The old thread was getting dangerously close to 1000 messages, so thought I'd better start this one.

Beasty hurrah for DD! Hope it all goes smoothly for you. Will it be at a children's hospital? DS had his adenoids out at the local children's hospital and it was interesting how they dealt with the little ones.
There is another big hospital locally and a friend's DD had her tonsils out there. The experience was still fine, just different.

Hales the biggest problem is all the sorting out will happen downstairs and all the junk will move upstairs to our office and then I'll have to go through some of it again Confused but that's only to sort out the piles of chuck/donate/sell... Hopefully.

And big yes to the keeping touch with people that make an effort. It's too much to keep chasing after people, especially those that don't have kids. Then when you have to take into account your own kids routines (DS in particular does not cope well too far out of routine) etc. It really is best to do what is best for you. No need to add extra stress. X

Great news beasty
Fingers crossed that dd doesn't mind her casts too much spotty

ddas · 30/01/2016 09:25

nutella great idea to send letters. We're all so connected now with Skype, phones etc but there is something very exciting and special about receiving a letter.
spotty hopefully the time in casts will go by quickly.
feel a big weight off my shoulders not having to constantly make a big effort with some friends which not reciprocated rather than feeling sad about it. Maybe at a later point in life we'll be back on the same page.

MrsNutella · 30/01/2016 11:35

Ddas I think WL has said it ;but whomever it was it bears repeating - "They won't always be this small". At the moment there a lots of things we don't do because he stress and hassle isn't worth it for us. If it's going to make us all unhappy, then what's the point?

I often use Christmas as a focus. It's going to be different every year as they get bigger. They will have proper wishes for gifts, possibly for food too, we will have our own family "traditions" so many little things to look forward to. They will be forever changing, I'm not wishing the time away, just looking forward and being happy about watching hem grow and change.

And my mum loved getting our letter Grin there was a very short note that I wrote to explain what it was and then a little drawing from DS and one from me that he "helped" with. He often asks if there is post for him. My mum is really excited about sending him something. I've asked her not to send a postcard, but a letter, so that he can open it. I'm really looking forward to his response.

What a lovely post nutella

MrsNutella · 31/01/2016 21:22

WL it would have been even lovelier if he hadn't been insane this weekend. I hope he is having some kind of brain burp. He was mad this evening. There is no other word for it!

ThreeFrazzledFandangos · 31/01/2016 21:58

Good luck to your DDs Beasty and Spotty. Hope all goes well.

The letter idea is so cool Nutella. Hope he's excited Smile

Went out with a new group of meet up ladies today. They were all so nice! Had a great time. I also went to yoga first thing. Nice and calming.

WLmum · 31/01/2016 23:26

Brilliant frazzled!
We bumped into dd2s reception teacher (last year) at the swimming pool today - poor woman! Luckily she was a fantastic teacher and we all loved her, but perhaps not so great from her side!

Barbeasty · 01/02/2016 13:38

Thanks Frazzled, glad you're doing a bit better.

DD isn't well, so we're keeping everything crossed that she's allowed to have the surgery tomorrow.....

Dad is back on hospital with pneumonia, having had 2 chest infections since the pneumonia before Christmas. We can't visit because all of us have colds and I still have a cough and don't think my pre-Christmas chest infection has quite cleared up.

And to top it all off the washing machine broke yesterday, and the drying washing dripped and made a pool on the floor which my laptop bag soaked up like a sponge. Bye bye paperwork!

Hugs Beasty that all sucks :(

I work with teens. The number of times I've run into them in a pub is embarrassing!

halestone · 01/02/2016 23:35

Beasty Flowers i hope thats your 3 sets of bad luck and that tomorrow is goes ahead. Hope everything goes smoothly.

Nutella, there must be something in the air H has been nuts as well.

MrsNutella · 02/02/2016 09:16

Hales I think he must be growing or something. He seems more tired than normal and is more mad than normal even for him

Beasty I hope your week only improves from here on in. Winefor you and BrewThanks for your dad.

Barbeasty · 02/02/2016 12:23

Well, we did all the pre-op stuff and then they cancelled the operation because of DD's cold. They'll push it out 2-4 weeks to make sure she's over it. So she's back to school.

So we no longer have the time we thought not needing to do the washing (I hadn't finished washing DD's uniform). I decided to try washing her shirts so she doesn't do another day in a polo shirt (strictly summer uniform!) and just wring them out before tumble drying. Except the washing machine tripped the electrics half way through! I'll have to hand wash the soap out before drying now. At least I know the washing machine is well and truly dead and the replacement arrives on Thursday. A will be happy, a washing machine was on his Christmas list Hmm

Oh no beasty what a nightmare!

MrsNutella · 02/02/2016 18:33

Beasty BrewThanksCake for you. Glad the washing machine arrives soon.

Ours broke last January, that wasn't fun either, we still had both in cloth nappies then Confused

ThreeFrazzledFandangos · 02/02/2016 19:54

Oh no Beasty. Still better than operating when she's not fighting fit.

halestone · 03/02/2016 18:42

Beasty WineFlowers what a rubbish week for you.

I am a bad mum, H just had a chocolate mini egg amd was trying to crack it on the side of the bowl it was in. I didn't tell her why i was laughing until she demanded to know why it wouldn't break so she could eat the white bit Grin

halestone · 05/02/2016 10:36

H is still asleep from 9:30 last night. It would be a good thing but i have loads to do. If i wake her she will be in a awful mood all day.

MrsNutella · 05/02/2016 11:05

Hales I was his thinking of you this morning. Hope you're all well, and things are becoming "routine" / "normal" for you all.
Let me know how H is Grin if she and DS are doing the same brain burp it would be nice to know when I can expect it to be over!!

He seems to be speaking even more, they already said at Kindergarten that he is quite advanced in his speech. It was something I hadn't expected to hear. I thought he was very normal except for the constant running around bit
DS needs a good rest actually. He had us awake a lot during the night Confused today there is a big party at Kindergarten so I'm hoping he will have a little nap later.

WLmum · 05/02/2016 21:31

hales I can only dream of dds being asleep at that time!

nutella I hope you and ds got a rest. T comes in to me virtually every night - usually once but it can be more. She clambers in for a quick cuddle before I take her back.
Hang on to the conversations about imaginary friends and poo for as long as possible - had a chat with dd1 tonight about the zika virus Sad

SpottyTeacakes · 06/02/2016 06:26

Ds up at 5:30 and dd coughing all night with a fever

ThreeFrazzledFandangos · 06/02/2016 14:44

DS came in with me at 2am and weed in my bed at 4:30.

I feel the pain of the tiredness Spotty

SpottyTeacakes · 06/02/2016 14:52

Oh no! Dd was sick in our bed this morning but luckily it was dh side.

We went to ooh this morning and she has antibiotics.

Barbeasty · 06/02/2016 18:59

Spotty love the way you're looking on the bright side there!

We're getting a huge amount of bribery from letting A press buttons on the washing machine.

DD is now on antibiotics for tonsillitis. Oh the irony! Still waiting for the new date.

WLmum · 06/02/2016 23:07
