kzed, xmas and sammysmum- hope your little ones get better soon, thats the worst thing, not knowing if your baby is getting enough milk!!

theres nothing new here, junior laughs so much now and is sitting up and is occasionally falling flat on his face and ends up nearly suffocating!!

he tries to grab everything near him, thats the first step to him wanting to touch everything!! soon i'll have to be putting everything away out of his reach!!

boots always gives money to each store to take staff out, but our mananger takes the piss, she doesnt do it properly!! last year we ended up having a little picnic upatairs in canteen were we could nibble on things during our lunch break!!

regarding breasts and dp, i stopped bf after 6 weeks so only last 2 weeks have i felt comfortable for dp to claim them back for himself!!

anyways, both kids in bed now so will tidy up, get a glass of lambrusco ( supervisor had a box of them for his party and he gave me a bottle to take home after greedily asking were mine was!!)

Well, here I am covered in sick-and it smells! I don't think it is bothering her apart from the fact she is ravenous now. Yet another clean sleepsuit required. Oh, spoke too soon, she has cried and sicked up all the milk. Am not going to give her any more tonight-just put her to bed...........

She is having a good yell but sucking her thumb and bashing her cot toy so fingers crossed.

sammy-hope your visit to the GP is successful. Frustrating isn't it?

xmas-hope you are able to take Josh tomorrow.

Twinkle-any news on the work situation?

krimbo-how are the boobs? Am dreading this point in my life. Think it will take longer than 2 weeks before DH is allowed anywhere near.

Sophie is still crying-this is unlike her. Might give her 10 mins and offer some Calpol. She will probably sick that up too.

My syringes come with bottles of Nurofen-they are a Godsend.

Going to have to go and get her. Bye for now and hugs to all.

kbaby · 17/12/2006 21:12

Thanks everyone for the kind words. Im just fed up as there seems no solution.

Krimbo ? Hes 19 weeks old now. If you put him down and leave him he will cry until he is sick, He does have a dummy but it dosnt seem to settle him and makes no difference. He naps in the day every 2hrs or so and you just cuddle him to sleep and then he goes down fine 9 times out of 10, it?s the nights which are the problem. I know DD used to put herself to sleep from about 5 months old but do you think I can remember how. He was as bad tonight I cuddled him at 7.30 to sleep put him down and before I had got to the bottom of the stairs he woke again. Ive now just come down again so that?s over 1hr of trying to get him to stay in his cot.
You?ve done really well to give her breast milk upto 24 weeks esp as you?ve pumped all that time. You are amazing for having done so long.

Twinkle- You got it spot on. I cant get any sleep during the day as I do have a dd, my mum has both on Saturday nights so at least I always have that to keep me going. He was in our room but we moved him thinking it may help, I then bring him into bed at 4-5amish when he wakes for his feed as he will never settle after that feed on his own. He was treated for silent reflux a while back but as all the symptoms went we stopped his medication. Maybe its worth restarting

Maewest ? DH will help out on occasions but he is as fed up as I am plus he has work the next morning. I hope your night is better tonight.
Xmas ? I hope josh is better now and keeping some feeds down. We were advised to give 5ml of water in a syringe every 30 mins to keep ds hydrated when he was ill. I wouldn?t take him for his jabs if hes still off, tell DH they wont do it anyway.
Frosty- I don?t want DH touching my boobs at the mo but im still feeding plus my libido is on the floor so Im hoping it will return when ive finished bf

FrostytheSnowman · 17/12/2006 21:48

kbaby-(((((xxxxx))))) to you. Still don't know what to say. Have you managed to get any sleep yourself?

I am still BF and intend to do so as long as possible and I can assure you that my libido is lower than yours. Don't know what is wrong with me-DH now beyond desperate!

Too many posts - can't catch up!
Sympathies to those with babies and kids with the sickness bug.

kbaby - I know how you're feeling. It is the same settling Leo

Amazingly tonight he is asleep. After the second time I put hi down and he woke up after about 10 mins. He was crying, but still had his eyes closed. I was just about to go in and get him, but I switched off the landing light outside our room first. As soon as the light went out he stopped crying and went to sleep I wonder if he doesn't settle very well because it isn't dark enough?

FrostytheSnowman · 17/12/2006 22:17

Sophie finally went to sleep just as I was about to go up with the Calpol. Have checked on her and she seems OK now but may wake up with hunger during the night. She woke at 6am this morning.

Hi girls

xmas, sammysam, kz - hope lo's are better soon. we have almost got rid of sickness bug here, fingers crossed. charlotte has slept more since having this bug when i was expecting her to be waking in the night, she usually sleeps through but has been sleeping 13-14 hours this week cant complain!!
impy - gorgeous pics
twinkle - shocked at your work, so bad. what are you going to do?
kbaby - thats really good you get a chance to rest on sat nites, so nice of your mum. you def sound like you need it to keep you going though, hope sleeping gets better soon

wallace - charlotte seems to prefer total darkness for going to sleep at night. we do a bedtime routine that she has got used to, bath, bottle, look at books/singing songs then when she starts rubbing her eyes (the sign ) we put her in her cot and she usually just goes to sleep, if she is more awake we put her mobile on but sometimes she crys until we put it off then she goes to sleep (strange child)

sleeping in the daytime is the problem but im not complaining as i know from reading lots of your posts i am very lucky with the night-time sleeping. during the day i try to get her to sleep in her pram in the living room, sometimes she sleeps, other times its a disaster. if we are out she falls asleep no bother in her pram. where do others put lo's to sleep during the day?

re new prams/pushchairs - i would love to get a new one, whenever i am out i seem to see other ones that i think look great. think its because we didnt weigh up the options when choosing ours so have ended up with a bulky one that is a nightmare to maneuver on buses/have to remove parcel shelf just to fit into car and is sooo heavy to get up and down stairs (live in a 2nd floor flat). course at the time in the shop it looked so comfy/secure/sturdy

sorry im just going on a bit now, better get off to bed.
goodnight all xx

pinktinselanddollymixtures · 18/12/2006 08:04

Morning ladies.

This is practically the first time I have turned the computer on all weekend and... My headaches are better. So I can only presume its coz I am spending to much time trying to keep up with all your messages.

I have been quite naughty by not wearing my glasses mind you, so that might have something to do with it. Oh well.

Sorry to hear that some of the lo's are poorly again. I am off to take Jazz to the doc's today. She's had a cough/cold for a bit and the last few days she seems to be crackling a bit. I am sure it's nothing, but i'd rather get her checked.

The nativity went well on sunday, jazz was good, although she did have a little cry.

Well, have a good day. bye for now

IamBlossom · 18/12/2006 09:29

morning ladeez.

Krimbo, nice cossie. My sister had a lovely halter neck red one from Bravissimo, which I thought was really nice...

KBaby thank god for your mum and Saturday nights! I bet you go to bed at 8pm! I really hope it gets better for you soon.

Re luuuuurve making and breasticles, I kept my bra on when DH and I did "it" while I was still BF. It was just no go territory, and he totally complied as didn't want to get sprayed! It didn't matter really, as I had no libido at that stage either and the deeds were perfunctory at best! Much better now.

Love that idea for the re-hydration sachets for hangovers! Should have known baout that yesterday for DH, he was absolutely HANGING after a night out with the boys. A total useless lump of lard groaning on the sofa all day long. Did ALL the childcare ALL weekend, and bathtime on my own for the 6th night running (at work all the other times but still...) Also took the boys to their friend's Christmas party on my own on Saturday afternoon, as DH wanted to get ready for his night out as had been working in the morning. I know it's no different to what I do all week with them, but that's the point really - I do do it all week on my own so Saturday and Sunday I want some bloody help! I was the only woman there on Saturday afternoon (circa 15?) whose husband was not there helping out. And yes, I have let DH know the extent of my displeasure. Shouldn't think it will make any difference though, esepcially as he has informed me he is going fishing for a week after New Year. Er, you have a wife and two children you selfish toss pot! GRRRRRR! I will force a compromise if it's the last thing I do - I really think the less time you spend with your children the less time you want to IYSWIM?? Like when i was working of course I missed DS1 loads and loads but was fine about it al really, but now, the thought of missing all his funny comments and the things that he does and all his yummy hugs and kisses....and Toby too now, oooooh, the thought is just horrible...

Sorry for rant, fingers just kept on typing!

KZ, tip for Calpol at back of throat was a great one, have administered it to Toby this morning in said fashion. Toby absolutely full of snot, and just sleeping all the time. Went to bed at 6pm last night, I woke him at 7am, he had a bottle, and he has now been asleep on the sofa since 8...(sorry KBaby)...

DS1 also seems to be getting the message re his early wakings....still wakes at 5am, but I can sometimes now persuade him to stay in his own bed. i really think it is because he feels the urge to wee some of the time, as his nappy is usually dry in themorning, and he hasn't had an accident for over a week, (touch wood).

Right I'll stop blathering, have a good day all.

Bloss

Morning all

KZ- Zack woke every 1.5-2 hours last night still not as bad as kbaby though I really feel for you kbaby. We just have to keep going, we'll come out the other end soon {{{hugs}}}

Zack had a huge portion of baby rice for tea yesterday I was sooooo sure he would sleep better- ho hum.

He has just woken have to go AGAIN!

usandourlittlexmascracker · 18/12/2006 09:52

Ooh just wanted to ask how are you Sleep? x

prettymum · 18/12/2006 10:01

goodmorning ladies!!

kz- lets hope roshi gets better soon, its tough enough cleaning them up during the daytime but during the night when you're sleeping, the most dreaded thing!!!

IAB- grr at your dh!!I think you should plan a whole week of activities for yoursself and leave him with the kids!!!

beadman- i have that same problem re buggies!!! i live on the second floor with no lift and was initially planning to get a double buggy! i bought one over the net and it was huge!!!! ive sold it now and still have junior in sling!! i have a buggyboard for 2 yr old dd but no buggy for junior!!

gonna go and start getting ready santa is coming to toddler group!!

IamBlossom · 18/12/2006 10:26

Yes he is still cooking. Although I made dinner last night as his legs appeared to be broken...

LOL re cossie. Don't even know your doing it do you? I have so many "Aussie-isms" built into my vocabulary cos of Mum, I don't know they ARE Aussie-isms until someone else points it out...like Gladwrap instead of clingfilm, Wettex instead of cloth, and am always saying "Hop on" or "Hop off" to DS1 which is apparently very Aussie......I am also a true Vegemite and Bush biscuit lover and request Violet Crumbles and Cherry Ripes from travellers to Oz.

(Is "mooly booly" for hair bands and "boomers" for boobs Aussie or just down to my mad mother....?

IamBlossom · 18/12/2006 10:27

total bummer re puke and poo at 5am KZ. That is a harsh way to start the day....

IamBlossom · 18/12/2006 10:27

Did Twinkle go to work?

FrostytheSnowman · 18/12/2006 11:18

Morning ladies

Yes, just wondering about Twinkle-it is absolutely rotten for her. Mentioned it to DH last night and he agreed it is quite the norm to tag your leave onto maternity leave.

kbaby-how are things?

pink-nice to hear from you. Get your glasses on . No, seriously, glad your headaches are gone-I am the headache expert as I get lots of different varieties so understand the nastiness of them. Hope Jazz is OK.

Bloss-your life mirrors mine at the mo. My DH is at work until 9pm every night and came home at 6-30pm on Saturday so all the childcare left to me (but this is the norm). DD1 was the ultimate wildchild yesterday so I told him at least he knew how I have it all of the time. Said I think I should work weekends and he can have them all on his own but he said what a good idea it was and then he could clean all the clutter up that I don't GGGRRRHHH!!!!

We took DD1 to see Santa yesterday, but the first one we saw in the Garden Centre had taken his beard off and was walking around with a coin bag and said he was off for his lunch and promptly went into the cafe. I was v. disappointed at this so rushed DD out at said he had gone to his tree in town. She kept asking where his whiskers had gone-doh! Anyway, the one in town was lovely and she didn't cry so result.

I didn't know cossie and hop on and hop off were Aussie lingo-I say this all the time. Must have an Aussie bone in me-somewhere. Fab cossie by the way krimbo.

Sophie woke at 6am and I've left her in her sleepsuit to save on washing. Not sick so far-usually after lunch and tea foods. Am taking her for the final jab at 1pm then that is it until the MMR-hurrah!

krimbo-soz about the poo situation. Luckily Sophie is doing hard ones so less mess but anything is messy at 5am especially the projectile variety. I just don't understand this sickness business-DD1 was never this bad. Have we the sickiest babies on MN.

I bought a new stroller suitable from Birth in the Mothercare New Year Sale as our first pram was a M&P all singing and dancing one but v. bulky for heaving in and out the car, although it is good the way the car seat clips on the wheels. The next thing we have to buy is a booster seat for DD1 so that Sophie can have her car seat as she is getting a bit big for the baby car seat. Think DD1 needs a booster with side and a head rest-have seen them in Argos.

Just got one more pressie to wrap and I can hear Sophie groaning so had better go and be a good mummy instead of spending every available minute on MN

My New Year's Resolution will be to not shout at or smack DD1 (wonder how long that will last-bless her) and have a brilliant new MN name-out with the old and in with the new.

Back later though so have a good day all.
