According to the book, the Wonder Week hasn't really even started yet! Shock :(

FelixFelix · 02/03/2015 21:03

Ok I take back what I said about the wonder weeks being bullshit, seeing as though all of us are having the same issues!

Do you reckon we could just chuck them all in a playpen together to entertain each other, and we can all go out on the lash instead? Grin

AMillionNameChangesLater · 02/03/2015 22:01

I'm up for that Felix!

Did anyone have a better night last night? S was crying on and off from bedtime until about 11.30 then woke up every hour or so crying but went back to sleep after about 10 minutes. I struggled to get back to sleep though Confused

The problem with this frequent night waking is that she's guzzling milk like it's going out of fashion. She had three 6oz bottles last night and another one before bed Shock I really don't have the willpower to wean her off them as it's the only thing that makes her go back to sleep.

Naturegirl82 · 03/03/2015 08:16

Better night here. Slept 7 till 4.50 and then I managed to get her back off to sleep until 6.30 when the dog woke her up barking. At least it's an improvement again.

BookTart · 03/03/2015 08:24

felix P did the same a few times last night. When I got her up this morning everything was covered in snot. I can't take her to crèche like this, so we are watching Peppa in our pyjamas :)

TobyLerone · 03/03/2015 08:59

Nope, not a better night here. Up 5 or 6 times. I lost count. Then she peed through her nappy just as I was about to take DH to The station, due to having fed so much in the night.

Swannykazoo · 03/03/2015 09:26

Felix that';s a great plan. Let all the DHs get stuck in too!
Terrible sleep again. Itchy baby from some accidental dairy over the weekend, so waking every half hour to hour. We have 2 molars though, so by my calculations we have 50% of bloody sodding baby teeth.
Have started a gentle conversation with DH that he needs to try and do some baby settling as I can't do it all, all the time. He has no concept that he needs to be more involved as thinks boobs solve everything!

FelixFelix · 04/03/2015 20:44

How's everyone getting on? Only one wake up last night which I was very pleased about, but now she won't go to sleep! She just screams every time I put her in the cot. I ran myself a bubble bath and everything and now it's gone cold Grin

TobyLerone · 04/03/2015 21:27

M goes to bed fine. It's just staying there that's the issue!

Bit of a horrible day here. My grandad was taken to hospital this morning. He's on Warfarin and had a nosebleed which went on for hours and they couldn't stop. He's got to stay in overnight.
Then DS's girlfriend texted him to tell him that her dad died suddenly this morning :(
It's just too horrible. I can't stop thinking about her and her family.

bumpiesonamission · 04/03/2015 21:37

Hi all.

Well we had a temp of 38.9 so I collected him from the cm and he perked up, little pickled!

So sorry about DSs gfs dad. how sad

FelixFelix · 04/03/2015 22:25

Oh Toby that's awful. How old are your ds and his gf? I hope your grandad makes a speedy recovery.

BookTart · 04/03/2015 23:09

toby that's so sad, poor DS's girlfriend. I hope your Granddad is okay. My mum is on Warfarin, it is a tricky drug to get right. Hopefully his levels just need adjusting.

TobyLerone · 05/03/2015 06:38

They're 15. She's such a lovely girl and I can't stop thinking about her mum. He was away with work, so DS's gf didn't know until she got home from school. Every time I've been up in the night (an improvement at 3 times last night) it was the first thing I thought of.

Thanks for the good wishes for my grandad. The hospital said they'll cauterise it today if it's still.bleeding, but they basically just left him to it yesterday.

FelixFelix · 05/03/2015 08:03

15 Sad that's just awful. It's no age to lose a parent. Poor girl.

TobyLerone · 05/03/2015 08:34

I know :( she has a younger brother, too. He's 11.

FelixFelix · 05/03/2015 08:40

Stuff like that always plays on my mind. One of the local cyclists was killed a couple of weeks ago and had three young children. I can't stop thinking about it. It just breaks my heart Sad

S has just managed to climb up on to the settee next to me Shock she's never climbed anything!!

FizzypopFireball · 05/03/2015 08:43

Toby so sorry to hear about your DS's girlfriend's dad. Hope your son is ok. Also wishing your granddad a speedy recovery - just as an aside, if they do need to cauterise, get them to anaesthetize the area thoroughly or at least give a mild sedative. My DF needed the procedure repeated again and again as he was in so much pain when they did it, the lesion never properly sealed up. He suffered really badly from nose bleeds for a year which required him to be hospitalised each time. It was only when I googled it and saw they were supposed to give anaesthetic, that DF went into hospital and demanded it. He didn't get a nose bleed after that. Shocking, really.

Didn't want to read and run without posting.

alteredimages · 05/03/2015 09:00

I haven't been posting recently because I have had nothing useful to say, but I am so sorry to hear what a rough time you are having toby.

I hope DS's girlfriend is getting plenty of support, what a horrible horrible shock. I can't imagine what it must be like for her DM having to hold everything together.

I hope your grandad is better soon. DMIL is also on ridiculous amounts of warfarin for an undiagnosed clotting disorder and it is really scary. She wants to have a knee replacement operation soon but I am struggling to see how she could have it safely. Sad

Felix that is really sad about the cyclist. When we lived in the US 20 years ago my dad bought us all bikes from the local bike store and the guy who sold them to him was knocked off his bike and killed on his way home that evening near our house. I know my Dad still thinks about it now.

Anyway, sorry about my funfest of a post, will catch up and post something more cheery. Smile

TobyLerone · 05/03/2015 09:27

Thanks, all. Grandad is ok. They put a thing up his nose yesterday which inflates to put pressure on the vessels to try to stop the bleeding. The drs have deflated it this morning and they'll see how he goes.
Thanks for the info, fizzy. That's really helpful. I'm sorry your dad had such a rough time.

DS is ok, thanks for asking. He didn't know him well. But I think he's getting bored of me hugging him.

Felix, that's so sad. It's just so unfair. And scary.

TobyLerone · 05/03/2015 09:33

Oh, felix, M has learnt to climb onto the sofa this week too! Nothing is safe now. We used to put things she wasn't supposed to have (like remote controls and my knitting) on the back of the sofa because it was the only place she couldn't reach.

MrsGSR · 05/03/2015 10:39

Thinking of your granddad, your DS, his his GF and her family, Toby Flowers

Nothing is safe here either. On Saturday, just before DH went skiing, L climbed up onto the dining room chair, got to the fruit bowl and ate a banana and 3 oranges. All whilst DH was supposed to be watching her! She had a bit of a stomach ache and the acidity of her nappy gave her really bad nappy rash, which she's not really had before. I keep smothering it in sudocreme and it's almost gone now.

TobyLerone · 05/03/2015 11:23

Oh, MrsG, that made me laugh! :o

FelixFelix · 05/03/2015 12:36

MrsG that's a lot of fruit Shock she's so clever Grin

AMillionNameChangesLater · 05/03/2015 18:31

I'm sorry Toby
MrsG that's so funny!
