About 15 mins if just feeding. Can be up to 40 mins if feeding to sleep. X

Arkkorox · 10/03/2015 18:19

Dd has just spent the last 25 mins on the playmat smiling and almost giggling at the dog who I'm trying to clicker train to bring me things instead of take them to her bed or put them ON the baby

Anna - I had a long post typed up for you but lost it. In short - I think you are doing amazingly. I can't imagine what this must be like for you but am sending cyber-vibes your way everyday.

weeonion · 10/03/2015 21:02

Has anyone else experienced the dreaded 4 month hormone slump of losing hair etc. My nails are all breaking flaking and my hair most definitely become thinner. I am taking my placenta capsules which means it not as bad as it was with dd1.

I saw myself in a shop window today and nearly wept at how I look. I think I have piled more weight on since having dd2 instead of,losing it. Sad

moggle · 10/03/2015 21:14

DD is taking 25-30 mins to do one side. It is driving me nuts. She seems to need both sides too so feeds are taking an hour. If i'm out I tend to swap her over at 15 mins, but at home especially at bedtime I just let her take as long as she wants. She falls asleep on the boob but woe betide me if I try to put her to bed straight afterwards!

Arkkorox · 10/03/2015 21:15

With you on the weight weeonion, need to get a grip!

OP posts:
Greenstone · 10/03/2015 23:00

Thanks for the replies about boob time. Apart from the before bed feed, dd drinks off a boob very quickly, usually under 10 mins and then needs winding and won't really go back on same boob. So lots of foremilk I guess. Makes her windy.
Feeding again Hmm wish I knew when these unsettled evenings will end.

Yes to crappy thin hair!

Annarose2014 · 10/03/2015 23:28

Thank you weeonion. I think there's a hefty dose of denial at play. I'm so immensely busy taking care of everyone that I don't have time to eat, let alone dwell on it.

And yet I still look 4 or 5 months pregnant. WTF??! I'm back at my old dress size but it doesn't bloody matter as half the stuff in my wardrobe is far too tight around the middle. Ugh.

utopian99 · 11/03/2015 03:38

Sympathise with the soft middle too. Am back into half my old jeans I'd say but have 1st left to lose now. Walk for about an hour, wearing A, most days, and have cut out the random daytime snacks replaced with coffee but it's going achingly slowly and the skin around my tummy is taking an age. I can feel the muscle under it, it's just still so loose feeling. Angry
Have bought mama mio get waisted for it out of desperation (will report back if it does anything At All,) and dh is holding thefort after bedtimes at 8pmwhile I jog two nights a week. Only just started so we'll see how it goes but I hate having this soft bit round the top of trousers. Rage.

Arkkorox · 11/03/2015 04:00

I hate 3:30 am feeds. Wherever they came from they need to go back.

You lot will all be smug my nice long nights sleeps are out the window it seems lol. Though still doing 10-3 reliably.

OP posts:
ladydolly · 11/03/2015 07:06

I don't mind 3.30, buy when it brings its friends 11.30, 1.30, 5.30 and 6.30 that the party gets overcrowded!

I'm back in all my old jeans but they look like shit. My arse has disappeared, naked its the arse of an 80ur old man. But my belly is huge and hangs like an apron. My wardrobe is limited anyway due to bf but I'm sick of shirts and leggings. And flats because my feet are still fat. Basically the only part of me that's still the same is my vagina so I'm thankful for the c section in that respect.

Strawberryfield12 · 11/03/2015 08:16

I never got the pony hair promised during pregnancy, it stayed the same and now it seems the same as well. Apart from DD constantly pulling them. DH pulled out a long hair of mine out of her mouth the other day.
Body wise it's a disaster, I am back on old weight, but I just look kind of mumsy, floppy middle and odd shape bum. And I guess because of lack of uninterrupted sleep it seems like my face has aged, I actually look like somebody approaching her 40ties. Especially when I stand in front of the mirror with DD on my hands, the comparison of our faces does no good to my self confidence :)
But if seriously, I can start to see how I might age and look similar to my mum. Wow, I said it!

ladydolly · 11/03/2015 08:32

Try having a baby when you are approaching 40 strawberry!! Grin

In the first few weeks following dd's arrival I kept being told how young I looked and actually I could see it too, I was never really sleep deprived, had been off the booze and fags for a year and didn't have time for the full warpaint so I guess thats what it was.

I never got the thick glossy hair either although babydolly is constantly yanking it out now. Weirdly, while pg I had to shave my legs/underarms etc every other day when I was normally a once every 5 days kind of girl, now it's stopped growing!! I think I've done my bikini line and underarms 3 times since I had her, there's nothing there!! Thank you nature, I don't have time to do it anyway!

Strawberryfield12 · 11/03/2015 08:45

Hahaha lady I actually am in my very late 30 ties, just up to now I always felt and looked much younger, I never felt of any kind of age (thus the late pregnancy), but now I just feel bang on my biological age.
When after the birth I was told how great I looked, not at all like woman who just had had a baby, I was always wandering how a woman who had had a baby should have looked. Still a mystery, but I know very clear how woman who had not had whole night sleep for 3 months look. I suddenly have started to take interest in antiage products. Grin
I guess I should not moan because I had no sleep problems during pregnancy. Wonder how that must be feel to suffer from sleep problems for months while pregnant and than - bang -you have a baby and even less sleep?!

TheHedgehogSong · 11/03/2015 08:52

Well hello folks! Been away from the thread, reading to catch up now.

Getting my girl weighed today as she's growing out of her 6-9 month clothes. What are your babies wearing now, still sleep suits? I can't put her in tights or leggings as she is so round!

Strawberryfield12 · 11/03/2015 08:54

Last night DD fed at 1am and went to sleep, next feed at 4.30am, but when she started to make noises, I thought she has been making noises after 1am feed. Half sleep was trying to shut her with the dummy and only afterwards it downed on my that 3.5 hours have passed and she is due another feed. Blush

Strawberryfield12 · 11/03/2015 09:01

Wow hedgehog 6-9 months clothes! Your DD must be the feeding champion. I start to feel like having a tiny baby. She at the moment is between sizes, some things are 0-3 while others 3-6. I started to dress her in proper clothes during the day few weeks ago. But she is defo wearing sleepsuits when going to doctors and jabs. Easy access and quick dressing.

CazY777 · 11/03/2015 09:39

I'm now over 40 and feel every bit of my age! Mentally I feel younger (sitting here watching cbeebies) but physically I have more grey hairs and wrinkles and I'm so stiff! My hair isn't falling out it just feels much more coarse and needs washing a lot more. I'm back in my normal jeans but the fat seems to have pooled in my stomach area and flops down, its awful. My legs are more toned though from walking and carrying my heavy DD, and people keep telling me that my face is thinner but it's all just gone to my stomach. I'm trying to eat less chocolate which is bloody difficult. Because it was my birthday I had a box of chocs on the bedside table so reached for those at 4am when I was hungry and couldn't be bothered to get up.

Annarose2014 · 11/03/2015 09:47

Strawberry I know exactly what you mean about the comparison in the mirror. "aww, look at the ickle baba and his Mum......his ANCIENT LOOKING MUM!"

I'm 40 this week. Birthday is officially cancelled as Dad might get stressed about not being able to get me anything - my choice. He was always a big birthday person so I don't want him to realise. As it is the rest of my family and DH keep apologisng cos they haven't been able to go shopping etc. As if I give a flying fuck! Only too happy to let it slide by, tbh!

My skin is in good nick (no fags) but sweet jesus the dark circles. I look pretty young with undereye concealer but you know you're tired when you're too tired to spend 10 secs putting on concealer!

CazY777 · 11/03/2015 10:02

We went out for a meal the other day, my 16 year old step-daughter was carrying DD and I'm sure everyone though she was her mother and me and DH were the grandparents!

Annarose2014 · 11/03/2015 10:10

Oh God Caz my knees. I can barely get up from the floor with DS with my knees. The right one keeps threatening to lock too. I find myself making this "EEEUUUURRRGGGHH" noise. Attractive.

I wouldn't mind but I never did a damn thing to them! No cool sports injury to blame - just age!

Arkkorox · 11/03/2015 11:15

Oh god I make the 'urreeeggghhhhh' noise and I'm only 25!!

OP posts:
CazY777 · 11/03/2015 11:44

I make all sorts of noises these days when I get up from the floor Anna, the cot top changer is a godsend while she still can't roll over.

ladydolly · 11/03/2015 13:05

wow hedgehog what a champ! babydolly is still in 3-6 months, she seems to be getting skinnier, I think she's just evening out to a 'normal' weight after being so big at birth. And she's very active so she's burning it off. We moved to clothes from babygrows at 3 months, mainly because her whole wardrobe comes from her cousin and that's what we were given. Sleepsuits at night though.

Just been to see 'still alice', brilliant but I think I'm perhaps still too hormonal for something so moving.

Clap and sing taster this afternoon.
