As a paranoid medical mummy I would probably have called gp or ooh...but it does come down to how they are in themselves and really, you are the best judge of that. Also F doesn't really do temperatures so for her 40+ would be Shock

Passmethecrisps · 14/03/2015 09:32

Thanks ladies. Our experience of OOH was very poor before so wanted to avoid it. She is 100% better today it would seem though so all over.

Not having a thermometer might be a better idea pikz! The doc has commented on how good p is with gettingn her temp taken and I had to say that she was very practiced Blush

Hello det!!

I wouldn't have taken her in unless it wouldn't go down at all, or if there were other symptoms ie rash, febrile convulsions, obvious pain etc.

It is possible she has had a touch of flu - toddlers don't seem to get as ill with proper flu as we do (unless complications)

Elizadoesdolittle · 14/03/2015 11:07

I wouldn't have taken her in either. E had a temp last night. not sure how high as I didn't take it. I calpoled her. She was then sick in the night but only her milk. I think it was just her reflux flairing due to being ill. prob has a mild touch of the flu.

DD1 off to a party today then swimming. Was going to pop into my sisters whilst DD1 was at the party but I think I had better bring E home.

BigPigLittlePig · 14/03/2015 11:55

Have just cut the jungle lawn and have left dh power washing the patio. Better night from F - and a lie in! - but she's so overtired that we are now cuddled up. Lovely.

StuntNun · 14/03/2015 21:06

I have started a WWYD thread if anyone wants to join in commenting on my plight.

GwenaelleLaGourmande · 15/03/2015 06:50

Happy mother's day quiche. Not mother's day here though.

Zamboni · 15/03/2015 19:03

Happy Mother's Day quiche Thanks

We have had a fab weekend. Took the Fireman Sam obsessed DC to the fire station charity car wash and as it was quiet they were allowed to see 2 engines and the 4x4. They were in heaven. Windy, wet and wild walk on the beach this morning and some family gardening this arvo. Lush. Hope everyone has had a lovely day.

Elizadoesdolittle · 15/03/2015 22:16

Happy mothers day all xx

So I have a bit of an odd relationship with my mum. won't bore you with ins and outs but have felt very let down by her of late. But I thought sod it, i'm going to bury the hatchet so I surprised her with a visit this morning and took flowers and cake. She seemed genuinely touched so I'm glad I did it.

Think I've mentioned E has been unwell? Anyway she has. And my mum said it could be her teeth. And I felt the back of her mouth and it did feel like her back bottom teeth were coming through. Is it around this age that they do? I've forgotten!

GwenaelleLaGourmande · 16/03/2015 06:29

Yeah between 2 and 3 Eliza I think is the norm.

StuntNun · 16/03/2015 19:52

Aargh I think this baby is trying to get out. He had been happily breech for ages but has now decided that transverse is the way to be. Ouch!

Elizadoesdolittle · 16/03/2015 20:29

Not sure it is teeth now as she has come out in a rash on her chest and back. Dr google tells me it could be scarlet fever so off to the drs we go tomorrow. Had a lovely day planned too Sad

stunt ouch!

YellowWellies · 16/03/2015 22:37

Can I commend Caitlin Moran's new comedy series 'Raised by Wolves' to the Quiche. Bloody hilarious! Catch it on 4OD.

Elizadoesdolittle · 17/03/2015 12:30

E's got tonsillitis so a quiet day for us. Currently watching finding nemo. Starting to regret putting it on though as the constant "where's nemo?" is getting a bit wearing.

TheRealGracePoole · 17/03/2015 14:49

Really yw? I don't normally like Caitlin Morna I sort of feel that she is trying too hard to be cool. Or maybe she is cool and I am just a bit bitter and jealous about how cool she is because I am so not cool. I don't do very well with cool people.

Do you have fb friends and all there statuses are a just cryptically cool? I just don't get them. I just don't know what they are on about.

I am just so uncool.

Great weekend, tractors out at dawn, spuds planted and all the drills done for the veg. I have just got all my seeds in. In my cool, Yep cool, 7 tray windowsill propergator thing.

DH off to Florence tomorrow till Sat so wooly pjs on And hot water botltle out.

GwenaelleLaGourmande · 17/03/2015 17:19

I think you are very cool grace

Not a Caitlin Moran fan either. I like and agree with a lot of what she has to say, but don't like the way she says it. Plus she always pulls a face when being photographed- it annoys me :o

eliza tonsillitis is a bugger I remember being given loads of ice cream. Is there any kind of allergen free ice cream she can have?

Passmethecrisps · 17/03/2015 20:39

You are über cool *grace

Tonsolitis is a total bitch eliza. What a winter this has been

OP posts:
Elizadoesdolittle · 17/03/2015 21:27

I do have some dairy free ice cream in the freezer actually. Will crack it out tomorrow.

grace I read it that you and DH were off to Florence at first. I'd love to go to Florence. I've been to a few places in Italy but never made it there. I will though. When the kids are old enough to fend for themselves. I miss long weekends away.

YellowWellies · 17/03/2015 22:25

We've just booked a holiday to a wee villa on an olive farm near San Gimignano in Tuscany - Florence, Sienna, Lucca and Pisa will be on our day trip list. I can't blimmin wait for June!!! First overseas holiday since our honeymoon when I was preggers with Jonas! Whoop Smile

Lily311 · 18/03/2015 05:00

I went for a similar trip for my 30th, Florence was just amazing. The food, the sunshine, the mood, I can still feel it. Pisa was ok but nothing there apart from the leaning tower. Well jealous!!

Zamboni · 18/03/2015 07:14

You are cool Grace.

Jealous of the Florence trips. I have never been to Italy beyond landing in Turin once for a skiing hol just the other side of the French border. My DM lived in Florence for a year and I would love to go there. DH and I intended to go to Rome the year after we got mbut DD cathan expected

Zamboni · 18/03/2015 07:16

*the year after we got married but DD came along earlier than we expected.

Jealous of your trip YW. Smile

S slept from 1845 - 0645 and we woke him up. This has never happened before. ShockShockShock Hope it happens again! SmileSmile

TheRealGracePoole · 18/03/2015 10:13

I was going to gatecrash this trip and skulk around Florence while DH worked hard but it is a bit of a pain to get to from here so you would need a day either end almost for travel. So I think we will try for a trip in a couple of years when the boys are older. Either just us or the 4 of us. I think that an annual few days city break would be good for the boys as we live so rurally.

GwenaelleLaGourmande · 18/03/2015 13:53

Your Italian trip sounds fab yw

Am lying down for 10 mins. My back has given up on me and I have a party starting in half an hour.

Pikz · 18/03/2015 16:16

Oh no GG

Very jealous of Italy sounds ace

Yay for sleep Zamboni
