The old thread was getting dangerously close to 1000 messages, so thought I'd better start this one.

Grin beasty
Party central here this weekend - 2 x 5th, 2 x 6th and a 40th! Crazy.

SpottyTeacakes · 13/09/2015 21:06

Both dc are ill. Dd worse than ds he's just coldy with a bit of a temp and cough. Dd's been spiking a temp of over 39 and is quite chesty. I'm upset she's got to miss school already. They've got a special day planned tomorrow too.

Barbeasty · 13/09/2015 21:08

That's good going WL

We're waiting for a Dr to call back (been waiting since 6pm!) DD had tonsillitis again in the week and this time the Dr gave us a prescription for 2 weeks of antibiotics. We knew we only had the first week, because it's only live for 7 days, but it transpired this evening the bottle the pharmacist gave us only had 5 days worth in. Today was day 5.

We tried calling a chemist which was still open, but they said we needed to call out of hours and get a prescription faxed to them. Out of hours said to just take the empty bottle to the chemist we'd just phoned. In the end they said a Dr would call us back. Arrgh.

Oh no Spotty. DD was off Wed- Fri. So about 50% attendance so far this year!

WLmum · 13/09/2015 21:27

Oh dear, hope they all feel better soon.
I've just checked dd2s pe kit ready for tomorrow only to discover that we didn't check it when term finished. I have one brand new pristine plimsole - most definitely not ours, and no sign of her tired old ones! I'm too ashamed to publically declare it and seek out its owner!

SpottyTeacakes · 14/09/2015 17:52

Dd woke up right as rain so went to school. Ds woke up crying because he couldn't talk (lost his voice!) still a bit croaky it sounds really sweet.

Beasty that's so frustrating hope you got it sorted.

WL that's really annoying I hate getting all their stuff together for school.

WLmum · 14/09/2015 19:15

spotty I bet he sounds adorable!

MrsNutella · 15/09/2015 20:53

Hello! We are at my Mum's in France so internet is vey patchy.

I am shattered! The packing and preparation for this trip felt like it was immense! Yesterday we arrived, it was a very long day with a change of planes in Paris.

Hope all the poorly smalls feel better soon. DS had a tummy bug over the weekend - teeny bit more stress added to the mountain of packing.

WLmum · 15/09/2015 22:02

nutella I hope it's a fun trip that's worth all the efforts!
I've just watched a TV program with bear grylls on snowdon - I'm
Doing the 3 peaks challenge next summer - excited and terrified!

halestone · 17/09/2015 10:56

Hi everyone, I've give up waiting for the app to come back and have braved the mobile site and a password change. I haven't read to far back so apologies if I miss anyone or anything important.

WL the 3 peaks challenge sounds like fun.

Nutella I hope you have a nice time in France with your mum.

Spotty and Beasty I hope your little ones are feeling better soon.

FoD blogging does sound cathartic, I always write things down when I am confused or upset as it helps me sort out my feelings.

Delad I hope things are going well for you at the minute.

Things here are the same as always except H is really clingy to me and screams if I go out of her eyesight. Which is hard when I'm going to work and I have just started Boogie Bounce so hopefully she will realize I am coming back and can spend some quality alone time with DP.

Barbeasty · 17/09/2015 14:19

Welcome back Hales!

WLmum · 18/09/2015 11:17

Hey hales! T is super clingy to me if I'm around but happy with whoever if I'm not. We've had a couple of mega standoffs where she's insisting I do something but I'm busy and wanting DH to do it.

halestone · 18/09/2015 23:18

Hi Beasty Grin

WL that's exactly like H. Its making things hard work but this to shall pass FX.

I handed H's Nursery forms into the local school this week. Then have had a bit of a scare where they have said there is only one place left on their list and H wasn't on it yet. I'm not suppose to know that yet though as I was told by a friend who works there. Its the same nursery DN goes to. So hopefully my friend will have better news next week. I think H really needs to go to Nursery now she's just ready IYSWIM except her refusal to poo on the toilet.

WLmum · 19/09/2015 07:14

T is going to start at the preschool attached to dd2s school in January - we've been on the waitlist for over a year! She'll go 3 afternoons until sept and then hopefully they'll be able to offer a couple of mornings too.

WLmum · 19/09/2015 22:58

So today T informed me that sharks fave food is beans on the bottom of the sea but they don't have mouths so they have to eat like this [crouching and jumping in the air]. Crazy but cute!

Barbeasty · 20/09/2015 21:19

That joyous moment when you've done bath time, got the children into bed, and your DD tells you her heads been itching and asks you to check it for nits.

An hour later and A had been woken up, and both children treated. Although I found about 10 little ones on DD and none on A (still got cradle cap though so not easy!)

Sounds sweet WL

A dressed himself this morning. As a pirate. He changed for lunch and to go out for his swimming lesson.....into his gruffalo onesie!!

WLmum · 20/09/2015 22:30

Ah beasty you have my sympathies. Bloody critters.

WLmum · 20/09/2015 22:31

Most impressed with self dressing. T is not convinced that I am not actually her lady in waiting.

SpottyTeacakes · 21/09/2015 06:37

Oh no I'm dreading head lice we've escaped so far.

Ds doesn't even pull his own pants up after he's had a wee!

Barbeasty · 21/09/2015 10:24

A is fiercely independent. He doesn't want help dressing. DH will fight with him and make things go on properly, but if I'm in charge he goes out with things on backwards and inside out. The other day he insisted on wearing DD's t-shirt.

OP posts:
halestone · 22/09/2015 11:06

Beasty, oh no I hate nits and treating them with a passion.

WL I love that T has obviously been thinking about sharks in a lot of detail.

H has just informed me that my breath smells disgusting. (I had garlic yesterday)

H can dress herself as well but struggles pulling them up over her bum cheeks so we have to do that part. She is obsessed with it at the moment though and has at least 5 outfit changes in a dayShock

WLmum · 22/09/2015 21:40

hales kids say the kindest things don't they!
beasty I'm with you - T goes out in all kinds of crazy outfit - she doesn't dress herself but has clear ideas about what she will and won't wear at any given time. DH has finally learnt that it's not worth the fight.

WLmum · 23/09/2015 08:45

Last day in the big smoke today.

SpottyTeacakes · 23/09/2015 08:51

Oh good luck WL!

halestone · 23/09/2015 09:53

Enjoy your last day WL.
