Just so we all feel at home

Yes YW J is mostly sleeping through. He does wake us up but it's usually because he's scared, he isn't waking in pain. It's really only the dodgy nappies at the moment so I'm hoping the probiotics and the breastmilk might help with that.

YellowWellies · 01/04/2015 18:02

Eliza non IgE is usually stomach responses - reflux, diarrhoea, colitis, FTT, colic, occasionally some eczema. IgE allergic reactions are quicker (with 2 hours of eating) and are characterised by contact rashes, swelling, asthma and in rare cases anaphylaxis. Non IgE do not show up on skin patch or blood tests - the only way to diagnose is to eliminate and then reintroduce.

StuntNun · 01/04/2015 18:06

By that description YW then J is IgE to egg but non-IgE to dairy.

Pikz · 01/04/2015 18:29

Thank fuck the last 3 days at work are over. On my way home for 5 days off! Grin

Zamboni · 01/04/2015 19:25

Wine O'clock then Pikz?!?!

Pikz · 01/04/2015 20:29

I wish Zamboni but I am stupidly doing the dukan diet again and am being stubborn as already shifted 5lb. Only another 8lb to go til wine again :(

Elizadoesdolittle · 01/04/2015 22:17

Thanks yw. E is non IgE then.

Cinderella was very good. I probably enjoyed it more than DD1 but apart from a lot of questions, a bit of fidgeting and a toilet break she was very good. I love Cate Blanchette too and Helena Bonham-Carter made a great fairy god mother. I wish she had been in it more but it sticks true to the story. Disney store is already full of Cinderella merchandise and new frozen stuff to accompany the silly frozen short they show before Angry

StuntNun · 01/04/2015 22:28

I don't think I could handle Dukan Pikz. Do you have to eat loads of protein.

Pikz · 01/04/2015 22:29

Yep tons of the stuff stunt. It works for me as I'm a carb and sugar lover and it makes me reset my ways

StuntNun · 02/04/2015 14:19

What do you eat Pikz? Is it all lean meat or do you use a protein powder? Do you have to keep to certain macros of carbs, protein and fat?

Pikz · 02/04/2015 20:07

So depending on what you want to lose you do 3-5 days of pure protein, non fat dairy and eggs. All protein should be lean.

Then you add in all salad and veg (except potatoes) and do alternate days of the pure protein and then a protein veg day until you get to goal weight. Then you go on to maintenance and add back in fruit and carbs but in very small quantities so you think differently about what you put on your plate.

StuntNun · 02/04/2015 20:35

That sounds really tough Pikz, I think I'll stick with my more laissez-faire approach which involves rather more chocolate than you describe! Blush

YellowWellies · 02/04/2015 20:36

Pikz could you do that BF do you reckon? I'm thinking Slimming World might be best for nursing and cooking family friendly meals. I've not got time to cook different meals for everyone.

StuntNun · 02/04/2015 22:41

Dukan doesn't sound great for bf because it seems too low in vitamins and minerals. On the all protein days you won't be taking in any vitamins at all as you get most of your vitamins from vegetables, fruits and fats. Then the high quantity of oat bran means the phthalates will reduce your absorption of vitamins and minerals. I'm assuming you have to take a multivitamin when you are in the diet phases.

TheRealGracePoole · 03/04/2015 08:27

Hello. Sad

TheRealGracePoole · 03/04/2015 08:28

Girls have gone home.

I am really struggling.

TheRealGracePoole · 03/04/2015 08:35

This week I have mastered....

Letting kids argue it out between themselves to reach a conclusion.

Letting pre teens huff off on their own and not following until 20 mins later when I need to take something upstairs and they have realised they were being silly.

Making healthy homemade meals that EVERYONE EATS and enjoys

Not touching any laundry and just dumping it in the utility....

......and just being uber peaceful and chil?ed 99.99999999% of the time.

This week I am feeling smug because all my children love each other immensely.

Now I need to crank the washing machine back into action and maybe get the iron out. Poor old O and DS1 get double the cuddles.

BigPigLittlePig · 03/04/2015 08:38

Oh big hugs Grace Sad Sad Sad
Your photos looked wonderful as ever, when will you next see them?

TheRealGracePoole · 03/04/2015 09:06

Not till the summer hols. This is my long stretch, though I will try to get over for a weekend in between. Their dad always has them Whitsun half term and I have them all the other holidays.

GwenaelleLaGourmande · 03/04/2015 09:18

Big hugs soph I am glad you had a good week with your gorgeous girls xxx

StuntNun · 03/04/2015 10:27

Grace at the moment I'm sure you're just mum and the girls take you for granted but as they get older they will realise just how much you do to make their visits wonderful. You are a fabulous mum doing the best you can for them and that is the greatest gift you can give them: happy carefree childhood days for them to remember.

Pikz · 03/04/2015 12:45

Oh grace the pictures were wonderful. Huge huge hugs.

YW the book says for feeding and pregnancy you can only do the low fat low carb bit for exactly the reasons stunt says. Slimming world is good I struggle with the substitute fats and sugars in it so once I've lost my stone I'm just going to stick to the low carb and low sugar content diet

Zamboni · 03/04/2015 13:08

Big hugs Grace Thanks

Passmethecrisps · 03/04/2015 20:08

Big hugs grace. It must be so hard. You are a wonderful mum and you have made a wonderful family. Xx
