The old thread was getting dangerously close to 1000 messages, so thought I'd better start this one.

Frazzled that sounds awful, I always find something cold eases the itch if the creams not working.

MrsNutella · 08/10/2015 20:08

Frazzled do you have some natural yoghurt? That should help ease it as well... Definitely agree with those saying use pessaries. And use a cream even after the itch is gone (for 3-5 days I think). Hope you're getting some relief by now though. And yes sugar feeds the bastard fungus!

(Which translated from German is "mushrooms in the intimate area". Not at all embarrassing to speak to the chemist bout your intimate bits. Oh no....)

hales how is DN eye? I hope she is ok.

DD is still not walking and I had really sore arms from carrying her so much on Holiday - seriously I can no longer lift my left arm above shoulder height! I think the next lot of teeth are coming Confused

ThreeFrazzledFandangos · 08/10/2015 23:42

Ha I used canestan for a couple of days and it started to make me really sore in addition to the itch.

I did have natural yoghurt whapped on there for a couple of days. I smelled delightful!

Now it's on the mend and I'm just leaving it to its own devices! obviously by it I mean fandangos fanjo

Barbeasty · 09/10/2015 20:05

Hope you are well on the way to recovery Frazzled.
And your niece Hales.
I'm exhausted. A combination of the DC waking in the night and me waking up early over the last few nights. Then DD was getting a certificate at assembly this morning and it overran so much I had to run for my train and set my asthma off!!

A made playdoh at nursery yesterday and insisted on bringing it home. DH asked why he'd made a brain. He's been a bit emotional today. Nursery said that all the children who've gone down with an illness which is a temperature for a day, better then another day of temperature have been like this just before. Oh joy.

Oh no beasty! Hope you had inhalers handy. Fx A escapes the lurgy.

Barbeasty · 10/10/2015 10:49

Thankfully I had an in date inhaler in my bag.

A and I had the flu vaccine this morning, so if he was going to go down with something he's bound to now.

We've got Flushed on the TV at the moment. A's main concern is that the rat should wash his hands after falling down the toilet.

My child is a properly overtired mess today.

Don't think there's a single thing we've fine that he hasn't cried at. More than happy to see bedtime!

NannyOggsHedgehogs · 11/10/2015 21:17

Over tired is a semi permanent state of affairs here, poor lad has a cough and is waking stupidly early. He's OK in himself and if it wouldn't cause huge drama with him thinking he was being punished I'd keep him off school tomorrow. Between that and littlest's colic this is not a sleep-blessed house Hmm

Barbeasty · 11/10/2015 21:24

Sending sleepy dust all round.

We had an overtired A stropping at everything, especially at DD when she ate his icecream, and an overtired DD stropping at being caught out eating A's icecream! Her reasoning- he wasn't eating it and it's everyone else's fault because they know she just eats and eats Hmm

Oh dear, fx for some sleep! We're doing ok on that front now after a tricky week.
We've had a fun busy weekend but we're having to go all boot camp on dd1. I've mentioned this before on here - being a long awaited pfb she's been very indulged by us and gps and has a tendency to be rather entitled and selfish as she's getting older. I'm determined to rescue her from the dark side with a bit of tough love!

ThreeFrazzledFandangos · 11/10/2015 23:26

He's been refusing to go to bed before 9pm all week since we got back from Menorca. I think it hit him like a tonne of bricks today. Poor tired little dude.

Ooh tough love WL. Good luck.

Barbeasty · 12/10/2015 08:18

Bless.

Better tough love now than when she's a nightmare 18 year old WL!

Both DC went to sleep ok, but DD woke after a nightmare around midnight and then A woke having wet the bed just after 2am. I got back to sleep somewhere between 3.30 and 4, then got up at 5.30 for work!

A is ill. Temperature and not eating or happy. Who knows whether it's the virus from nursery or the flu vaccine (or both!)

Hi everyone, FX that everyone gets or has had the sleep they need.

WL, tough love sounds like a good plan, but horrible for you it will be worth it thoughFlowers

Beasty and Nanny I hope A and R are feeling better soon.

Thanks for asking about DN's eye it isn't bloodshot any longer. She is back with the eye specialist in the morning and my Dsis has asked me to go with them. So will know more tomorrow.

Our Doctor's surgery rang this morning and booked H in for a nasal flu spray. I have said yes but don't know how I feel about it really. My judgment is clouded by the fact that the only time I have ever had proper flu was after the only Flu jab I have had. What is everyone else feeling about it? Beasty do you think it contributed to A being poorly?

SpottyTeacakes · 12/10/2015 12:28

I've had the flu jab every year for 16 years with no adverse effects, it's not a live vaccine so shouldn't cause anything too bad. Dd is having the nasal spray (asthma) but I won't bother getting ds done. I have to say though that my judgement may also be clouded due to the fact that no one in my family has ever had flu.

NannyOggsHedgehogs · 12/10/2015 14:24

I appear to have been under dressing S Blush he slept 9-2 and 2:30-5:30 in a sleeping bag plus blanket last night!

R is coughing but no other symptoms, it's only been 4 days so am holding off the GP for now. I have liquid steroid that was prescribed when he had croup, and I was told to hold onto it in case it came back. In date for another month so I might give him a shot of that tonight?

Fx for tomorrow Hales

I'm not bothering with the flu vaccine, chances are it won't protect against the right strain of flu anyway.

WLmum · 12/10/2015 23:03

It's working already! She's been much better today and is starting to accept the cause and effect whereas she just wouldn't listen before. Few more weeks and she'll be an angel!
T and dd2 will be having the flu spray - I have had flu once and it was hideous. Dd2 is asthmatic and T is in the target age group. Them having the vaccination also helps to stop the spread as per other nasties.

Barbeasty · 13/10/2015 10:18

If the spray had anything to do with A being ill it will only be that he was already going down with something when his body also started making flu antibodies.

I have the vaccine because if asthma, and I don't think it will do any harm for both DC to be vaccinated. Let's face it, the less time DD is off on top of tonsillitis the better!!

OP posts:
halestone · 13/10/2015 22:57

DN eyesight is hopefully going to be ok she has to go back in 2 weeks but everything went perfectly todayGrin

Thank you everyone, H will be having the spray tomorrow. We've lost nothing by her having it and like you say she already has Asthma I don't want to make that worse if she comes down with Flu.

WL yay well done to you and Dd1 Flowers

NannyOggsHedgehogs · 14/10/2015 06:05

Good news Flowers

SpottyTeacakes · 14/10/2015 06:33

Yes hales with her history I would def give her the fluenz.

Barbeasty · 14/10/2015 15:31

Note to self: when you hear a blood curdling scream from the bathroom, take camera. Then I might have got a photo of A when he fell down the toilet last night!! He'd slipped in bottom first, and just his head and feet were sticking out with his hands desperately clinging to the seat. I didn't feel I could leave him while I went back downstairs to get my phone and get a picture.....

Oh Beasty, I hope you didn't laugh. Nothing huffier than a 2 yo with injured pride! Grin

Glad to hear about DN Hales. Jamie's having his nasal spray next week. I'm a big fan of vaccinations.

I'm in Switzerland! Guten abend! Sat at an airport hotel bar on my Todd like a loser!

WLmum · 14/10/2015 19:10

frazzled a bar on my own sounds like heaven!

ThreeFrazzledFandangos · 14/10/2015 19:19

But it's Zurich so a drink costs about £14!

ThreeFrazzledFandangos · 14/10/2015 19:19

Although I do have a solo hotel room and my kindle. Now that's heaven!
