I am here!

I have been crazy busy over the last week with a special guest, a load of writing that needed doing asap and, of course, real life needed slotting in there somewhere.

Now I think I am getting a lurgey. But I am at the point where I feel like shit on wake up, perk up as breakfast enters my bloodstream then feel shit again in the evening. I am hoping an early night tonight might stave it off.

Can't work out phoenix even from the initials. I need a better clue. Could you tell me something you did that we would all know about? Or something.

I might go back to my old name I liked it.

ThePhoenixRising · 27/05/2015 13:06

I went to Paris a couple of weeks ago Grace

TheRealGracePoole · 27/05/2015 13:12

Elizadoesdolittle · 29/05/2015 22:50

Happy weekend all. I'm looking forward to a lie in. Or at least a quiet start to the day. Builders started at 7.40am this morning Shock

YellowWellies · 29/05/2015 22:55

Ok remember my boy who didn't crawl until 11 months and walk until 17months? My DD crawled at 7 months and is now pulling up to stand at 8 months and 2 fecking days!!!! Shock Shock Shock Shock Shock

BigPigLittlePig · 30/05/2015 09:02

Oh blimey yw, good luck! Had to smile at the mental image of her crawling off out the room, then having major wobble over loss of close at hand humans!

How's building work going, eliza? What's the likely duration of it all?

Had a lovely meal out with dh last night to celebrate getting my training job, one of the best meals I have ever had. Drank too much Wine though so feeling about 70% of my usual morning self, which isn't a great place to be!

SIL babysat both girls, massive favour for us at short notice. But. You will recall my recent MIL ramblings, well SIL is cut from the same cloth. As soon as we got in, she started moaning about dsd and how rude, immature, ignorant, disobedient etc she is.Not a nice thing to say about her. I tried to explain that she is only like that with them and ILs (yrs of them conditioning "bad" behaviours) and got the response "I work with children, and she is just rude and immature." Rapidly changed the subject before I blew my top. This morrning dsd is quiet and subdued, and when I asked if she had fun she burst into tears and said no, SIL kept shouting at her,and when dsd genuinely hurt herself falling out of bed, just got shouted at more. I am sick and Angry of the ILs and their negative impact on my children. I can't wait to cut ties. Nobody gets dsd, not even her own mum (and i don't say that lightly) - why can't they just be positive about her??

Sorry, rant over.

Elizadoesdolittle · 30/05/2015 10:03

ok so no lay in. builder's here beavering away by 8am. shouldn't complain. At least they're working. They've knocked down the garage, car port and conservatory and are now digging out the foundations. Should take around 12 wks in total. I'm going to have a wall of glass looking out onto the garden Grin Think its 8 bifolds in total with a small pillar in the middle.

bplp I'm so sorry about what your poor dsd is going through. You may remember I posted similar issues on fb about my DD1. I am pleased to say things are a lot better on my side now but it sounds like its gone too far with your sil and mil. The sooner they are cut off from you the better. poor poor dsd. give her a squeeze from me.

ThePhoenixRising · 31/05/2015 11:59

I got a lie in until 9.30 this morning Shock but the girls did have a late night.

piggy that is a horrible way for your SIL to treat your DSD. As you know in our house we cut ties with my ILs and when I remember how MIL shouted at DD1 that last evening, when she was not even 3, my blood still boils. Some people are so abusive without even realising it.

yw DD1 was 'late' at everything too and it was a big shock when DD2 was early/on time for everything. I wonder if younger siblings are motivated by their older siblings to just get on with it.

I am having an admin and laundry day here. Since I set up my company I am trying very hard to not do home stuff during working hours. Which means I have a lot to do at the weekends now, but it is far harder for me to procrastinate re work during the week now.

YellowWellies · 01/06/2015 23:18

I think Lil's decided he's not the best sharer so its every baby for themselves!

Pikz · 02/06/2015 21:14

WineWine

Elizadoesdolittle · 03/06/2015 14:38

I keep loosing you all.

Just been choosing kitchens. Very exciting. just got to work out what type sink I want. I hate stainless steel but my sister said her ceramic white one is a nightmare. And also whether I want wood or quartz worktops. I chose wood in the last house and loved it but had to be careful of water stains. Decisions decisions.

Pikz · 03/06/2015 16:39

Eliza it doesn't help at all but I have wood and ceramic and love both. Haven't found it too much of a hassle. Clean sink regularly and oiled worktops really well at beginning

Elizadoesdolittle · 03/06/2015 20:13

no that does help pikz thanks.

TheRealGracePoole · 06/06/2015 08:25

eliza prob too late now, I have a composite granite sink which is black and love it because it dissapears into the black granite worktop and is super easily to keep clean.

Granite work tops too easy to keep smart.

Elizadoesdolittle · 07/06/2015 22:32

grace not too late. still need to make final decisions. I liked corian for the fact that I could have the sink made out of it to get that streamless look. But corian is very expensive. I didn't know you could do that with granite so I'll investigate. Thanks!

Have had a lovely weekend. Been a mixture of catching up with friends both with and without the kids. Drinking cocktails on the southbank whilst the sun set was just what I needed after a tricky week.

Pikz · 08/06/2015 15:53

Eliza we definitely all need more gin!

TheRealGracePoole · 16/06/2015 18:37

boo.

Elizadoesdolittle · 19/06/2015 17:16
