I live an hour from London but never drive there unless its on the outskirts, the traffic is ridiculous. I'd get the train/tube in from somewhere if you can. Lion king is awesome but really loud, all the shows are, so it depends on your baby. babydolly couldn't sit on my lap that long or stand the noise.

Although I'm taking her to a festival tomorrow...

ladydolly · 30/07/2015 16:52

Legoland though! Jealous!! Perhaps you could stay in Windsor?

Strawberryfield12 · 30/07/2015 19:02

ladydolly do you have a BBQ for your new house? Nothing like first grill in the new house after a day of unpacking! The pleasures of summer house moving.
Your "old crap" might fit beautifully in the new place. I bet you have already all planned out where and what will be standing! :)

omama · 30/07/2015 19:41

strawberry one of the mums at school stayed at the holiday inn express in slough, she said its next to the train station so could leave car & take train but but i've no idea how easy this is to get to where we want to visit. I will look up the areas you have suggested though thankyou.

ladydolly yes i'm excited to take ds to legoland as he will absolutely love it, but slightly worried how busy it'll be in summer holidays! will check out places to stay in windsor too thanks.

haventgotaclue1 · 30/07/2015 20:08

happy how long did your DD sleep for in the end? Mine went for 3 hours and then I decided to wake her up - I'm sure she would have gone on for longer as it took me a few times of calling her name quite loudly to wake her and then when she did open her eyes, she put her thumb back in her mouth and closed them again! I couldn't believe it Smile...wonder if it will ever happen again...

DD went to bed at 6.40...have had to go into her room twice since then....so far it's been all quiet since 7.09pm...Grin Grin

Arkkorox · 31/07/2015 08:55

Dd refused to go to sleep till 10pm last night, woke up for half a bottle at half one then back to sleep till half 6 Hmm

My GOD she is grumpy today!!!! However I don't care cause dp is paying for me to go and have my hair cut Grin

haventgotaclue1 · 31/07/2015 09:07

Oooooo Ark Grin - enjoy - you'll feel like a new woman! Are you going to have some radical new style, or sticking with what you know?

MrsAukerman · 31/07/2015 09:50

Poor dh tried to sort a night waking yesterday and ds was having none of it. Dh cried real sobs. Heartbreaking.
Actually had a not too bad night apart from that.
Ds is now self-settling for bedtime and also did it for me for a night waking too. Progress is being made but not by dh. It must be hard for him.

Thats very tough amy. Hugs to your poor DH.

Give him lots of "happy baby" time today to stop him feeling discouraged. DH can make DS laugh by pulling stupid faces and thats their special bond, as I'm more cuddly/nap/comfort.

We're staying in MILs where we all are sharing a room again. I was a bit nervous but its worked out OK - apart from DS waking up screaming at 7.30pm cos the bungalow was full to the brim of excited grandchildren rampaging outside the bedroom door. I said "oh I just had to go in cos he woke up screaming" and MIL was like "Oh I wonder why - the kids were being very good" Hmm

They may have been being technically "good" but they were still shrieking at the top of their lungs and doing exactly as they pleased. Honestly, I look at my little nephews and get so worried! They're almost feral! I really don't want my sweet little boy to he like that!

Strawberryfield12 · 31/07/2015 10:25

DD is about to cut her 3rd tooth and last night was up every 2 hours and decided the day is on at 5.30am. Took her to our bed and after 30 mins of noise and pulling of my hair she fell asleep. Woke up when DH turned in sleep, all very happy and chirpy. God, I was definitely getting more sleep when she was 2-3 months old!

I fear I might have the future clown or comedian growing up here. She keeps copying us and making faces and is over the moon if we laugh.

Making doughnuts today. God knows why I am doing it, I don't even like them! I am a cookbooks hoarder and seeing one baking book on Amazon being priced from £20 to £4 meant I had to buy it. The result - around 20 doughnuts is about to be made. I think I will roll out a trolly on our driveway and will sell them with tea to the passers by... Hmm

Strawberryfield12 · 31/07/2015 11:14

MrsA lots of hugs to both of you. I dont think we have guts for sleep training either. Considering to try a homeopathy, DD has been quite restless even in sleep, suppose its teeth. I am dredding she might start to walk or I will return to work before her sleep is sorted.
This whole thing makes me think about women in Spain where statutory maternity leave is 16 weeks. How do they do it?! I would be a wreck if would be working since April. They must have been soaking up the energy from the sun and stuff.

Annarose2014 · 31/07/2015 11:58

My cousins in the States went back at 3 months as their leave was all used up. Horrific.

omama · 31/07/2015 15:25

ohhh thats so soon Sad Sad

today dd seems to have had a personality transplant. super clingy & cries if I put her down (she's been like this for a few days), but now also completely refusing to nap & screaming as soon as i put her in her cot even though she's shattered, i've no idea what to do with her. DS wants to do baking & I cant as she wont be put down & i've left the sling in dh's car argh!!!

Is this leap 6? Sad Sad hope so as I want my sunny happy baby back soon!

Annarose2014 · 31/07/2015 15:55

Leap 6 is the PITS! And worse, once it's over, you're left with a stroppy toddler!

ladydolly · 31/07/2015 17:01

Can someone explain to me how dd can be woken by me rustling my sheets or a dog barking but is sleeping in the middle of the crowd of main stage 1 at this festival?? She's been awesome, all smiles for everyone around us, nap in the ergo, play and now sleeping in the buggy while I have a PINT of ALE with actual ALCOHOL. Bliss. I love her.

Sleep still broken, very inconsistent. Last night was feed at 9.30, feed at 2.30, rock back to sleep at 4.30, in bed with me for a dreamfeed at 5.30. Up at 6.45. I can just about cope with that, any more and I'm wiped out.

ladydolly · 31/07/2015 17:02

Also I've dressed us matching, me double denim shirt and shorts, her denim jumpsuit. Both in trilbys. We look awesome and I don't care how lame it is.

MrsAukerman · 31/07/2015 17:44

Oh for a like button! Sounds ace ladydolly.

Greenstone · 31/07/2015 18:02

Well obviously we need a pic lady! Sounds brilliant

Thisisimpossible · 31/07/2015 19:18

Like like like! Pic please ladydolly!

Thisisimpossible · 31/07/2015 19:20

Same here. DS gets woken by me treading on a squeaky floorboard. Today at Hickstead he slept through a very loud brass band walking around the arena right next to us. How does that work?!

ladydolly · 31/07/2015 19:27

Here we go!!

November 2014 - The one where they won't stay still.
eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 31/07/2015 20:07

Look fab ladydolly

I am putting off sleep training as I need to do some daytime feeding routine sorting as he stills bf on demand and I am back to work in 5weeks so another week and I will cut him down to morning bedtime and a eve feed to tie in with work plus offer a beaker milk mid morning and mid afternoon at the mo he just raspberry blows it everywhere, I am hoping he is like Ds 1 and accepts no milk n has food in its place.

I can then see how it,affects the nights before considering sleep training. For ds1 he continued sleeping through but with this monkey it seems like if I changed the colour of his blanket it would cause him to wake an extra 10 times :)

Strawberryfield12 · 31/07/2015 23:01

Yay ladydolly looking great!

We are off to River Cottage summer fair in 2 weeks. Nowhere near as loud etc, but I hope DD behaves and let's us enjoy. Up to now she has always been fine with travel and going to places despite me expecting the worse.

Greenstone · 31/07/2015 23:41

Yay you both look amazing! Baby dolly is scrumptious.

Well I'm getting my tit bitten here folks. Not fun. She is really teething and pulling on ears constantly. Yesterday she bit me hard on the nipple and i screeched - she nearly lost her life with fright, took her ages to calm down. A few more involuntarily nips over last night's feeds but she was crying as soon as she did it, poor thing. No biting today but my nipple is sore and I'm kind of on tenterhooks.

She has a weird pattern - absolutely no sign of giving up the 10.30/11pm feed but then goes through til 3.30 or even 4.30, then usually back to sleep until 7.30. This morning she had to be woken at 8.30 (but had been unsettled for about an hour after her 11pm feed so catching up I guess). All in all it could be worse. It's amazing though I'm so so tired these last weeks now that I'm getting more sleep. I remember this happening with dd1.

Oh and thanks for the nappy tip ark! Going up a size worked perfectly the first night, but this morning she was damp again...but still slept in late so I'm a bit perplexed.

River Cottage sounds fab Strawberry!

Arkkorox · 01/08/2015 07:56
