I'm still here! I haven't forgotten about you!
Life has been beyond busy and hectic and crazy and makes me want to pull my hair out at time this summer. Between the boy's swimming lessons at the crack of dawn, M's extreme temper tantrums, and trying to put together the details of this ridiculous UK trip we've got coming up, I've had little time to even sit down and take care of myself let alone get online and have a sneak around the intewebz. Showers feel like luxuries right now. SO crazy busy all the time. Roll on school year!
Women's hormones are just shite sometimes. I hate how so many think that the cycle is just an easy clock-work thing that occurs on it's own.... there are so many variables that play into it. I do agree with what your doc is saying (however extremely frustrating waiting around is). Sometimes it does take a while for hormones to sort themselves out after breastfeeding. I would also agree with you in checking your prolactin levels, as that is what often delays ovulation. I guess your doc is right to check progesterone levels as well to get a better picture of what the luteal phase of your cycle looks like.... but I'm just frustrated for you that you can't just go see a specialist over in the UK without a GP referral like we can here in the US. I am excited that they will at least offer a blood test for you to start the process of taking a closer look. Fingers crossed for you, pear that you can start getting some answers and looking for a direction to take to get that sweet little #2.
M has decided to start acting up with sleeping again and we've been up with her for the last 3 nights now. After sleeping through for a month, DH and I are absolutely shattered. She also received her MMR jab 2 days ago and she's acting like she's not feeling well. Gross runny nose, cough, and diarrhea. She hasn't been sick in months so I know it's b/c of the stupid jab. The doc tried to talk me into getting her vax'd with the chicken pox vaccine here but I told her that hopefully we'd pick up the wild virus in the UK instead. She looked at me like I was out of my mind.
She just goes, "well, there goes your vacation" to which I replied, "what, you mean the one that she will already be extremely jet-lagged for anyway? What's a little chicken pox to make it that much better?" We don't see eye-to-eye on some things, but at least I don't get bullied when I decline vaxs for the kids.
So we'll be in the UK in t-minus 3 weeks! EEK. My mental list is insane. Of course it'd be the smart thing to write it down and get it off my brain, but who's got time for that!?
