Hello to post-ttc-after-mc and/or pg-after-mc grads out there.
It has been weeks since I promised I would put a new grads thread up, but finally am in front of a pc (with a snoozing 4 week old DS on my lap), so here I am. Never quite felt up to joining the regular antenatal threads, so am a bit nervous about joining a postnatal one so late in the game.
Am hoping to hear more good news from the pregnant after MC thread very soon (am still lurking a bit there) - gwlondon being the most recent grad (well done you brave lady if you're reading this). Hope that alb and fedup are also doing well, as well as previous grads.
Am slowly settling into life with 2 DC here, is very tough trying to balance the needs of a toddler and a new baby but so so fantastic to see the pair of them together, even if DD does try to beat her baby brother up most days.

I will read back when I get a mo (probably during nights feeds), but wanted to pop in to say hello. My history goes: mc in 2010, DD 2011, mc in 2012, DS born 7th March 2015. Despite this being DC2 I am feeling completely clueless! DS is so different to DD. She fed anf fed, but was a poor sleeper initially. So far DS is not feeding weĺl and just wants to sleep. Hope you are all well x

tannyLoo · 09/03/2015 19:02

Here I am! Bertrum Lee (Bertie to his friends) was born on Saturday after a 4 hr labour and birth in the pool. Now we're struggling with those early days of feeding and some jaundice, I feel like I've been hit by a bus, but wonderfully happy to have made it.

Silver and holly both had theirs too this last week, so hopefully they'll be by too.

tannyLoo · 09/03/2015 19:04

Holly, how funny that we both posted at the same time!

Babytinx11 · 11/03/2015 01:30

Congratulations holly and tanny :)

Currently a bit of a sleep deprived mess lacey is being referred to the dietician amount other things she is having a bit of a pants time of it. She is so good though and other than only being able to sleep upright (so currently laying on my chest while match sticks keep my eyes open) she barely makes a fuss.

Any suggestions on how to help he sleep upright other than on me?

pgchimp · 11/03/2015 12:44

tinx sorry to hear that. there is the books under one end of the crib/ Moses basket trick if just an incline will help. if not, then I think there are baby swings and baby hammocks which keep their top halves more upright if it is a reflux thing. I should say I have not had to try any of these things so only referring second hand. good luck and hope you get some sleep. Thanks

Babytinx11 · 23/03/2015 23:25

Well finally made progress with lacey she is now on neocate gaviscon and renitidine after being rushed into hospital twice on the weekend. Mainly which has made me really angry down to the health visitor telling us to take her off the lactose free milk the gp told us to give her. It turns out she has a total milk intolerance as well as reflux but touch wood she seems to be getting there now :)

Babytinx11 · 28/03/2015 17:45

Well the doctor fucked up royally excuse my language I just need to vent lacey is in HDU at the hospital because they wouldn't listen about her cough now she can't feed and is struggling to breathe i am so angry 4 days of zero sleep hasn't helped that. Just left DH with her and DS is with my mum so I can try and sleep but I have been away an hour and I am pulling my hair out ??

HollyBen · 28/03/2015 17:59

Hi baby so sorry to hear what your are going through. It sounds very stressful so vent away. I will be thinking of you. Please keep us updated xx

Babytinx11 · 28/03/2015 18:09

Thank you holly I will I just want her better now Sad

MrsGiraffe12 · 29/03/2015 23:29

baby how horribly stressful for you, I hope Lacey is better soon xx

As for us, Olivia goes in next week for her surgery. I'm so scared I cant reay think straight. It's the thought of her having a general anasthetic that scares me more than anything, she needs this op or she may never walk / have a major limp etc.

Urgh, the challenges of being a parent never end :-(

Babytinx11 · 31/03/2015 20:39

Hope everything goes well for Olivia Mrs g.

Lacey is still in she is out of HDU for now but under close monitoring to see if she copes. They think it could possibly be whooping cough all her other tests are clear but she is still very poorly. Just praying she is better soon.

pgchimp · 01/04/2015 21:02

oh tinx and mrsg it sounds like you are going through the ringer. lots of hugs and Thanks .

My ds is cow's milk protein allergic (although not as severely as yours) and it took ages to get the diagnosis. the doctors kept sending me home with "it is normal". in our case it was actually the HV the helped sort it out.

Babytinx11 · 03/04/2015 17:52

Well we have lacey home she is still not well but such a tough little madam she has done amazingly well still have tests to have done and things but she is doing fab [smil

How is Olivia mrsg?

pg how old is your little one I know it's a little way off but I am wondering how you deal with weaning when they can't have milk/milk products Hmm

MrsGiraffe12 · 04/04/2015 20:09

Olivia is doing well thankyou. She has a hot pink spica cast bless her heart, and doesn't seem remotely phased by any of it :-)

Babytinx11 · 04/04/2015 20:12

Oh love her it's amazing the things they take in their stride glad she is doing well Smile

MrsGiraffe12 · 05/04/2015 14:39

I think I'm more bothered than her. She sleeps on her tummy normally (I put her on her back, she just rolls that way) so is a tad crabby at bed time as she has to lay on her back but other than that she's her usual sunny self x

pgchimp · 05/04/2015 22:20

So glad to hear your little ones are doing better.

my Ds is nearly 10 months. Weaning has actually been fine. obviously can't give them things like yogurt but other things like baby rice and porridge I just make up with his formula. Quite a lot of the shop bought baby food has milk in it but you can find enough that doesn't. we are lucky that our ds eats nearly everything we put in front of him.

MrsGiraffe12 · 09/04/2015 20:24

And now I've got the sickness and shits bug, so I've been sent home from hospital, can't even be with her. It's an hour and 45 mins away :-(

Babytinx11 · 11/04/2015 21:48

Oh now mrsg that really sucks Sad

MrsGiraffe12 · 11/04/2015 21:59

She comes home tomorrow, but all I've done since Thursday is cry ?? I miss her terribly. I know why they have to do it but it's crap all the same ??.

How's everyone else and their LOs getting on? xx

pgchimp · 14/04/2015 08:34

mrsg I hope you are all feeling better all at home together.

I go back to work in 2 weeks and am feeling quite stressed about it. there don't seem to be any easy answers once you have a lo!

MrsGiraffe12 · 14/04/2015 20:20

Much better pg thanks, though am very tired as she's waking regularly at night again, I think she's hot in the cast

I'm back to work in 3 weeks and dreading it :-(

Alb1 · 04/05/2015 13:32

Hiya, sorry iv not been on here in ages! I got married mid April so iv been so hectic! How is everyone doing? mrsg it sounds like Olivia is very brave, how's she doing now?

How is everyone else doing? I'm back to work in 3 weeks but only part time, can't express how much I'm dreading it!

MrsGiraffe12 · 05/05/2015 05:36

Alb congratulations on getting married, how exciting!

Olivia is great thanks, coping amazingly and is bum shuffling in her cast :-)

I'm back to work today. I can't believe all my time off is over, I'm so not ready to leave my baby :-(

Cuppachaplz · 06/05/2015 19:18

Still doing well, although we are inundated with appointments; physio, portage, SALT, OT, SN HV and consultants.
