Our babies are nearly half a year! Where on earth has the time gone?

Dd's foot is fine, just soft tissue damage that will take a while to heal. Weather here has been so bad that I had to go out and buy a tumble dryer as my washing was piling up. Josie is nearly there with crawling, she also likes to get on all fours and rock backwards and forwards, down to only 2 sleeps during the day now but at night she's sleeping from 9pm til 7.30am most nights. She's been really grumpy since yesterday and has even fallen asleep on me now so think she's feeling a bit off. She hates being cuddled to sleep usually.

We've just had five days away in a caravan in Wales and the weather has been really mixed. We had a day of torrential rain followed by a day of gorgeous sunshine! The boys all loved it though and spent hours on their scooters. Q had conjunctivitis while we were there, he looked bad poor thing and he's passed it on to me! I look like I've spent all day crying with red puffy eyes lol.

Q is doing well, still sleeping fab and night and rubbish in the day but I can live with that! He's doing ok with the weaning and I definitely think he's having less feeds now. No signs of teeth at the minute yet. He's sitting really well now but no other signs of movement which is good, I'm dreading baby proofing - especially with the amount of lego in my house lol.

I moved him into the pushchair seat of his pram today, I had to admit that he was getting too big for the cArrycot and he looked very happy now he could see more!

Clever babies on the move already!!
Still having nightmare nights here, feeding every 2 hours in the night and co sleeping again!
Day times feel like I have a 7m old, nights feel like she's a newborn still!!

Think she's starting to feel separation anxiety now and she screams when I appear after a 10min bath when dh is home. How dare you leave me?!!

Have a great bank holiday everyone

bigfam · 31/08/2015 19:09

I know I've already said it, but this weather is so awful!!!! Well Josie is well and truly off, she is crawling so fast now I literally underestimate how quickly she can get to things.

bigfam · 01/09/2015 16:18

I never thought she'd go through so many trousers in a day. I just let her loose in the garden and she loved it but now I can't turn my back for two seconds, she's exploring everywhere. Our front room is 21ft but apparently that's not big enough

bigfam · 01/09/2015 21:44

Oh dear pasty has fractured her arm now. Lilly only had her foot cast removed 5th of August and now another broken bone, days before she's back at school too Sad

September60b · 01/09/2015 21:49

Oh but the garden is so much more exciting bigfam!

What are your babies doing in terms of naps? Dd has one at about 9am, then 1 but she still needs another nap quite late in the afternoon. Up to now this has worked ok but I think it's starting to affect her sleep in the early evening now as she's not tired enough at bedtime.

Hope everyone is ok Smile

Pesto11 · 03/09/2015 12:46

Oh no poor girl bigfam
Well done baby Josie!

We are still waking up every 2 hours in the night for a 10minute feed! I've tried increasing solids in the day but she has enough and I can't feed her any more!
Still no interest in bottles- I give up after she's cried and cried for what seems AGES!

My weight is ballooning which is getting me down but instead of getting up and doing something I end up eating more junk!! Argh!

Alyx80 · 03/09/2015 23:10

Poor Patsy bigfam, hope she's ok!

Q isn't well at the minute but not quite sure what is wrong, whether it's just teeth or what but he's very grumpy! His naps are rubbish, I'm hoping once the big boys are back at school that he'll manage a more decent sleep in the quiet.

Had a brilliant day out today before they're back at school next week. Where's my baby gone?!

bigfam · 04/09/2015 08:13

Thanks everyone, she's not too bad. Possibly a little but more mum sick but that's fine. The baby tries to escape from the front room via the kitchen and hallway, and when she's had enough of crawling will make her way over to me crying to be picked up. I can't believe how fast time's gone either alyx!!

bigfam · 08/09/2015 06:42

Back off to hospital today for a bright pink cast! How is everyone

bigfam · 08/09/2015 16:29

Here's patsy with a (rather huge) cast on.

Alyx80 · 11/09/2015 10:30

I'm here! Been a busy week with the boys going back to school! Ds3 has started in nursery class so it's just me and Q at home today. It seems very quiet!
Q is still doing ok, he's slept a bit better in the day this week and is still great at night. He seems to have got the hang of his food now and is polishing off good portions at lunch and dinner, both spoonfed and finger foods. He just isn't great at breakfast as he seems to hate all cereals lol.
Can't believe he's turned 8 months now! Still no teeth or movement just yet, he's quite happy sitting playing with his toys and seems to have gone off his Jumperoo too!

bigfam · 11/09/2015 12:05

Miserable here today, but i can see a nice big tooth coming through up the top, so am expecting number 3 to be here in the next few days. All back at school here too

Pesto11 · 11/09/2015 12:10

Cute photos bigfam

Still here, still not sleeping more than 2 hours at a time at night :(
Going to try crying it out tonight and get dh to deal with her
She's just getting used to me feeding her ... Don't know how it'll be considering I can't stand 5 mins crying and always give in!

Baby's been suffering with constipation and she completely refuses water! Trying to vary her diet and add more fruit (not bananas)

bigfam · 11/09/2015 18:24

Aww bless u pesto, sounds hard. Josies had exploding nappies for a week now, might take a trip to the doctors monday if it carries on. Her tooth is causing problems too, more so than the bottom ones did. Runny nose and everything Sad

Pesto11 · 12/09/2015 09:57

Well I managed almost 10mins then couldn't hack the crying and squirming anymore! And we were up every 2 hours after that

Anyone recommend any good books or techniques to help sleep more than 2 hours at a time?

Bigfam- dd tends to have a few dodgy nappies when she's teething

mzzzpiggy · 13/09/2015 13:45

Hi all,
Is there anyone on here in mid Cornwall? I'm looking to meet mums with similar age babies in real life. Thanks XXX

bigfam · 13/09/2015 19:20

Oh dear she's trying to pull herself up/climb on everything all ready. I'm preparing for a few bumps now

September60b · 14/09/2015 07:48

Pesto I wish I had the answer but I'm still in the same boat too! Dd goes down between 7 and 8 (usually!) and I have to resettle her a couple of times before I go to be day around 10. She's then up every 2 hours. It's got much worse since she started crawling and trying to pull herself up. I don't think I'm strong enough for cc and am pretty useless with sleep training full stop. I need to try something soon though as my tactic of just seeing how things go isn't really working!

Gorgeous pics bigfam!

Hope you and Q are enjoying the peace and quiet Alyx Smile.

bigfam · 15/09/2015 19:41

Oh god what a day. Dd2 (patsy) has another wee infection and because she has had more than one in the last few months she has to attend an ultrasound on her kidneys and bladder, that was worrying enough the dh's nan pointed out his uncle had dialysis for years and had only just got a donor. THEN she decided to cut her lovely ringlets, butchering the sides and top, i was nearly hysterical Sad luckily because it's soooo curly it's not too easy to notice. I need a bottle glass of Wine !!!!!

Pesto11 · 15/09/2015 21:08

Oh no patsy!! Lol I remember cutting my hair when I was about 7/8... Mum went mad!

sept after a lot of reading and trawling through mumsnet I have concluded that I am too weak to try cc as I give in after 5mins and dh isn't strong either!
Dh just asked me if baby is ever going back in her cot(!) err well you try!
Up every 2 hours breastfeeding ... If I go and lock myself away in spare room and force dh to comfort her with a bottle it will go on for hours! Can't cope!

So the sleepless nights and days continue...

Hope the babies are all well. No crawling here... And that's fine by me!
This time last year we were looking forward to Xmas and new year babies!

bigfam · 16/09/2015 18:32

Josie has decided to take her exploring to the next level (no pun intended) by attempting to climb up/on everything in sight. She's already bored with crawling and wants to be up and about with the others. Horrible weather here, i must admit though i was looking forward to the thunderstorms that were promised, but don't think we'll be having any!

bigfam · 16/09/2015 18:34

We're co sleeping pesto. Mainly because i worry she'll stick her leg or arm through the bars and really hurt herself or climb and fall!
