I love pre mive sorting. It is completing finishing I always struggle with!

TheRealGracePoole · 12/04/2015 09:08

That must have been busy to say the least pikz.

Elizadoesdolittle · 12/04/2015 16:18

Had a family trip to the hairdressers yesterday. Me, DD1 and E all had our hair done. It was E's first cut and she's got a bob. So cute.

Had a girls night out last night. Went for thai. Was lovely.

Today went to a little farm nr us for lambing day. Such diddly little lambs.

Has been a lovely weekend. Back to school tomorrow. Only for a day though as the girls are being bridesmaids at a wedding on Tuesday.

TheRealGracePoole · 12/04/2015 18:18

Sounds great Eliza, I love bobs on little girls.

We had a famt photo session today. A bit mad. But she usually does a good job.

Then, this afternoon. I had to laugh. I dropped a text to xh to check what time worked to call the girls. He said they were ALL ( yes emphasised in caps) out on bikes and they would call me later. Well. About 15 mins later a couple of emails popped up from DD2. Then about 5 mins after that he texted to say they were back and they would call shortly. They had been on Their bikes today but for not one minute do I believe they were out when I first texted. Just like he never ever answers the phone the first time I call which is why I now text to arrange a time.

Thing is I just now find it mildly amusing.

Passmethecrisps · 12/04/2015 19:25

Daft game playing grace. Just do wearisome. I am glad you can now laugh it off.

That cut sounds adorable eliza! I was getting mine done on Friday and there was a little girl of maybe 18mo getting hers done. I reckon p cohld wait another year before she actually needs hers done. It looks a bit wild but is fine so is ok really. Can we see a pic of the new do?

I need some advice from quiche ladies I reckon. I will post on FB later as well I think. How do you all manage to get anything done with toddlers around? I desperately need to get things sorted and the house is a total tip but today I have achieved nothing. P seems to need constant attention from me. Today I have glittered, painted, stuck stickers, done egg and spoon racing, observed bouncing, cooked pancakes, been the customer in the world's worst shop (has almost no stock and all items are £40) play doh'd and tried desperately to get some sorting done. Every inch I clear gets re-covered by glitter covered cards, tower bricks or very tiny cups of tea.

How do I get her to play alone for more than five minutes??

E's hair is so thin and fine. she never let's me give it a good brush either so I thought a bob was the way forward. I'll get a photo of the back of her head and pop it on fb.

I actually manage to get things done with E around, within reason. It's DS that hinders me now. when DD1 is around they keep each other entertained. E is also very good at just pottering around. or I set her up at the table with playdoh or her sisters playmobil which she loves. or failing that if I really need her out of my way, a disney film never fails to keep her busy. I remember DD1 needing constant attention. Don't know what I used to do when I needed to get things done. Call on the in laws for help I expect!

Passmethecrisps · 12/04/2015 20:52

Hmm. Everything I set up for p requires me to be there. If I walk away she yells and shouts for me to come back. I struggle to get more than a minute to do anything. I can get her to 'help' but she gets bored understandably and then she gets naughty.

I have a hoarder husband and a house which is packed to the rafters. How on earth am I going to get us packed up?

GwenaelleLaGourmande · 12/04/2015 21:16

Sympathy pass I find it v hard to get anything done when the girls are around. I tend to just make more time for everything, plan well ahead and grab a minute here and there.

That said am in the UK and forgot a good 20 items from my lists including the potty, loo seat and dog's bowls.

grace I love the zen attitude you have re your ex. Not joining in the game playing is fab but it must be tempting sometimes.

Elizadoesdolittle · 12/04/2015 21:47

pass get packers in. It's not really that expensive and was so worth it. It made our move a lot less stress free. I know there's still sorting to do prior to the move though. In order to get things done round the house that can't have the kids here (diy) DH has been taking them out in the morning and for lunch whilst I decorate and then I'll have them for the afternoon whilst he decorates. That's worked quite well. You make slow progress though!

How's your trip going gg forgotten items aside.

GwenaelleLaGourmande · 12/04/2015 21:51

Yy packers good idea.

Ok thanks eliza we arrived yesterday lunchtime at my mum's and have lots of fun stuff planned. Hoping to meet up with a quichester or two, though I always mean to and then family gets in the way each time. Fingers crossed this time I manage it.

YellowWellies · 12/04/2015 22:07

Pass I think inclination to play independently is very personality driven and not really something you can teach. My lovely nephew is just crap at playing by himself - he's too social to enjoy it. Jonas is actually very good and will take himself off for half an hour to 'read', pop bubble wrap, play in his kitchen, potter with the dog but its something he's always liked he clearly needs a break from me!. Get packers. Best investment ever when moving with a small.

Passmethecrisps · 12/04/2015 22:19

Thanks everyone. Having done our most recent accounts packers are not an option. It will just need to be little every night until the house looks like a box city.

Sometimes she is ok but sadly at the moment she is especially clingy with me. DH struggles to engage with the games as much so she gets bored of him fairly quickly

YellowWellies · 12/04/2015 22:29

Hmmm extra time with the CM, a day out with Daddy, or maybe a stay with the GPs? You really need a decent stretch of time to break the back of it. You have my sympathy - I HATE moving Sad

Passmethecrisps · 12/04/2015 22:40

Cm has offered to take her on the Saturday when we have our first full day. We actually move on the friday when she is at nursery all day. I will get Friday off work as will DH.

It will be fine I am sure. I am just so desperate to avoid taking shit with us that we don't want or need. DH reallt struggles with chucking stuff out. He tells me he has decluttered his drawers completely yet they still can't be opened. The bag he was insistent was going to charity a month ago is now for washing and repairing. And the attic . . .

Evening all :)

gosh grace that does sound hard work :( your xh sounds like... well.... some norty words... bless him and his silly little games!

I'm good thankyou eliza, I'm 33+4 today so getting there! Still lots of things to sort out and I don't feel nearly ready but we're slowly gathering bits/finding bits out of the loft and whatnot! I have my whooping cough jab tomorrow and MIL has E on tuesdays, so we can get bits done. Tomorrow I'll be sorting his room out to be extra safe I think now he's decided he wants to sleep in a bed, plus I have the plastering I did last tuesday to sand down and paint. The list is mahoosive but I'm working my way through it :)

bet you were busy pikz!

bless her eliza bet she looks lovely! hope you have a nice day at the wedding tomorrow

oh pass your DH sounds like my DP.... Everything is worth keeping, it seems!

Elizadoesdolittle · 14/04/2015 22:41

Wow kyz. you're very busy. Make sure you don't over do it Smile

Glorious day for a wedding. The reception was at a beachfront villa so the kids had a great time playing on the beach. They performed their bridesmaids duties with perfection and looked adorable if I do say so myself. I'll pop a photo on fb when I've downloaded them. Don't have any on my phone.

Elizadoesdolittle · 16/04/2015 18:02

So today E did what DD1 did to me about 3 years a go and slammed the front behind me locking me out and her and DS in!. I had no keys, no phone. I was putting the double buggy up (it's a pain to get it through the porch door so I put it up outside). I was about to do school run. Shock Thank goodness for my neighbours phone, internet and my in laws.

BigPigLittlePig · 16/04/2015 20:06

Oh crikey Eliza! What a nightmare!

Had job interview this morning, lord only knows how it went Confused

Spent this afternoon at the common with F - we had a picnic, paddled in the stream, threw the ball for L-dog (lots), spotted heaps of animals. All good, v enjoyable. Only mini disaster was when F legged it whilst my back was turned, and made it to the main road. I pooped myself. Anyhoo.

Am now slobbed on the sofa Grin

Kyz · 16/04/2015 20:06

I'll try not to overdo it :) I do keep taking breaks and whatnot :) Just feel a bit swamped with things to do! Glad you had a lovely day at the wedding, will keep an eye out for the pictures :) oh my word eliza I hope E never does that to me, i'd be all panic stricken - though actually I remember a younger sibling doing it before now, i'm sure. I vaguely remember wriggling through a downstairs window to get in to open the door!

Oh wow Eliza, scary stuff.

In London for work. Big hotel bed, iPad loaded with things I want to watch instead of fireman Sam, little glass of Wine and some nibbles. Perfect right? Except I forgot the iPad charger. Still, my overall care factor is reasonably low as I had some fizz at lunchtime (then did a presentation, hic) and I have freeview and a big deep bath with oodles of hot water I won't have to pay for Smile

Pikz · 16/04/2015 21:12

Zamboni sounds lovely!

Eliza how scary! L has done it to me luckily the back door was open!

Well done pennie

Take it easy kyz

Had a bit of a potty training relapse on Monday but back on the up now!

Elizadoesdolittle · 16/04/2015 22:19

zamboni sounds just what I need!

Funnily as DD1 did the same to me at that age I was perhaps calmer than I would have been. My neighbour was great and helped me think clearly. It did make me realise though just how useless I am without a phone. I don't know anyone's no. Short of tattooing them to me momento stylee I don't know how to get round that!

The one thing that did make me giggle was E found some paints and decided to paint her dads work shoes white. She kept looking at me through the window with this look saying "hell yeah you can't stop me now". What a tinker!

Lily311 · 17/04/2015 11:21

Zamboni, enjoy it!

Eliza, oh dear. that's one of my biggest nightmare. My brother has my spare key as well as my parents and thankfully both him and my mum have had the same mobile number for over 18 years now so I know it, anything should happen :).

What is everyone's plan for the weekend?
O is going to my parents for a sleepover tonight and I have a long awaited catch up with a couple of friends in a pub, can't wait. Tomorrow we are invited for lunch to my sister's and we will probably just go to the park/playground on Sunday.

Elizadoesdolittle · 17/04/2015 20:44

All my babies are in bed. First time I have put DS up in bed before I go. DH out. I have a hot cup of tea, a creme egg and the remote control to myself. I have waited for moments like this for months but now I feel like something is missing Confused I think I'll run a hot bath. That's bound to get DS stirring.

Quiet weekend coming up. DH out all day and night so mum is coming over to have E and DS whilst I take DD1 swimming. Will pick up fish and chips for tea. Then Sunday I have a park playdate with friends.

Still feels weird writing DS after 2 DD's!
