I'm sick of Tesco value wholemeal bread. The only dairy and soy free bread. So wondrous DH has bought me a bread maker. So I'm very excited about trips for spelt flour. I'm just getting over a really nasty throat bug, Jonas had it last week and Lil's had it for the last two days. I felt like utter shit! But Lil has been utterly done in by it - she's done very little but sleep, feed and be really grouchy. She's not hot - if anything she feels cool / clammy. She's been asleep since 11. Should I worry?

TheRealGracePoole · 05/02/2015 13:07

She is possibly just healing herself. Xx

Elizadoesdolittle · 05/02/2015 13:37

.

We actually have a breadmaker in the garage somewhere. I could never get it right though. Loved the smell of it cooking though. Yum.

yw I agree, she's probably just healing. Both girls, especially DD1, would just shut down and sleep for hours when poorly.

Well we haven't got out. A was asleep and E was playing happily so I thought I'd just leave them to it. I actually got to cross 3 chores off my long to do list and sorted out a big bag of hand me down clothes that my sister gave me for A. It is very rare that we don't go out but got to do school run later so it's not like they won't get any fresh air.

Passmethecrisps · 05/02/2015 14:24

I am waiting in a queue for a car wash behind an elderly man in a very large car which he is struggling to fit in. I thought it would be a quick job seeing as I am not at work. So far I have been here half an hour!

yw sleep is all I have wanted to do for the last few days. I think it is how some of us fix ourselves. Hope you are all better soon.

TheRealGracePoole · 05/02/2015 14:54

No jobs pass home and daytime TV please.

Thank you.

TheRealGracePoole · 05/02/2015 14:56

Not even jobs that don't require actually doing anything job like.

YellowWellies · 05/02/2015 14:59

Pass you heard Grace shooo away home with you.

Passmethecrisps · 05/02/2015 15:31

Am home now - honest!

GwenaelleLaGourmande · 05/02/2015 18:21

I am a big advocate for sleep as a healer. I think sleep is very underrated and most of us don't get enough.

I miss my 12 hour weekend sleepathons. Definitely when a baby or toddler is ill or recovering I let them sleep as much as they want, even if towards the end they skew up night and day a bit. So I wouldn't worry yw unless she is of course lethargic when awake. You too pass I hope you can get lots of shut-eye over the next week.

YellowWellies · 05/02/2015 20:42

Hmmm she's so chilled out she's always pretty lethargic - she's more of a nosy looker and finger twiddler than a kicker. But yes she's alert enough when awake.

GwenaelleLaGourmande · 05/02/2015 21:08

Ha ha. Ok so no more lethargic than usual then?

Kyz · 05/02/2015 21:10

Evening all :) Feels like this week has been the longest week ever, first time i've had chance to post so far! Ah well, least there's a bit for me to catch up on! For some reason Feb seems very appointment busy!

On Monday we went and took E to get his feet measured and to get some photos taken. For the first time ever his feet haven't grown, he is still in a size 9! Phew. We then had a private scan in the afternoon which was lovely :) Our little fellow was either asleep or yawning the whole time!

Tuesday E had his first ever hair cut - well, trim, and he was such a good boy, I was actually really shocked, he was beautifully behaved! Almost makes up for the sheer hell he put us through in Tesco at the weekend! Almost!

Yesterday I had a hospital appt re: my protein S deficiency. I think it could've gone worse! They have not decided that I am having a C-section or epidural yet, but I have blood tests at the beginning of march and if they show any anemia, that coupled with the protein s will mean we will be discussing one of the above. However, I am now considered high risk so will need monitoring/machines or whatnot during labour and will have (I think, she spoke so fast!) consultant led care. They are writing up a birthing care plan thing for me. I asked about a water birth, that is a no. They are letting me walk around between checks but she said I won't be going far as the checks are very regular. So I think i'll be quite restricted BUT at least so far not completely restricted! Looking on the bright side, and all that! My mum is quite worried, bless her. I am just ignoring it all for now and hoping the blood tests are ok early March :)

re: boobies - E has identified that he, daddy and Dexter dog all have a willy. The other dogs apparently do not (two of them do, but you can't see them as they have long hair) and he keeps asking people if they have a willy. It's only been family so far but i'm sure he'll branch out and start asking random members of the public soon enough!

How is your eye now msjj?

awww pass that's lovely! E has a current obsession with thomas the tank, and my baby sister E is hooked on Peter Pan. When Nanna gets tied up outside she comes running over with the saddest big blue eyes and goes 'pooor nanna, pooooooor nanna', it's ever so sweet!

belated happy birthday to your dd zamboni

lol bless her bp eric has a cars step he uses to brush his teeth, and he likes to use it to get in the bath and more recently, he takes it into the kitchen to reach the biscuit tin!

Stunt glad the party was a success, you are very brave!

well done on the word count gg!

I haven't used spelt flour before grace but the rats quite like spelt pasta. I haven't had it, but they like it! Maybe I should try some!

YW I have a bread maker DP bought me months before xmas and I still haven't ever used it Blush I probably ought to! Hope L is ok, bless her, i'm sure she's just focusing on getting better hence sleeping so much

sounds like a productive day Eliza :)

gg I don't think 12 hours would be enough sleep for me atm, i'm terribly tired lazy these days

Elizadoesdolittle · 05/02/2015 22:17

Yay a lovely mega kyz post. I didn't realise you needed close monitoring for your pregnancy and labour. You sound very up beat about it all.

I'd right more but am going to do what gg advocates and go to bed. I've not been going to bed early enough and i'm finding it increasingly difficult to get out of bed in the morning. Night all x

Zamboni · 05/02/2015 22:18

Epic posting kyz Grin

I find sleep hugely restorative. I usually use a few days of annual leave when everyone else is otherwise occupied to sleep.

I am very broody

BigPigLittlePig · 05/02/2015 22:23

Woweeee Kyz! Epic!

Dh has man flu (is actually quite under the weather so do feel bad for him) so is sleeping in dsds room - am looooving the double bed to myself (F currently sleeping well) and sleeping so soundly Grin Would love 12 hours!

F fell asleep on me on the sofa again, at 6.15, after a hyperactive meltdown. Carried her up after lots of snuggles ("sugglies") and haven't heard a peep.

Hope FamilyWellies feel better soon Thanks We make all our own bread now, lovely to come down to a fresh loaf in the morning.

Eliza - hope all is going well still, and wee A is still porking up?

Night all xx

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 05/02/2015 22:50

I found you all!! Will catch up soon hopefully.

YellowWellies · 05/02/2015 23:01

Lil is definitely on the mend after her snoozy feedathon recovery strategy today. Her being awake less than 4 hours today during daylight hours means the wee bugger is only just nodding off face down on a boob now! She's been cooing, gooing, hand chewing, giggling and doing cheesy grins at me since bath time (7pm) I even took the dog a walk for half an hour leaving her with Daddy, normally a sure fire recipe for a desperate BF to sleep the second I'm in the door - like she's not fed for a week but tonight I just got a squeal and a smile. I guess her 5 hour cluster feed / antibody heist this afternoon must have filled her. Let's see how exciting tonight is! Wink

GwenaelleLaGourmande · 06/02/2015 11:50

Good news yw :)

StuntNun · 06/02/2015 12:03

I found half spelt flour and half strong white bread flour made a lovely soft load. Rye flour is awesome too, it makes a dense dark bread that would be lovely dunked in soup if you're a classy gal like me and like to dunk!

YellowWellies · 06/02/2015 14:48

I'm starting simple and just baking a crusty white loaf (for bacon butties tomorrow) first. Jonas is going to 'help'. Buying bread flour and yeast in the supermarket did feel mucho smug though. Ha never envisaged having time or inclination to bake akshul bread whilst herding two tots!

TheRealGracePoole · 06/02/2015 19:21

Well. Spelt pancakes went down a treat with both boys for breakfast today.

Passmethecrisps · 06/02/2015 19:24

I am impressed with the bread making! I have a bread maker but ur is hit and miss.

Kyz · 06/02/2015 21:03

Hiya all :) Hope everyone has had a good day :) E has been really lovely today which is always nice, I love it when we have one of these days rather than one of the 'other' days (i'm sure you all know the sort I mean!)

eliza I figured I might as well be tbh - I'm not thrilled about any of it and have alot of questions for my next appt, but I am trying to see the positives of it all, if precautionary measures are taken then all should be well and that's better than not knowing and having something go wrong :) I am a bit daunted by the possibility of having to have the fragmin injections forever, but I won't know anything about that just yet, i'll have to wait for a few months post birth to get tested so that they can find my 'normal' protein S levels, as they are always naturally lower during pregnancy for everyone, they said.

bp one of the perks of DP working nights is that I have the bed to myself all week :) usually he gets in somewhere between 3 and 6, but I don't mind that, it's nice to have hold of him sometimes I suppose!

yay, hi izzy!!!

that's great yw glad she's seeming better :)

stunt I quite like rye bread in soup too :) and the rats LOVE it!

glad to hear the pancakes were a hit Grace :)

What is everyone up to over the weekend?

Elizadoesdolittle · 06/02/2015 22:04

kyz Gosh, I can imagine you aren't thrilled in the least but it is good you are being monitored. Did you have this with E too?

I had a very successful trip to bluewater today. I strapped the young monsters into the double buggy and managed to buy myself some boots, a pair of jeans and 3 tops. Have a feeling that the clothes will be too small but still. Oh and had lunch out too. Win.

Re weekend plans tomorrow we are going to a local garden centre to meet my friend who is due her 3rd DC next week. She has 2 boys the same ages as my girls. Then I'm back to taking DD1 to her swimming lessons which will be interesting as I'll have to take A with me. I don't need to get in the pool with her but I do need to change into my costume and sit on the side as there are no lifeguards at the pool. Brrrr. Then sunday some friends are over in the morning and DD1 has a party in the afternoon.

GwenaelleLaGourmande · 06/02/2015 22:15

Big hugs kyz
