Our babies are nearly half a year! Where on earth has the time gone?

Dd is still rolling around and shuffling about
No crawling tho!
Loves to be held while she bounces like a mad thing!

Was starting to think about possible no.2... But cz I'm still breastfeeding no sign of periods yet... Might have to wait till I stop bf and she's on cows milk next year...

bigfam · 28/10/2015 11:24

Wow! Just found two more teeth making an appearance, but at the top next to her front ones. I was expecting the ones at the bottom first Grin I don't think any of my others had 6 teeth before they turned one!

Alyx80 · 28/10/2015 21:54

Q still doesn't have any teeth! He's not quite crawling but very close and can certainly get around the room regardless lol. He's a lot happier now he can get back to sitting from being on his stomach too.
Had a nice few days away with the family, it's been great to spend time together.

bigfam · 29/10/2015 15:08

Sounds lovely alyx, glad you had a good time. Here's josie showing off

Wow bigfam look at her go!

Still no teeth here either but her gums are definitely playing her up this week and the drool has stepped up a notch!

I'm finding it more difficult to keep her entertained now the weather has turned wetter and colder. Im not sure how we're going to get on now the winter is setting in. I suppose I'll just have to get a good coat and carry on as normal!

bigfam · 29/10/2015 17:06

She was exactly 9 months yesterday, can't believe she's on her feet already, she's already impatient with just standing still so flaps her arms about whilst up. With the clocks going back she is up and about at 4am now lol

bigfam · 01/11/2015 11:18

Oh dear. Not a good day! Dd1 came down with tonsillitis so quickly and badly she nearly ended up in hospital on friday and is really ill, now ds1 has just been sick everywhere and looks awful. And i've been up since 4am. How is everyone?

bigfam · 09/11/2015 18:51

Everyone's vanished! Sad
Josie is learning to walk now, still very wobbly, but getting there. What are you getting for first birthday's/christmas? We've bought a vtech 3 in 1 zebra thing (it changes from a walker to a sit on thing to a scooter) have read good reviews, and a vtech walker with the detachable play tray so far. I'd forgotten how hard it is to buy for a 1 year old. She does seem to like toy babies, but gives them a big sloppy kiss then hits them a few times!
How is everyone?

Pesto11 · 10/11/2015 22:35

I'm still here bigfam!

Hating the rainy days trapped indoors
Sometimes I drive to a shopping centre just to walk around! Don't care if I sound like a loon!

Dd nowhere near crawling let alone standing or walking!
Got 10m check up soon - not sure what to expect...
Hope it's helpful/useful

bigfam · 15/11/2015 14:50

Well she's completely mastered walking. She lets go of whatever she's holding and takes off, and she can stand straight up from sitting down, all that and still not even 10 months old yet!

bigfam · 16/11/2015 10:51

Tooth 7 is through, at the bottom

Alyx80 · 18/11/2015 21:53

Hi all!
Q has three teeth now and started crawling last week, he's now into everything and hard work! His hair has really thickened up and grown recently, it's very cute!

It's a bit manic here as we're having an extension built so it's very dusty and noisy.

Alyx80 · 18/11/2015 21:56

Can't believe she's walking already bigfam! My older boys were 12, 14 & 16m and i was hoping Q would be at the later end but I imagine he'll be around 13/14 months. They're growing too fast!!

bigfam · 20/11/2015 13:21

Well done Q! Wow his hair has grown so long too. Josies is starting to curl, i wonder if it will be as mad as patsy's hair.
Got some more christmas presents today, I'm so excited can't wait for them to open everything. Lilly (7) has got a huge 3 storey doll house she had her heart set on, the box is so big though that we can't wrap it!

Alyx80 · 01/12/2015 22:49

It's December! I'm really looking forwards to Christmas this year. All the presents have been bought, I've just got to find the time to wrap them now lol.
We've decided to put our Christmas tree up on a cupboard this year as Q is just into everything now. I spent some time at my mum's earlier and he wouldn't leave her tree alone. He started cruising the furniture on Monday and is now pulling himself up all the time, I was hoping he'd be a bit later to do it tbh, he seems so little still!

He has his 9-12m check tomorrow so will see how heavy he is now, I think he's slimmed down a bit now and I'm thinking about 24lb.

His sleep has actually broken a bit this last fortnight, it's still not bad but he's started waking about 4am wanting a feed after sleeping through for the past 6 months. I'm not used to the disturbed nights!

Hope everyone is doing ok. Xx

September60b · 03/12/2015 16:21

Hi all! Hope everyone is doing well and looking forward to Christmas!
Interesting to hear what you're doing with regards to a tree Alyx. Dh keeps telling me that it'll be fine but I just don't think dd will leave it alone if we put one up!

Dd is still cruising around the furniture but doesn't seem interested in walking on her own yet. Still not sleeping great but I'm used to it now so it doesn't feel quite so bad. When she does finally sleep through I'm going to feel amazing!!

bigfam · 05/12/2015 09:43

Alyx, we thought about putting the tree up on a table away from grabby fingers but luckily josies not that interested in it, or the presents! We've got the 8-12 review next week as well, can't believe i'll be going with a tiny person that can walk! I still can't get over how strange it is to see someone so small cruising around so easily. Hope every one is well x

Dec1314mummy · 08/12/2015 20:22

Well it's been long time since I posted. It's kind of sad it's gone so quiet as I would truly say you guys were a lifeline through some tricky moments!
Unfortunately we had some devastating news about my MIL. Life just seems so cruel at times.
Can't believe our babies are almost one tho. Ds had his second birthday last week and dd will be 1 in just over 3 weeks! Now that's crazy!
Sleep is still pretty bad here too. Ds had an anaphylactic reaction a few weeks ago and so due to him still reacting he has been waking anywhere up to 12 times a night. Dd has been waking up to 6 due to a cold and so I went through a few nights of not sleeping longer than half an hour. It reminded me of the early days!
Dh is really wanting another child, I really don't know. Part of me would love another but my 2 were such terrible sleepers I just don't know if I can cope with it again! Is anyone else having more? Or anyone with more than 2 any advice?

Dec sorry to hear about your mil Flowers
Also hope your ds is okay as well, that must have been scary! As for having any more, we thought about it a while ago, but are leaving it for now. For me personally, 3 little ones, isn't too drastically different from 3. It's just that child no.3 has now turned into a complete nightmare, I'm hoping she'll improve soon. The baby has also had a few really awful days, she had a double ear infection with a raging fever last week, almost finished her antibiotics, the first two days she just slept, since then she has been soooo miserable, won't sleep hard to settle clinging to my legs if I do anything, walking around screaming and getting beyond tired just crying!!!! I might take her back to gp tomorrow, see how her ears are.
Ds' birthday in two days, then dd1s in 6. Then after xmas dd2's and the babies!

SunnyDays1987 · 14/12/2015 14:26

Hey I posted on here when my DS was born but haven't been back on since. Hope everyone is ok. I'm just looking for some advice. DS will be 1 on 3rd Jan but he was due on 28th Jan- induced with pre eclampsia. Anyways, he has always been a reasonable sleeper but recently he's awake for hours on end at night. I've seen stuff about the wonder weeks leap 7 and also he's just started walking properly so I'm wondering if all that is causing him to have restless nights. Just wondering if anyone else is going through the same thing?

bigfam · 20/12/2015 15:57

Hi all. Can't believe it's Christmas in just 5 days, and our little one's will soon be a year old! Josie had a really bad ear infection a couple of weeks ago and it seems that some nights it's still causing her grief. Here she is napping smothered after her roast dinner Grin

September60b · 23/12/2015 09:09

Ahh bigfam she is a cutie! I hope she's fully recovered now.

Dec so sorry to hear about your mil Flowers. It's really nice to hear from you though! I know what you mean about the thread fizzling out but hopefully a few of us can check back in every now and again as it has saved my sanity a few times!!

Sunny yes! We are having the same problem here. Dd has always been a terrible sleeper but just recently it is taking me over an hour sometimes to re settle her during the night. She's bf and I had been relying on feeding her to sleep (which has been working really well up to now) but that doesn't seem to be working anymore. I think she might be losing interest in milk and that's having an impact. I'm hoping that it's just a phase?! After nearly a year of awful sleep I would like to think that it might get better soon...

As for having another, we definitely want one but will probably try and aim for when dd is 3ish. I do get very broody when I see tiny newborns though I must admit!

I hope everyone is all ready for Christmas and looking forward to the break.

bigfam · 23/12/2015 10:02

Can't wait to see some pictures of all your little ones over Christmas! Here she is playing with her baby (with a poorly sister in the background Sad)

Hi everyone, I keep forgetting my password so can't comment but I've been reading.

Hope you're all enjoying the holiday season.
Gorgeous pics.

Dd is poorly this week. Calpol for 2 days and still coughing like mad 😢
Not walking or even crawling properly! Commando crawling still over here.
The HV was very concerned at the 10m check up... Annoyed me cz I don't know what I'm supposed to do about it! She rolls and shuffles to where she needs to get to. She loves standing but doesn't 'walk'
She'll just be a late developer...

Still breastfeeding here and really want to stop in jan when she's one cz we want to start trying for number 2!!
She hates bottles so no idea how she's suddenly going to take to cow's milk..any ideas?
How often do they need milk once they're one?
