Thanks all. Yes sept, a passing phase is definitely what I'm hoping for.
sorry to hear you are having a rubbish night bigfam. Why is it these things all happen at once? I hope things have improved.
Dd is currently playing in her cot. I mean seriously! She's so cute though. I went in as she was annoyed, have her some milk, which she took some of yay, and she was sidewards in the cot, holding on to the bars above her head and kicking the others with her foot as if to say they are in my way! Ds is a super fidget it the night, but dd hasn't been as bad. I'm watching her on her monitor and she's making me chuckle! Hopefully she will actually sleep soon though Grin

Sorry to hear some of you are having bad nights again.

After the night from hell on going to get an anti reflux formula today. Have decided against sma as it can be heated and he will not touch milk unless it's warm.
Aptamil is made with warm water so gonna try that but my question to those who use these types of milk is how do you prepare them at night? I can distract during the day to allow for water to cool after boiling and for the 7 mins for milk to settle but what do you do at night?! He will wake up the whole street if each feed is to be made from scratch and left to thicken!

Sorry to keep asking questions about this, I'd convinced myself he was better as he is taking the ready made milk ok but he's so unsettled and I've had 90 mins sleep all night so gotta try something. Thanks all x

bigfam · 01/06/2015 08:08

Worried you don't need to wait for it to thicken for 7 minutes, you'll honestly see the difference as soon as you mix it. Cow and gate is exactly the same as aptimal but £1.50 cheaper. Definitely get faster flow teats though worried, and let us know how it goes x

Dec1314mummy · 01/06/2015 08:10

I have a tommy tippee perfect prep machine and would literally not cope without it! It has been my savour and worth every penny.
Hope it works worried.

Before bed I boil the kettle, then fill a couple of bottles up to 2oz, then leave it to cool. When she wakes boil fresh water and add it to the bottle up to 6oz, then it's not being made with boiling hot water. X

Worriedaboutwee · 01/06/2015 16:07

Don't know what I would do without your knowledge ladies! Back at the dr today and they'd never heard of anti reflux milk! Said she doubted there was any scientific proof it works! Prescribed omemprozal for him in the dissolvable tablet form so that will be fun!

On the school run tonight the crossing lady said goodnight to me, I was so tired I replied "night night, love you, see you in the morning!!"

She looked at me like I'm a total idiot!

bigfam · 01/06/2015 16:26

My lo is proof it worked, ask the other ladies I was literally at my wits end with her constantly being sick, the difference was nearly immediate, it's got carob bean gum in it, which thickens it. Did you buy any worried?

Worriedaboutwee · 01/06/2015 16:36

Yes I did but the GP has just rang me and said she want to change him to ranitidine instead! Basically i wanted the liquid omeprozol and my trust won't pay for it so he can have liquid ranitidine instead of table omeprozole. I told her I'd got the formula too and she said you can't use either meds with the anti reflux formula so I'm a bit stuck now. Might ask to see a different Dr as I'm not sure I trust this one!

Alyx80 · 01/06/2015 16:37

Hope the Omeprazole works Worried but glad the gp is helping.

Q is sleeping well at the minute but am totally expecting it to change soon. My older boys all badly regressed around 6 months, 6-12 months with my oldest was horrendous and he'd been sleeping 13 hours at 5 months.

Q has been a bit restless today, fed loads and barely slept so don't know if it's a bit of a growth spurt. He's getting very interested in watching us eat now, starting to feel guilty eating in front of him but holding off on weaning for a while longer yet.

Alyx80 · 01/06/2015 16:39

Cross posts there! Hope one of the other ladies can help!

LittlePink · 01/06/2015 19:09

Ds is on ranitidine. It doesn't stop the vomiting but it has settled the acid which was bubbling in his throat at night and making him choke. I keep forgetting to give the lunchtime dose which is really bad but it hasn't made any difference and he seems fine at night now and the vomiting is a bit better than it was so I'm hoping he can come off it as he's nearly weaned off it with me forgetting to give it.

I've bought some baby rice to try him on. I had a banana in my hand yesterday and he grabbed it and shoved in his mouth and gobbled it. I let him but was really nervous so didn't let him have much. He cried when i took it away. I'm feeling guilty about eating in front of him too so I don't think it will be long before we go for it properly.

Just a quick post......worried I have the omeprozale in a tablet form but I put it in a syringe, then add water to the syringe and leave it to dissolve before giving it. Seems to work ok.

Off to catch up as have missed the new thread.

He's gorgeous Little. What a happy smily boy!

Dd is currently chewing on the sofa cushion and getting really frustrated that she can't fit the whole thing in her mouth. Teething is grim! She's also started blowing raspberries and making the funniest noises just before she goes to sleep. At least it's not tears before bedtime anymore!!

Dec1314mummy · 02/06/2015 11:54

Has anyone got any kind of daytime routine yet? Dd is just all over the place and I'm so worried about going back to work without getting her into a routine, as dm and Dmil are splitting it, so I don't want everything to be inconsistent. Feeling really rubbish about it. I only have 3 1/2 weeks left to sort it out! The health visitor is popping across to give me some advice about dds tongue and lip tie later so may ask her too.
little your ds is so cute. Lovely photos!

Worried try the meds and if they don't work try the formula, I personally couldn't live without it and panic when I'm running low, I live in a little village and it's not available in the little local shops.
We've (sort of) got a daytime routine, she's having four naps per day the longest being around 2pm. The rest are power naps. Will post some pics later Grin

Note to self- never pick a reflux baby up in the air above your head, reflux sick doesn't taste nice at all ?? not my finest moment.

I'm trying to get a daytime routine together but it's very difficult, especially with a toddler.

We went to see a show today for kids. We were late, I forgot Dds buggy board so dragged her crying from the car park miles away and made her run. Ds was sick all over me in the theatre so I was soaking wet throughout. Then I lost my car parking ticket and had to pay full price having left my phone in the car only to find a message from my friend saying she had found the ticket after I'd paid! Bad day!!!

Lovely pics bigfam. She's beautiful!

Elizadoesdolittle · 02/06/2015 18:28

oh dear littlepink all sounds a bit stressful What did you see?

I think DS would have a routine if I let him. He has to basically get dragged around after my 2 girls. if at home he'll tend to nap for around 2 hours from 10 ish but if we're out he'll just nap as and when.

bigfam · 02/06/2015 18:50

Thanks little. Hope you have a peaceful night after that marathon day!
I'd never even heard of reflux when my other three were born, but the majority of our babies suffer from it, it's nice to be able to chat to people with experience. (but not for your lo's) x

LittlePink · 02/06/2015 18:53

We saw room on the broom in bromley. Dd liked it and was laughing out loud at it. When we got there I almost didn't get her in as the theatre was pitch black with the stage lit up and she screamed so I had to coax her in holding Ds in my arms and all the bags. We enjoyed it though so that's the main thing although it was all quite stressful!

September60b · 02/06/2015 20:06

Oh little the sicky thing sounds grim! Dd projectile vomited all over a relative who doesn't like milk at the weekend. They were very polite about it but not sure they will hold her again for a while!

We don't really have much of a daytime routine dec. She recently started waking at 6 and having 3 naps of 2 hrs but that changed 3 days ago to naps of only 40 mins to an hour. She can only manage around 2 hours awake time which is the only thing that I can work by.

I know you've mentioned before that you like routine. I do too so it's a completely new thing for me just 'going with it!'

LittlePink · 02/06/2015 20:13

Haha sept. It's embarrassing when they happens. Another mum at a play group was stroking Ds' cheek and he projectile vomited all over her hand. I was very apologetic and she was totally fine about it but I was still mortified. My churned up breast milk all over her hand!

I struggle with lack of routine too. So going with it throws me but I have to just take a deep breath and think I can't force him to sleep and it's not fair to keep dd at home while I enforce strict naps in the cot in order to get him to do the longer naps. He sleeps a lot better in his cot at home for naps but we have to have a life and go out.

Nesspot · 02/06/2015 23:42

DS threw up all over me today. It was a belter too - in my hair and everything!

Naps during the day are variable here too although I did manage to get him in his crib once for one, rather than on his bouncy chair or lying on his playmat. He looks cute but the photo looks so set up! I swear it wasn't tho!

He's in his own room for the first time tonight. Don't think I'll sleep a wink...
