Our babies are nearly half a year! Where on earth has the time gone?

Dd is a VERY light sleeper (rubbish night here tonight!)
What's the app called? Is it on iPhone? Not sure if it would keep her awake ... Worth a try

Also has anyone tried Ewan the sheep? How does it work? So many baby things that are not being used here... The cot being one of them!!

bigfam · 28/09/2015 06:43

The one i use is called baby sleep, it's got a picture of a baby asleep on a half moon. Not sure if it's available on iphone, but one must be. Just go to your app store and search white noise apps. The one i use is really good, as it stays on whilst the phone is being used and there's an upgrade (cost about £1) so you can set the timer to never stop Grin

The one I use is sound sleeper Pesto. It's really good, rain is a favourite!

I've wondered about Ewan the sheep too. A friend raved about it so it might be worth a go!

Alyx80 · 29/09/2015 20:58

We tried white noise when he was a baby but it didn't help so haven't bothered since. He does love his teddy comforter though!

Not up to much at the minute, he trying to crawl but not getting very far, he tends to push himself backwards and then get really frustrated lol. He's loves clapping and waved yesterday for the first time, so cute!

bigfam · 30/09/2015 12:28

Patsy had to have (another) cast put on her arm, again for another 3 weeks. Then in 3 months we'll be back for another xray and to make sure i'm happy with her arm (as although it's healed there will be a significant deformity in the shape o her arm) bit nervous to be honest.
Here's josie enjoying a rusk

Ah poor Patsy, hope it's not causing her too much hassle though.

I really hope this pic uploads, it's the funniest face she's pulled yet!

Pesto11 · 05/10/2015 10:14

Hi everyone
9months in our tummies and now 9 months out in the real world!!

For those still breastfeeding - how many times a day (and night) do you breastfeed?
Dd has milk at 7.30, 9.30, 1, 4, 7.15, 10.15 and wants cuddles and boob in the middle of the night (1,3,5) but not drinking much before falling asleep on me.
Solids- fruit for breakfast at 10, lunch 12, rice cakes or grapes as snacks at 3, dinner at 5.30

Not sure about crying it out... Tried it for a week and she's still waking up and crying.
Is she hungry? Or is it just habit and wanting comfort?

Alyx80 · 05/10/2015 14:28

Q is now 38 weeks and I was pg for 38 weeks!
He feeds probably at least 6 times a day between 6am and 7pm and nothing at night. It wildly varies though and some feeds are very short and snacky.
He's desperately trying to crawl at the minute, I thought he'd be a while yet but this past two weeks he's been trying to move about more.

bigfam · 05/10/2015 16:37

Apparently josies world is more interesting being viewed from a standing position, once she has crawled to where she wants she will promptly stand up be it the washing basket or pram. She's having three meal a day, but gets really constipated. I seem to have lost my period Shock

Shes just been caught trying to climb the stairs, she had actually got up one (i was watching her the whole time) Grin

September60b · 06/10/2015 17:01

Pesto, sounds quite similar to my feeding routine however it does really vary! I feel like I need to try and stretch out the time between feeds because she's barely eating any solids. It's got worse since she had a d&v bug a few weeks ago.

She tends to have breakfast at around 7.30 (where I try and force feed her a few mouthfuls or porridge/weetabix). Lunch time varies depending on her naps which are up in the air at the moment. Dinner around 5ish.

Sorry to hear the sleep training didn't work for you Pesto! I hear there is a sleep regression at around 8 months so maybe the 4 month and 8 month have just rolled into one! Certainly feels like it here.

Clever babies on the move! Not sure I will be able to handle it when dd starts walking. She won't feel so much like a baby anymore then!

bigfam · 09/10/2015 10:33

Poor ds is home today, he came down this morning and his lips were as white as his face and has been sick more times than i can count Sad hope it doesn't go through the rest of the family!

Alyx80 · 13/10/2015 22:28

Hope your DS is ok now bigfam and no one else caught it! Poor thing.

Q is now desperately trying to crawl, it seems to have come from no where lol. He manages to cross the room backwards and gets very irate about it lol.

bigfam · 14/10/2015 17:49

He was sick (at my count) 12 times, and by 11am was right as rain. I wish josie was still trying to crawl, she's now taken it upon herself to climb anything then walk along it, it's scary! Patsy's cast is coming off friday! Grin

bigfam · 15/10/2015 13:53

Anyone's lo suffered with ringworm? I'm sure josie has it on her head-and its spreading to her scalp, oh's family are convinced they're ACTUALLY worms (i know they're not) Grin thinking a trip to doctors after dd2's hospital apt tomorrow!

bigfam · 18/10/2015 18:07

Hope everyone is well? She's developed a new (super cute) skill of pointing at people and things! Grin she uses her thumb whilst doing it and plays with the other pointing at each other

Dec1314mummy · 20/10/2015 02:51

Morning all, sorry to hear about Patsy bigfam. It sounds like Josie is developing well.
Well once again it's been ages since I've posted, although I do check more often to see what everyone has to say. Posts have slowed down a lot! I guess everyone is busy out and about with little ones!

Well dd is into everything. She's walking with the walker now and standing for a few seconds alone. I think it's because her and Ds are so close in age and so determined to do what he is doing. She is saying a few words, again copying him as he doesn't say an awful lot! His new thing is to drive his cars around saying up down whenever he gets to a bump, so she echos down and then sits down! So funny! I'm missing them a lot at the moment as I'm out of the house 7-6. Half term next week though! They are both coping well with it and seem really happy so that makes it a lot easier.
I'm awake as poor Ds has horrible eczema and so keeps waking. I'm covering him in cream and then he goes back to sleep. Poor thing, I hate to see them suffering and it's horrible to not be able to do a lot to help! I also know dd will be awake soon and will need a bottle to resettle so I'm struggling to get back to sleep. The stinking cold I have doesn't help!
Well I hope everyone is well. Grin

Hope the babies are all well
Winter on its way again, need to get baby a proper coat and mittens

She's still sleeping in our bed... Twists and turns so much in her sleep -double bed isn't big enough!

Enjoying our baby groups that we go to... Will have to find new ones after she's 1!

bigfam · 23/10/2015 14:57

Josies still in our bed too pesto, i know i'm digging myself a hole but don't want her in her own bed just yet!
We went for an ultrasound today on patsy's kidneys and bladder, they've found a cyst in her right kidney Sad

Pesto11 · 23/10/2015 17:27

Oh dear poor patsy
Good job it's been spotted and can now get on with medication/ treatment
Hope she's not in pain
Take care x

September60b · 24/10/2015 10:26

Sorry to hear about Patsy bigfam but at least it has been spotted. Have they said what the next course of action will be?

I wouldn't worry about your dd's in your beds. Dd is currently being fed to sleep but in my mind, she's still quite small and it works for now so I'm just going with it! It does mean that she is still very reliant on me though.

She's standing now but quite happy to stay where she is rather than trying to walk!

bigfam · 24/10/2015 10:59

Not sure what will happen yet, it might be the reason she has a few uti's. The doctor will call us in the week i think. Josie is also practicing standing on her own, and will walk when holding on to the walker but not when inside it.
