Evening everyone :)

LOL E doesn't seem fussed on frozen, he's currently massively obsessed with the Gruffalo - there was a short film type thing on over christmas and he loves it, really loves it :) He knows all the bits about the gruffa-gruffa (no idea why he calls it this) and his favourite bit is turned out toes, he said.

Pass beauty and the beast is one of my favourites :)

hiii gt - sorry for being daft, what is RSI ?

ooooh pikz how did it go?

love the snowman lily

LOL brilliant Eliza i bet you look fabulous!

Hope your first day back went well izzy? Sorry if you updated on facebook and i've missed it Blush

stunt I would've been grossed out by the not cooked pork chop :/ and it doesn't sound particularly filling, either :S

GwenaelleLaGourmande · 11/02/2015 20:55

Eww stunt I think you should have a junk food binge to make up for that.

Or a cheese platter binge.
Ooh. Cheese.

I think RSI is repetitive strain injury kyz

YellowWellies · 11/02/2015 23:01

As someone back on the dairy free bandwagon I agree with GG its always time for cheese. Stunt that sounds a very thoughtless meal to present to your other half - more so when she's pregnant. MrStunt needs to up his game! Envy

Passmethecrisps · 12/02/2015 08:58

That is a very unappetising sounding dinner stunt. I would actually be huffing. Did he eat it?

P is not into frozen either kyz. We don't own it.

Cm is taking p to the cinema today! They are off to see the new Annie - she is of stout heart!

I am now officially on holiday rather than being signed off - I have discovered that I am not a brilliant patient. I have spent portions of the last week angsting and interfering by email. I am going to relax today though.

OP posts:
TheRealGracePoole · 12/02/2015 09:14

I hope so pass I want to see lots of you here today as you have nothing better to do.

We don't do frozen either unfortunately. dS1 did go and see Paddington at the weekend and really enjoyed it. I wonder about taking the girls to see Annie this week, could be an idea.

I am having a juice detox day today. Just because I binged on M&S last night and this weekend won't be all healthy either.

GwenaelleLaGourmande · 12/02/2015 09:23

Are you feeling any better Pass ? I used to be a crap patient too - Even on my first maternity leave I worked from home and from hospital. And worked from home when I buggered up my back - that was six long weeks off.

Funnily enough I didn't bother so much the last time I was signed off...

DD1 has just taken her puffery spacer thing. Whoop. OK she moved away when she heard the puff but big progress on the hiding first in the dog crate then second in a kitchen cupboard then third locking herself in the garage attitude that we had last night.

Elizadoesdolittle · 12/02/2015 09:44

DD's are big on beauty and the beast too. And tangled. Those and Frozen are the big disney hits here.

kyz E loves that gruffalo programme too and there was also a room on the broom one too which she loves.

She doesn't watch tv all day, honest!

Off to do battle with clarks. DD1'S strap on her school shoe broke and she has only had them 5 weeks. Her first pair lasted a term only. Won't be buying school shoes from there again.

Passmethecrisps · 12/02/2015 09:44

Great progress with the spacer! She does show excellent ingenuity in her avoidance strategies however.

Aging pussy was sick on the sofa again so i am using the lack of cushion covers on the sofa as an excuse for being on the bed lounging.

I am feeling very, very much better, thanks. I now have just a standard issue snotty nose but I feel so much better. After all my advice on the eczema thread I ended up not buying anything and not treating them with anything and it has cleared almost completely. Quite amazing actually but a clear indication that I really, really needed to be off. Yesterday was the first day I actually felt I could be at work at all so I am glad I did take the time.

I actually do have marking to do which I will inevitably leave now until Sunday night and do it a strop. I hate marking. I could do it now but I won't.

OP posts:
Passmethecrisps · 12/02/2015 09:49

I have not heard good things about Clarks in recent years. Over priced and poor quality. Shame as they used to be the gold standard school shoe!

My overuse of the word actually above reminds me of a conversation at dinner time the other day.

Me: p, do you like your dinner?
P: yas it yummy
Me: good. That is a chicken Kiev
P: Kiev. No. That tuna actually
Me: no, it's not tuna. It is chicken.
P: no. It actually tuna. Tuna. . . Actually

TheRealGracePoole · 12/02/2015 11:20

Clarks have gone a bit shit. I like startright.

Zamboni · 12/02/2015 11:33

Found you! Which is currently S's favourite game. At nursery he spends a significant chunk of the day "hiding" his dummies and then triumpantly finding them and shouting found you until someone praises his seeker skills Smile

Glad you are feeling better pass. Boo to rubbish meals Stunt. Howdy everyone else.

Mmmm, cheese. Junk food. Mmmmm. Currently low carbing on a very boring and repetitive menu, apart from once a week where I can have whatever I want. I spend a LOT of time planning that meal Grin

Frozen obsession here too. S has Frozen onesie PJs and he calls it "my Frozen with Ben" (Sven). I think we also own every piece of Frozen merchandising ever made thanks to Christmas and DD's birthday recently. They also like some of the retro stuff - Snow White is a bit favourite of DD's and they like Tangled and B&TB too. The Lion King makes DD very upset about what happens to the Lion's daddy, but things were mummies are bad/transformed into bears bothers her not a jot Hmm

Elizadoesdolittle · 12/02/2015 14:37

Well I give them their dues, they exchanged the shoes without any quibbles at all. Was impressed as I didn't have my receipt and couldn't be arsed to dig out my credit card statement. See how long these ones last. I'll keep the receipt!

pass I have quite a few teacher friends and they all moan about marking. I can imagine it's very tedious.

E just looked at my phone and said "blue one sad" and wants to know why. Sad Haha.

Passmethecrisps · 12/02/2015 15:02

Poor sad blue face Sad. P insists that lots of things are sad. "Look, mummy. Dat tree sad" and she does a big glum face and hangs her head in sympathy for thee poor sad tree or gate or street light.

Good news about the shoes as well. I so rarely keep receipts as I hate all the scrappy bits of paper kicking about my house. Hopefully this pair last longer.

In fairness I rarely get marking due to the level of other duties I have but I still loathe it. I used to get so excited about it - all ticking and crossing and "use more detail!" In the margin.

I knew DH was a keeper long before we actually got together when he presented me with a Christmas gift of a massive box of red bic pens. I don't actually use red but I kept the whole box for a vey long time

Tonight's excuses for not taking the antibiotics: my hair is moving, there is a pencil on the floor, need to tidy toys away, they're not working I am still coughing, my leg hurts... Only spat out a small amount. Fecking 'ell she's strong. Feeling a bit battered and bruised from the palaver. One more dose tomorrow then will concentrate on the spacer.

BigPigLittlePig · 12/02/2015 18:51

Well done GG. Got to admire dd1s, erm, fortitude? You can be sure she won't be a pushover in years to come though Wink

Nice work on shoe swapping, Eliza. We just bought dsd a new pair of school shoes, ones that she picked (ie not quite so sensible as we would have opted for) on the strict promise that she was going to wear them properly - she had similar before and didn't put them on right and they broke so quickly. We shall see...I threatened her with boring lace up ones next time Grin

Thought F was on the mend, so I sent her off to nursery this afternoon, but picked up a half asleep feverish crosspatch who was enjoying snuggles with her key worker. Lots of worried onlookers as she is normally quite a character. She's been in bed since 5,30 after cries of "my tiiiiired mummy" - with more respectable bed companions of bear and blankie, after last nights ball/china panda accessories Hmm

GwenaelleLaGourmande · 12/02/2015 19:57

Yup. Am not raising pushovers.

Just trying to decide now if the spectacular vomfest is due to the antibiotics, the spacer, the fruit she ate earlier, or a bug. Unlikely to be a bug.

Elizadoesdolittle · 12/02/2015 21:58

Nobody likes a pushover gg Smile

Had A weighed today. Another positive weight gain. Grin

yw When you're dairy free do you just have tea and coffee black? I'm still considering going dairy free and since E has been dairy free the dairy in my diet has dropped dramatically but the thought of going without tea or coffee starts me hyperventilating.

YellowWellies · 13/02/2015 04:02

Eliza I have koko or almond milk in coffee its lovely - nicer than cow's milk. I've ditched tea (sob am an utter tea junky) but none of the fake milks taste good in tea without sugar Sad .

StuntNun · 13/02/2015 06:41

Eliza I have butter and coconut oil in coffee, you have to blend it but it becomes a coconutty latte.

StuntNun · 13/02/2015 07:18

Sorry Eliza I just realised that wasn't very helpful! When I was still bfing J, I found that he could tolerate a small amount of dairy in my diet so I kept having butter as it is only about 3% protein.

TheRealGracePoole · 13/02/2015 08:14

The almond milk sounds yum,I have been using almond milk to do porridge and it is delicious. I will try in coffee.

Congrats on the weight gain eliza well done mummy you have done such a great job with her, Thanks I know it has been tough at times but you are really coming out the other side. Xx

my marking anecdote, well school reports actually. My mum was handwriting a load of school reports, back in the day, and she had them spread out over the breakfast room table. In the absence of any supervison I decided to have a lovely warm, deep, bath. Which found it's way over the side and through the floor boards. Mum heard the tell tale drip drip drip. Splat. Onto the school reports. Hence a lot of people got very smudged crinkly reports that year. [

Today DH is in the warmer climes of Spain, while I , funnily enough, toil away with the boys in the rain. He is doing this whole trip in a day so will arrive home in the early hours of the morning. I have bought myself a big steak and a bottle of wine for this evening. Then tomorrow me and ds1 will be off to see the girls Grin. Yippeeee.

Passmethecrisps · 13/02/2015 09:15

Weirdly when I was pregnant i started wanting milk in tea despite being a black coffee and tea girl. I hate the texture of milk in tea without sugar. Not sure why but it feels different.

I also remember having two cups of normal tea a day. That was my caffeine intake and I liked it. Colleague one day was trying to be helpful and offer the caffeine free tea - didn't go down well.

OP posts:
Passmethecrisps · 13/02/2015 09:49

Have a wonderful time with your girls grace!

I stopped hiding from the issue this morning and stepped on the scales. Not actually quite as bad as I had reckoned but still not good. The healthy eating regime starts Monday today!

OP posts:
Passmethecrisps · 13/02/2015 09:58

But! I have eye make up on today! Sounds daft but I am a mascara and eyeliner girl and the eczema attack totally prevented that or contact lens wearing. I haven't felt like myself in weeks. I am off to flutter my eyelashes at all and sundry!

OP posts:
Elizadoesdolittle · 13/02/2015 11:26

E has koko milk so will make myself a coffee with that and see how it goes. I don't drink coffee at home. But when out a love a milky latte. I'm a tea fiend too. Boo hoo. I had a cup with oatmilk once when we ran out of normal milk. It was gross.

grace have a fab weekend xx
