I really think you need to speak to your hv or gp splendide. Your ds sounds very similar to how my ds has been until this week. Completely inconsolable crying in the day, sleeping for 10-30minutes maximum in the day, constantly on the boob comfort feeding and being so exhausted by they evening they conk out. It might not be your supply that'd the issue here x

YellowWellies · 16/12/2014 18:41

Splendide no a bottle at lunchtime isn't a particularly bad time, your supply is more determined by night feeds.

Who was asking about a good light manoeuvrable buggy? Try out the nipper 360 - we have both the double and single nipper. The double is 12kg - that's lighter than most singles. I can push even the double one handed and it goes up kerbs super easy. Its great off road too. The double fitted on the train too today! Smile

splendide · 16/12/2014 18:50

I'm sorry mrsB, what was the issue with yours?

FATEdestiny · 16/12/2014 19:54

Re Buggies - I've had a Graco travel system for 10 years and four children, aside from about a year with a double. Still going strong. It might not be the trendiest of the buggies you can get, but I can vouch that it lasts well.

Splendide - I gave in and gave DD a bottle this afternoon because she just wouldn't calm down enough to breastfeed - so was getting progressively more hungry / tried / angry. This started at 2.30pm and by 6pm I gave in, swaddled and gave bottle. All is calm now and I have expressed as a means to not feel too bad about the bottle.

Shock Just done a terrible thing Shock

The Rotary Club do a big float with Santa on which drives all around the village - it's an annual tradition. The children all come running out in their PJs and get lolly pops, wave to Santa, parents put money in the charity buckets.

It's all lovely. DD(10) spotted him out of the window. I stalled - baby has been screaming all afternoon and only just settled. Don't want to move her. What do I do? Faff Faff, not sure, all confused...

By the time I made a decision (after listening to all the children pleading) the float was already turning the corner of our road. We ran out of the door, about 20 houses down the road and round the corner. Waved, cheered, got lollies, gave money and ran home. About 10 minutes.

I left baby at home sleeping Shock

She was still sleeping when we got home, but still. I have never, ever done anything like that before and now I feel terrible with the what ifs.

Fate Your DD and my DS are exactly the same age, I think... If it helps, this evening DH and I left him sleeping in his carry cot while we went outside to bugger about with a car seat for 10 minutes. He, like your DD, was fine and hadn't burned the house down or suffocated or vomited or tipped the cot over or switched the TV to a porn channel. Smile

tattyblue · 16/12/2014 20:38

One if the best parts of my day is sitting upstairs listening to the boyfriend talk to the baby while he baths her downstairs. So nice.

Kirstipops · 16/12/2014 21:00

Aww Tatty, sweet! Well I am downstairs with H and the cat, DH went to bed right after dinner cos he's tired. Cheers love, I didn't want any adult conversation today anyway Hmm

wondermoose13 · 16/12/2014 21:22

jeanne we also had an incident with the clippers :s only very tiny but it killed me!
He has such sharp nails and keeps scratching his face and ears
sleep chart v helpful but still no idea how to get the bugger to sleep in the day! 20mins max, on me, chewing away on my nipple!
Also went back to "breastfeeding guru's" group today and she was no bloody use at all! Basically ignored me ib favour of a newborn and gave no suggestions at all :( booo :(

tattyblue · 16/12/2014 21:29

kirsti I think I'd kill him if he tried to do that.

Kirstipops · 16/12/2014 21:37

Yeah is it understandable then that I'm in a huff? Can never tell sometimes if I'm just being a hormonal nag...

wondermoose13 · 16/12/2014 21:47

kirsti tonight i handed ds to dh as soon as he walked in the door and i go "i need to get changed first im all sweaty from the walk home" so a dig that i had the car today to get to bf group but also ive been hot and sweaty from pushing him round in his pram, and about 10mins before dh got home i got massively thrown up on so if anyone needed to get changed (and a friggin shower!!) It was me!

YellowWellies · 16/12/2014 21:59

Kirsti I can't remember which female wit defined nagging as "repetition of unpalatable truths" but its true. I'd be cross too. You too Moose. Wine Wine Wine Wine

FATEdestiny · 16/12/2014 22:05

Gah @ rubbish ending of The Missing. Was anyone else watching?

fedupofrainydays · 16/12/2014 22:08

fate I've left ds2 onnthe bouncer with ds1 nearby downstairs whilst I've had a 5 min shower... Swear that's worse than actually leaving the house for 10 mins!

fedupofrainydays · 16/12/2014 22:13

splendide if you try the bottle and it calms him then maybe there is a supply issue but if it doesn't then there are probably other things he's uncomfy with so I wokld talk to gp or hv. If he doesn't sleep you will go completely nuts so it's good to get some help soon.

MundayCakes85 · 16/12/2014 22:27

Kirsti I know how you feel. I left a sleeping, happy baby to jump in the bath. The water was still running when in huffed DH wanting a dummy. Erm look for it yourself? Said he was pissed off he never gets happy baby time. Prob coz he's always tired/ grumpy? Not sure what to suggest.

wondermoose13 · 17/12/2014 00:01

Urgh babymoose has been on the boob (screaming/fighting) since 8pm! Ive been shushing him since 1030 and hes only just drifted off :(
For the past week hes fallen asleep around 10pm, really hope this isnt the start of omeprazole insomnia! Hes only had 2 doses..
Oh and mid boob rage dh announces hes tired! Babymoose slept for 7 hrs last night!! And probably wont ever do that again and hes complaining? I swear hes trying to wind me up on purpose tonight :s

wondermoose13 · 17/12/2014 00:04

Noooo babymoose awake :(

MundayCakes85 · 17/12/2014 05:34

Quiet on here tonight, did baby moose get to sleep eventually? My LO seems to think 5am feed/ nappy change is time for a good old chat with Mum! Hope she goes back to sleep Hmm

splendide · 17/12/2014 05:59

Morning all! I'm going to see the HV today so I'll see if I can get to the bottom of this.

How should I put it to them do you think? I mean yesterday he hardly cried at all but only because he was on my boob all day. From about 1 to around 10 when the poor boy crashed out exhausted and slept for 7 hours. Any removal from boob led to crying almost right away (with the exception of a few 10 min smiley sessions) so that could be because he's still hungry/ building my supply I guess? Or could he he's in pain so needs to comfort suck?

splendide · 17/12/2014 06:01

Sorry meant to add that the reason I think it might be a supply issue is that he's not gaining very fast. Surely this level of feeding on working boobs would lead to massive weight gain?

fatpony · 17/12/2014 07:36

How old is he splendide?

mrsb87 · 17/12/2014 07:46

I would write down everything that's happening. The constant crying unless feeding, not sleeping etc... don't downplay anything and tell them EVERYTHING.
Dylan has reflux and we're suspecting a mild allergy to cows milk now too. We're off to the gp today to see what they say

splendide · 17/12/2014 07:51

He's 7.5 weeks.
