Happy birthday for tomorrow baby dec!!
One years old!!!
Hope you all have a wonderful day

Gosh This time last year! Memories!! Agh!

Dec1314mummy · 01/01/2016 08:40

Well dd is officially 1! How scary is that! We had a lovely day. We did have a party for her on Monday too. She's so grown up, she refuses to be a baby anymore!
Still undecided on number 3! Dh would have another tomorrow but I keep changing my mind! It doesn't help that 4 if my friends are due in January (well one had her little one in Wednesday). I'm sad that I had no one around when on maternity leave lat year and they all have each other this year!
Hope everyone has a fantastic year Grin

Aww happy birthday baby Dec! All of our little ones will be turning 1 this month Grin
Patsy will be 4 on the 6th and the eldest two turned 6 & 7 in December. Then the baby is 1 on the 28th. It's mad how fast the time seems to pass by. Hope everyone had a good new year

Pesto11 · 01/01/2016 11:58

Happy new year everyone!

Yes i have to admit I've found maternity year quite lonely ... Which is why dh is puzzled that I want to try for another baby so soon...
as I've left teaching I just want to have the babies close together and then return to work ... Well that's the plan...
If second baby is a boy I think we will stop there ... Abandon the three baby plan!

Wishing all your babies very happy birthdays this month. 🎂

I'm still debating what to do for dd... Thinking of a day out to escape the suffocating in laws!!

Happy New Year everyone and Happy 1st Birthday baby Dec!
I can't believe my baby is turning 1 next week, I am quite emotional about it. We were thinking of doing a little tea party for him but we've left it a bit late really!
Q is doing well, he's cruising now and is ridiculously fast at crawling. He's quite grumpy and gets bored of his toys very easily but adores his big brothers.
We had a lovely Christmas and am looking forwards to the year ahead!

Happy new year everyone! I hope baby Dec had a lovely birthday. I can't believe dd turns 1 this month. The last year has gone so ridiculously fast! We want to try for another but I think we might leave it another year or so to give me chance to settle back into work and save some money I guess!

Dd has turned into a proper little person this last week. I can't really put my finger on what's changed, she just seems so grown up and interactive and affectionate. I'm still breastfeeding too pesto but she has naturally reduced her feeds quite a bit in the daytime. I haven't night weaned her yet..... Hoping that by some miracle she might just lose interest by herself as that's what seems to be happening in the day now.

I hope all of your babies enjoy their special month! We are taking dd out for the day, just the three of us Smile

Pesto11 · 03/01/2016 12:29

I know wage you mean.. Dd suddenly seems less baby and more big girl!!

How often are you still breastfeeding?
My problem is that she's used to having a feed to sleep ... So refusing to give her boob results in no 10am or 4pm nap and very grumpy baby!

Offered her a few ounces of cows milk in a bottle .. Refused it completely first day and drank some today..
She has milk in morning porridge and enjoys cheese and yoghurt when it's offered.
It's the morning and evening feeds that are going to be the hardest to drop.

bigfam · 03/01/2016 19:45

I agree with the suddenly seeming grown up! This little lady, when asked if she wants a bath, starts to try and take her clothes off and then when she gets to the vestie tries to pull the poppers apart Smile also taken to carrying her toy babies around under one arm and can successfully climb up onto the sofa (it's very low) then has already learnt to shimmy back off with her legs first!

She's such a big girl now bigfam!

Pesto the daytime feeds vary depending on what we're doing, and I also feed to sleep. She does however nap in the car seat and pushchair so I tend to take her out every day for one of her naps. She will be rocked to sleep too. Night time is different. I have to feed her to sleep and if she wakes in the night it is the fastest and easiest way to get her back to sleep. My dh has started to go to her occasionally but I think we probably need to step this up if I am to stop the night feeds. It's just so hard to stop when you find something that works!

Pesto11 · 03/01/2016 22:41

Yeah agree with the easiest and fastest way of dealing with nighttime wakings! No faff getting bottles etc.
During the day it's with boob or car journey!! She will be rocked to sleep but only with dh or mum... Never me!!
Today we managed 2 bf at 7.30am and 7.30pm- then all day with 2 lots of 2ounces of cows milk and one nap with dh...
Will have to go downstairs and get milk at 7.30 if I'm serious about dropping morning feed
Never planned to bf this long and now it's become so easy -and I've become lazy!
Only want to stop in order to start trying for no.2

Alyx80 · 03/01/2016 22:45

Q still breastfeeds a lot in the day, I usually feed him to sleep for all sleeps or he'll go off in the pram or car, I don't worry about it as it works for now and I know he'll grow out of it. I'm planning on feeding until 2.5-3 if he wants to as I did with the others.

Had him weighed and measured today, he's 24lb 12oz and 77.5cm now so quite a big boy.

Pesto11 · 03/01/2016 23:29

Need to get dd measured soon
And maybe ask for some advice from HV

bigfam · 07/01/2016 13:42

Has anyone been to the one year check? Josie's is tomorrow, I always worry because sometimes they're really critical then I question my parenting skills!
Here she is kissing her favourite baby (she still hasn't learnt to properly pucker up)

bigfam · 08/01/2016 13:39

So apparently in a 24 hour period Josie only needs two 6oz bottles TWO!!!!! One in the morning and one at night, if she's eating 3 meals a day (which she is) but there is no way she'd manage that! The hv said if there's milk in front of her she'll just drink it for the sake of it, I know that's not right though because sometimes when I think she wants a bottle, she makes it clear she doesn't. I said I'd try to bring it down to three but I'm not sure Josie will be happy with that either.

Alyx80 · 09/01/2016 10:39

Q must easily have at least 8 feeds a day still, there's no way he'd only last with morning and evening feeds.

His sleep isn't brilliant at the minute, we had 6 months of amazing sleep between 4-10 months so we were very lucky but it's regressed since. Now our bedroom extension is finished he can have his own room so I'm going to sort it out and see if that helps as we may be disturbing him. Need to have a look round at what decoration I want to do.
He was 1 yesterday! I can't believe how quickly this year has gone, felt a bit strange that my last baby is now turning into a feisty little toddler!!

bigfam · 09/01/2016 10:54

Happy birthday Q!!
Honestly sometimes I think they don't have a clue what they're talking about, I suppose they just mean babies in general but every baby is different (even though my 3 girls are so identical its scary they have completely different personalities!) Josie's hair is starting to curl like her big sisters too, but I think she's going to be fair haired (still hasn't got any eyebrows) Grin

Pesto11 · 09/01/2016 11:54

Aw happy birthday Q! Dd also turned one this week 🎈
What a cutie bigfam

Is there a 12m developmental check? Or is that the 10m one we have where I live?? Did not like that HV
We just got letter for immunisations ... Noooo not that time again!

bigfam · 09/01/2016 14:32

Happy birthday baby pesto! Cake
It was a '8-12 month check' the hv I saw was nice enough, just obviously thought everyone should follow strict guidelines (she's pregnant with her 1st and I was tempted to point out that when her own baby arrives, guidelines take a backseat compared to what's best for baby and you Grin )

bigfam · 10/01/2016 15:38

Finally got a nice picture of Danny a Josie only for Patsy to ruin it with the most awful face
Josie's really fond of Danny (maybe because he's her only big brother) if he's sat on the floor she walk over to him rubs his hair, the past slaps it, then wraps her little arms around his neck for a cuddle all finished with a big sloppy kiss. She also perches herslef in his lap Grin

At exactly this time a year ago this little beauty was born, can't believe how fast it's gone and how she's grown and blossomed into such a little character Grin
