Absolutely not being mean. Could you say that he's welcome in the daytime but that you really need to start the bedtime routine at 6 (or whatever) and the children are too excitable if he's there?

TobyLerone · 18/05/2015 19:56

Also, tell your husband to cock off with telling you what to do :o

FelixFelix · 18/05/2015 22:55

You're not being mean, you're being sensible! I agree with Toby - say he's welcome to pop by any time as long as it's before a set time when you need to start the bedtime routine.

Hi GSR! Hope everything is going well and you're not too stressed about your degree.

I am back home now. I've never been so happy to hand S over to DP Grin She was so excited to see him, it was very cute.

Naturegirl82 · 19/05/2015 08:38

Good luck for the exam gsr.

Felix I bet that was cute. Loving all the handmade creations on fb as well Grin

altered I wouldn't have him round at bed time either, especially when you are just trying to get a routine in place.

We have O's hospital appointment today with what I think is the surgeon. Hoping it goes ok.

alteredimages · 19/05/2015 09:20

Good luck with the hospital appointment nature and O!

I told DH at the time that FIL is of course welcome any time but not after 7pm on school nights. He said he thought one night wouldn't make a difference (ha!) but hasn't dared broach the subject again. I think I gave him the look. Grin

I just doubted myself afterwards, because FIL does so much for us and I hate saying no to anyone! He has a typical Egyptian retired person's schedule which means getting up between 10.30 and 11, breakfast at 11.30, he picks up DD from school for me at 12.45 then goes home and reads the paper til lunchtime at 4. Sleeps until sunset, then watches tv til midnight and goes to bed late. So really we just have totally incompatible schedules. His hanging out time starts when DCs are going to bed, as we are up at 6 every morning.

I want to see your creations too Felix! Are you advertising anywhere other than facebook?

FelixFelix · 19/05/2015 09:48

Good luck nature. Hope it goes well! And thank you, I'm enjoying it so far but it's hard work.

Altered I forgot you're not on FB! I have an Instagram page too if you happen to be on there? I am going to set up an Etsy shop at some point too but I want to see how well it goes first. I think you can still see the FB page without having an account if you google 'Sylvie Moon facebook.'

FelixFelix · 19/05/2015 09:49

Forgot to say S only woke up once last night and slept until 9am so I feel like a new woman today Grin

alteredimages · 19/05/2015 10:06

Felix I had a false start because there are loads of Sylvie Moon personal profiles, but you came up straight away when I typed in Sylvie Moon clothes.

They are amazing! I so wish you had been around when DD was littler. She looked like a ginger cabbage patch doll. Grin

She is a bit of a fashionista unlike me, I am going to have a nosey of the stuff that works for almost five year olds.

No boy stuff right? N is a total poser in photos and would be happy to model anything I bought. He has had modelling and advertising offers , but I am pretty sure they just love anyone European looking (see cabbage patch doll DD above).

I seriously do need to buy something for my niece though. She is very very cute, mostly spherical and almost six months. Do you have any recommendations?

FelixFelix · 19/05/2015 11:23

Thank you! Mostly spherical Grin I am only doing the dresses, blouses (which are a shorter length version of the dress) and bloomers at the moment to keep things simple for me but I'm going to add more options as I go along. I think any of them would work for that age, to be honest. I can do any item from 0-3 months onwards and they seem to fit forever. My 3 year old niece fits in the 18-24 month size dress (she's not particularly small) and Sylvie fits in it too. I'm guessing it's because of the style of them and the elasticated neckline.

Boys items I am currently working on. I have patterns for shirts and proper shorts, and dungaree type thing but I want to perfect them before I start selling anything. I did make some bloomers with an elasticated cuff in the arrow print fabric for a little boy though Smile

alteredimages · 19/05/2015 19:25

They all look great, I'll have a job choosing. Will PM you later.

I think N could pull off bloomers though. Smile

N has had three baths again today. The first was after breakfast, then a second after having some watermelon and a third after grilled fish for lunch.

He is going to need some supper when he gets back from having his hair cut and I have a feeling that will entail bath number four. Confused

TobyLerone · 19/05/2015 19:28

Just a note re the clothes, I got M the dress in 12-18 months and it could have done with being the next size up for the length once her nappy is under it. She is pretty tall, though. It's a beautiful dress and I just want it to fit her for as long as possible!

alteredimages · 19/05/2015 19:44

Thanks for the tip Toby. Does M still wear cloth nappies or disposables?

TobyLerone · 19/05/2015 20:34

Half and half, altered. The cloth nappies have fallen by the wayside a bit because she drinks so much she pees through them. So they're just for home.

FelixFelix · 19/05/2015 22:56

Sorry that it's slightly short Toby Sad Does it fit ok otherwise? S wears the 12-18 month size but I'm not sure if she's short or not. I think they have a lot of give in them width ways so she could still wear it as a tunic/blouse as she gets older. I wish I had enough of that fabric left to make one for S.

Naturegirl82 · 20/05/2015 09:39

O's appointment yesterday went ok. As she hasn't had a uti yet they are just going to keep going as we are until she gets to 3 or starts to get uti's. If she gets uti's then they may operate. If we can get to 3 then they will take her off the antibiotics and see if she then starts to get them. If she does then they will operate, if not then they will just leave her be. Nice to have a definite plan and timescale in place though.

TobyLerone · 20/05/2015 10:30

Oh, felix, not your fault! It's perfect on her now. So the sizing is actually bang on. I just need the sun to come out so she can wear it! And yes, it's plenty big enough everywhere else so I've already decided she'll be wearing it with long sleeves and leggings underneath for ages :o

TobyLerone · 20/05/2015 10:31

Glad the appointment went ok, nature.

alteredimages · 20/05/2015 13:18

DD's clothes are all either sleeveless dresses or blouses with leggings so your stuff is a perfect fit for the weather here Felix

Glad there is a plan for O and you are more sure about what is happening O. Hope she keeps well in the meantime.

Angelesque · 20/05/2015 22:57

Felix I am soooooo excited for when you start boys' stuff! Keen for shorts, and also any solution you could provide for a smart/casual top that fits nicely for a toddler who is always a bit chunky for shirts Blush

alteredimages · 21/05/2015 01:13

I have the same problem with N Angel. It is usually just about ok until he wants to sit down and then the buttons start to show the strain. Smile

FelixFelix · 21/05/2015 08:13

Nature glad the appointment went ok and you have some sort of idea what's going to be happening. It must be a relief to be well informed!

Thanks for the comments everyone Smile it's going really well so far which surprises me because I had visions of no customers and lots of expensive fabric laying around Grin

I'm going to work on some boys stuff this weekend. I have a pattern for some slightly dropped crotch shorts which will be lovely and cool for summer (with nappy room!) and also some tailored shorts and a shirt. I'm not sure what else people would want. I've had a request from all-in-one dungaree type things too.

BookTart · 21/05/2015 08:47

That all sounds like good news nature. How are you doing? Can't be long to go now!

We had a nightmare day yesterday. She went in her cot for her nap, but 20 minutes later was screaming her head off. Then she did the same at bed time. It took us an hour and a half to get her to sleep, and she got up at 5.30 :( She's got a cold today, so I'm hoping that was it, but I fear it is the start of a phase. She's so clingy in the day that I think it could be a separation anxiety thing. Fingers crossed for tonight...

alteredimages · 21/05/2015 09:27

Tailored stuff might not be the best look for N. Grin

I have some old dungarees I picked up from charity shops in France that N isn't going to wear. I'd be happy to send you a couple if you want to pick them apart and use as a basis for patterns etc. One is quite cool and vintage looking, though the fabric is light blue gingham check. They are puffball short dungarees. N is enough of a puffball as it is.

Poor P Sad. I hope she has a better day today book and you get some rest.

DH had his visa appointment this morning and it is a really big day at work. I really hope it all goes well!

Naturegirl82 · 21/05/2015 14:07

book not doing too bad thanks. 32+3 now, 52 days till due date, 14.5 working days left not that I'm counting! Absolutely massive now but bump has dropped quite a bit in the last few days.

alteredimages · 21/05/2015 20:43

That's really soon nature! I can't believe how quickly the time has gone. Hope you enjoy the rest of your pregnancy. Hooray for almost being finished work!
