New thread Grin, and I can assure you all, it'll be a corker.

We are pyjamas before breakfast camp too and if I am at home I sometimes keep him in pyjamas. If his clothes are dirty then I put on jogging bottoms and top. No faffing around.

I would keep a bottle of milk in the fridge for dd so she can have that whilst you feed babax. Once babax is fed you can make breakfast for yourself and dd. On nursery days I would change babax babygro after nursery drop off. Of course saying it and doing are completely different things. plonky is right cbeebies is your friend. If it gives you 10mins to do what you need to do then so be it.

worserevived · 22/03/2015 12:38

Nursery days start at 5am Plonky but no, I'm not bathing anyone then! Babax usually wakes for a feed at 5am, and finishes up at 5.45am. Then super nanny takes him off me so I can have a 5min shower, dress and get the dogs up and out down the field for a quick run. I'm back in by 6.30am when the Toddle wakes. She'll need a drink, a top and tail wash, dressed, then downstairs for a quick snack. If I'm lucky Babax won't need a top up, if I'm not he will, but either way we have to leave at 7.30am. When I get back Babax will want another main feed.... and by then the day is well and truly started. The whole morning is rushed actually as if I haven't had lunch by 11.30, I won't get any, as Babax will want another feed, and I have to leave for nursery pick up at 12.30pm. It's worth it though as I do get some time to get things done, and I don't have to go to the park!!!

Plonkysaurus · 22/03/2015 13:16

Blimey worse. My hat is well and truly tipped. Hopefully not long before Babax gets able to go a bit longer between feeds!

If DH complains about lack of sleep when he gets back you have my permission to flick him on the forehead.

yummychocolate · 22/03/2015 13:19

worse can you not extend dd nursery day so its not just a rush that morning. Well done to you for having a run that early in the morning. I would sneakily go back to bed until I have to get up.

Agh just as I was about to go out. Ds vomits all over me. He had a temperature last night and I thought he would be ok. My day out is cancelled. Ds wants mummy when he is ill. Dh is home but itching to go out. Its taken him 20 mins to come back in from putting the bins out.

worserevived · 22/03/2015 14:24

Oh no Yummy it's the dogs having a run, not me Grin! I'd love a run, but I fear my innards might fall out. It's only been 6 weeks....!

I have 10 mins to find something on the internet for DH's birthday. No idea what. Let's see what google can find for me.

worserevived · 22/03/2015 14:25

Poor ds Sad. Poor you SadSad. Hope it's a short lived bug.

StormyBrid · 22/03/2015 14:35

Good luck, worse. I have strict instructions for when fretting over presents for the man: go to amazon, type in either "ferrari" or "oxford united", and order whatever bit of tat catches my eye. Could that work for DH?

It's gloriously sunny, I'm listening to a couple of Mexican guitarists doing the most fantastic cover of Stairway to Heaven, and it feels like summer. Huzzah!

BettyBitesBums · 22/03/2015 14:39

Worse could google perhaps find a meal out or tickets to something that involved babysitters and a night off for you too?

We also don't have much morning hygiene or good parenting here! On nursery days it's a quick nappy change, facewipe and dressed immediately but on non-nursery days we stay in PJs until forced out (usually by DDog) and the day starts with madam coming into my bed to watch Sky go or demand 5 on the iPad until she requests breakfast. Terrible parenting is rife in the House of Betty!

Yummy hopefully it's just a one off puke and an afternoon of sofa cuddles will be a cure all. If DH is itching to get out may I suggest the supermarket? Wink

I started with a hideous migraine after a meal out last night and then DH was working this morning so I had to resort to an eye patch and being called pirate mummy but he's home for a bit, I retreated to my dark hovel and napped and now I'm nearly mended! He's just brought DD up to see me and the two of them have promptly fallen asleep in bed with me. Very cute but a bit noisy with the symphony of snores!

Shatteredmamma1 · 22/03/2015 21:14

Hope your head is better betty. And yummy what about DS? something get well wishes to you too!!
worse sounds like you're making a good job of a hard situation. I second/third/fourth the idea of something really easy for the toddle to eat. Hope babax starts waking a touch later soon. I hadn't really realised the nanny was a maternity nurse and therefore so baby orientated. Maybe you could sneak in a nanny after she leaves..?? Smile
wotta how are you dear? Your FB post was not good. How is DH doing? Hope you're looking after yourself .
How's everyone else? I've had a hectic weekend with lots of travelling so am pleased to be in bed Grin. Pretty tired so here's to good nights for everyone!

Shatteredmamma1 · 22/03/2015 21:15

Oh! And 16 teeth here I think. Mind you I haven't checked for molars for months. Will add it to my to do list!!

Plonkysaurus · 23/03/2015 11:05

Betty your cuddly snory slept pile of family sounds just lovely. reading it made me feel all warm and fuzzy.

Yummy how is ds today? hope it was just a one off and he's running around with tubs of sudocrem (or not) again.

We're trying a cot nap right now. DS hasn't napped in his cot for about a year but I think we've struck a deal. He's being v quiet but I'm not convinced he's asleep.

yummychocolate · 23/03/2015 11:57

Ds is better thank you. A bit groggy but the worst is over I think. This time he is running around with stickers on him. He loves stickers and kinder surprise eggs.

If only ds napped anywhere but his cot. We always have to be back home for nap times. Good luck with creating a new habit for ds. Remember 3 strikes and in theory it should be a habit.

betty yesterdays nap time was so cute to read.

In regards to teeth ds doesn't open his mouth long enough for me to count. I do know he has all teeth apart from the last 4 molars.

something are you feeling any better? Easter holidays for you next week. Whoop whoop.

This week was the last of my leave I needed to take for this financial year and I am spending it washing vomit clothes. Yuck. The joys of motherhood.

Plonkysaurus · 23/03/2015 12:16

Ds was not asleep. After twenty minutes I wentbto check on him and he was sitting in his cot singing a mash up of baa baa black sheep, twinkle twinkle little star and mike the knight. It went baa baa back shee star sky mike knight sky.... incentive yes, restful no. So we've had hummus and bread and he'll be bundled into his buggy soon for an actual nap. Buggy baps are a pita in their own special way though.

Glad to hear yummytoddle is ok again. Maybe something he ate just disagreed with him?

ugh code brown over here. Not good on a morning sicknessy day.

OP posts:
StormyBrid · 23/03/2015 12:57

Call me juvenile but I'm giggling at "buggy baps". Grin The trick is to not check on them, Plonk. I'm sure his delightful song was marvellously restful. We have the monitor so it's easy to assess how a nap is going without disturbing her, but if she sounds happy up there I leave her to it. Still needs an early night to make up for the lost sleep, but the quiet time by herself makes 3pm meltdowns less common.

I have no vomit or poo tales to share in commiseration. Fartypants is doing some awesome farts at the moment though. Definitely taking after me in that respect.

yummychocolate · 23/03/2015 12:59

I think it was a virus. He has come up in a bit of a rash too. I am hoping it was short lived because ds immune system is finally building up.

Ds is a dj in the making with that remix. Hope code brown is short lived for you so you can have a sneaky nap when -if- ds naps.

worserevived · 23/03/2015 15:22

Yummy keep an eye on that rash as scarlet fever cases are rocketing at the moment. Up 1500 percent where I am Sad

yummychocolate · 23/03/2015 15:37

Oh really. Thanks for the tip worse. Will do some research about it now.

SomethingBeginningWith · 23/03/2015 18:21

betty your whole family nap sounds so lovely!!

We only have a cot napper too, so we always need to be at home for 11am to get a decent nap in before I have to wake him for the childminders.

I am feeling better thank you, still getting headaches so thinking an eye test may be in order. yummy I'm glad DS is feeling better and hope the rash is nothing sinister.

I'm currently watching Disney shows with a snuggly 2 year old on me while DP makes me dinner all ready for our tv night together before the playstation gets turned on

How is everyone? All mums, babes and families well? Happy Monday to y'all!

SomethingBeginningWith · 23/03/2015 18:22

And yes! Easter holidays officially start in 9 days, 21 hours and 52 minutes. But I'm not counting!

ecofreckle · 24/03/2015 08:18

Lovely day here in the nondescript middle lands. Just walked Ecotod to CM. Lovely start to the day.

We have something interesting starting with speech and just wanted to sound you all out about it. Ecotod often gets stuck in the middle of a sentence and repeats a couple of words 3 or 4 times. I think it's because she is trying to think of the next word. For example, this morning she pointed to the airer and said "my cardigan on the, on the, on the, on the, clothes horse". Do you think this is just trying to trigger the words from her mind or the start of something we should look out for i.e. a stammer?

We have a cot napper too. Regular as clockwork. Back for lunch at 12. Up to bed at 1245. Sleep 1300-1500. For now. I tend to work during these naps so it does kind of suit me.

Something is TV night a special thing? Was it fun? What did you go for. You may have seen on FB that I was subjected to Footloose. Pretty funny film. It's not supposed to be.

Yummy, how is your poor Yummytod today? I really hope it's just one of those inexplicable viral rashes and that it's gone.

Stormy it's nice to see parental pride in wind. Ecotod is pretty skilled in this area too. If I say "what do you say?" afterwards she says pardon but doesn't volunteer it freely like she would a 'please' at the end of a request for a biscuit.

Plonky love, how many weeks now? 7? It's a step closer to feeling better in the mornings. Have you pulled out the snacks and the ginger to try and help the morning sickness? Also, eating in the middle of the night?

Shattered you've not got long until work ceases for a while. That's exciting. I hope you're able to adapt your duties a bit in these final days to ensure it's appropriate for latter stages of up duffness.

Betty do you understand your migraine triggers? I'm interested. My migraines seem to be altering a bit. I am so thankful I found the breastfeeding network pharmacist. I could have been taking sumitriptan alongside breastfeeding all this time.

Worse what did you plump for in terms of birthday gift? You have the new baby excuse. And next year you'll have the 2 under 3 excuse. How is the allergy at present? Have you managed to find a combination of tactics that works for you? Did you try babax on a bottle? He sounds like a good feeder so hopefully either way he's just getting on with it.

Right, I'd best get started on this work. Happy Tuesdays everyone. Birthday celebrations started today with cakes at the CM. Let the fun times roll!

StormyBrid · 24/03/2015 08:47

eco stammering in toddlers is normal. Fartypants's CBeebies habit means I see quite a lot of preschoolers talking, and they do a lot of repeating themselves while their brains try to figure out how this sentence is supposed to go. Fear not!

We had a good one with language this morning. "What bellybutton do?" Quite a hard one to answer! Also I'm feeling ridiculously smug after seeing a thread yesterday about when letter and number recognition starts. There's a pretty broad range, but Fartypants is way at the early end. Not that this will make a blind bit of difference in the long run (as they all get it in the end) but still. Nice to have the opportunity for a bit of smugness.

ecofreckle · 24/03/2015 09:02

Thanks Stormy. I knew one of you would have wise words. It does make sense. Their brains are processing so very much at present.
Including number and word recognition. Go FP!

StormyBrid · 24/03/2015 10:07

Did you ever learn about child acquisition of language, Eco? It's a fascinating subject. Been a good ten years ago since I covered it in English Language A Level, but bits keep coming back to me as FP demonstrates them. It's pretty cool.

Also pretty cool is the big hug FP gave the littlest niece when my brother brought her over to play this morning. Heart-meltingly adorable.

ecofreckle · 24/03/2015 10:57

Sadly not stormy. Although I've worked in primary education for sixteen years my original training was secondary and that's all very very dull. I am interested in the theory around behaviour and learning in young children though so I may enrol in some training. Thanks for the inspiration.

StormyBrid · 24/03/2015 12:32

Sixteen years of other people's children! You're a very brave woman. I recall Pinker's The Language Instinct being an interesting one (though the author believes in ladybrains so I'm avoiding his other books). And for some reason the Sapir-Whorf hypothesis just jumped into my head, but I can't for the life of me remember what it is. Must do some googling later.
