The old thread was getting dangerously close to 1000 messages, so thought I'd better start this one.

Oh hopefully she can have them out and won't have to suffer anymore

WLmum · 13/08/2015 19:31

Interview was ok, nice and friendly but I guess we'll see. I'm exhausted now though.
spotty I guess there's pro's and cons - it's just that it was a complete surprise! Why was your day so awful? Wine

WLmum · 13/08/2015 20:02

Dh, dd1 and I layed out in the garden last night watching for meteors - it was one of those really magical family times.

SpottyTeacakes · 13/08/2015 20:06

It was just the afternoon I can't even remember but there was hitting(them not me!), shouting (all of us), general not listening etc and when I was trying to do dinner and wash up ds and dd had six wees between them and they were in onesies so needed poppering up each time!

WLmum · 13/08/2015 20:28

Just one of those days then spotty. Fx tomorrow is better. I've got some great craft ideas from Pinterest if you're stuck for rainy day stuff to do.

SpottyTeacakes · 13/08/2015 20:32

I'm working tomorrow thank goodness tbf it's the first bad day we've had of the holidays Grin plus I was up early and time of the month Hmm

My sister and bil are coming over tomorrow afternoon we haven't seen them since Easter Smile

Barbeasty · 14/08/2015 16:10

Well A was shut in his room for biting twice before we even left this morning. Got me and DH on our thighs.

Shoes done. DD got the only pair they had which fitted. And A chose the most expensive pair on offer.

Then hair cuts. A looks very different with 5 months of growth gone. Now we're at my dad's, waiting for dinner before we go home and MIL babysits so DH and I can go for a drink.

Barbeasty · 14/08/2015 21:37

Well the DC were hideous and I needed that drink. Roll on tomorrow!

Beasty i hope tomorrow is a better day for you.

Spotty how did today go?

WL i have my fingers crossed that you get whichever outcome you want from your interview.

H was coughing every 5 minutes last night as a consequence me and DP got no sleep. Then her cough magically disappeared at 8am this morning and hasn't been heard since. I sent DP for cough medicine just incase tonight is the same.

WLmum · 14/08/2015 23:00

Hope had a nice time with DH beasty. Maybe your dc have taken the baton from spottys dc - who's next [pushes dds to the ground]?
hales does H have asthma inhalers? Dd2 coughs loads at night if she hasn't had hers, but not so much in the day.
Anyone else having trouble with the mn Ap? I have to log in constantly and it won't show me the threads of the day.

utopian99 · 15/08/2015 05:04

I'm having the same issue wl, it's a pain. Any decision on the job front? I think I'd have the same issue as Nutella in terms of loss of patience with top diving. O stuck his hand down suddenly and without warning (out of the normal for him - he gave up without much caring at 1 yo,) and really hurt (twang ed a nipple BlushAngry ) I let out a proper shout of pain and he hasn't tried it since. He likes rounding them up and a friendly pat from outside my clothes though, which amuses dh and me a little.

spotty, hope yesterday was better - it's difficult when both are being grotty at once.

Happy birthday nutlet! That went so fast - the time suddenly seems to be speading by. How are things now you're looking at year two? Reminds me I need to sort out A's naming as we're combining it was his birthday..

utopian99 · 15/08/2015 05:13

Also meant to ask how H is hales?

Thanks for the new thread beasty - you've inspired O to nail potty training! He had his first pee on target two weeks ago, with some aiding and abetting, but which we greated with much fanfare. I'd promised him a new turntable for his trains (he picked it as a target prize, ) so we bought that. Since then he's suddenly sorted it and we've now had three accident free days, including a trip to ikea and a 1.5hrs train journey down and back to see my grandmother who is very unwell. Crazy, but hoping with a bit of vigilance from us that's it for days now.
Off on holidays with pil so if we get through that mostly okay on the potty front I'llebe really pleased!

SpottyTeacakes · 15/08/2015 06:12

Hales I agree. A nighttime cough in dd is a sign she needs to start using her inhalers.

Yesterday went much better thanks!

Well done O on potty training!

Dh and I both off next week so have lots planned.

DeladionInch · 15/08/2015 08:29

Night time cough with r was teeth, in case it's not the asthma thing

R's turn this morning. Except he's off running with dh so I'm still in bed and ignoring the carnage! He was fine up until dh tried to dress him - I've been getting him to do it "on mine self" all week!

I've been meaning to ask how everyone's doing with independence skills. R can do pants and shorts with minimal help, tee shirt if I put it on top of his head and help him get his hand to the sleeves, wellies/sandals/crocs but not proper shoes. Climbs in and out of the car seat, eats with a fork and spoon when he's not exhausted at tea time and needs it shovelled in (I'm trying to stop that but sometimes he's just too tired!)

halestone · 15/08/2015 10:51

We gave her inhalers last night and this morning and no cough. So it possibly is the Asthma, we had got abit lax about giving her them as she seemed ok.Blush

Delad H is ok getting dressed with the top half but struggles with her knickers and leggings. She manages her shoes fine though. My Niece stuggles with her knickers and leggings also.

WL i am joining you and also pushing H to the floor so she can't get the mischief baton.

Utopian yay well done to O.

I hope everyone has a lovely saturday.

halestone · 15/08/2015 10:52

I forgot to say i hope you and Dp have a lovely week off together Spotty.

WLmum · 15/08/2015 12:25

Glad she was better hales. Don't feel bad, every so often we stop with dd2 just to check that she does still need them.

SpottyTeacakes · 15/08/2015 13:21

Yep we've stopped with dd, we often do over the summer.

Dd has completed the summer reading challenge, she's v pleased with herself.

Odd question...when you give your dc a sandwich do you give them 'half' a sandwich with one slice of bread or a whole sandwich with two slices? Both mine still have one slice but I noticed at a friend her dd has two. Grin

SpottyTeacakes · 15/08/2015 13:22

Oh and thanks hales Smile

DeladionInch · 15/08/2015 13:31

1 slice if it's bog standard BoB size, 2 if it's tiger bread or my Mum's teeny hovis cardboard...

WLmum · 15/08/2015 14:36

T just told me that the cakes we're making for a friends birthday look like a toilet roll! Thanks, that's just the look I was going for!

Barbeasty · 15/08/2015 16:41

He's been better, she isn't, but we've started her on the antibiotics today so hopefully she'll be better in the next few days.

Hales hope the inhalers sort the night cough. My asthma manifests as a cough, and nights are always worst.

WL I'm sure a toilet roll cake looks and tastes lovely!

A often asks for help with socks, but can do everything else himself, so long as you don't expect it all to be the right way round etc!

WLmum · 16/08/2015 19:21

Man I'm tired. Went to a friends 40th party last night and dds and I stayed over, all in the same room. Dds didn't go to sleep til about 10. I went to bed about 2 but couldn't sleep, at 3 dd2 fell out of bed, at 3.30 dd1 wanted me to take her for a wee, at 4 I found a crying little boy on the stairs, T trod on me 3 times and we all got up at 7.20!!

SpottyTeacakes · 16/08/2015 19:30

Oh no WL that sounds like my worst nightmare Blush I only like my own bed.

Ds has started telling people that dh has a really big willy I wish dh is very pleased with this.

WLmum · 16/08/2015 20:10

Haha spotty. Tell them it all depends on your frame of reference!
I'm with you on the own bed - normally I take my own pillows whenever we sleep somewhere else but I didn't want to look rude and I had enough stuff with all our overnight stuff, pressies, cakes etc without DH to help. Bath and bed for me.
