Ahh! DS woke at 1:30am & had a half hearted suck or 2. Was too tired for a proper feed. Now up again at 4:30am for a feed. I'm very sleepy, thought the first wake up was actually 7am, obviously dreaming!!!!
Think I will wait for him to go proper nuts before picking him up, on some occasions I think he may have gone back to sleep.

mrsb87 · 30/11/2014 04:55

So 180ml of ebm later and he wanted boob!!!! This boy has got to grow up to be the size of a rugby player the way he's going! Que massive puke all over his grobag. So was once sleepy baby is now very awake baby because we've had to change him again.
Fingers crossed for you too badger

I rather stupidly didn't associate the thrush drops with being antibiotics! No idea what I thought they were....I blame sleep deprivation! Are there baby specific probiotics? Never bought anything like that before.

I've just had my first proper smile from DS!!!!!! Grin would prefer it to have been at a more sociable time of day but can't have everything!

Happytimes31 · 30/11/2014 06:39

Utterly knackered here too, no 3 hours stretches for me last night Sad amazing what a difference shorter sleeps can make. But at least he went down quickly after feeds during the night. Lots of green poos here too, even though he is doing long feeds during the day. Only the odd yellow one at the moment. He doesn't go for as long at night as goes to sleep on the job!

ExcitedCJ · 30/11/2014 08:30

Sore yes you can get baby specific probiotics. They are brilliant. I used them with DD & it helped sort her wee tummy out & really improved her reflux symptoms.
Just started with DS yesterday as he is on an antibiotic.
You either mix them with formula in their bottle or expressed breast milk. I'm useless at hand expressing so just did it with cool boiled water.

Sorehead · 30/11/2014 08:34

Thanks excited, I'll have a look for some tomorrow.

happy- sorry you didn't have a great night. Know what you mean about shorter stretches of sleep. Think it makes it worse that when you get woken up it's generally at the wrong point of the sleep cycle too!

Missus2ndwife · 30/11/2014 09:49

Is it the afternoon and can I have a nap yet?

tattyblue · 30/11/2014 10:15

My baby is still really sleepy- just drifting off all over the place through her usual active times. If she's eating okay, has a reasonable number of wet nappies, and is alert when she does wake up, is there a point at which I should worry? I'd quite like to enjoy it, but anxiety is getting in the way.

Happytimes31 · 30/11/2014 12:09

sore I think that might be it, especially bad as I had a four hour stretch the night before!

STIGZ · 30/11/2014 14:07

tatty i have a sleepy baby most of the time aswell, my mum said that i was the sleepiest baby ever, im still the same and need lots of sleep to function, mention it to hv but im sure lo will be fine and just requires lots of sleep! I was getting anxious aswell as my second dd loves her sleep so far and my first never slept at all, so i am rather shocked that they are both so diffrent.

FATEdestiny · 30/11/2014 15:31

DD slept pretty much all of Monday and Tuesday this week. Sometimes they have times like this, I suppose it's like 'recharging'

Missus2ndwife · 30/11/2014 20:08

Has no one sent a message since 15.31 today or is my mumsnet broken?

BadgerInBury · 30/11/2014 20:22

Quietest ever day on the thread? It's all going on over on the Facebook thread... Hope this means everyone is having a lovely Sunday afternoon / evening nap!

YellowWellies · 30/11/2014 20:43

We had our first family outing as a family of 4 to IKEA today. Poor DH had a hangover after going out to wet Lil's head last night. Extendable toddler bed bought, and a million drawer locks to stop the wee man from emptying his clothes across the room in the middle of the night. Argh next weekend he goes from cot to bed! Am so glad I have a newborn to help me get over my Sad at how fast they grow. Its poignant how when you're in the thick of the newborn days and it's so overwhelming and tiring (especially first time) you often wish for these days to pass, but cliché as it is, I wish I could stop time for a wee while at the moment as they're both at such a lovely age and I know I'll look round before I know it and they'll both be in school.

STIGZ · 30/11/2014 21:31

Ahh yellow i know what you mean about freezing time, i dont want my last baby to grow up for a whileSad i love newborn snuggles, and i know how quickly time passes when you are bringing up children, hope j's bed transition goes smoothly Grin

fedupofrainydays · 30/11/2014 21:47

Busy day for us here.. Jobs and party with my NCT from ds1. Can't believe I've known them all for three years and our babies are all so grown up. I still have vivid memories of walking in to that village hall to meet everyone for the first time and never thought we would all still be friends now!
Knackered though - off to bed to catch some zzzzzs before little sir wakes up demanding boob

fedupofrainydays · 30/11/2014 21:49

yellow me too. Although the newborn stage is very hard and last time I was wanting it to hurry up, this time I want it to slow down. My baby is almost 11 weeks. Too fast.

Happytimes31 · 30/11/2014 21:55

Been feeding every two hours today please can you all cross your fingers that he doesn't want to do that all night as well!

Captainmcgraw · 30/11/2014 22:08

Empathy for those having short stretches of sleep at night, it really is a killer. DS is doing longer stretches now at 10 weeks (we got close to 6 hours last night!) than DD did at 12 months. Am really feeling grateful for this right now although not so naive to think it may not change - please stay away 4 month sleep regression!

Daytimes such a killer though. I have cracked out the post c-section drugs today as my back and shoulder in so much pain. Shooting pains down arm now as well. I'm persevering with trying to put him down to sleep in the day but generally an epic fail and he goes back in the sling. It would be fine if I could just get a few days break - maybe by the time he's 2!?

Captainmcgraw · 30/11/2014 22:11

Fingers crossed for you Happy!

2nd time round I'm getting slightly mournful about him growing older but mainly I'm still wishing time to pass which I suppose is a bit sad really. The truth is I just don't enjoy the newborn stage (but perhaps as neither of mine have been very content newborns). Just want the screamy reflux days to be gone really. They are getting better though and when he isn't screaming he is so chilled out. We call him Jekyll and Hyde baby. Gives me hope for the future.

Missus2ndwife · 30/11/2014 22:49

I am a FTM and desperately holding onto my Bumboo staying a baby! As much as I'd love a decent night's sleep, I'm mindful he's growing so quickly!! Just tonight he was doing his usual trick of trying to crawl into my neck when I realised that when he rests his head on my chest his head no longer fits under my chin!

ExcitedCJ · 30/11/2014 22:55

Oh stop it you guys! You are making me sad. I love my little DS so much and have had the dread since he arrived about going back to work & him growing up too fast.
Live in the moment & cherish everyday. Be here now! I must practice this better!
Can someone send me the FB link again? I could never get it to work when preggers. Ta. X

ExcitedCJ · 01/12/2014 00:00

Wish me luck, I'm going to try & put my bub down for a sleep. He has only slept approx 2 hours today from 8am!!!! Not a great sleeper but today is taking the biscuit!

ExcitedCJ · 01/12/2014 03:02

I've had it! Baby is getting a bottle at 7pm! 2 hrs after getting him settled I'm up again! No sleep all day & now 2hrs! What is going on?
My DD was sleeping through the night 10 - 7 at this stage! Sad
