Just wrote a long message on the old thread only to have it not post because we'd filled it.

We really ought to do less chatting and more sleeping Wink

book BrewCakeWineFlowers. You deserve them all.

I hope the alarm is fixed soon tarka. I know what you mean about not being able to get back to sleep.

Glad sleep was better nature and toby. Olbas oil is great!

The washing the bath makes me laugh too puggle but it is disgusting! He does feel very proud though. Today he is trying to put on hairbands and talking on the phone.

DH made a roaming call to me to prepare for a presentation and I think it cost more than €200. Aargh! I was trying to sort out a trip to the uk and france next spring but not looking so likely now!

Grey skies over the nile today...but it looks nice in abu dhabi!

Can you tell i am bored? Grin Taking bets on whether N will smash an antique vase or the standard lamp first.

Just got home and realised I don't have my front door keys doh! Guess I'll peruse mn until Dh gets back then!

alteredimages · 27/11/2014 17:41

Oh no nature. That's rubbish! I hope O isn't with you and you don't have long to wait.

Naturegirl82 · 27/11/2014 18:37

Dh was picking O up from the inlaws so only 2 mins up the road thankfully. Not sure where my keys are though! Oops!

BandontheFun · 28/11/2014 14:47

Hey everyone. lost track of the old thread and been back at work and start really early so any free time is spent napping, the title freaks me out a bit can't belive the babies are almost 1, where has the year went? Babies are walking it's amazing! Can everyone's babies stand without holding on?
Sorry to all you who are having tough nights, h has been waking a couple of times in the night although has random times of sleeping through, she just chooses not to.
Taking notes of all your advise, still giving H a bottle when she wakes she nods off again straight after, so loathed to stop it.

FelixFelix · 28/11/2014 14:50

Hi band! Good to hear from you. S doesn't even stand/pull herself up. She goes on one knee with the other foot on the floor but that's about it. I thought she'd be doing it by now really!

BandontheFun · 28/11/2014 15:02

Hi Felix, H does that to, she has stopped falling on her face which is good news. Congratulations on the new house Smile
I must say I should have enjoyed the lay on the floor, doing nothing stage, way more that I did, this running after them thing is exhausting.

Naturegirl82 · 28/11/2014 15:49

Wish I'd had a longer lay on the floor period. O has been on the move for 5 months now. Sounds like a stealth boast but it's really not!

TobyLerone · 28/11/2014 15:56

Hi, band :)

M doesn't really stand without holding on, but she does pull herself up. I don't think she'll be walking any time soon.

OP posts:
BandontheFun · 28/11/2014 16:32

Nature it must be hard, although it really is amazing what O can do. I'm in no rush for h to start walking, she has been crawling for the last 4months. Can't leave the room for two seconds now without coming in and finding her climbing in something or eating carpet fluff.

Feel like all I'm doing is picking her up and moving her somewhere less dangerous, She has found the plug sockets now, they really should make them higher off the ground.

H can pull herself up and move around the furniture not standing on her own yet though.

Been up since 4am this morning and going out tonight with friends. What was I thinking? Hopefully the second wind kicks in. Sleeps for the weak.

Naturegirl82 · 28/11/2014 21:00

She is amazing and I'm really proud of her, but she is a little bundle of energy that just does not stop! Her favourite game at the moment is trying to sneak into the kitchen to have a bath in the dog's water bowl! She absolutely soaks herself if she gets the chance! Grin

Poor O, I can hear her coughing away upstairs. How are all the other poorly babies?

TobyLerone · 28/11/2014 21:16

M's cold seems to be clearing up a bit. She's still struggling to breathe when she feeds, to the point where I have been putting Snuffle Babe on the side of my boob when I feed her. It seems to be helping.

Hi band Smile Hope you had a good night out.

Glad M is a bit better toby. N seems to be less phlegmy but is coughing more. I am a bit fed up, it has been almost a month now!

Baths in the dog's water bowl! Grin This made me laugh nature. You are a hero in my eyes, O sounds amazing but I am struggling with N, have no FT job and he has changed his mind about walking, so I think you are great!

Yesterday we went out with BIL to take DD to the cinema. We were going to see Penguins of Madagascar, but they were still downloading the film and hadn't managed to do it yet. That's weird, right? Anyone know if digital prints are now distributed like that? It is an officially registered well known cinema here run by the Egyptian Film and TV Union, so I was a bit Hmm.

We ended up seeing an Egyptian film instead which was a tongue in cheek reworking of Night at the Museum where Aladdin is trying to escape the museum to meet up with a drunk and high Mickey Mouse at Disneyworld to score some girls and Hitler is trying to take over the world. I am assuming Disney's lawyers are unaware of the film's existence Grin. DD fell asleep before Mickey started swearing luckily, but I bribed N with a biscuit when he wanted to crawl about. I didn't notice til the lights went up that he had smeared it all over my dress!

BookTart · 29/11/2014 09:05

That film sounds ace altered! I used to date a projectionist, but it was back in the days before digital films so I can't help you with that. I saw parts of a lot of films though, so there was some benefit to dating the twunt.

P is still very poorly. She was having trouble breathing this morning, and sleep is almost impossible despite snuffle babe, olbas oil, and a disgusting calpol vapouriser plug in. I feel terrible for her, but I don't think there is much more I can do to help Sad. DH is trying for her first nap now, but it doesn't sound like it is going brilliantly...

alteredimages · 29/11/2014 09:41

I used to live with a projectionist (and several projectors Smile) but again, before it went digital. Not sure how they do it now. The film was pretty awesome, but not one for kids as my space cadet BIL had asserted.

Sorry P is still so ill book. That sounds miserable. Here they swear my giving babies infusions of anise for colds and coughs and sore tummies and pretty much everything. I am not sure if it helps because it tastes minging and neither of mine will go near it. N is happy enough to chomp on soap, but draws a line at herbal teas. Warm liquids generally might be an idea though?

TobyLerone · 29/11/2014 12:02

M was up coughing loads in the night. Poor babies :(

We're at Stratford Westfield. We've just got here and it doesn't seem too manic, but we're sitting down waiting for M to wake up because she's facing outwards in the sling and I can't imagine it would be very comfortable for her to be asleep like that if I were walking around.

Naturegirl82 · 29/11/2014 18:06

altered that film sounds bizarre!

book sorry P is still poorly. O is too, she's lost her voice a bit as well so sounds croaky which is the cutest but breaks your heart when she cries.

toby hope the shopping was ok. We went to Liverpool very early this morning to miss all the queues and it was lovely and quiet.

Dh has bought O the loveliest things for Christmas, some ugg boats (a little big at the moment but won't be long before they fit) and a rocking horse. I'm so excited for Christmas now.

I'm off out on my netball Xmas do tonight so Dh is on night duty. Hoping to drink lots of wine Smile

BookTart · 29/11/2014 19:18

Have a great night out nature!

DH is making P a present - it is a wooden box with buttons, and when you press the buttons it makes lots of noises from In the Night Garden. It is ace, and very sweet of him, but I can imagine it driving me around the bend quite quickly!

I know she's ill and I should be nicer, but now she's in bed can I just say STOP BLOODY WHINING!

That's better! Smile

Bambooshoots14 · 29/11/2014 21:09

Just checking in

Another Ill baby here. Got called home early from work thurs and fri. How can he be ill do much?!

TobyLerone · 29/11/2014 21:25

Shopping was fine. V busy, of course, but M was an absolute angel. She charmed everyone and was so good all day. We got loads bought, too.

Hope you have a good night, nature.

Hope P and H are feeling better soon, too. I'm about to.put M to bed. We're running very late tonight. Hope she has a better night with the coughing as we've an early start tomorrow. DS has a rugby match the best part of an hour away.

I'm struggling to keep up with this thread (or life in general!) as DH is away and L still doesn't sleep. Been sat crying at how unfair it seems that my BIL, who is surrounded by family, has a baby that slept through the night at 2 months, whereas I have literally no one within 150 miles, and on a good night she wakes every 1.5-2 hours. I haven't slept properly in ages, the house is a state, I'm 2 weeks behind on my uni course, and I've been awake for hours. Feeling very sorry for myself!

MerryPops · 30/11/2014 04:57

Hoping all the poorly babies are doing ok tonight. A has avoided a cold so far but he starts nursery 2 half days a week from next week so I am expecting that to change quickly!

The house is asleep but I am awake. Same last night. I need the loo but A is only sleeping lightly from the sound of it, his room backs on to the bathroom and our bedroom door handle is really squeaky! I may still be on Mn at 7am holding it.

I went in to town briefly yesterday and got irritated almost instantly, fortunately the bulk of my shopping has been done online. I am very much a tablet on the sofa kind of girl.

Anyway it's no good, the loo beckons. Ninja mummy activated!

MerryPops · 30/11/2014 05:06

Wow Mrs didn't expect to be cross posting at this time of the night. My post feels very glib now. That sounds really tough. When is Dh back? I can only offer unmumsnetty hugs and I hope you can feel caught up somehow, more with uni than the house, which isn't as important as everything else. Sounds like you have a lot on. I am useless with advice but you have my support and Brew Cake Flowers whichever works best.
