Couldn't see another thread ladies! Crap title I know but I couldn't think of anything else!

Thisis how on earth did you manage to put the nappy in the wash!

Hugs to all this morning. Don't think I actually slept at all!

You know those nights where you're up so often that you're far too awake to go back to sleep in between? And then you're all keyed up awaiting the next call so you're on high alert? And then you get all stressed cos you're lying there and the time is ticking away and you're still not getting to sleep? Ugh.

And at 5.48 DS decided it was morning. We've already had our first nap.

ladydolly · 10/03/2015 08:27

Rubbish night here too, 5 wake ups including an hour of chat at 5.30. My head is so fuzzy. And now I can't get her off for her nap and we never have a problem with 1st nap of the day. She's chat moaning to herself for now.

She also seems to be using my nipples as teething rings while she's feeding, no idea how I can stop that.

This feels like newborn days, I'm knackered and sore and tearful :(

amy83firsttimer · 10/03/2015 08:48

We're going to move the cot to the side of our bed like a homemade co-sleeper. DH not thrilled about dismantling it but tough titties tbh.

ladydolly · 10/03/2015 09:09

amy a baby group friend did that and said it worked a treat, good luck!!

weeonion · 10/03/2015 09:13

Amy - we are also moving cot to side of bed with one side of rails off as our squidge has outgrown babynest. Heading to b&q for supplies now.

Annarose2014 · 10/03/2015 09:53

We're going to do that too when the time comes. I'll have to clamber over the bed to get in it as it'll only fit to the nearest inch but needs must. Thankfully still an inch or two of growth left in the Moses basket.

Wine for ladydolly this evening, I suggest.

happypotamus · 10/03/2015 10:23

I suspect we will also have to see if we can safely turn our cot into a co-sleeper sort of thing, as we gave up on the Moses basket ages ago. I want to get her out of the bed and into her cot at some point as there is not really going to be room for the 3 of us and I want her to go to bed before me at some point and I don't know how to make our bed safe for her to be in on her own once she can roll and move.
She woke u p every couple of hours last night and DD1 woke up once too (because the bed was 'getting smaller'). We also seem to randomly have some good nights (though our good nights are nowhere near as good as those of you who get whole nights of sleep ) and some rubbish nights.

catg83 · 10/03/2015 10:31

FIL just turned up on the doorstep at 9 am! He was working in the area and thought he would pop in. My inlaws live 2hrs away so it was a bit of a surprise. He coped very well with me in PJs and house in state. Don't think I did! DS was very excited to see his grandad though.

What a good idea turning cot into cosleeper. DS is just about OK in Snuzpod but is starting to wriggle up in the night and waking up with his head wedged at a funky angle.

Strawberryfield12 · 10/03/2015 12:12

Cosleeper is the best thing ever invented. DD is currently in the Chicco one and tbh its the best time of the day when she is in it. It is supposed to be till 6 months, but I doubt we will strech so far, she is already bashing it with legs when gets excited that it swings to all directions. Always thought baby would move to her own room once grown out of cosleeper, but now I have big doubts about it.

moggle · 10/03/2015 12:48

Bad night here too. Only awake once but for 3 hours. Just happy and chatting again. No idea what to do, everyone has different ideas. Don't really want to put her in her own room but we might all get more sleep that way. She did end up in the cot in the nursery last night at 6am after I threatened to throw her out the window. Joking obviously not joking

catg83 · 10/03/2015 13:02

moggle definitely didn't threaten to put DS on ebay at 4 this morning.

Arkkorox · 10/03/2015 13:07

I nearly threw DP out the window when he moaned about getting up so I could go back to bed. Not joking!

Ah that makes me feel better :-D she doesnt seem to want to go to sleep this afternoon. She probably would in the pram but I just don't have the energy for that. We're both going to be wrecks by the time DH gets home.

amy83firsttimer · 10/03/2015 14:35

Well infacol seems to be working so far. He's just started nap number 3! Admittedly I've let him nap on me but if it helps then it's happening. DH has sorted out the cot set up too. Let's hope it works well tonight.

Strawberryfield12 · 10/03/2015 14:39

DD usually wakes few times on a night, but makes no fuss, quickly goes back to sleep as soon as finished with feed. But tonight both times she woke up once I put in the cot after the feed and started to bash with legs and talk. Tried to shut her with the dummy Blush, but didn't work. Picking her up and feeding again did the trick though. She better not take this into habit or ebay will be considered!

Annarose2014 · 10/03/2015 14:55

Mine is already on nap no. 4.

At least two more to go before 7.

Do I have the nappiest baby? Is 6 naps a day excessive? Its certainly a right pain in the arse.

Arkkorox · 10/03/2015 15:27

No dd naps usually about 5/6 times a day.

I have no idea what I'm doing today. I just put DDs bottle in my mouth and tried to feed her my bottle of coke ( lid on!!!)

Is it bedtime yet?

OP posts:
ladydolly · 10/03/2015 15:34

Yeah we're 5/6 naps a day too, all short ones of course. I'm not one for rushing home to put her down though so kind of suits us both, she catnaps in the car/pub/on me if we're on the go.

Dh tried to sell her as an extra 'fixture and fitting' with the flat too. And he wasn't up with her every hour last night like I was!

moggle · 10/03/2015 16:08

DD usually has 3 or 4. She has no problem napping when in the buggy, car or at someone else's house, it's the napping at home she's finding a struggle. And I'm fed up of walking endlessly and paying for coffees and food just to get her to sleep every single day. Because she was so easy for the first couple of months I feel like I don't have any ideas about how to help her get to sleep.
She finally went to sleep in the pushchair but woke up after just half an hour. Wouldn't go back to sleep again so I'm feeding her again but I know she doesn't really need it and will just puke it on me afterwards. Have made DH come home from work early cos I just can't deal with her any longer today.

Strawberryfield12 · 10/03/2015 16:10

DD has had 2 naps up to now:

  1. short one 10.00-10.30
  2. Long one 12.00-14.00

No signs of 3rd nap coming any time soon, she is full of beans, giving hard time to the Freddie and shouting so loud I am worried I might get Social Services knocking at the door soon...

Strawberryfield12 · 10/03/2015 16:16

Ups, she just fell asleep now, I suppose this is going to be another quickie

Arkkorox · 10/03/2015 16:43

Dd has been asleep on my lap for nearly an hour and a half now!

OP posts:
catg83 · 10/03/2015 17:39

We usually get 2 decent naps of between 1 and 2 hours and then a couple of cat naps. I am currently typing this one handed rocking the swing seat as we have no batteries for it. As soon as it slows down he wakes up. I am going to swing till 6 and then give up. X

Greenstone · 10/03/2015 17:51

Question. How long does it take your babies to finish one boob?

ladydolly · 10/03/2015 18:08

Its hard to tell here greenstone because she comfort sucks. I reckon about 15-20 minutes if she's being efficient during the day?
