Our babies are nearly half a year! Where on earth has the time gone?

Aww how sweet little. We're having horrendous days atm, she gets overtired then starts throwing her head back and screaming and it's so hard to settle her, I'm wondering if her top teeth are coming through. Poor girly if they are, the bottom two are growing nicely though and look so cute when she smiles (few and far between!) I can't complain really as nights are fine really. Nice to hear that others nights are improving, fingers crossed it's here to stay!

bigfam · 29/07/2015 22:25

I can't watch that Sept, I will get broody, I always cry when they hold their babies for the first time, happy tears though. Always reminds me of how it feels, so amazing.

Pesto11 · 30/07/2015 02:37

Aww the clapping must be so cute!
I switched to OBEM and dh promptly switched it to another channel "no no no not that programme!!"

We've just had 4 hours straight... That's the longest stretch of sleep she's had for a while... Let's hope for another 4 hours... Or more...

We are packing for our first baby beach trip tomorrow- I'm so excited to be getting away!

bigfam · 30/07/2015 11:35

She's been like a different baby these last few days with how miserable she's been, she's just had a big nap and is currently laughing her head off playing with dd2s feet so hopefully she'll be happier today!

jobrum · 30/07/2015 15:04

Yeah, we have fighting to stay awake, more night wakings, apetite all over the place, teething (I can see the bloody things, why wont they just come through!) and after waking up with a slight cold this morning I've just realised dd must have had one too. Explained the horrendously blocked nose. I'm just waiting for everything to settle, some of the nights are making me miserable. And exhausted!
We're viewing a nursery tomorrow. I realise I may have left it late so need to arrange to go and see some others. Alparently some women reserve places when they are still pregnant?! Luckily we are surrounded by lots of very good ones so I'm hopeful we'll find one that feels right. I'm trying not to think about someone else looking after her!

LittlePink · 31/07/2015 19:09

Bigfam do you still recommend the aptamil anti reflux milk? I'm considering changing the milk from first milk. His reflux is still going on. He's not phased by it but he's almost formula fed now apart from the morning bf. He's been quite bad with the reflux the last couple of days. Really wish it would just stop. I've had enough of it.

bigfam · 31/07/2015 19:53

We're using cow and gate anti reflux now, but they both work. If it's still ongoing I'd definitely do it, josies never sick now (apart from when she over eats!) the difference is remarkable, I'd completely forgotten about it to be honest but I'm sure if we tried regular formula it would come back with a vengeance. Hope this helps little

So sorry I haven't posted for ages, for some reason I couldn't log on but have been keeping up. Sorry to hear others are having teething problems! Dd is so grouchy at the minute and is not sleeping well. Ds has decided he doesn't want to nap as well but is getting beyond exhausted so is pushing lots of boundaries! Dh is also ill, so it's a bit of a mad house here at the moment! Trying to make the most of it though as only have 4 weeks until I'm back at work again. Going away next Friday and have been trying to decide what to do bed wise for Ds. He has been in a toddler bed at home for about 4 months now, but he can open doors and without a stair gate I'm thinking he may be better in the travel playpen! It's safer and I know he won't sleep anyway as he hates change of routine! I have forgotten the days where holidays were a stress reliever instead of creator!

God did she fight the nap she needed this morning, eventually she nodded off but I had to keep the hoover on for two hours Shock the white noise app doesn't cut it for day naps....

LittlePink · 01/08/2015 13:10

I had a terrible time getting Ds down this morning too. He woke up at 5.15am and wouldn't go back to sleep so by 8 he was so over tired and difficult to settle.

Thanks for the milk advice bigfam. I've bought some c & g anti reflux milk and will see how it goes.

bigfam · 01/08/2015 14:22

Hope it works little, let us know Smile

bigfam · 01/08/2015 15:51

Think she may have a temp, she's very red cheeked and I can't see it being more teeth. First time I've had to cradle her to sleep in a long time.

bigfam · 01/08/2015 15:58

What do you think, teething cheeks?!

Jan 2015- what will they be doing next? Sitting, eating, crawling....
September60b · 01/08/2015 21:23

Looks like it bigfam! Bless her, I hope she's doing a bit better tonight.

Dd has a sickness bug, teething and a cold so she's really unhappy tonight. I haven't seen her this poorly before and I don't like it at all! Don't think I'll get much sleep tonight as I'll be checking her every half an hour.

Hope the anti reflux formula helps Little.

bigfam · 01/08/2015 21:31

Aww Sept I hope she's better soon, it's horrible when they're not well, hope you both get the rest you need too.

She's good at night, just gets very grumpy when she's tired during the day. I'll be shocked if another tooth comes through so soon, and slightly sad. 3 weeks ago she was a gummy bear and now she has 2 with potentially more in the next couple of weeks!

Pesto11 · 01/08/2015 21:40

Oh no poor you and dd sept I can't cope with teething pains and lack of sleep let alone sickness bug and cold too. Poor little thing.
Make sure you get some rest tmrw if dh or someone else can watch baby for a bit.

I'm having a meltdown about lack of sleep atm...I'm still breastfeeding, she's not eating that much in terms of solids... So I'm thinking of introducing a formula feed at night in the hope that she might sleep better?
She's putting on weight fine, but she still wakes up every 2 hours, has a 5 min breast feed and falls asleep and I'm exhausted!

September60b · 02/08/2015 11:57

Thanks all! Last night was horrendous so I think it'll be an early night for us all tonight!

Same situation for us too pesto. Dd rarely goes longer than 2.5 hours through the night now but only feeds for 5-10 mins at a time. I tried one night of trying not to feed straight away when she woke but wimped out because it didn't work and I just wanted to get back to sleep! She's never taken to a bottle before but I am so very tempted to try her with some formula at night.

Pesto11 · 02/08/2015 15:13

Think I'm gna give it one more week.
Then I'll try battling with a bottle for nighttime.

Hope you're managing a lazy Sunday today and dd is feeling better.

bigfam · 02/08/2015 18:09

Oh my god she's been screaming for an hour

Pesto11 · 02/08/2015 18:35

Feeling your pain bigfam
We are stuck in a car, on the motorway and traffic not moving!!!!
Baby screaming, dh shouting at me to calm her down and I'm sweating buckets ... Someone airlift me out of here!

Aaagghhhh

bigfam · 02/08/2015 18:51

As soon as the car stops moving they just know don't they?! He shouldn't be shouting at you though, hope you're ok. She's finally nodded off but I doubt it will last, normally I find a way around it and stop her crying but nothing helped this time. Don't know what's going on x

bigfam · 02/08/2015 20:36

Well now she's just in a really strange mood, we're upstairs on my bed, she's not exactly crawling but I'm amazed by how she can shift about whilst blowing raspberries and screeching (happily!)
Hope your car ride wasn't too bad pesto

Alyx80 · 02/08/2015 23:05

We're back from our holiday - it went far too fast!
Q absolutely loved it, I think he lived in the pool! He slept in a cot there and I think he got used to the space so he doesn't like his hammock much now we're home. Going to get the travel cot out for him tomorrow and try him in that. He can't go into the cotbed yet as ds3 is still using it!
He's still on Spanish holiday time And only went to bed within the last half hour but still earlier than midnight like last night! Hopefully he'll gradually bring bedtime back forwards to 8pm like before. Ds3 slept 8pm-11am last night, I think he was doing a bit of catching up as we've had very late nights away!
Got back to a letter telling me I've been called for Jury duty, have asked to be let off as he's still fully breastfed and no way can I leave him for two weeks, let alone sorting childcare for the other 3!

Jan 2015- what will they be doing next? Sitting, eating, crawling....
Pesto11 · 02/08/2015 23:10

Hate being trapped with crying baby in the back of the car! Had to add a detour and feed her in a side road once we got off the motorway !

August is here... Babies are turning 7 months old!

Pesto11 · 02/08/2015 23:12

Welcome home alyx
Gorgeous pic of Q sitting up
Wow jury duty... Yep hopefully you'll be excused!
