Hello all.

P has been fine overnight but settling her to sleep has been hard the last maybe week two weeks. Lots of "but why?" And "what about meeeeeeeeeee??" And "mummy daddy I can't seeeeee yoooooooo" For ages after she should have settled. We have had to go right back to me standing at a slightly ajar door singing endlessly and even when that settles her enough for me to walk away she can be awake for literally hours.

She is totally knackered as a result which tonight meant she refused to eat anything at all and has gone to bed on a totally empty tummy. The weather is wild but she seemed to be sound immediately tonight. Could be teeth but I actually suspect she is having a developmental leap. Her speech has come on again and she is forming quite complex sentences so I think this is it.

That's a shame YW. We definitely have to be careful with the dairy. He's okay with a yoghurt every other day or so, or some pizza and we've put the other boys' biscuits in the same tin as J's bourbons so he gets some cross contamination. Butter sets him off for some reason and cheesy Wotsits the other day resulted in him having a bad night. I've started him on probiotics again to try and sort out the persistent diarrhoea. He's showing signs of readiness for toilet training but there's no way he could manage the way his guts are right now.

Elizadoesdolittle · 09/03/2015 22:15

That sucks yw.

Passmethecrisps · 09/03/2015 23:07

I would absolutely love it if there was a day when all the little quichesters could share one massive cake - full of flippin cream!

It is so hard thinking of them still suffering for eating Sad

YellowWellies · 09/03/2015 23:07

Ahhhh its much better than he used to be. We only had two disturbed nights but he was able to tell us what hurt so that was much easier. I reckon it'll be a few more dairy trials but in a year or two I reckon he'll get there. I was actually v chuffed he got as far as he did - this from a boy who could detect lactose in a stock cube through my breast milk.

Am reading a really interesting book by the lead paediatric allergist from Great Ormond Street (www.amazon.co.uk/The-Allergy-Free-Baby-Toddler-Book/dp/0091954878) which has helped me chill out about reintroduction and appreciate the long game. His nappies went to cow pats (as you say Stunt I couldn't begin to toilet train him with dairy poos) and he stopped eating because of an inflamed oesophagus. I'd rather he ate everything but dairy rather than on dairy and refusing to eat.

Passmethecrisps · 10/03/2015 20:03

Evening all.

Sodding shitting illness.

P has been poorly all day with an awful temperature and up until 3pm today had eaten nothing at all for about 27 hours. I thought she was better all skipping and dancing around when DH came home then she faded again. Her temp hit 40.6 during the day and was 39.6 at bedtime poor soul.

The good news is we have had an offer on our house!!!

OP posts:
Pikz · 10/03/2015 21:06

Fab news on the offer pass

Boo to poorly P Hmm and to those having bad nights

Am about to watch obem. Not sure it does the fragile nature of my emotions much good right now but hey ho!

Zamboni · 10/03/2015 21:26

Good news on the house Pass, not so good on all the illness Thanks

Pikz sometimes i am drawn to something I know will upset me a great deal, perhaps to give an outlet where it is needed. Thanks For you too.

I have fallen off the wagon and need to get back on. Nothing as dangerous as self-sabotage AngrySad

Pikz · 10/03/2015 21:36

Zamboni I think you are right. Gives me the reason to cry I've been looking for Smile

Now Mrs Zamboni back on that wagon... What can we do to support you?

Zamboni · 10/03/2015 21:40

Thanks Pikz - I just need to extract my head from the sand and woman up. Smile

GwenaelleLaGourmande · 11/03/2015 17:30

Tiny whine here: I have cricked my neck and can't take anything for it. The pain is radiating out into my head and it hurts. Paracetamol is doing nothing Heat is doing nothing. Nothing is doing anything.

OTOH have handed in my assignments and am just waiting to hear if I have passed enough to get to the last stage. The last stage is a skype oral exam. Eek.

Pikz · 11/03/2015 17:55

Eeeeeek eeeeek GG good luck

For crick necks I find stretching is the only thing that works

How's that woman up going Zamboni?

Kyz · 11/03/2015 20:11

Evening all :) hope you'e all ok :)

Hey and welcome wizard

pennie hope you're both feeling better now!

good luck gg! Hope the neck pain goes soon :( sounds nasty! :(

Elizadoesdolittle · 11/03/2015 20:19

I'm going to check out that book yw. Looks interesting.

pass woop on house.

zamboni and pikz Thanks

I have my fingers crossed for you gg but I bet you've aced it.

I bloody ache all over. I have to get this hernia sorted and i'm constantly carrying something whether it's a child or lifting pushchair or car seat. And I've arranged for the in laws to have the kids on sunday afternoon so me and DH can do some decorating. Happy mothers day to me! Can't believe that day has come around again. It's my least favourite day of the year I think!

GwenaelleLaGourmande · 13/03/2015 17:31

Quiet here nowadays

TheRealGracePoole · 13/03/2015 19:26

Brilliant news on the house pass

Elizadoesdolittle · 13/03/2015 20:09

Very gg. I keep checking the thread and i'm the last person that posted.

Passmethecrisps · 13/03/2015 20:13

Hallo!

It is terribly quiet.

We are very chuffed about the house sale. For the formal offer today.

P also seems to be on the mend after a very tough few days of illness where her temp teached 40.8 at points. She was wild at bedtime tonight and R was lovely to see actually. She also ate about half Her dinner which is fab as she has eaten little more than a mouthful for 5 days. She has clearly lost weight poor wee soul.

We have a house viewing tomorrow then nothing else planned - what about everyone else

OP posts:
Pikz · 13/03/2015 20:34

Very quiet! Fab news on house pass.

Tomorrow L has football and the. Off to Wellington country park with its miniature railway, tractors, farm, dinosaurs, slides, diggers and fairy house. So looking forward to the fresh air

BigPigLittlePig · 13/03/2015 20:34

I too have been checking and refreshing, but haven't had the energy to post. Dh dropped Fs omeprazole dose further over the weekend whilst I was working, and we have had a tough week. Am persevering as she has also had a temp at times (though nothing like poor P, Pass - how scary) so may get better. But am not up for many more 5.30 starts Confused

If it is dry tomorrow, and in fact, probably if it's wet too, we will be power washing the patio. It's so slippy that even the cat skidded over on it his morning!

Just watching comic relief stuff with a hot water bottle and the last of my Christmas chocolates. Early night tonight. Rock, and, rolllll.

GwenaelleLaGourmande · 13/03/2015 22:41

Grin at slippy piggy cat

pass i hope p feels better soon. V gd about house sale.

Enjoy fresh air pikz

Passmethecrisps · 13/03/2015 23:14

Fresh air is wonderful!

Here's a question . . . What would you all have done regarding a temp of the heights of 40.8? A colleague might have suggested that they thought I was being neglectful by not taking her to hospital.

OP posts:
YellowWellies · 13/03/2015 23:23

I would have called OOH but then we can see the Victoria hospital from our garden so probably go when others wouldn't!

TheDetective · 13/03/2015 23:41

I wouldn't take a child to hospital with that temp unless other concerns. :) I'd calpol and do cooling measures.

See how it goes, does it come down. GP appt if temp not resolving...

A&E if other symptoms suggestive of something serious.

Pikz · 14/03/2015 07:23

Pass does it make you feel better that I don't own a thermometer and never have done so I wouldn't know it's 40.8 Blush

I do know when he's got a temp by feeling him and would only take him if I felt it wasn't reacting to anything
