Poor you KZ, maybe that is why. Hopefully ds will recover in time for christmas then i think you will have had your fair share of bugs and be healthy for the rest of tge winter

Leo woke up btw

prettymum · 23/12/2006 22:32

oh lord!!! junior is on my lap right now tired but chattering away to himself!!!

oh i hope all the babies get better soon, especially in time for xmas!!! {{{{{hugs}}}}}

kbaby- i just count juniors age monthly, im lost with weeks and have given up keeping up with weeks!!

re weight, i lost all my pregnancy weight and belly within 2 weeks and into my size 8 jeans!! now i cant fit into them and my belly is starting to come out!!! i just love to eat to much and not the excercise!!!!

im gonna get off now and see if i can get this child off to sleep!!

kbaby · 23/12/2006 22:32

well my night is going to be bloody brilliant and im going to sleep all night.

Mum has dd and ds tonight so he can wake all he wants although she says he sleeps and settles easily so im making her remember how.

prettymum · 23/12/2006 22:34

kbaby enjoy the peaceful night!!!!

can your mum look after mine????

DecktheWallacewithBoughsofHoll · 23/12/2006 22:37

Have a good nights sleep kbaby! Does this mean I will def win knackered mummy award tomorrow?

I count in moths now as i have lost count in weeks. I use calendar months eg he will be 5 months on christmas day as he was born on 25th july

kbaby · 23/12/2006 22:56

I guess I will let you have a borrow of the award for 1 night

im still uming and arhing about weaning, technically hes not 5 months until 2nd jan but hes 20 weeks, he still seems to young to wean but then im hoping food may make him sleep better. Whats best? weaning him to solids and bf now or weaning him to ff now?

On a note. mil put a chocolate button on his lip yesterday for him to have a taste when she looked after him, I mean what is it with grandmothers!! as if I want the first solid food he has to be chocolate. Luckily dd told her he wasnt allowed food until he is older, so im hoping i can get her to spy on mil for me.

KZ - so glad to hear Roshi's a bit better today and back on her milk.

Kbaby and Wallace - I feel so sorry for you both. I think sleeping problems are just about the worst. I've been waking Aidan up the last couple of nights with coughing - grrr!

Figgypud - you stopping bf almost by accident is pretty much what happened to me. Although I did finally make the decision to stop feeding him, that was only after he had started making it quite clear he was much more interested in his bottle. I was actually in tears about it yesterday. And within two days, lo and behold AF was back - that really rubbed salt in the wound!

Re AF ladies, I was amazed and delighted that I had NO PAIN for the first time in literally years. Is the first one typical of the ones to come, or could this be a one off do you think?

We're going to my mum and dad's for Xmas day so I've got off lightly with the preparations. In fact our house doesn't really look Christmassy at all and there's no room for a tree because of all Aidan's stuff! Just finished wrapping all the presents this evening. Except my one which I had to go and buy would you believe?! To be fair, DH has been working outside in the sub zero temps and commuting 2 hours each way in the fog so I suppose I can forgive him!

To anyone I don't speak to before, have a great Christmas!!

TwinkleInSantasEye · 24/12/2006 00:03

Kbaby - Aidan's 21 weeks and I started weaning him a couple of weeks ago. As he's still pretty young I've been taking it very slowly and I stopped solids for a couple of days whilst he's been poorly to make sure he still took enough milk. Can't say I've noticed any difference in his behaviour/sleeping on such small amounts. I think it's a common misconception that early solids can help with sleeping through (sorry!). Why would you need to wean to ff? Is that to do with the sleeping? If you're wanting to wean to formula anyway then maybe do that first, then see how he goes and introduce solids if you think he needs them?

xmasstocking · 24/12/2006 10:59

KZ - glad that Roshi appears to be on the mend - lets hope it continues

Kbbay - how jealous am I of you about your weight - I now weigh more than I did when I was 9 months pg and have had to order loads of work clothes from the Next sale that I can actually fit into as I have no chance of dieting into my old stuff!!

Thought Josh was better yesterday as he kept all his milk down - although he was particularly grumpy and sleepy! However, by the time we had changed his 6th dirty nappy of the day we figured something wasn't quite right and lo and behold when I was changing him out squirted about 3 lots of diaorrhea (sp?) onto the changing mat (TMI I know!) - it is so glamorous being a mum isn't it, particularly on a Saturday night!! Anyway, he vomited again this morning so we took him to the doctor who said it was likely to be gastroentritis (sp?) which we had guessed and prescribed some dioralyte and just said to let it run it's course.

Am a bit worried about taking him away - he will be fine at my parents as they won't be bothered if he vomits everywhere but BIL's gf is a complete 'clean' freak and I will be so paranoid about him vomiting in their house - guess I will be feeding him in the kitchen which has a stone floor

Anyway, must go as loads to do today, pressies to wrap, mince pies to bake etc. so Merry Christmas to you all and your lo's and families.

Love Charlotte and Josh

PS Gonna miss these festive smileys

Hi all

I don't seem to have anytime to post recently although I did see your post about the Next sale Prettymum! £200 later... Thank you!

The Christmas rush has begun here, my nan arrived to stay with us last night, have friends arriving in a couple of hours and have to pick up DP's nan tomorrow morning. This would all be great if Zack would let me have some decent sleep.
I can't take your award kbaby but things are still awful, he wakes every 1.5-2 hours all through the night. I am officially knackered and have taken to crying through sheer exhaustion and frustration.

On a good note weaning is going well, favourites being porridge, carrot and sweet potato! We're going to try pear today. I was dreading weaning but I'm actually really enjoying it and he is already on 2 meals a day. ( has made no difference to sleep tho )

Zack seems fairly frustrated at the mo, he is desperate to sit alone and get about hopefully it won't be too long now- then I'll be in trouble!! You never know it might tire him out! See I'm an eternal optimist

I hope you all have a very merry christmas, eat lots, drink lots and most importantly sleep lots!!

i will probably sit here for another hour trying to decide what to pack!!

well merry chritsmas everyone, just try and forget all the stress and enjoy yourselves!!!

DecktheWallacewithBoughsofHoll · 24/12/2006 21:03

Happy Christmas

IamBlossom · 24/12/2006 21:20

hmmm can't compete with KBaby or Usand but Toby woke twice last night for a bottle which I am NOT used to and then DS1 up at 5.45, so I feel tres tired and am going to sleep in a min. Have sunk half a bottle of champers with my MIL (who is lovely) but have a STINKER of a cold so can't feel the effects...?? Weird...

Had a lovely time at my parent's annual Chrimble Eve drinks party, and am PRAYING my dad is in a good mood tomorrow and doesn't piss off my DH or it will be the last Christmas Day we spend there...

All pressies are under the tree, an OBSCENE amount, so looking forward to tomorrow.

Merry Christmas everybody.

Much Love,

Jenny, Harry, and Toby AKA, Bloss, DS1 and 2.

KZ - that's awful

HC - enjoy your game. I am just trying to figure out which od their new games I have the patience to play with the kids tonight...

I have just sort of started weaning Leo after he scoffed a whole banana (not mashed!) when he nicked it from me

KZ, poor Roshi & DS , really hope things improve soon.

Just sitting here eating some great cheese (I love Boxing Day) and may have a glass of wine in a min whilst watching crap telly. My family (aka DS's fan club) have just left after much adoration and lots of pressies. He's now sitting up unaided for about 10 secs before faceplanting on the rug . I've also progressed from boobing him to sleep for naps to shoving a dummy in his mouth and cuddling him whilst bouncing gently on my birth ball, which is a start I suppose. He's been a bit unsettled at nights, had a few waking up every 1-2 hrs. Settled easily each time, but pretty wearing not to get unbroken sleep. Last night was better (and only one feed at about 3.30) so fingers crossed for tonight.

prettymum · 27/12/2006 14:52

hello all!!!

kz- oh i do hope roshi and ds are better now!! {{{{hugs}}}}

well we came back early this morning from friends house after spending xmas with them!!! the food was lovely!!!! dps friends wife is a brilliant cook!!

but their kids!! what can i say, i had the biggest headache all throughout our stay there!!

they have four kids ranging from 1-9 yrs and they fight and scream at one another and the parents dont discipline them!!

they go bed at 2 in the morning and i just hope dd and junior will not be fussing at bedtime tonight as they could not sleep because of noise!!

the sister of the wife was telling her that she needs to do something because the kids just talk back to parents and dont take them seriously!!

other than the kids being rowdy we did have a pleasant time bad glad to back home to peace!!
