Sorry everyone's struggling - getting scared about this regression
Don't remember regression with #1 - she was such a bad sleeper that I'm not sure I'd have noticed though
I have a younger one than most & she was a couple of weeks before her due date ( which according to wonder weeks app makes a difference) so not due yet....please don't let my placid sleepy baby go away:(

Thanks for formula advice - have been making 7oz - and true to form she's only eating 5!

Have a good afternoon everyone

STIGZ · 12/02/2015 16:10

My placid sleepy baby has changed into a grumpy clingy wee soul aswell Sad she is nearly 17 weeks and according to the the wonder week app this current leap is the most difficult for a long timeHmm I'm barely coping as it is and it ends in 27 daysSadSadSad

Are you still carrying your babies? If so, what carriers do you use?

I have carried her the whole time pretty much, I don't like using a buggy much as I find them limiting where I live. I've got a stretchy sling, a boba 4g and a manduca, and definitely prefer the sling, even for longer walks. It feels now though as if the sling sags too low with her in it unless I tie it uncomfortably tight. I walk around 5 - 7 miles most days, so thought the more structured carriers would be better. Thing is, I just can't get them comfy,

Has anyone got a maitai or a connecta? They look to be a good happy medium. Do you like it?

hefner · 12/02/2015 17:02

Goats I've got a sleepy nico which is similar to a connecta ( just slightly more padded) - I love it. I like my boba 4G too but the sleepy nico is more comfy. If you like your stretchy, what about trying a woven wrap?

Hi to all the new/returning posters. I feel like I should reintroduce myself as I haven't posted in ages, I've been on facebook more. My ds is 18 weeks old and I also have a 3 year old dd.

We had the worst nights sleep ever last night and ds has refused to nap today. He's finally fallen asleep on my lap and I'm sitting very still with a very strong coffee. I'm a zombie, thank god dd is at nursery today.

MundayCakes85 · 12/02/2015 17:33

Goats we've got an Ergo and it's really comfy. Don't need the newborn insert anymore and she's still really snug in there. Well done walking so much. The weather's putting me off going out too much.

FlipFantasia · 12/02/2015 18:13

Sazzle the 5 hours was amazing - hope you get a stretch soon! Course then last night was waking every hour or so am knackered again - swings and roundabouts! Had a lovely play date with a class mate of DS's. Am finally potty training dd1 so wanted to stick close to home. 2 accidents in and already feeling the extra laundry burden...

Goats all that walking must be lovely! The connecta has lots of fans on the FB group but I've never tried it. My SIL gave me a mai tai but I've only used the ergo (which I love). Can you get to a sling meet or library for some tips?

And I'm glad that I've never looked at the wonder weeks app - I think it would stress me out! We attached the baby set to dd2'a tripp trapp so today was the first day she's been sitting up at the table with us. Feels like she's growing fast!

polkadotdelight · 12/02/2015 20:34

Just coming out of lurkerdom to say we are using a Tula. Its a buckle carrier and both DH and I love it.

Kirstipops · 12/02/2015 20:35

H was born 4th October so prob one of the older babies on here, she decided to have her 4 month sleep regression a month early (which was eventually sorted in 3 weeks after we started an earlier bedtime, otherwise she would prob still have been coming to bed with us, though I do like that we have our evenings back and she sleeps 12-13 hours now (with a wakeup or 2) when she only slept 9-10 hrs before. She also has two front teeth now which popped through during the throes of clingy grumpy leap 4, you'll get your happy contented babies back soon, honest, with added recognisable development-y benefits Grin

sazzlehopes · 12/02/2015 20:55

Wow kirstie two front teeth too! N was 4th oct too but no teeth here yet and no sign of getting some decent sleep in!

Goats we too have an ergo and love it, used it loads with ds1 too and enjoyed back carrying sometimes.

N is 19 weeks on Saturday and really hoping that we will be at the end of the crazy bad sleep soon. It's been at least 3 weeks of waking far too frequently at night... Would love a 4 hour stretch, that would be incredible. I remember that ds1 was a bad sleeper too and we did get there in the end so keeping everything crossed we get here in the end! Good luck tonight everyone!

BettyJudy · 12/02/2015 22:10

Good to hear Kirsti! Yep good luck everyone for tonight. Dd asleep just now but took over two hours of solid settling

MundayCakes85 · 12/02/2015 22:27

Not sure I want E to get teeth, my poor nipples have enough to cope with already!
Good luck tonight non-sleeping mummies.
My LO is just too nosey sometimes to settle for food/ sleep etc. she's like a moth and stares at lights too!! Bless Smile

splendide · 13/02/2015 00:31

Sleep definitely worse here too :(

His first wake up is creeping earlier and earlier. Was 5 then 3 then 1.30 now it's 12.30. Don't really know what to do other than ride it out I guess. Hideous though.

MundayCakes85 · 13/02/2015 06:26

Controversially I've stopped the dream feed, unless she wakes up, and it's really helped her nightly wake ups. Unfortunately my painful boobs get me far earlier than the baby!!
Happy Friday everyone x

sazzlehopes · 13/02/2015 06:44

Morning! I know there were a lot of wake ups last night, (no change) and N slept on me all night. I've stopped clock watching though which is helping with my sanity. That way I either feel tired or I feel ok.... If I know I've been up at this time then that time then that time i almost feel more tired iyswim because I know I probably should be tired.
Anyway I guess I'm saying one day hopefully really really soon N will sleep for longer and that will be bloomin great.

ohthegoats · 13/02/2015 08:07

Thanks for sling opinions. I'm going to the sling library today to borrow a mei tai - I think I'm better with no buckles.

Same as kirsti, I think we did our sleep nightmare stuff a month ago. Christmas and New year were awful, as was first week of January. If you go by wonder weeks stuff she was 15 weeks during that first week of January.

She's pulled her shit together in the last month though ' we've moved bedtime earlier and I feed her every 2 hours during the day. She wakes up when I go to bed for food, then 10 minutes at 3 or 4am, then morning. That's most nights, although there are still some crap ones.

She's been awake now gor 40 minutes but lay in bed happily until I properly woke up at 8. She's currently lying on my bed chatting away to herself - makes me think she's not hungry and may be able to miss the middle of the night feed quite soon. Ha. Optimistic.

sazzlehopes · 13/02/2015 08:28

Goats good luck at the sling library - lol at shes pulled her shit together I'm off to tell N to do the same...
He's an angel in the day, happy and naps well wtc just a pain in the arse at night. I assume it's because im so brilliant he can't bear to be away from me for longer than 45 minutes.... Grin

tattyblue · 13/02/2015 09:13

I've sort of resigned myself to how things are at the minute. Until a few weeks ago I had a cheerful baby who was largely a good sleeper, so I feel like the standard has been established and we'll get back there. I've looked at all the sleep advice and all the things I'm prepared to do I'm doing, so really there's nothing for it but waiting and hoping. Which would be easier if I didn't have this poxy cold which I can't shift because no sodding sleep.

Does anyone have any advice for how to transition from a crib to a cot? I thought the extra space would be helpful but she's taken to screaming when put down in it if she's drowsy (although happy in it if properly awake).

splendide · 13/02/2015 09:50

Same Tatty, I think I just need to ride it out and hopefully things will return to where they were. I have one of the youngest babies here I think so it's encouraging to see some of the older ones coming out of this phase. Sucks at the moment though.

tattyblue · 13/02/2015 09:59

Obviously when I say there's nothing for it but waiting and hoping it should be understood that I mean "and complaining constantly".

splendide · 13/02/2015 10:09

Also same. Plus some crying.

tattyblue · 13/02/2015 11:22

Yes exactly. Usually at about ten pm. Boo boo, I say. Boo hoo poor me. Sometimes the baby and I cry in tandem. It's all very undignified.

ohthegoats · 13/02/2015 12:12

I like the 3am solo lonely cry the best. Baby on one boob, pump on another 'this is what my life has come to'. It's better than the 6pm 'for the love of god why isn't your father home yet' cry of frustration.

tattyblue · 13/02/2015 12:53

I am guilty of sometimes doing over dramatic loud sobbing in the middle of the night just so the boyfriend will wake up and witness my despair. Honestly, it's absurd.

STIGZ · 13/02/2015 13:34

I must say i havnt cried yet but the past 3 days i have been very close, the only reason i dont cry as i know i will upset dd1 if i do. I am bloody so Angry right now as the dog has just woken her second time, my house has a Chinese laundry in it which i was about to sort till the wee fluffy shit head woke her, i really want to cry right nowSad no chance of her sleeping now and dd1 has been off nursery as she has been ill, i have not even had a minute to shit in peace never mind taste any food i put in my mouthConfused

stigz I spend a lot of time thinking that my misery is very much a luxury of the first time mum. It sounds like you're having an awful day-to-day but at last it's Friday. Do you get a bit of a break over the weekend?
