Thanks captain, sadly only two hours sleep again. Please baby go back to 3/4 hr stints Sad

fedupofrainydays · 01/12/2014 03:33

cj I really think boys sleep less and feed more than girls. nothing to do with fact I have two boys!

Hope you are ok, it's so tiring!

Happytimes31 · 01/12/2014 03:37

I thought we were doing so well but seem to have gone backwards!

tattyblue · 01/12/2014 04:32

We're still on two hour wake ups, three at most. Even though in theory she sleeps a lot the frequency is just a complete destroyer. I feel like I've hit a brick wall face first tonight.

tattyblue · 01/12/2014 04:49

My actual eyeballs hurt.

ohthegoats · 01/12/2014 05:15

Well, I did something stupid today and put her to bed at 10 instead of her preferred 11, so that we could have some 'not totally knackered' time for shagging. Means she was awake an hour earlier for first feed and now seems to be up for the day. Shaky rattling things and rustly books aren't that much fun at 5am,

ExcitedCJ · 01/12/2014 05:57

Up again! Managed to snatch another 1 1/2hrs of sleep. I so tired I'm going to cry.
Fedup I think you have helped me to decide that mix feeding is the way forward. A bottle of formula at his bedtime might snatch me another hour or two.

ExcitedCJ · 01/12/2014 06:17

Also.... He is going to be swaddled until he is 16!! I tried sleeping bag tonight, DIDNT WORK!

Missus2ndwife · 01/12/2014 06:23

I also feel like we're going backwards! Last week I'm sure I had a couple 4hr/ 4.5hr stints and last night we had: 12am, 3am, 4.15am and 5.30. He is now wide awake whilst I clutch to my coffee.

Ps I know this is still better than a lot of you but there is no sign of sleeping through the night. Ever.

ExcitedCJ · 01/12/2014 06:51

Missus sending sleepy sympathy! DS is asleep but I now have to get up as DH has gone to work & DD is up & having breakfast. Need to get her ready for nursery school.
I am determined DS will sleep today when she is at nursery, I need a rest!

mrsb87 · 01/12/2014 07:30

Poor Dylan had an awful day yesterday. He was In so much pain from the reflux and colic. Nothing was soothing him other than my poor ravaged nipples! He was awake most of the day other than a few 10 minute sleeps. He eventually went to sleep at 8.30pm and didn't wake til 5am ! I think we all needed that sleep. He fed and went back to sleep and is still asleep now. Trouble is I've been up since 5 am, got up at 6 and now wondering what to do! I've sorted a fair bit of washing so far, not bad for 7:30!

Happytimes31 · 01/12/2014 07:40

Oh we are all having bad times, am up again, thought at least would get a couple of hours from 6. Trouble is I don't hold out much hope for daytime sleeping he likes to be awake nowadays

ExcitedCJ · 01/12/2014 08:32

Happy we have a similar story here but I am determined! This baby is going to have at least 2 decent sleeps today! When I managed to get DD into regular naps during the day life changed immeasurably.
I'm going for 10am nap & 2pm nap. Let's are how it goes. FX.

sazzlehopes · 01/12/2014 08:42

Morning all. Sorry to excited and happy and fedup too with crappy nights. I had two nights of that last week and really feel for you. Then he went back to a more normal sleep pattern of 4/5 hours then 3 then 3. Hope you guys do better
tonight. And that they sleep in the day for you.

Ned is 8 weeks old and still feeds every 3 hours (sometimes 2) unless he sleeps for longer at night which is rare. Is that loads? I can't remember with my ds1. Although I do have vague memories of him feeding a lot and not sleeping much!

We are off for his jabs today! Ahhhh how did it get to that stage so quickly?!!! And looking at schools for ds1....it's all going too fast for my liking.

Sazzle Heidi is 8 weeks old and she feeds every two hours, she rarely naps through the day, maybe the odd 10-15 minute catnap after feeds, I won't complain as she is currently sleeping well at night so that's maybe why she wants to bank so many feeds over a day.
Counting my blessings this morning, a work colleague had her full term baby boy on Friday and he died later that day, so devastated for her Sad She has two girls aged 5 and 3, I keep thinking how confused they'll be about it all :(

ExcitedCJ · 01/12/2014 09:33

Kirsti that is just dreadful news. Poor family.

Happytimes31 · 01/12/2014 09:45

Oh no that is so awful. Counting my blessings and now feeling a bit guilty that I minded about lack of sleep last night, should just be grateful that he is here ( and heavenly).

Grannyapple · 01/12/2014 10:19

Oh kirsti that's awful...poor family...

I've been feeling awful all w/e...kinda fluey...boobs feel fine so it's not mastitis...tho just been to the loo & noticed some coloured discharge when I wiped (sorry TMI)...think first period might be on its way...can't believe it...I'd only just stopped bleeding over a week ago...

fedupofrainydays · 01/12/2014 10:20

Oh what sad news kirsti Sad

ohthegoats · 01/12/2014 10:22

Oh no, that's awful. As with all news of ill or dying babies these days, that made me cry.

MundayCakes85 · 01/12/2014 10:26

Kirsti how awful for the whole family, we are all very lucky despite sleep deprivation. Just persuaded E to have a nap, with the help of a dummy! She slept pretty well last night after dream sleep fail Saturday Smile
Good luck with jabs 8 weekers Confused

ohthegoats · 01/12/2014 10:28

granny I thought I had mine too, mentioned it to the doctor at 6 week check and he said that post birth bleeding can do dribs and drabs for awhile, especially if you do a bit more exercise than normal. My day or so of spotting stopped.

ExcitedCJ · 01/12/2014 10:45

B is asleep in the hammock. Thank goodness his cough is starting to go & he can go back into hammock. I have just completed an AMAZON shop for stuff for expressing & bottle feeding. I have a Meleda Swing pump which I used with DD, needs put back in commission. Now time for a sleep for me too. :)

Grannyapple · 01/12/2014 11:02

Yeah I thought at first too goats but can now feel the lower back pain

tattyblue · 01/12/2014 11:36

Can I ask a question about baby gym type things? Ada is just getting to the point where I think she might enjoy one- and by "enjoy" I mean "lie in quietly for five sodding minutes so I can have a cup of tea". Are they with thinking about ? Are there any that are better than others, or arethey all much of a muchness? I don't want to spend a fortune and they're all so expensive, but I'm getting desperate for things that will entertain her that aren't my face, in movement, forever.
