T still can't say his name, calls himself Badass. Sounds like bad ass (like donkey, rather than backside) makes me chuckle every time though. Especially as we were always a bit over the top with teaching him his name, so he never uses me/mine/I always his name.

Asthma definitely makes you prone to cheat infections spotty. Hope DD is feeling better soon.

Enjoy your weekend WL.

How's things with your boss Hales, did she improve for the next shift?

halestone · 21/02/2015 10:39

WL hope your having a fab time.

Stacks my boss has carried on ignoring me but the last 10 minutes of last nights shift she actually spoke to me so i'm hoping tonight will be better.

Beasty i love it when children say things wrong. The other week H was saying Fuck instead of Stuck and she also says Stick instead of Dick Grin I have videos to embarrass her with when she is older.

Nutella, how is DS today i hope he is better. Thanks

Spotty i hope you get your blood results this week. Waiting is awful.

I'm currently sitting in the car with A. While DH and DD are in TGI'S Friday. He refused to eat and was being really silly and disruptive. I have left DH to pay the bill though! A was sick 3 times on Thursday night, then again on Friday, but is much better today.

We went to get A some new shoes, because he grew out of this pair in just under half the time of the last pair. Got DD checked and bought some new school shoes because she's at the end of her current pair and any growth will mean they don't fit. 30% off one pair and the total bill was still £80 Shock No more spending this month!!

SpottyTeacakes · 21/02/2015 17:47

Dd had five inches of hair cut of today I'm actually quite sad!

Beasty I hate it when they act up when you're out to eat Angry we went to giraffe the other day and they had lidded cups and bought out the dc food straight away perfect temp for eating. Made such a difference.

ddas · 21/02/2015 19:06

Giraffe is the best we've found for kids & food good

MrsNutella · 21/02/2015 20:45

Spotty awwww that haircut would make me sad too. But it reminds me, I need to book a new haircut for DS.

Beasty I have big feet. DH has big feet... DS went through five sizes last year. Shoes are so expensive Sad I can't bring myself to buy really cheap shoes either.

hales thanks for asking, DS is much better today but still very tired. I think he is over the fever now and has a cold and cough like DD had. Hopefully we can treat that and he'll be better soon.
I hope your boss returns to normal soon for you.

Today was very long. But I slept reasonably well. Smile DD seems to be improving a teeny tiny bit at sleeping.

ddas there is a giraffe near my brother's house. Whenever we visit the UK we go there because we also want to go to tesco and the staff there are always really lovely.

We're lucky because DS is as cute and charming as he is curious so he is usually tolerated in places he shouldn't be. Our favourite coffee shop has a few buttons that they let him press behind the counter. They think he is fab. I worry about upsetting other people who don't want to be entertained by a toddler....

SpottyTeacakes · 21/02/2015 20:55

If we go out to eat it's fine with either dc but with both together it's such hard work! Giraffe is definitely my favourite with them though. Plus I love their falafel and halloumi burger mmm

Barbeasty · 21/02/2015 21:16

Ouch Nutella 5 sizes! This is pair of shoes number 3, plus a pair of sandals. When I say in half the time, this was October to February, whereas the last pair were February to October! Tiny child, tiny (size 22) feet. And DD has been the previous size for ages. We got her canvas shoes last spring in 26 and she just measures 27 now.

SpottyTeacakes · 21/02/2015 21:25

Beasty our dc are the same size more or less

MrsNutella · 21/02/2015 21:54

I waited over 6 weeks to buy him his first shoes - because he started walking in winter and I couldn't see the point in letting him try and navigate snow, slush and muck in brand new shoes. Then he started off in a 19. His winter boots are 24. I'm sure he'll need 25 in a minute.

He is a very average height but has pretty large feet. Even DD has big feet. I remember when they were born thinking their feet were surprisingly large Grin

SpottyTeacakes · 22/02/2015 07:59

Dd just accidentally headbutted me in the mouth. It bled and now I have a fat lip Angry Ds woke at 4:40 this morning I managed to get him to stay in his bed until 5:10 ??

utopian99 · 22/02/2015 08:10

O has hobbit feet - totally out of proportion to his height, although he's growing into them a bit now. I can't buy cheap shoes for them either - feet are too important and clarks are invariably naff and covered in gender-biased ghastlyness there's a good indie shoe shop in Islington so tend to trek over there.

O still can't say his name, although he recognise it written down, also the words mummy and daddy. He pronounces them Babbum and Daddum though, I'd be very happy being called Babbum instead of Mum, it's a bit different. Babs when he's older? Grin
Dh let him.watch a bit of Blue Planet the other day so his favourite animals are currently 'yarks'.

Wl hope you're having a great time. Hales sounds like your boss is thawing a bit (odd woman.) spotty ugh and hope it clears up soon. I got it both pregnancies. Angry

SpottyTeacakes · 22/02/2015 08:20

Thanks I haven't had it for years Hmm Ds calls himself 'see-ik' which I think is close enough Grin he also says sorry mummy/daddy/dd and if he doesn't want to do something eg get dressed he goes 'cuggle!' Because he knows I'll choose a cuddle over anything!

WLmum · 22/02/2015 18:01

Back from a lovely weekend away to find mil has been up to her killing me with kindness tricks again. Despite my very clear express wish that she not come and clean my house while we were away, she has done just that. I am absolutely fuming. My house is not a public space, it is MY house. I know she's trying to help but actually she's just adding to the pressure because I know what she thinks my house is a mess (it's really not that bad) and now I feel an extra pressure to keep it tidy or else she's going to come and do it. I'm so cross. DH has nicely had a word, to add to the others over the years.

WLmum · 22/02/2015 18:01

Sorry for the rant but if I don't let it out here there's a strong chance if an explosion!

MrsNutella · 22/02/2015 18:10

WL I hope it was supposed to be a nice gesture. Still, it would irritate the hell out of me if my ILs did that besides the fact they're not great at cleaning but if, on the other hand, they offered to pay for a cleaner Hmm... I'd probably be quite happy. Even though logically it doesn't matter who does it.

We had a nice morning out at the airport. Have I said it's near us?you can go upstairs and watch planes taking off and landing. GrinThey have a lovely play area too. DS is still not 100% but he is much better. I hope he'll manage at nursery tomorrow. We all need a break! And I have the feeling he needs some more fun than he gets at home.

DeladionInch · 22/02/2015 18:23

She needs to hand back her key. Actually I'd be changing the locks in case she has a copy.

Gross invasion of privacy and massively disrespectful of your clearly stated wishes!!

SpottyTeacakes · 22/02/2015 18:40

Rant away WL. As kind as she thought she was being that's completely out of order!

WLmum · 22/02/2015 18:41

delad last time we accidentally borrowed and didn't return her key she somehow got another one cut! It wouldn't be so bad but she asked dm if I would be offended if she came and did some cleaning for me and I was explicit as in 'I know the house is a mess but I would appreciate finding it in the same state when I return' and she totally ignored me. I'm quite a private person and am already dealing with my house being a bit public with an extra person and lots of visitors etc. I actually just had a little cry. Being away was so nice not having to worry about anyone but us 5 and now it's all back with a vengeance.
Thanks ladies.

SpottyTeacakes · 22/02/2015 18:43

Thanks WL

Nutella that's so cool. They got rid of the viewing deck at Gatwick after all the terrorism scares which is a shame as I would do that with the dc. I remember going when I was young.

Back to school tomorrow Sad roll on easter...

MrsNutella · 22/02/2015 18:57

WL if she has asked and been told t"hanks but no thanks" then it is incredibly rude of her. She has shown no regard for your feelings or privacy. In your place I would be absolutely incandescent pissed off and very angry. I would be very tempted to repay in kind if I had the time Can you go and rearrange her kitchen when she goes out??

Is she one of those irritating peoplelike FIL who believe that they have your best interests at heart so it doesn't matter what you actually want or think or think or know, they know better. FIL makes my shit itch sorry Flowers

(Excuse the vulgar phrase, it's an old one someone I used to work with would say; and sometimes it just fits)

WLmum · 22/02/2015 20:10

nutella she is exactly that kind of person! Not in a horrible way, but she just can't stop herself from 'helping'. Anyway, I just had a text apology from her so this time she may have actually heard it. Unfortunately dhs db was at mils house when he spoke to her so will now think that I'm an ungrateful bitch.

halestone · 22/02/2015 20:27

WLThanks that must of been horrible. I would hate the idea of anyone goung through my home. And i bet Dbil doesn't think your ungrateful i bet hes just glad that she hadn't been through his house.

Nutella that sounds like a nice day. Manchester Airport has a pub nearby that you can go to, to watch the planes take off. I should really take H one day she loves planes and helicopters.

OP posts:
Maryland2013 · 22/02/2015 21:41

Hales we live near Manchester Airport. They have an airport runway park- you have to pay for parking but there's planes they can go inside and a big bus and lots of platforms to see the planes take off/ land. There's loads of space to run round and a cafe too. We went the other, DS loves it- even when we had to watch from the car cos it was chucking it down :)

halestone · 22/02/2015 23:20

Thank You for that tip Maryland, I think H would love it also.
