The old thread was getting dangerously close to 1000 messages, so thought I'd better start this one.

Frazzled enjoy the hotel room! Gah I am soooo jealous! Ein schöne ruhige Nacht! (I wish you a nice quiet night).

Beasty I have some great pictures of DS where I might have been a better parent if I hadn't paused to take the picture... But well.... Some things need to be photographed Grin

DS has refused a nap, yesterday and today. I wouldn't mind... If he wouldn't be such an arsehole because he is so tired! Angry seriously, a tired DS is an unrelenting arsehole. All day looooooooooong.

NannyOggsHedgehogs · 14/10/2015 20:46

The toddler minus nap goes whinge whine howl, whinge whine howl, whinge whine howl, the toddler minus nap goes whinge whine howl, all day long...

WLmum · 14/10/2015 22:21

Ugh even a night in a hotel alone (well three nights actually) is not worth at 4am get up for the flight.

Which is delayed Shock this is Switzerland! They are NEVER delayed!

halestone · 15/10/2015 09:38

She had the flu spray it was surprisingly easy I thought she may kick up a fuss. The nurse said studies have shown that the spray also reduces the amount of colds you get by 80% so FX that's right.

Frazzled I hope your home safe and sound now.

Nanny I am impressed with your musical prowessGrin

Nutella H doesn't nap now unless we go out in the car for over 10 minutes. And either way when we get to 4pm she becomes a mini terrorist.

MrsNutella · 15/10/2015 12:56

frazzled you sold definitely complain to someone! You're right, that sort of thing does not happen in Switzerland..... In Germany however.... Well, ruthless German efficiency is a huge and cruel myth! It does not exist! I promise. You need not ask anyone else ever. This is an absolute truth with no exception.... Probably

Nanny you have that spot on! I'm curious to see if he naps at Nursery today. So glad they are finally open again!!!! Grin

Hales I know. I hoped he would keep his nap forever for a little while longer.... This potential new state of no napping is sad and unfair!

WLmum · 16/10/2015 22:04

How old is my baby? Did I intentionally bf her to sleep for a nap today? Bloody hell.

halestone · 17/10/2015 12:35

WL sometimes you have to do what you have to do to get some peace.

I have some good news H is finally poking on the toilet yay she's been doing it for a week and I didn't want to jinx it by saying anything. There have been a few accidents but not in the last couple of days. She is so proud of herself but not as much as I am proud of her Grin

WLmum · 17/10/2015 21:11

Great stuff hales

WLmum · 17/10/2015 22:31

Funniest baby congrats I ever saw today - one of the school mums just had her 3rd dc and there was a serious autocorrect fail - 'hope you get to take her home soon' posted as 'hope you get to take heroin soon'! So inappropriate! Lucky they're a good bunch!

Barbeasty · 18/10/2015 20:14

A was so tired when we got back from swimming that when DH sat him on the stairs for a second he lay back and fell fast asleep. Of course, that means he's still singing away to himself now.

He decided he wanted a cd on earlier, but the cd player is in DD's room. She was fast asleep (tonsillitis again ) but he wondered in and put it on. Right by her head. Loud enough for him to hear in his room across the house!

Thankfully DD got back to sleep quickly. And I'm collecting another CD player from Argos tomorrow!!

WLmum · 18/10/2015 22:07

Ah we had CD player gate here tonight too. All 3 dds like to have Mozart on at bedtime, T has been having it on my phone via Spotify. Dm has lent us another little CD player which will be much easier - especially when T wakes in the night and insists on music. T went nuts about it not being on my phone. It's all part of her general mummy obsession - I stood my ground but am fully expecting a further battle if she wakes in the night.

WLmum · 19/10/2015 07:23

Right tough love with dd1 working nicely, time to repeat with dd3. I just cannot keep getting up in the night. I know you've heard it 18,000 times before, but no more boobs - ever!! That is it!

NannyOggsHedgehogs · 19/10/2015 08:14

Stick a plaster on and tell her they're poorly

MrsNutella · 19/10/2015 12:48

WL I hope you get it sorted soon and without too much fighting and tears.

now some unsolicited help - I'm not sure if I've said this before, but a friend who wanted to give up feeding her DD (she was 2 years something old) put lemon on her nipples and told her DD that her milk had gone bad. She said it worked a treat (and her DD finally started sleeping better at night- which she was really not expecting and was pissed off about. She had only kept up feeding at night to help her terrible sleeper Confused )

Grin

And on Saturday DH lifted DS to do a wee (like you would with a girl, because DS has a tendency to get it everywhere) and DS managed to wee on DH's shoes Grin hahahaha

WLmum · 19/10/2015 20:16

nutella all unsolicited advice welcome, especially when it hits the spot! I love that advice and will give it a go if necessary - and you're right, the thing I'm fed up with is the night waking not the feeding, but they go hand in hand - she is happy with just 2 minutes but that's 2 minutes several times a night and I really feel that I've paid my dues in that regard.

WLmum · 19/10/2015 20:16

Also nutella haha!

MrsNutella · 19/10/2015 20:25

His willy was sort of stuck and DH assumed that the action of weeing would sort of lift it a bit. It still makes me chuckle, we had to pull over the car when DS announced "I need a wee wee" and there was a handy grassy patch. They were facing away from me so I just saw the wee running down and hitting DH's shoe Grin I did jump out and offer tissues once they were done.

Seriously WL I hope you get what you want and some sleep to boot would be lovely!

DS is mostly sleeping with us at the moment. We have given up. Fighting him takes too long and had no effect. We wonder if it is something to do with having been away on holiday for so long. We're waiting a bit and will tackle it when we need to but we are out of ideas and energy at the moment.

SpottyTeacakes · 20/10/2015 05:45

Ds is going through a funny phase atm Nutella like he's struggling with his emotions. He gets angry and sad quickly. Last night he slept 12 hours and then wet the bed in the morning which isn't like him. Actually the night before last he's still in bed right now!

Good luck WL

MrsNutella · 20/10/2015 12:36

Spotty I wonder if it is a development thing? He seems desperate to have us close at night, and doesn't want to be on his own.... Fortunately we have a big bed! Grin

SpottyTeacakes · 20/10/2015 14:36

I'm assuming it is for the sake of my sanity Grin

Barbeasty · 20/10/2015 14:48

WL when I stopped feeding DD I told her the clothes I was wearing didn't work for feeding (maternity stuff I was wearing for A) and she accepted that. Maybe a new pair of PJs? And she finally started sleeping through when I stopped feeding (25.5 months). Whereas A was never a problem like that and stopped feeding himself.

So A got his new CD player last night. He stopped singing along to the hokey coke, having a one man disco at about 9.45pm. He was not impressed when DH got him up at 7am to go to granny's!

OP posts:
WLmum · 20/10/2015 21:25

beasty I love the Hokey Cokey! I don't know why really, I just do!
Last night we had a short battle after she fell out of bed (I think) - I was firm and she was upset, I said she could have some boobies in the morning but I lied! She asked for them as soon as she woke but I managed to distract her. Was firm again at bedtime - she doesn't normally have any then. Touch wood it's going ok.
Dd2 was up in the night too worrying about villains getting in the house. Sigh.

WLmum · 21/10/2015 07:49

Woo-hoo, just one nocturnal visitor, swiftly returned to bed with minimal fuss!
