Sleeping is improving here... Slowly...
We have 4 teeth now so that was obviously what was bothering her all week!
Breastfeeding is gna get even more interesting!
Going to try a bottle again at some point this week

She's still feeding every 2/3 hours during the day- only drops a feed if she eats a lot of solids- which is rare.

Hope sleep has improved sept
Looking for teaching jobs - don't know how you did interviews just a few months after having baby dec taking all my energy to create a cv!

LittlePink · 09/08/2015 15:32

Sleeps gone haywire again. We were doing so well with lovely 11.5 hr stretches and nice long naps. Ur something's gone wrong and he's not settling well at bedtime, woke twice in the night last night, once coz he had his legs stuck in the bars and is back to cat naps again. Rubbish!

bigfam · 09/08/2015 19:41

Wow 4 teeth already pesto, we're waiting for the third to come through. It's affecting her sleep at night slightly. She's like a little worm now and is shuffling backwards and all over the place so don't think it will be long til she's crawling, which I'm dreading

Pesto11 · 09/08/2015 20:56

We have teeth but we don't know how to sit properly yet! And she's 7months now.
Getting good at moving on her front and back and general shuffling but as soon as I sit her up she arches her back and launches backwards to lie down! Funny girl!
I know babies do things at different ages so not concerned, just find it amazing - they've come along so far- although still sleeps and wakes up in the night like a newborn!
Hope everyone has had a lovely weekend and enjoyed the sunshine Smile

LittlePink · 10/08/2015 21:09

I'm dreading crawling too! That's when the real mischief starts.

I've started baby sign last few days. He's definitely interested and watched intently. I'm getting a good feeling that he'll pick it up. Just trying to stay as consistent as I can with it. What I want him to pick up asap is hungry, thirsty, more, milk and all finished/ all done. Would make life a lot easier! I remember how cute dd was when she used to do it. I the morning we'd go in to her room and she'd be stood up in the cot doing the sign for milk like mad like she was saying milk milk milk. I have fond memories of how cute baby sign was.

September60b · 10/08/2015 21:55

We do that too Little and dd is slowly starting to pick signs up now! She pays no attention to me whatsoever in the class though. Far too interested in the other babies!!

Dd is still fed on demand at the moment and I wouldn't say the number of feeds has reduced, but some of them have got shorter. She's not a big eater of solids though!

Sleep has improved here...for now! It always seems to go downhill again when I say it's improving so I'm not getting excited just yet. Glad sleep is improving for you pesto but sorry to hear it's not for you Little. Their sleep is so changeable isn't it?

LittlePink · 11/08/2015 08:32

Every night is different. He went 7.30-5.30 this morning, dummy in and back to sleep til 6.50! I couldn't settle though as my friend is due to have her baby next week and text me to say she'd been uncomfortable all day and started having back ache and stomach pains and we are on call to have her Ds so I couldn't get to sleep once she text that. Must have been a false alarm as I didn't hear anything else!

Alyx80 · 11/08/2015 19:53

Q has started to babble today. Now he's realised he can do it all we've heard all day is bab bab bab lol. I've even had the odd mumum too!
His other new trick is trying to copy giving kisses, so cute!

Have debated moving him into the pushchair seat from his carrycot but can't quite bring myself to do it lol, can't believe he's already old enough to go into the pushchair and I love seeing him all comfy in the carrycot.

I'm not looking forwards to the crawling stage either, it's much easier when they don't move about! I think he may be following in ds2&3's footsteps though and being a lazy lump. They were both 11/12 months before they crawled compared to ds1's 8 months and it was so much easier, there's too much Lego and bits lying about this house - I'm dreading making it baby safe!!

jobrum · 11/08/2015 20:04

For anyone who still breastfeeds: has anyone been bitten yet? Dd has brushed me with her teeth a couple of times and has had hard gums for a while but today sank her teeth into me and drew blood! I think she was frustrated due to a very blocked nose. Does firm ' no don't bite' work? I'm dreading it happening again.

Copying kisses, cute! I'm trying to get dd to clap but she just stares at me.

Alyx80 · 11/08/2015 22:03

Ouch, poor you no rum. I'm lucky enough to have Only been bitten once and fed all three of my older boys to between 21&36 months. A firm no works well and also if they bite and hold on to push them into your boob as this makes them let go rather than pulling them off which might hurt more! I think I loudly shrieked which probably isn't recommend but did work lol.

Alyx80 · 11/08/2015 22:04

*jobrum not no rum!

bigfam · 12/08/2015 11:38

Josie gives kisses, when I ask her she opens her mouth and sticks her tongue out and plants it over my mouth! We've progressed to badadadadad, I hardly ever hear mmmmumum

jobrum · 12/08/2015 14:48

A quick glance at the drinks collection confirms no rum Sad !

bigfam · 12/08/2015 15:59

Getting so big. Anyone else witnessed temper tantrums yet? She stretches out her arms, tilts her head and shakes

LittlePink · 12/08/2015 16:33

7 o clock where are you?!?!?

LittlePink · 12/08/2015 19:32

It's been a hard day. Ds is whinging and crying a lot lately. He woke at 3am screaming the house down. He had had a massive poo and was very annoyed to have been woken up by it and was furiously screaming. Clean nappy, dummy, back to sleep until 6.20.

Today Ive taken to wearing him in the ergo around the house as he wants to be held all the time and I can't get anything done. I've also broken out in spots and have had a brutal headache all day. Then period shows up for the first time in 16 mths. Was not looking forwards to its return and it's wiping me out. Anyway enough of my woes. Had a bath and dh brought me home hotel chocolate so it's not all bad!

In anser

LittlePink · 12/08/2015 19:36

In answer to the biting that was one of the reasons ive more or less stopped bfing. He was biting a lot and drawing blood and I got a bit fed up with it. I'm still doing the morning feed and he's so hungry in the morning he hasn't been biting. Think it was when he wasn't really fussed about the feed and he'd start nipping. I just finished the feed and sternly said no, that hurts mummy whilst shaking my head and he would start laughing which would make me laugh. Little monkey!

bigfam · 13/08/2015 19:52

How's your day been little? This weather is putting me in an awful mood Angry

LittlePink · 13/08/2015 21:02

Weather been awful here too. So hard to keep them entertained when it's like this. He's so whingy at the moment and I think the reason is he wants his dummy. I've started to limit the time he has it in the day and keep it purely for naps/ bedtime and he is not happy about it at all!

September60b · 14/08/2015 10:43

Sounds rough Little, how is he today? Middle of the night poos are the worst! Haven't had one of those for a while luckily as dd screams the place down.

Weather is so miserable today. It's tempting to stay in but dd settles so much better when she's been out so I might have to brave the rain and go outside for a bit.

The battle with solids is still ongoing! Some days she seems more interested than others. Yesterday she turned her nose up at everything. Not been bitten yet Jo but she doesn't have any teeth yet!

September60b · 14/08/2015 10:44

Oh and bigfam I think we might be getting the start of some tantrums as she has cried a few times when I've taken things off her!

Pesto11 · 14/08/2015 11:44

Hi everyone
Miserable weather here too :(
Going to head out this afternoon so hoping it brightens up

Just wondering for those who are still exclusively breastfeeding - how long does your baby sleep for at night before they need their next feed?

I'm really struggling with waking up every 2-3 hours for 10min feed

bigfam · 14/08/2015 19:42

I've never seen anything like this baby when she's going to bed at night, the amount she moves is literally unreal!!! Daytime naps are down to 2/3 a day for up to an hour and that's it. I'm exhausted just watching her get comfy tonight

September60b · 14/08/2015 20:49

Pesto I find it's very hit and miss, sometimes it's 2 hours but more recently she's been going 4 hours through the night. Also within the last 2 weeks I've found she doesn't actually want a feed when she wakes - this is all her own doing, I haven't deliberately withheld! I think both our dd's are 'snackers' aren't they? Very short feeds which is great in the daytime but doesn't seem to fill them up for very long!

It seems to slowly be getting better but we do have the odd few days where it regresses and I lose the will to live.

LittlePink · 14/08/2015 21:26

I'm just struggling with the amount of whinging this week. He's down to 2 naps sometimes 3. But today he slept for 2 hrs until 2pm so I thought he could get through til bedtime on the 2,3,4 routine but by 5 he was a total mess. He screamed hysterically at dinner time so I gave him calpol and anbesol halfway through with no effect so I got him out of highchair and after a while of him losing the plot completely he passed out in my arms at 5.20!

Sept what have you been offering her? Is she tw or blw? I was blw but I think I've got a lazy boy as he seems to prefer being fed to feeding himself. It's much less mess too!
