Sadly the proteins are too similar gsr, so no goat stuff either. I hope your night ended better than it started. P has been cutting her first two molars for weeks, and she's waking up and shouting several times a night. She's knackered all day from not sleeping properly, poor thing.

We've failed the milk ladder three times puggle, yoghurt seems to be the problem, we'll try again in a couple of months. At least she is only intolerant rather than allergic. That must be scary.

Swannykazoo · 28/04/2015 08:48

Apologies book -preaching to the converted and all that. I'm amazed that we've been told not to try the milk ladder at all just yet - probably shows its all a bit made up and guesswork.
I am amassing a stockpile of "vegan" well dairy and egg free can't be doing with all this cocoa nibs instead of chocolate bollox recipes as H is allergic/intolerant to egg and soya (and bloody sodding nuts) so if you want a recipe swap give me a shout

BookTart · 28/04/2015 19:41

Poor H, and poor you puggle. That must be so difficult, you can hardly eat anything at all. We were just told to start trying the milk ladder from a year old, but we've had no help with it at all. Have you found the CMPA recipe and support groups on Facebook? I've found them really useful.

FelixFelix · 28/04/2015 19:54

Sorry to all those with allergies! Sounds like a nightmare. I have no experience of it so no advice Sad

Not much happening here. S is still ill and has now passed it on to me. Early night tonight I think!

Naturegirl82 · 29/04/2015 09:21

I hate teeth. Why on earth does teething cause so many problems for babies when other animals have no problems at all! Grrr.

FelixFelix · 29/04/2015 09:29

Tiny bastards! (The teeth not the babies Grin). That's all I have to say on the matter.

Naturegirl82 · 29/04/2015 09:31

Indeed they are felix

Sunshineseeker80 · 29/04/2015 10:40

Re teeth - I'm probably preacing what you already know but have you tried the Boots herbal teething packets? I've got half of Sydney hooked on them as we have nothing like it here and I get my mum to ship them across. They really do the trick for us, esp just before bed and I feel less bad than giving constant nurofen.
I'm so over molars though and only one has broken through.

Naturegirl82 · 29/04/2015 11:03

sunshine we use everything! But it's the molars that are causing the issue. I wish we could alternate calpol and neurofen to help but unfortunately we can't. We use anbesol as well but nothing was touching it last night Sad

Sunshineseeker80 · 29/04/2015 12:19

I feel your pain. I've been lucky though that most of the molar fallout has been in the day at nursery and she's so exhausted at night she's still just about sleeping through. Don't envy the people dealing with the days though. In true Aussie style today's nursery feedback 'she had the total shits all day today...' Mood rather than bottom related Blush
Nature congrats to your DH on the marathon btw. I bloody love the marathon, it passes at the bottom of my old street in Greenwich and we watched it every year. so much respect for those who complete it

alteredimages · 29/04/2015 12:44

Best nursery feedback ever sunshine. Grin

There is a thread on here atm about a mum who is thinking of switching nurseries because a nursery worker agreed that her DD is a whinger. Not sure how most Brits would cope with that message.

I don't give N anything for his teething. I am an evil Mum, aren't I? Tbh it took me a while to realise his grumpiness was because he was cutting molars. Now I feel bad. Sad

Today is really really hot. I think about 38 degrees hot. I am melting and fantasizing about cool stonebuilt Victorian houses and Nour is trying to sit in the fridge Snowman style. The summer and a long trip to the UK can't come soon enough!

alteredimages · 29/04/2015 22:49

Argh. N has stopped feeding to sleep. Just not fussed. It is almost midnight and he is still awake.

So far I have tried feeding him pasta, yoghurt, banana oat muffin, milk and water. All refused.

Tried reading a book. Tried singing. He didn't like either of those.

Then he pulled a top out the laundry and insisted on putting it on, along with DH's shoes and raided the fridge for slices of cheddar cheese.

Then he grabbed me and DH by the hair and made us kiss him for five minutes straight and spent a further five minutes clapping himself and saying bravo.

Then he decided he didn't want the top on after all, but screamed because he wanted to take it off by himself.

Then I gave him a leaflet, which he ate, and promptly fell asleep.

Firstly, why is he being such a weirdo, and secondly, please tell me it gets better. Confused

GunShotResidue · 30/04/2015 12:24

Aww, altered that sounds adorable! I can image it being frustrating though! L isn't sleeping at the moment either. She woke up at 3am Monday and ran round the living room for a few hours before passing out on the floor Confused hopefully it's just a phase!

DH is taking her every night at the minute as I'm in the last month of my degree. I feel really guilty but she's being a pain in the neck during the day so I'm struggling to get it all done as it is!

alteredimages · 01/05/2015 00:59

Good luck with your degree GunShot. I really admire the dedication and effort it must take to complete a degree while looking after a toddler. I often struggle just to get everyone dressed and fed!

Angelesque · 02/05/2015 07:30

K Middy is in labour... Last time we were all about 3/4 months pregnant. How times change!

Happy weekend all Wine

alteredimages · 02/05/2015 08:58

Happy weekend angel. Time does fly, doesn't it?

Have to say, I am glad it isn't me in labour. Don't think I really want to do that again.

GunShotResidue · 02/05/2015 10:15

Thanks altered, struggling to find any motivation to study at the minute!

It's two years ago next weekend that I found out I was pregnant, it's crazy to think about.

Naturegirl82 · 02/05/2015 15:10

Some of us are about to do it again Confused eek!

alteredimages · 03/05/2015 00:02

Smile. Good luck nature! I can't believe how quickly the time has gone. It seems like yesterday all these babies were born, but actually they are toddlers and growing up so fast.

GunShotResidue · 03/05/2015 04:39

How long do you have left Nature?

L's been awake since just before 3. I don't know how she can tell the time but she keeps waking up at 3 for the day. DH is soft and let's her run round the living room whist he dozes on the sofa but I've kept her in her cot tonight. I did give in and give her a bottle, but I think it's just given her more energy. No idea what we're going to do with her. She woke at least 5 times between 8 and 3, and this about average for her at the minute. Taking it in turns is keeping us sane but we haven't slept in the same bed in months! Trying not to moan in 'real life' but I'm feeling very sorry for myself!

TobyLerone · 03/05/2015 06:38

I feel your pain, GSR. M wakes at 4.30/5am every day. I bring her in with us at that point and try to feed her back to sleep but she just marauding around the bed, eventually pulling my hair or pinching me when she gets bored. I've been downstairs with her for an hour already.

Still, at least she's started sleeping through until then. So it could be much worse. Has been, until a couple of weeks ago. It sucks, GSR. M has never slept through the night, even once, but this is a vast improvement.

Naturegirl82 · 03/05/2015 07:15

Sympathys but glad i'm not the only one up. O is actually a pretty good sleeper but will wake for the day between 5 and 6.

My neighbours are going to think I'm batty this morning though. It's tipping down and I've just been out and hung the nappies from the wash out on the line. They needed to go through another rinse anyway and figured the rain would give a good strip wash Smile

I've got 10 weeks to go. 6 left at work although that's been mega stressful again. Like last time they denied my hoiday request before mat leave and my boss has refused to speak to me about it for over a week. HR hadn't sent me any of the documents I was meant to fill in and messed my pay up resulting in me crying down the phone to them Thursday and a hurriedly organised meeting to go through everything on Friday Blush So instead of taking leave at the start now I've just requested my mat leave start that day and I'll tell my boss that next week. Can't believe after the hassle I had last time they've manage to balls up even more this time!

alteredimages · 03/05/2015 09:37

Glad you both posted nature and Toby. I thought the thread was dying. Who would I have whinged to then?

But seriously, where did everyone go? Has it switched to fb or do you all actually have lives outside of MN?

That all sounds really stressful nature. What are they gaining by being such twunts?

N has just had breakfast. He toddled to the fridge and got his yoghurt out and walked over to his highchair. Put him in and gave him a spoon. I now know better than try to feed him. The obvious mess ensued but when he was finished he stood up in his high chair, and gave me a short sharp nod just like MIL when she wants to be served in a shop. Confused. Suddenly I feel like staff.

TarkaTheOtter · 03/05/2015 09:43

Haven't posted for ages but wanted to say hi.
A is getting molars through too but amazingly seems to be less bothered than he was for the first teeth despite getting all 4 at once. Have been dosing with calpol and nurofen at bedtime so maybe that's helping a bit.
I'm still TTC but have been having a bit of problem with my blood sugars so have been losing some weight to help. Life is a misery of low carb and exercise bike Sad.

BookTart · 03/05/2015 10:02

Sympathy to all those with early wakers. P goes through phases of this, and I think it is almost worse than night waking sometimes. I think it is something to do with how early she has her first nap, but I've never really worked it out.

I'm still here altered, and I definitely don't have a life outside MN! I just have nothing interesting to say at all. Her molars are still coming through, she is currently covered in snot (a cold? Hayfever? Teething? Who knows?!) Still not saying anything, and has reverted to two naps in the daytime again. It is like having a 6 month old again.

We took her to meet Peppa Pig yesterday at a local farm. She was so excited. She was shaking and making a weird noise whilst holding her arms up towards Peppa and waving a Peppa teddy at her. All the other kids were just having their photo taken, but not P. Oh no. She was squealing and touching the hem of Peppa's garment Blush, it was like some sort of religious experience for her. Maybe she watches too much TV!

Good luck to all those ttc and about to do it all again. You are all made of much braver stuff than me!
