Ladies, thought I would do the new thread as the other one is taking forever to load up.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
madness · 14/12/2006 16:51

just want to report that dd2 is finally rolling over, from back to stomach (and then she starts crying...)

TwinkleInSantasEye · 14/12/2006 17:10

Congratulations to your dd, Madness. Gawd, I wish Aidan would roll more to find his own toys. He's perfectly capable of rolling on to his side, but it's much more fun to drop the toy and yell for mummy!

IamBlossom · 14/12/2006 19:48

Hi Hi Hi, sorry girls....!! I really really can't keep up with you all at the moment and have only skim read all the posts I'm afraid, but have tried my best! Evenings have been wrapping/Christmas card writing times recently rather than Mumsnet, and other than that have been going to bed very early to make up for 5am Reveille! Last three mornings has been 6 to 6.30am from DS1 though so fingers crossed.......

Toby is a total dreamboat, as usual, will have to post a piccie soon. He had his third set of jabs today, and only whimpered! Was a bit shingy later though, so put him to bed and haven't heard a peep since 6.15....he is sleeping through till 4.30/5am, although it was 6am this morning. Bless him, I fall more and more in love with his gorgeous chubbiness every day.....

Took him and DS1 swimming for the first time on Saturday (first time for Toby)...I dunked him and he was fine. Did the same thing with DS1, and am a great beleiver in pouring water over their faces in the bath and have done every night with Toby pretty much since the word go. Just once mind and i wipe his eyes sstraight away, but the amont of people that say their kids don't like water on their faces, and it doesn't bother either of mine....

Pics are beeyootiful girls, KZ, Roshi is gorgeous and sits so well! Toby is nowhere near sitting like that, although I think he is a month younger...? Fristy, Sophie is gorge too!

Wallace, Toby is 18 pounds too. Porkers!! i am going to wean him next month. Milk is still satisfying him as long as he gets an 8 ounce bottle every 2 hours during the day!!

Settle an argument I am having with my sister will you girls - I call an 8 ounce bottle of water, an 8 ounce feed. She calls it a 9 ounce feed as once she has aded the milk powder and shaken it all up, it is 9 ounces of fluid. Never even occurred to me to add an ounce for the milk, what do you do/think??

Had another night out on Tuesday, dinner with the girls in a restaurant in Clapham, muchos vinos and pizza etc, although out of the 8 of us, 5 are pregnant! It was great fine, I talked complete scribble all night, and rejoiced in being the one that can drink for a goddamn change....I must say I felt quite broody though, UH OH!!!!

I am very geared up for Chrimble, most of the shopping done. I have got Toby a Winkle from Manhattan Toys (google it they are great) a soft toy for his buggy, a Toblerone because we call him Lerone and I want to eat it, chocolate money because I want to eat it, and a few little things the same as I have got DS1 - of course I know he won't have aclue, but it was more to show DS1 he is not the only kid on the block these days and he has a little brother that gets pressies too.....even though he will end up opening them all anyway.....

Mammoth post, soz, will try and keep up better from now on.

Love you all,

Bloss.

PS. 9 stone 6 on scales this morning, HURRAH!!

IamBlossom · 14/12/2006 19:51

sorry for spelling mistakes, I can never be arsed to preview....!

kbaby · 14/12/2006 20:37

Another terrible night, why do I bother even going to bed!! Last night I just lay in bed crying out of sheer frustration.
He went down at 8 and woke at 9, it then took 2 attempts and 1hr to get him back down, he then woke every hr until 3am where it changed to every 20 -40 mins bearing in mind that it took several attempts at getting him down in his cot in between all of this. He didn?t even want feeding when he woke apart from the normal 3hrly feeds.
DH is out tonight on his xmas bash so I hope tonight is better.

Agalch- I hope you are feeling a bit better today and dh?s op isn?t too painful. Ds was born on the 2nd aug
Figgypud ? hope your better now and will still make your party tomorrow

Pink ? bloo*y hell, I always leave dd asleep in the car, its v rare that she naps and I didn?t want to disturb her.

Ds is currently still awake sat on my lap and ramming my fingers so far in his mouth he keeps choking oh and hes just done a poo

wow, so many posts. see what i can remember

kbaby - hope tonight is better for you, you must be so exhausted
kz, maewest and twinkle - gorgeous pics of Lo's
jeanie - my thoughts are with you friend
Bloss - congrats on your weight, I really need to make an effort to lose some weight but xmas is looming (excuses, excuses i know)

i came down with sickness bug yesterday but luckily it seems to have vanished now, charlotte was the same, wouldnt take her milk and was sick about 5 times. luckily dh had day off so he was able to look after dd. i was in bed most of day so he had charlotte on his own, hes really good and does a lot but realised that was the 1st day he had her on his own as im normally always there. lets just say he now has new appreciation, no housework done though

good to see what others are getting Lo's for xmas, was worried i was being a scrooge mummy only getting 1 big thing and a few little things as i think at 5 and half months dd will prob not know whats going on and cant open pressies. boxes and paper more exciting anyway huh?

re rolling - charlotte can roll onto her side but thats it, wont go any further

dh on xmas night out so going to relax and put on a girlie film while i get the chance

goodnight all xx

TwinkleInSantasEye · 14/12/2006 22:13

Kbaby - you poor, poor thing. Is he one of those that wakes the moment his head hits the mattress? I'm afraid I've no useful advice to offer you as Aidan has been pretty good most of the time. Is he teething do you think? Is he in your room or his own? We have one of those bedside cots and I've found when Aidan has had a bad night it has really helped to drop the side and bring it up to the bed so I can snuggle up to him. Does he nap OK during the day and do you manage to catch up on any sleep then? (Sorry I can't remember if you have more than one).

FrostytheSnowman · 14/12/2006 22:57

Evening ladies

You lot have been busy

Took Sophie to be weighed yesterday and she is now 13lb 13oz at 24 weeks (DD1 was this at 13 weeks) and is now on the 25th centile. Mentioned to the HV that I had started weaning and she never answered-but at least I didn't get a lecture. Phewee!

kbaby-I don't know what to say, you must be so, so tired. Do you think he keeps waking and crying for you because he knows you will come if he calls? Have you discussed this with your HV? ((xx)) Hugs to you and hope you get some well deserved rest tonight.

Jeanie-((xx)) Hugs to your friend too.

Bloss- wow-last time I was that weight I think I was about 5 years old-lol! V. well done. I'm having a good attempt starting January when the busy time of year is over-can concentrate on counting points then.

kosh-bad mummy?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are Jake's mummy and his whole world and you are a fab mummy. Have I missed the reason why you can't drink-soz if I am being nosey. ((xx)) Hugs to you as well hun.

Lots of brill pics again. Can't believe how quickly our babes are growing.

agalch-hope the snippety snip went OK. I think I will always have the urge to have a baby. Shall have one more if possible then I will be sad knowing it will be the last.

Me and DH have the dreaded tummy bug that is going round so sympathies to all of you fellow sufferers.

krimbo-how is Roshi today? Hope she is feeling better.

Oh, had an E-Mail from Ebay regarding my claim for the dodgy laptop. It said my claim had been approved and my details had been passed to Accounts Payable so looks like some pennies may be coming my way-didn't say how much though.

Anyway, better go as up early for swimming.

Have a good evening girls.

P.S. Still no word from nuria??

IamBlossom · 15/12/2006 07:51

DS1 up at 5am again sigh. Will not complain though as KBaby you must be Captain Tired....how was last night? I can garantee (can NEVER spell that word) that every woman on this thread is thinking of you and sympathising as we all know what it is like to feel so dog tired, but you sound like you have it really rough sleep wise at the moment. Big hugs to you honey, you can do this, and it WILL get better. Let's face it, it can't get much worse! (((((((((((()))))))))))))))

Both my boys are full of snot at the moment. Lots of throaty chesty coughing and sneezing. Joy.

Oh Look, it's starting to get light, it really is horid starting your day two hours before the sun comes up....

have a good day everyone.

Bloss

PS, I actually made mince pies this week. They weren't very nice, but not bad for a first attempt, I even made my own pastry! I am turning into a true SAHM! I'll be going to Hobby Craft next...

pinktinselanddollymixtures · 15/12/2006 08:24

Oh Kosh- u mustn't think that your'e a bad mummy. Your'e just going through a rough patch at the moment, but it will get better. Keep your chin up.

Kbaby- How was your'e night last night? I have to say you are a much stronger person then I am. Jazz was very much like this in the early weeks. I was soo tired and ratty and I had the other 2 girls to look after. So, I caved, and she is still sleeping with me in the bed. I'm very much of the opinion that I would rather have a good night's sleep and her in with me, then hardly any sleep at all. But I know lots of people think i'm making a rod for my own back.
Have you got any advice from elsewhere? I think it might be about time.

I never told you what happened re dh's birthday prezzie did I. Well, it's his birthday nxt thursday and he asked for the new flight sim. He knew I would buy it for him so I bought it early on a website and paid via paypal. That was on the 30th Nov and it still hasn't turned up!!

Last week I emailed the company and they told me to email this week if I hadnt recieved it. This week their telling me to contact them nxt week.

I am so annoyed as it is xmas and I cant afford to shell out £40 and not recieve anything. I cant afford to get Marc anything else now. Unless I take the money from the savings account (which he wont let me do coz it's our plymouth money).

Well, I think that's a long enough post for this morning. So will catch up with you again later.

prettymum · 15/12/2006 10:10

kbaby- hope you had a better night!! it must be sooo hard when you have a toddler to entertain aswell with the lack of sleep! hope things get better for you soon!!

koshka!! do not call yourself a bad mummy!! you are doing brilliantly with the situation you're in!!

pinktinsel and frosty- ebay can be sooo bloody annoying at times!! i bought some dvds few weeks ago but have not recieved them and the seller doesnt respond to mu emails!! going to claim my money back from paypal.

i also bought ghds which are from dp to me for xmas. im now having delivery problems which im going to have to chase up!! apparantly the courier tried to deliver but i wasnt in and left card. the time they said they tried to deliver i was actually in and they did not leave a bloody card!!

im gonna go now and try sort this out now
so will chat later

maewestyemerrygentlemen · 15/12/2006 10:28

MN is looking a little different this morning...

kbaby - you sound knackered, must be tough with your little girl to look after too. Do you have anyone who can come in to look after both for an hour or so while you catch up on some sleep? My DS is now waking twice a night again, but luckily just taking monster feeds (which I do in bed and try and snooze through) and then going down again. FWIW I don't think you are 'giving in' to your DS by comforting him as he is still a baby and needs the comfort. Does your DH help out with trying to settle him? You're a great mum doing a tough job, and are v tired at the moment. xx

TwinkleInSantasEye · 15/12/2006 23:45

Sorry folks, Twinkle's about to have another rant. Apologies if I repeat myself:

Well, I am apparently supposed to be back at work on Monday! . I wrote to my "manager" nearly three weeks ago asking to take leave from Monday until a date in January (tba in consultation with him). I'm still waiting for an acknowledgement, let alone a meeting date. Finally managed to speak to Personnel yesterday (no one returned my phone calls ) and apparently it is not a foregone conclusion that my leave request will be granted, even though I first mentioned it when I was 3 months pg!!! (They still have maternity cover til the end of January btw). So what? I'm supposed to go in on Monday am I, with dh at work and no one to look after ds - you must be joking!! I swear I can't put up with much more of this, and yes I will be looking into grievance procedures etc. I don't see why if I'm forced into resigning to save my sanity (and my health - have already been signed off with stress during my pregnancy due to cr*ppy work) I should have to pay back £1800 of maternity pay!!!

Gawd, I'm sorry folks - got it off my chest though.

What a palaver about the new look! I thought it was OK actually, but I suppose the less radical version is better.

kbaby - how are things? I've been thinking about you. I showed your post to dh as well to put our probs into perspective for him. I read somewhere that silent reflux can cause problems with settling etc. - have you looked into this at all? Apologies if you've already talked about this - am in preview mode at the mo so can't check back.

Not many posts today - as Frosty said hope you aren't all boycotting. I'd really miss this thread if everyone left .

Well, I've gone on for long enough talking to myself. Can't sleep because of above situation. Night all!

TwinkleInSantasEye · 15/12/2006 23:59

Well, I'm defo not going in on Monday and if they want to phone and ask why then let them. I'm SOOO angry because as I said I mentioned ages and ages ago that I couldn't afford to take more than the ordinary maternity leave but that I would want to add some annual leave on the end of it, then use more leave to phase in my return to work. At the time they said, "yeah yeah that'll be fine, but don't worry about it now, we'll sort it out nearer the time". I've since discussed it again with said "manager" who still said it would be fine. I knew this would happen, I just KNEW. I swear I will never, ever work for local government ever again.

prettymum · 16/12/2006 00:04

i'm still here!!! ive actually managed to mop the floor!!!!

twinkle- i hope everything gets sorted, you did what you had to, let them stress over it, you gave them notice, they should have noted it!!

at least they kind of sorted the site now, it was so funny this morning when they were trying to sort it out with the site still running!!

anyways i have to go bed as i have work in the morning!! goodnight ladies!!
