The old thread was getting dangerously close to 1000 messages, so thought I'd better start this one.

Oops I fell off! Brew

WLmum · 23/09/2015 23:07

Omg. I have spent the entire evening trying to get dd2 to sleep after a school activity scared her. I layed with her for 2.5 hours, have been up twice and am now getting into bed with her for the night. Argh.

Barbeasty · 24/09/2015 09:13

Oh no. Hope you ended up getting a decent night WL.

We've all got colds- A has lost his voice too and it's so cute. But DD announced this morning that her throat hurts. 1 day off antibiotics!

WL, snap i went to boogie bounce last night come home and DP was up the wall, he had taken H to bed early as she was up early. He said she fell asleep easily and then as he went to move her she woke up amd decided to play. It took me till just after 11pm to get her to sleep and she has woken early again in a awful mood.

Beasty, i hope your all better soon and poor Dd its awful when they are getting tonsillitis so often, hopefully the GP will arranged to have them removed soon.

WLmum · 24/09/2015 21:57

Where's DH with the icing sugar - these cakes for Macmillan won't finish themselves you know!

SpottyTeacakes · 25/09/2015 19:34

Woo hoo new app!!!

WLmum · 26/09/2015 09:22

Beautiful day!

Barbeasty · 26/09/2015 10:18

Well DD had the last dose of her super strong 2 week course of antibiotics on Wednesday. Today she has...... another bout of tonsillitis!!!! This is beyond rediculous.

It does mean today is less hectic for me though. DH is working, so I should have been setting out at about 7.30am to take DD to her swimming lesson, then straight onto ballet, try to call in at the farmers market on the way to drop her off with MIL and then back to the swimming pool for A's lesson and collapse in a heap when we got home sometime after 2pm. (Swimming is 15 miles away, ballet is about 12 miles from us as similar distance from swimming! ) Instead we had a leisurely trip to the market and I'll take A swimming later.

Enjoy the lovely weather. Makes such a difference!

Wow beasty sounds like a few quiet days are exactly what's needed!

WLmum · 26/09/2015 18:53

Poor thing beasty that sounds awful. Is she being referred?

MrsNutella · 26/09/2015 20:37

We have the most awful internet connection ever. Matched only by the most awful children Hmm DS is basically being his anti bed time self and I think DD is V close to walking.... It can't be more teeth! she has 12 already the giant, eat everything baby

So hello everyone! And I hope you're all well.

Barbeasty · 26/09/2015 21:51

Nutella hope it gets better! And it will.

WL they said when she had it in August that we could discuss referral if she got it again. Then when she got it earlier this month it was was a different GP who prescribed a monster dose of antibiotics and a throat swab to make sure it was targeting the right thing.

Exactly 3 days after the last dose and she's got it again. Her temp this evening was 39.8, so DH has just left with her for her ooh appointment. And I'll have to arrange yet another day working from home and try to get an emergency appointment on Monday. The way they've been so far I'll have to arrange a sit in to get them to refer her. I'm guessing the GPs get charged for referring, because I can't think why else they'd make her suffer like this. She was sobbing at bedtime, wishing she didn't get ill like this.

And A was horrid in his swimming lesson. I think it was a combination of hunger, tiredness and a hideous cold.

Oh beasty that's so sad Sad the referral will be rejected if it doesn't meet the criteria but I definitely think they should refer this time and I wouldn't leave until they agreed. Poor dd

Barbeasty · 26/09/2015 22:11

She met the criteria in August!

halestone · 27/09/2015 02:26

Oh Beasty poor Dd I hope she's better soon and they finally refer her for you. Its unfair on her and you also.Flowers

Nutella exciting stuff with the walking I'll be keeping a close eye out for a fb videoGrin

WLmum · 27/09/2015 12:36

beasty poor dd - that must be so painful and exhausting. Poor you too - it adds such an additional strain when they're poorly.
nutella bless you. Have you tried bribery for good bedtimes, the sandman will leave you a treat he knows you've gone to bed nicely - leave out a little dish that miraculously gets a sweet in it for morning.

NannyOggsHedgehogs · 27/09/2015 17:24

Ooh I might steal that wl r can be awful when tired and dh is bearing the brunt because s is attached and grumpy too at that time!!

utopian99 · 27/09/2015 21:15

Nutella I've been teaching O a form of relaxation techniques based on my hypnobirthinh exercises. He calls them his sleeping exercises and quite enjoys it as he knows I stay in the room with him to do them but they do genuinely help him calm down for sleep..

nanny how's it going with your new expanded family? Dh said he rather enjoyed the first few months, as me being attached to A meant he got some bonus bonding time with O..?

utopian99 · 27/09/2015 21:16

And thinking of your poor dd beasty. Sad

WLmum · 27/09/2015 23:46

Start my new job tomorrow - of course I should run fast asleep so I'm on top form but of course I'm wide awake.

WLmum · 27/09/2015 23:48

utopian I do some breathing exercises with my big 2 when they are upset which help but sometimes they are resistant to, but they always like listening to the 'sitting still like a frog' cd - it comes with a book and is great!

WLmum · 27/09/2015 23:49

Hope everyone enjoyed some beautiful weather today - was so warm here my dds all stripped off and ran round the garden and then rolled about getting as muddy as possible! Early bath!

Barbeasty · 28/09/2015 07:58

Good luck for today WL.
