Oh fuck I think he can climb the stair gate Shock

ThreeFrazzledFandangos · 23/05/2015 15:46

Ha I don't have stair gates any more Deladion. I took them down a year agoafter DS learned that if he just ran at them they'd usually pop straight open!

Luckily it was not one that led straight down the stairs!

SpottyTeacakes · 23/05/2015 15:55

We haven't had stair gates for ages either only because ds is fine on the stairs and has been for months.

Has anyone seen that story in America where a judge practically blackmailed a woman into signing consent forms for her sons circumcision? I haven't seen a thread on here about it. America is so backward in things like this Sad

WLmum · 23/05/2015 18:38

No stairgates here either.
spotty I just saw that story too - it's hideous. There is no medical reason for it. It's unnecessary surgery. It is so many kinds of wrong. Poor mother and poor boy.

SpottyTeacakes · 23/05/2015 18:53

The boy has keloids too SadAngry

DeladionInch · 23/05/2015 19:17

It's the one turning the lounge into a playpen. I may harto succumb to having company in the bathroom noe

The American thing is truly vile Angry

WLmum · 23/05/2015 21:16

delad I've had company in the bathroom for 8 years now and honestly expect another 8!

DeladionInch · 23/05/2015 21:48

I was quite chuffed to have avoided it so far!!

ThreeFrazzledFandangos · 23/05/2015 21:54

Child stood on your knee shouting "mummy having a big poo". Check!

MrsNutella · 23/05/2015 22:02

Delad I don't know how you've managed to achieve alone time in the toilet! DS has always insisted on coming with. And once he could move I didn't really get a choice. Now if you try and lock him out he knocks on the door or shouts through the door to ask what you're doing, or to ask if you're ok, or if you're having a poo

Actually, speaking of DS and his toilet habits.... His protest when he doesn't fall asleep in bed because he has had too much nap is to remove nappy Sad does anyone have any tips on how I can make a nappy really really hard to remove?! I'm going to try putting it on backwards tomorrow night... Except if he goes to sleep I won't even get to test it out! Wink

ThreeFrazzledFandangos · 23/05/2015 22:23

Stick a strip of duct tape across the front over the tabs Nutella. That's what I've seen recommended before.

That baby looks scared!

Good idea but he is in cloth Confused

Watching the Eurovision with err Australia and loving the show with the happiest percussion dude ever!

WLmum · 23/05/2015 22:50

Love it frazzled
My fave thing of today was at dbs house, db has a ginger cat called Brian. T went upstairs and called out super excited 'mummy I have found black Brian'! (Dbs other cat who is black obv and not called Brian obv)

ThreeFrazzledFandangos · 23/05/2015 22:56

Can't help you with cloth I'm afraid.

I'm watching EUrovision too Nutella, I'm pissed.

Barbeasty · 24/05/2015 09:07

We used nappy nippas on DD's cloth nappies, and she never managed to undo them. We even used them over the velcro nappies. But we had a 2 part nappy with separate nappy and cover, I'm not sure what you use.

We watched eurovision too, then I had to get up with DD at 6.30 this morning. Definitely someone else's turn tomorrow!

Despite hideous traffic meaning we didn't get to Bournemouth until 4 pm, we managed to get to the beach for a couple of hours yesterday. A took his sand castle building very, very seriously. Not impressed with the cold sea!

DeladionInch · 24/05/2015 11:51

Couple of nappy pins nut? I can post you some if you like and I can find them

Beasty let me know if you have time for coffee!!!

MrsNutella · 24/05/2015 12:09

Two part nappy system. The wrap is poppers and the nappy is either Velcro, poppers or a nappy nippa. None is effective!
Delad I was thinking nappy pins. I'm sure I've seen them for sale somewhere... They do terrify me a bit thought ConfusedGrin I'm going to try the wrap on backwards and see if that helps. Although I know that if he isn't in bed awake it isn't an issue. It's his protest when he doesn't want to go to sleep.
doesn't help that if DH goes into him and finds him nappy less he tends to go a bit nuts at him I just sigh, ask DS why he took his nappy off. Ask him if he wants to use the toilet (he almost always squeezes out some wee) then I sort out his bed and put a fresh nappy on.

DeladionInch · 24/05/2015 13:00

Happy to pop a few in an envelope. Is he in a popper vest? You could put that on backwards and pin it. You don't want to pin a wrap and if that comes off there'll still be sheets to change. But try wrap on backwards first. Or a toy in with him?

halestone · 24/05/2015 19:46

oooo last week as a unmarried woman DeladGrin I hope you enjoy the final lead up to your wedding.

H is asleep in bedGrin she just suddenly fell asleep on my shoulder so i've taken her up. Dp is in bed as he is back to work at 9pm so i have the TV and couch to myself Grin I think its Dance Class thats worn her out today.

I've lost count delad how many days now?
hales hope you get a full peaceful night. I love it when they fall asleep on you like that. Imagine feeling so full of trust and comfort that you could do that. Beautiful.

halestone · 24/05/2015 23:20

WL i never thought of it that way before, that's lovely. Shes still asleep now Grin

OP posts:
MrsNutella · 25/05/2015 07:41

WL I often think that when I lift a sleeping DS out of the car. It is the sweetest thing mainly because they are asleep

Well to add to the list, backwards wrap did nothing to confuse DS and he learnt how to climb out of his cot. So I'm removing the bumper air wrap thing - which is really just a guard to stop him losing a dummy in the night and there will be no nap today. At all.

SpottyTeacakes · 25/05/2015 07:43

We had an awful night then I was up with ds before 5:30. Dh stayed in bed until 7, got up and buggered off to work leaving all the washing up he didn't do last night. Ffs.

WLmum · 25/05/2015 08:36

Oh dear spotty
I've got a poorly T here - lots of vomiting. There go our out for lunch plans which I was really looking forward too - our local curry house is doing a 'free' lunch to raise money for Nepal.
Dd2 is going to be heartbroken if her pal can't come over this aft but it's not fair to pass on bugs. Will see how things progress.
