Thats fab - whereabouts do you live (if you don't mind saying). I have found someone who lives near me from another website whose baby was born the day before Josh so I am hoping to meet up with her soon.

It is hard - my friends are all at work all day and my friend who had a baby a month after Josh, her DH works a fab shift pattern which means he is at home 5 days out of 7 (whereas mine is away 5 days and nights out of 7!) so she is usually with him and I don't like to intrude on their time - plus she has all her family near whereas I don't.

The hat is cool isn't it - even more so as MIL hates it so I put in on Josh all the time just to annoy her

I live in North Yorkshire, near Northallerton. I used to live in the East Riding - loved it there.

xmasstocking · 30/11/2006 10:34

Twinkle - I used to have a boyfriend who lived in North Yorkshire - it is lovely up there but I guess not so much if your friends and family aren't there.

Another photo of Josh (can't you tell I am really bored today!)

Arghhhh last night ds woke every 2hrs and today hes been grouchy and wanted carrying. The only 5 mins he was happy to go down his sister sat on him!!! And to top it all DD has a cold and didn?t sleep much last night either.

The only routine we have is he generally naps 2 hrs after he last woke, Feeds are whenever although I aim for last feed at 7.30pm/8 ish I find it better when they are on solids to have more of a routine as it tends to come naturally then. We also still have to cuddle him to sleep and then transfer him apart from the night sleep where he will go down dosy.

Wallace ? what a happy chappy
Xmasstocking ? I love his hat and the dribble

Koshka1984 · 30/11/2006 14:40

twinkle you live mear me! i live in harrogate.

i know noone either and ive lived here all my life. my friends have abandonned me now my ex has dumped me.

he left his phone at home yesterday and it rang. it was the girl i think hes shagging so i answered it. i just said he left his phone at home and asked her not to call again as it was disturbing his son just to emphasise the fact she is splitting a family up (i know its not her fault but i dont give a flying f** at the moment)

felt good for about 10 minutes after my heart had stopped beating so fast!

xmasstocking! So cute, glad to know its not just jake that drools! only bad if i lift him up and he drips it on my glasses!

FestiveAtForty · 30/11/2006 15:32

Hi All

Xmas ? lovely pics, he looks v proud of his hat

Wallace ? what a great pic, Leo looks like he should be spinning a bowler hat on his finger!!

Kosh ? I think you were very restrained, I?d have been tempted to stick his phone down the toilet (although yes, that would have been childish and not at all productive. And you wouldn?t want it blocking up your plumbing ? but maybe just a little dip in there? )!

Usandbump ? good luck with the weaning, that?s an interesting theory about Zack burning off all his calories too quickly. Fingers crossed for you

Just got back from the docs appt for Emma and also her jabs (which they gave her as she doesn?t have a temperature). Weighed her for the first time in 3 weeks and she has only put on about 1oz overall in 6 weeks (is 11lbs 15oz at 19 weeks), so her chart?s pretty flat, just reached the border of 2nd and 0.4 percentile. I was surprised though as I thought she was getting bigger, she fits (just) into 3-6 month babygros now. The doc did remark that she looked small, but that was before I weighed her so I didn?t know what percentile she was on. She has a prescription for lactose free Enfamil to see if that helps with the vomiting on formula, but no allergy testing yet. We have to go back when I've tried the Enfamil.

Pink ? what did your HV say about Jasmine?

Have nice afternoons all xx

FrostytheSnowman · 30/11/2006 17:22

Sophie is still in 0-3 clothes and sleepsuits.

Back later as my extremely hyper active DD1 is driving me to distraction. How on earth can I get her to sit still for more than 10 seconds-it is getting very trying. She has been at nursery all morning and played all afternoon at my friend's house and walked round Morrisons ??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

xxx

FrostytheSnowman · 30/11/2006 17:24

Something gone funny with the puter-should have used my 'hot' laptop!

TwinkleInSantasEye · 30/11/2006 18:39

LOL at the ?s Frosty!

How is everyone today? We've just had the house valued and it could be worth more than we thought so we might be able to move to a bigger place after all - hooray!! Not holding my breath though.

What are everyone's LO's party tricks? (That doesn't sound right - sure there must be a better way of putting it). Aidan's favourite at the moment is pulling his legs up to 90 degrees then slamming them down on the floor - ouch! He loves it though - did it for half an hour solid this morning then slept for two hours. Must have worn himself out bless him. Also he is really trying to hold the bottle himself when I feed him - he takes it from me and directs it to his mouth himself, with mixed success.

Prettymum - yes I was very scared indeed. I think if the MW had clarified that it was too early for g&a TIME wise rather than offering me paracetemol (sp?)and implying that the pain was going to get even worse (which it didn't!), things would have been much better. At least I'll know next time. And I will now stop going on about it, I promise!

figgypud · 30/11/2006 19:33

Evening everyone!

Hope all is well!
Wallace and Xmas: Fantastic pics!! MUST getting round to doing some myself
Wallace: Re screeching Evie went through a phase of this her current noise/party trick {twinkle!} is this low deep grunting sound which makes everyone stare at me when we're out[again]
Koshka: How restrained of you think I would have told her to f*ck right off and him too probably, do sympathise with you still having to live with him!
Tummy time: Whoever was talking about this, Evie hated it for ages and recently has the strength to do it for long periods and somwtimes although still think its a fluke roll over is much happier with it now! Get a toy from home bargins which you fill with water and theres fish that move arouund it which really helped!

I have decided today that I think I'm going to have to give up BF Evie is 24 weeks this weekend and its really hard to get her attention long enough to get enough BM whereas she takes from a bottle fine? Also concerned my supply is slowing down too and don't really want to start expressng loads as I'm back at work in just over a month

On a good note though {YEAH} Evie sat up on her own today for record time! She's onlt really managed a few seconds before! It was while I was reading her a story so think I had her attention for longer!!!
Better go getting crimbo stuff out of the loft making the most of having Evies first xmas as an excuse
Night all

Sorry about excessive use of emotions tonight rivalling frosty's ???

maewest · 30/11/2006 20:55

Evening all . DS's party trick yesterday at the mum & baby group was to puke into his cupped hands whilst smiling adoringly at me, lovely!

KZ - I have to ask, what is an 'infant intolerance' - can Roshi not stand other children

Josh leg slams aswell - particularly in bed which can be very annoying when I am trying to sleep - how he doesn't hurt himself when he does it on our wooden floor (he has usually shuffled off his gym/rug), I have no idea.

evening ladeez. Had a day at Marwell today, frigging freezing, but good fun, apart from DS1's tantrum about zero at the end, he was so tired. My fave was the giraffes if anyone's interested..........

He also managed not to have an accident all day, until we got home and I told him to sit on the sofa while I got Toby in and he peed. All the way through the sofa cushions etc. My fault, need two pairs of hands...

Wallace. Leo is gorge gorge gorge....All other pics are lovely too!

Thanks for posts re routine girls. Toby is dreamfeed, 4am bottle, 8am, 11am, 3pm, 6pm roughly. Really does vary....

Frosty re getting toddlers to sit still - I use the Polar Express DVD....DS1 is totally addicted to it...I don't let him watch it until I need at least 30 minutes peace so I get him washed and dressed between 7.30 and 8.00, Toby goes back to bed then for at least 45 minutes, Polar Express goes on and I get time to shower, clena upo kitchen and sort bedrooms....long may it last.

Toby leg slams, and gurgles so loudly, very cute. Will post a new picutre soon.

Festive@40 - Laughed out loud at Little Britain image. I think we'd get on over a bottle of wine you and me. In fact, would't it be lovely to all sit round a big table, with good things to eat, mulled wine, someone else we trust looking after our babies, and a couple of hours to laugh and chill? Sigh.

Bloss.

evening all!!!

junior's party trick is just jumping up and down, up and down and up and down on our laps!! he loves it and tires our arms out and sometimes the end result is him throwing up!!! he loves it!!!

xmas- yey i can see your pic and he is soooooooooooooooo adorable and looks so comfortable and warm!!!

dd was so cute today!! i was hoovering and pretended to hoover junior up. she started screaming and came off the couch and put her arms protectivly (sp?) around him!!! i was so proud!!

IAB- i know what you mean about having a nice meal without the kids!! nice large feast cooked by the best chef around, wine and a relaxed mind!!!!

better go now, hopefully can have a uneventful night! junior woke at 5.00 and didnt want to go back to sleep for an hour this morning!!

Wallace · 01/12/2006 08:35

LOL at everyone's patry tricks

Leo's is to grab anything within reach, and shove it in his mouth. He has got this down to a fine art now, and is so quick - he swiped a toy from a poor unsuspecting toddler the other day

Wallace · 01/12/2006 08:36

Forgot to say that I lopve Josh's fuzz of hair in his tummytime pic

TwinkleInSantasEye · 01/12/2006 09:36

LOL at other people's leg-slamming babes. I wonder why they do it? It must hurt! It needs pretty strong muscles as well I think. Aidan rolled over from his back to his front yesterday eve, and I think he meant to - yey!!

SleepIsForTheWeak · 01/12/2006 09:40

Argh! Someone make that bloody Scenic advert go AWAY!!!

Love all the pics will try post one later today. Took Sefton with me Xmas shopping yesterday, an dhe was so good, just talking (loudly) to himself most of the time. Had a few old dears cooing and telling me to "make the most of this time- they grow up so quick"

He is tying SO hard to crawl! He has got the arms right, and the motion of the legs right, but he hasn't figured out how to lift his bum yet. So he ends up just pushing himself backwards, away from the toy he is trying to get. If I hold his foot still he pushes off my hand and goes forward, much to his delight. He has also started lifting his hands in the air when he wants to get picked up, out of his Bumbo... tooooooo cute

But he woke every 1.5 hours last night , think it was becausse he was in his pram a lot yesterday, so noy much physical exertion, and I BF him his last milk of the night instead of the usual FF?

xmasstocking · 01/12/2006 09:43

Twinkle - big congrats to Aiden - what a clever boy! Does he like being on his tummy? Josh isn't that keen so whereas I used to be able to put him on his back and he would kick away quite happily for ages, he now turns himself over onto his front and then starts whinging after a few minutes - so I turn him on his back and he turns over and so on.....

Wallace - LOL at Leo swiping toys!!

Koshka1984 · 01/12/2006 09:51

hello.
when jake cries he now does it with tears!

i took him up to the bed yesterday for some non-windy tummy time and he pushed himself to the end of the bed where the cat was! it was so cute pushing himself for ward with his feet.

TwinkleInSantasEye · 01/12/2006 11:48

Thanks Xmas. But I've a confession to make - it was from his front to his back - think I was half asleep this morning!! And no, he doesn't like being on his tummy for long - he starts whinging after a few minutes too.

TwinkleInSantasEye · 01/12/2006 11:58

Another question for you all from a dumb first timer , and apologies if it's all been said before. It's old hat to a alot of you I know but Aidan's one of the youngest on the thread.
Have you discussed with your HVs and got their agreement b4 starting to wean? I really do think Aidan might be ready soon just to try some tastes of solids (he's 18 weeks today) and I'm sooo desperate to try something to stop him being sick so much. I want to take it really slowly and not feel rushed by having to go back to work middle of January. I think the HV may just agree in a couple of weeks but if she doesn't should I do it anyway?? He's my baby after all.

prettymum · 01/12/2006 12:03

twinkle- my hv told me to try and hold off weaning till he was around 6 months due to the new guidelines but ive started anyways and theres no problems here .

with dd i started her on solids when she was 16 weeks( the hv then told me to start at 16 weeks)

i have no clue how many weeks junior is now, he was born on the 14th. gonna go and calculate
