My DC2 was born on 5th August and I'm up in the wee hours feeding away. Anyone else with their August babies care to join me?

I still can't believe he's here and in my arms!

Frolic the lamb skin is brilliant. Keeps them cool in hot weather and warm in cold and when she outgrows it in the Moses it's going in the buggy as a liner. I've got a babydan one that's been treated so it's safer for babies. Love it!!!

mzzzf · 02/10/2015 16:14

OMG!
Mini mzzzf has just rolled from tummy to back twice!! I was on Skype to my parents and they saw it too. I'm sure it's more luck + being head heavy than skill but wowzers!!!!

Fanby · 02/10/2015 17:22

Oh look at these beautiful bubbas!! I agree, we've made some stunners here, clever us!!!!

So I've realised why little pickle has been so grizzly today, no poo! She usually goes a lot so must have been so backed up!! She's in the middle of feeding but has now let rip, can't wait to see what delights we have in store!
Had a lovely time meeting my friend, a super long walk in the beautiful sunshine followed by cake to restore the energies. I'm now hanging out at the train station awaiting my friend as I couldn't be bothered to go home and walk back on myself...
As DH is out tonight I've gone ahead and booked a massage for tomorrow. Just a 30min one but feel I deserve it, sounds silly as it is only half an hour but bit scared of leaving her still, can't win!! xx

Fanby · 02/10/2015 17:23

Omg missed your rolling post mzzzf!!! That's amazing!!!!!! I'm so chuffed for you! Proper milestone!! xx

FattyNinjaOwl · 02/10/2015 17:28

Obviously we must all be super good looking mums to have such gorgeous babies!
mzzzf that's awesome! DS keeps nearly rolling front to back but doesn't quite manage it. If my older two are anything to go by, once they realise they can do it (usually after a couple of flukes) they never stop!

FattyNinjaOwl · 02/10/2015 17:30

DS is still a bit upset and fussy after his jabs. Hopefully back to normal tomorrow. I'm off to nap a bit now that DP is here! Had a very strange night last night.

Dozygirl · 02/10/2015 18:03

Noooooooo just wrote a long message and pressed the back button and lost it all. Boohoo. Took me ages as well because dd is a fidget while feeding. Will try again later. Totally regret havin a phone that I can't use with one hand because it's too big lol.

Fanby · 02/10/2015 22:42

Bit of an odd question...I have the new app, is there a way of always showing the newest messages first or do you always have to flip it?

In other news I should be asleep like DD...grrr x

Lilydreams · 02/10/2015 22:51

Dozy you are right you guys really can chat! In the time it's taken me to read half the back thread there's another 2 pages! I don't think I'll ever catch up at this rate so I'll just read most recent so apologies to anyone if I start jabbering about things you've already discussed!

Fatty and mzzf- how old are you LOs? I'm intrigued as to when they start rolling? Luca has a proper strong little neck and legs already at nearly 10 weeks - he loves 'standing up' on our laps- supported obviously! And will 'walk' all the way up my body to my neck! He sometimes cries because he wants to be stood on us looking round nosey monkey!

Fanby- totally understand you being scared to leave your LO I've only left mine twice- once to nip to lidl round the corner and once to have my hair done which was about 4 hours and as much as I enjoyed (and needed my hair doing) I drove home so fast!!! Both times left him with DH I'm not ready to leave him with anyone else yet despite MILs continuous questioning of when we are 'going on a date' so she can have him and that 'it's for you not me' that she keeps asking!!!

Anyone else missing being pregnant?? Those of you that were on antenatal thread will remember I really didn't enjoy being pregnant between the sickness to 21 weeks, the lack of sleep and general feeling of my fanjo falling out but somehow I am desperately missing it!!! Wtf?!?!!! I think it's because I never really got to relax and focus on enjoying it as I had uni to finish until 30 weeks and then was focusing on house move. Plus with him coming early I didn't get to do the nice last day at work thing or any of the things I had planned for mat leave before he arrived! Feel a bit cheated!! I love him so much and am enjoying being a mummy (finally after those awful first few weeks!) so why the hell am I longing for him being back in my belly?!?!!! I even put on a tshirt of DH's that I wore loads as pjs when pregnant for bed as couldn't find a pj top before and cried because it was all baggy where it had previously been stretched across my bump!!! Feel like I'm going crazy!!!!

Off to sleep to see how much I can get before the first feed! He took 6oz for the first time (usually has 4 or 5) at 8pm so maybe I'll get a few hours!! Wishful thinking!!!

FattyNinjaOwl · 03/10/2015 00:31

Hi lily don't worry about asking about stuff we've already discussed, I'm sure we will happily talk about it again.
My DS was born august 1st (10 days late) so he is 9 weeks today! (As its technically the 3rd) Shock where does time go?!

They all roll at different times. My DD rolled at 7 weeks. DS1 was 10 weeks. It's like anything else. Each baby is different.
My DS1 could crawl by 4 months, (commando style) and was walking by 8 months.
DD crawled at 7 months and walked at 10 months. DS1 never slept, DD slept through from birth. DS2 is like his big brother.

So completely different! So be aware if you have them on the bed etc...that's usually when they decide to roll/crawl etc. Just to give us heart attack you see Wink

FattyNinjaOwl · 03/10/2015 00:36

Oh and I'm sorry but I can't relate to you missing pregnancy. I hated it. I had severe SPD and was on crutches from 17 weeks. By the end I was housebound. Couldn't move at all without support. So I'm glad I'm not pregnant anymore! Grin
I understand where you are coming from though. With DS1 I had a perfect pregnancy. If not for the bump you would never have known. I was stood on window sills cleaning windows at 8 months gone!
I still didn't enjoy it though as I didn't feel I could just sit and be pregnant if you get what I mean? I felt that because things went so well, I had no excuse to be a bit lazy.

Clstow · 03/10/2015 01:08

So much action on the thread and so many gorgeous babies! Love it love it, well done us for having beautiful babbas!

Welcome Lily, great to have you on board. I was thinking about pregnancy the other day and there are definitely bits of it that I miss - but also bits that I really don't! I was opposite to you and went 2 weeks overdue so had really had enough by the end, but I don't imagine an early arrival being any easier.

Rolling MzzzF! Congrats and also aargh! So exciting to see them developing, but it does add a new level of worry that they may roll off something!

I had a 30 min massage last weekend and it was heaven Fanby, all this baby carrying had left me with some strange aches and pains but I've been like a new woman this week.

I read somewhere that your boobs settle down at 12 weeks Joskar so maybe don't invest in too many good bras now in case they don't fit in a few weeks. Im desperate for some nice bras, the ones I have are pure function. Have been recommended to go to Bravissimo so if there's one near you it might be worth checking out.

So my evening off for pizza with the girls was lovely but I did end up really missing DS! Also got home to find DS in the bath and about to be put in his third babygrow of the night and OH saying he couldn't believe how busy he'd been and that he hadn't even had time to heat up his dinner! Haha, think it was a real eye opener - would totally recommend getting any unappreciative partners to do an evening on their own to see how easy it isn't!

After that we had another shocking night - up every 1-2 hours. Felt like crap this morning but am up for the first time with DS now so he's already managed a 3 hour stint tonight which has made me more hopeful for the rest of the night. Thinking sleepy thoughts for us all Grin

Lilydreams · 03/10/2015 02:05

Fatty- time flies doesn't it, it's so scary!! I keep saying to DH I can't believe I've only got 5 months mat leave left- he thinks in boasting but in genuinely Shock!! Wow at your DS1 walking so early that's amazing! Think I'd better stop risking the odd sexing leaving DS on the changing table whilst I dash across the room to wash my hands etc- heart attack territory in doubt!! Poor you you sound like you had a rough time pg and whilst I didn't have it so bad I didn't enjoy it! Anyone who asked whilst I was pg would h have another was told 'no!!' Or 'not anytime soon' and yet already I know I Defo want another and miss it that's the weird thing!! I do think my easy quick labour probably makes me think it's not so bad though!!

Clstow- your evening out sounds lovely and great so see it made your DP more appreciative! Hope you he another long stint of sleep now! Luca has just had a feed so I got 3 hours too- I need to start going to sleep earlier though as he went 5 hours so I missed out on 2!! DH on nights this week too so I really could go to bed at 8 and it wouldn't matter!

Off to see if I can catch some more zzzzzzzzzzz

Lilydreams · 03/10/2015 02:06

Odd second not sexing!!!!! Argh tired 2am writing!!!

Fanby · 03/10/2015 02:08

No, I don't think I'm missing pregnancy either. I miss the fact I should have taken loooooong indulgent showers/baths, but not the bump side of things. I much prefer having her out and about.

Oh clstow your DH has made me laugh! At the same well done him! Mine still isn't home, more fool him being hungover with her tomorrow as I will be tagging him in quite early! Wink

Dozygirl · 03/10/2015 05:30

The only thing I miss about pregnancy is when I was out and about and people could see I was pregnant, I loved that. Now i feel lost when I go out briefly without my dd.

Fanby I've read wool and part of the second one. Got a bit bored in the second one so not finished it yet. Sorry to hear molly had an unsettled period. It's horrible when they are like that. Enjoy your massage tomorrow. I know exactly how u feel about leaving her. I've only left her in the day if I've had appointments to go to and mainly with my mum. Oddly enough I don't trust my own dp with her in the evenings because of the fact he likes to drink beer. If he didn't drink I'd maybe trust him more buy I'm. Too paranoid that he'll doze off while holding her and I don't think he'd be safe because of the alcohol. It's only 2 cans but I still don't like it

Awwww loving all the cute baby pics. Definitely agree that we must all be super good looking to create such beautiful babies.

So annoyed I'd lost that message in was typing as I find it hard enough to remember what's been said by the time I come to write my message in the first place so now I definitely can't remember everything I was going to say.

Clstow glad your dp now understands what it's like to have a baby and still try to do other things. Maybe I should start trusting dp with Piper so he understands more.

Think I'm coming down with a cold. Have just a but of a sore throat at the moment but that's usually how they start. I'm dreading it because I hate being ill so I can't imagine feeling crappy but having dd to look after. Please let it not be proper illness. There is a lot going round at the moment though so I wouldn't be surprised.

When people say 'fussing' at the breast when feeding, do u mean full on screaming and crying or just wriggling and messing around? Dd was a bit better yesterday but i didn't feed in any places that I'd have been uncomfortable with her crying so it was easier to manage. Will go brestfeeding group on Monday anyway and chat to people there and see if others have been the same.

Mzzf I started my squats yesterday while lifting baby up heehee. It's a great way to keep her quiet and to tone up while I'm at it. Also managed a really long walk. It's amazing how much more energy I have again now I'm not pregnant. Apart from the tiredness from lack of sleep of course. When I was pregnant I wondered if I'd ever feel normal ever again or it I'd just become really mega lazy and would remain lazy. Even simple things like hanging the washing out was horrendous when pregnant. But I'm definitely increasing in energy pysically now so I that's a relief.

Dozygirl · 03/10/2015 05:35

Just had a reread back through and remember joskar Charlie dimmock comment hahaha. That did make me chuckle. I still need to get new bras but in hate bra shopping with a passion. I'm worried I'm going to have even saggier boobs after in give up breastfeeding because I'm not wearing a bra in bed and they get really heavy so they're not supported. But i can't be bothered wearing a bra. I'm wearing a pj shirt top now to keep warm while feeding and it's easy to whack a boob out from the buttons.

Frolicacid · 03/10/2015 05:49

I've just re-read my last post and I hope I didn't come across as a judgey twat about the leaving a newborn baby to cry thing. I meant that I can't believe anyone would chose it as a parenting strategy- not a judgement on those times we can't actually get them to stop or when we have to walk away for a few minutes for everyone's sake. God knows I've had plenty of those.

Anyway, I hope you're all ok. We've had a mixed night so far. Ds was overtired and a nightmare to settle all evening. My fault for bathing him when he should have been sleeping. But he then slept 12:30-5. He's currently emptying my boob whilst working on a great big poo. Lovely!

What a clever baby mini mzzf is! You will need eyes in the back of your head soon.
Thank you for the sheepskin recommendation. Will look into the babydan ones. I think that's what ds will be getting for Christmas - I figure he's so young it may as well be something practical l, or is it mean not to buy toys?

Your day sounds lovely fanby. I hope little one got some relief from filling her nappy. A massage sounds brilliant. i need to put one on my to do list. Enjoy.
I've not tried the new app yet. I much prefer just to open the mobile site in Safari. I prefer pages and can't be doing with having the whole thread in one and having to flip it.

I hope ds is feeling better after his jabs fatty.

It's do annoying when you lose a post dozy. I try to remember to copy mine as I write so I can hit paste when that happens.

I don't miss being pregnant all lily! I really didn't enjoy it. I felt so sick all of the time. I felt amazing as soon as ds was born, despite having a difficult labour and emcs. I'm sure my body was just overjoyed to not be pregnant any more.
I have thought I can feel movement inside me on a few occasions which is a bit strange.

Your evening sounds fab clstow. And what a great way to get dh to see how hard it is. I hope he makes you feel very appreciated this weekend.

Have s good Saturday everyone and I hope there were good nights all round.

Frolicacid · 03/10/2015 05:53

X-posts dozy. Fingers crossed you're not going to be ill. I also lol'ed at the Charlie dimmok comment Smile.

Fanby · 03/10/2015 07:17

Ahh hope you're not getting poorly dozy, these babies are hard enough to look after, I can't imagine it'd be much fun doing it sick!

I too need new bras and can't be arsed!

Fanby · 03/10/2015 07:19

Oops also by fussing we get the full head shake as well as screaming at the boob. The screaming is usually when she's choking on turbo boob and I haven't noticed, or constipation as j discovered yesterday...

Well done little frolic for all of that sleep!! A lovely way to start the weekend I'd say!! xx

Joskar · 03/10/2015 07:41

Bra wearing makes no difference to sagginess of boobs. Size is the only thing that makes a difference and if you've got boobs the size of mine you need a bra to scoop them up from your waist! My friend who had a baby six weeks before me has itty bitty titties and in spite of having breastfed two bairns is able to wander Dimmock style no bother. I'll have black eyes if I carry on!

If you are getting a cold Dozy get yourself some Otrivine nasal spray. You can't take decongestants if breastfeeding because they reduce your supply. Otrivine is better anyway imo. Hope you're not though. It's a pita trying to look after a baby when you're not well.

Went out to the book group last night. Didn't get home til 12.30! Great night. Mostly they drank cocktails (I was driving because I had Dd2 with me) and had a good laugh. I think we mentioned the book a couple of times! So nice to be out even sober and with a baby! Feel like ass today though. Dd1 was up at 3 and then 6. She's having a CBeebies morning. Mr Tumble is doing childcare!

loveandsmiles · 03/10/2015 08:47

joskar lol at ittie bittie tittiesGrin - that's me!! - love being pregnant and breast feeding as they look great - unfortunately they shrivel back to nothing once I stop - may have to breast feed this little one forever to maintain my amazing boobies!!

fatty can't believe your DCs mobile so young - wow - that's hard work - none of mine walked until about 14 months - lazy babies!!

Another sunshiny day here - DS hass football match so off to cheer the team on - have a lovely day .............

sianihedgehog · 03/10/2015 09:05

I was actually just thinking that I kind of miss being pregnant too lily! I had a really easy time of it, I was just really uncomfortable because of the sheer size by the end, but I was still totally mobile and active. I went into labour while clearing massive boxes of rubbish out of the shed!! I miss how proud I felt of my body, I think, and how it felt like Fergus was there and interacting with me with kicks and wiggles but NOT crying and shitting!
Dozy I am SO JEALOUS of you not wearing a bra in bed. I leak constantly, and lose about 30ml from the other boob whenever I feed, so I'm having to wear a bra to hold the breast pads to protect the bed. :( I'm usually VP of the itty bitty titty committee and I HATE wearing a bra all the time!!

Dozygirl · 03/10/2015 10:21

Lol my boobs were big enough pre pregnancy and are now even bigger. I quite happily sleep in a bra but easier access for bf without. They only leak when exposed to the air for some reason. I just hate how giant and saggy they are because they are so heavy so I reckon they'll be even worse after breastfeeding. But as long as they look ok in a bra then that's all that matters because I've never gone bra less anywhere
