 weeks when we start - he was a bit too young for the last term (he would have been 8 weeks old!) and all the other swim schools in the area are booked up for ages.

Stuff round here gets so booked up - I needed to put S's name down for baby sensory before he was born! I have a place starting January.

Maybe only those on iPhone/ iPad can see emoticons?

NFSN (news from S's nappy) - he has been!!! Hopefully he cheers up - he has been a real grump. Typical that he waited until his daddy was back at work....

Grads that have been through leaps - we are currently in cunt leap 4 and I have discovered that S gets really startled by things. He seems to have lost the Moro reflex

Fleurchamp · 23/11/2015 17:08

Oops - posted too soon

He has lost the Moro reflex but really jumps if I rattle a toy or there is a loud bang. Anyone else had this?

I am a bit sad that the Moro reflex has gone...

purplewhale · 23/11/2015 18:41

I'm on iPad but can't see emoticons. What's the Moro reflex? Smile

Fleurchamp · 23/11/2015 19:38

purple it's when babies fling their arms out when they are dropped/ startled - S used to do it whenever we put him down. It was cute (but also a pain in the bum as it would wake him up sometimes).

RPopz · 23/11/2015 22:01

Aw, I miss the moro reflex too. Minipopz had a ginourmous one! Grin Glad S has finally unloaded haha!

purplewhale · 23/11/2015 22:20

Ahh yes he does that all the time, fecking pain in the arse as it wakes him up when you put him down!

When do they grow out of it?

LaLaLaaaa · 24/11/2015 06:28

Fleur yes I've found B seems more startled and a bit floppier too. He's through the worst now. I hated the Moro reflex b had a really pronounced one and constantly woke himself up.

Purple - about 3 months

B slept 11-4:30 and I woke up confused and soaked with milk. He's had a big feed and is napping on me because if I put him down he wakes.

Mums here for a week, hooray! She knitted him mittens :). Bought a snowsuit yesterday be shush it's so cold but he can't wear it until splint comes off. Struggling a bit with cold weather because I can only put one layer under splint and nothing fits over it so I just have to bundle him in a blanket and make sure all the other bits are layered up. His little lip was quivering in car yesterday. Must be really hard having a newborn in winter.

Took him to baby group yesterday and everyone was asking about the splint. I get really defensive when folk ask 'what's wrong with him?' There's nothing wrong with him, he's perfect. He just needs his hip correcting slightly.

He is such a good boy - he's feeding brilliantly despite the splint in public. I thought it was going to be difficult but it's fine!

Going to get my hair cut and coloured today. I'm SO excited. It looks like shit and I can't wait to not look like a troll anymore!

ZylaB · 24/11/2015 10:40

We had to swaddle H at night because she kept waking herself up with the Moro reflex! :) :) was cute though

ZylaB · 24/11/2015 10:41

la I'm glad B is coping well with the splint, could you maybe put some adult sized leg warmers over his splint and legs to keep him warmer? Or big adult wooly socks pulled up over his legs? And yes, he is perfect :)

LaLaLaaaa · 24/11/2015 11:33

Good idea zyla! I'll try that thank you

RPopz · 24/11/2015 17:59

Oof I think I'd be the same too La!

How was the hairdressers? I'm so jealous. Need mine doing desperately!! Half tempted to colour it myself but that's not usually a good idea.....

cookielove · 24/11/2015 18:44

la hope you enjoyed your haircut. I am in desperate need for one Grin

zyla that's a brilliant idea for baby B!!

E ate two meals today yay!!

Dh is ill Boo :(

purplewhale · 24/11/2015 20:21

We had jabs today, he's dosed up on calpol and has been ok. He's spent most of the day asleep on me. I didn't realise we had to go back for more in 4 weeks. I knew there was more than one set, didn't realise they were so close.
