Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
UniSarah · 08/11/2006 18:19

LL- she'll be fine, you'll be fine, hope you have a good book for teh train, or maybe you can sleep?
I left boy on saturday for his first long day( 13hr) with daddy and although I took the breast pump I could bearly express anything when I tried. releived teh pressure slightly but thats all. when I got home at 10pm boy was fast asleep so I expressed lots then. guess I just didn;t feel comfy doing it out ( in teh lobby of the ladies loo at the village hall, not ideal, but no one interupted).
hes STIL signing milk all over trhe place... suspect its a bit babbleish, or hes trying it out for "want" and then I have to guess what he wants. At this time of day food is a good guess so I'll have to stop soon and go warm up some tomato, garlic, mushroom and salami with noodles- hes loves it! and dh and I eat it regularly , its so nice now he can deal with some lumps and can have what we had yesterday.

Frizbe · 08/11/2006 22:01

Mmmm Uni that sounds nice I may have to try it
Caddy I agree with Lilkel, sending you {{{{Hugs}}}
Hi Munz [waves!] its a mare now they're getting active isn't it....at least we don't have any pets at the mo, so we haven't the horror of small person eating their food
I highly recommend infant nurofen for teeth, don't forget you can cross the two tho, makes for a better nights sleep, calpol at bed then nurofen at 1st waking.....I don't recommend drugging your kids all the time, but the odd few nights in a row when they're teething badly does no harm at all.
LL, she's screaming at dh now! her spots are starting to scab over, but she's just part woken itchy......dd2's fault, she had a mipe in her sleep with her teeth, enough to wake dd1 thru our thin walls......oh joys eh! just think in another 15 years I'll be sitting on the computer whittering as to their whereabouts at this time of night, rather than the fact they won't sleep!
Oooh if your up for a meet, Tictac, is also from lancs on feb thread and is up for one too?

laundrylover · 09/11/2006 16:51

hello wonderwomen, which of course we all are.

well yesterday was good, I enjoyed going to london and Kiah was fine of course. 2 out of my 4 clients didn't bother to turn up, which i found very rude but it did mean i got to meet my mate for a quick lunch instead. i get paid whatever but it's a waste of resources when people don't show....anyway i got on the train and hid at the back in a gloomy seat to express when a woman came and sat opposite. turned out she had just been giving a talk about safe storage of ebm and has been a bfing councillor for 20 years!! so i expressed away, we chatted for 2 hours and then we gave her a lift home from the station as she lived a few miles from us!!

uni, i only expressed 5 ounces all day but with an hour and half guzzling through the night i think we all know when this little tyke gets her pint a day. how was Ed at bedtime with no booby mummy?

Friz/Astro - yes lets meet up and with Tictac too - when and where????

UniSarah · 09/11/2006 17:17

LL- Boy does Ok at bedtime with out a breast feed on an occasional basis, I think hes been asked to do it 4 times so far, all in last 2 months. Dh makes sure hes had a BIG tea with lots of sloppy sweet rice made with ebm and ebm in his cup to drink. then after bath offers him ebm in cup again but boy has mostly refused at that point ( he did take some on sunday, but not much and mostly dribbled it out again). he will then sleep a normal chunk of time anywhere from 4 hrs to 8. when he wakes after a daddy bedtime he does get a mum feed in the middle of teh night, otherwise we have dropped night feeds.
most mornings I express 100ml+ ,the evening after my long day away i expressed about 250ml! while I was out only about 60ml.

Frizbe · 09/11/2006 19:54

Not sure LL, where is best for you/tictac/Astro, as Astro knows the places to go least well and you guys are furthest away!
Hi Uni and everyone else, gona do the accounts now zzzzz

laundrylover · 09/11/2006 20:19

Uni, I am mighty impressed at your expressing and dropping of nightfeeds, also a little!

Friz, I can travel anywhere up to an hour and am good at finding my way to new places as do it all the time for work. Chatsworth is fine again tho I guess if the weather is bad the playground wouldn't hold the same appeal....Whereabouts is Tictac coming from?

Frizbe · 09/11/2006 22:55

LL, She's in Horwich!

laundrylover · 10/11/2006 08:49

OK well she is quite far north but the Yorkshire Sculpture Park would be a good one - it's just off the M1 so is that easy for you southerners to get to? Trouble is that it needs a nice day again but the toddlers would love it. Does Tictac have more than one LO?

Frizbe · 10/11/2006 10:09

Nope she's only got the one, I'm up for sculpture park, tis nice there , Astro would that be ok for you, its up the M1?? if its crabby we could do Meadowhall!!

munz · 10/11/2006 10:53

hey all, jsut catching a quiock 10 min MN time! lol.

lil - how's your DS now on his tummy? J's lots better now, I think it was certian foods he had trouble with - we've stopped giving him weetabix and also potatoe based dinners they seemed to agrivate him no end. he's still sickyu at times but is loads better. (althou he's one of the older march babies -well feb! lol)

uni - impressed at you expressing so much! doubt i'd get a drop out now! lol. what's the sweet rice, that sounds nice. how are u getting on signing i'm looking to do with with J but not sure we've left it too late??

lol@ drugging the kids friz! lol. touch wood he's settled right down, and actually is wanting a lot of sleep, not that i'm moaning as last week he was a nightmare screaming all the time.

feeding wise, boy has 3 main meals, 2 snacks (with milk i'm a bad mummy! lol) and 2 boobs moring/night, I'd guess he has around 12 oz of formula and the 2 boobs, his last boob's at 6.45 pm, and he doens't have another till 5am (earliest if I want him to go back to sleep agian!) lol. failng that it's 7am, not sure he's actually taking any milk thou cos he seems to be comfort suckaling, either that or my milk's really reduced now - eitehr way was gonna stop at 9 months (been saying that since 6 months thou! ) during the night if he does wake up i've been giving him water - touch wood he's been good and going from 7-5am (ealiest) althou when he's off his solids I do give him extra milk if he wakes, which I suppose defeats the point! lol.

anyhow we've found the words dadada and mamama! lol. thankfully he's finally griping the idea of 'no' well me doing a bad impression of a game show wrong answer noise! lol. and will come away doens't always work thou but he know's i'm sure cos he'll stop look smile then carry on lol. anyhow best get off - he's just woken up! lol.

munz · 10/11/2006 11:00

ooh and he's also walkin with him push along thingy - my cupboards are no longer safe thanks to dad showing him how to open the doors lol. 2 weeks and he's 9 months got issues with DH thou over no of kids/gap I just can't thinkthat one more child and i'll not be PG anymore DH wants pairs, I want 4 and he's said no (well I wanted 6 and we comprimised on 4)

Frizbe · 10/11/2006 16:10

'ere Munz you'll not be saying that when you've got two plus you get afterpains with the 2nd plus kids, my poor old bowels gave me a horrible night of trouble pinging back into place even oncall MW was getting worried, but luckily it all calmed down after lots of drugs, phew no rushing back to hospital emergencies.......
Whilst I do miss being pregnant, and I reckon I could have another one, we're sticking with our two girls and dh;s son, if we do have any more it will be a happy accident or adoption

at J walking with his walker, mind you I caught dd2 trying to stand up from sitting today on her own, couldn't quite do it tho she's cruising like a trouper, but can't manage the walker yet, its too fast for her!

LL and Astro, we appear to have 3 takers from the Feb thread for Bretton Sculpture Park, so Astro if that's good for you shall we sort a date?

gothicmama · 10/11/2006 18:05

Hi all

just popped in hope you are all ok ah how fab they are crusing gothicbot keeps trying but can;t manage it yet but he is in to everything. still no sign of his tooth coming through so don't know what is happenning there. Working is still pants but quality time is fab take care all

Marne · 10/11/2006 18:23

We have 3 teeth here and one grumpy baby. She also stood up holding on to the chair today and seems to be banging into evrything. GP has put her on a simple diet due to pooing problem, shes not aloud any meat, fish and eggs. She's on a diet of baby rice and yoghurt, back to the GP on tuesday for more tests. Evrything just seems to go straight through her but she looks healthy and is gaining weight.

Hope you are all well x

UniSarah · 10/11/2006 18:51

WOW at all teh walking/cruising going on. boy is getting better at standing hanging onto things hes bum shuffling forwards slowly and crawling backwards fast.
Expressing- I had a bit of a breakthrough when I started expressing one boob while feeding boy on teh other at same time. the let down relex makes it much easier and faster, so now getting plenty of milk out in 5 min s while boy has his breakfast guzzle. I started doing this when we dropped teh night feed and I was wakig engorged.. so I guess its kept my morning supply high. 1st few days boy tried to play with teh pump, now he ignores it.
dropping night feeds- the 1st few nights were hard, dh did all teh rocking and cuddling boy back to sleep tho he did sleep thro on night 2 which to my mind told me he was capable now of doing with out the milk. hes slept sooo much better since going into own room and dropping feeds, also coincided with him eating a larger meal at tea time. we still have dreadfull nights sometimes with boy yelling for hours, but they are getting less frequent.
boy done good- last night for 1st time he went to sleep in cot on his own at 7.30ish and stayed asleep (AFAIK) till I woke him at 8.15am- HURRAH.
Hi to gothic and munz and other occasional posters- nice to hear from you again.

Astrophe · 10/11/2006 21:18

Meet up sounds good. How long will it take from Derby do you reckon? Thursdays are best for me, Mondays are ok too, and Tues sort of ok. Not FRi or Wed please! And not the 27th (monday) as we are away!

Am lurking and reading all your news, just being very strict and limiting my time. I know that to many MN/email hours does not help with the pnd - just makes me feel crap and guilty. BUt I do love hearing how you all are.

My lad is also cruising and crawling, and stood on his own for about 3 second tody, before sitting down and looking startled! No teeth yet!

WE are also doing 3 boob feeds and 3 meals a day now, with water or cup of formula in between. I'm so thrilled he is taking a cup well now - it takes the pressure off a bit. I'm leaving him with friends, and dd with other friends on saturday in a few weeks so DH and I will have a day Christmas shopping in Bakewell or one of those sweet towns. I can't wait (although I'm sure I will miss then desperately and will think about them all day long )

Controlled settling seems to be working (not counting my chickens though). He slept last night from 7pm until 8am!!!! The weird thing is that although we have been 'doing' CS for about a week, he has only actualy put himself to sleep a handful of times. The other times we have given up after many hours and patted him to sleep, or I have accidently patted him to sleep, or I have fed him to sleep. Hmmmm. Perhaps he is just ready now, and just needs a little encouragment?

Astrophe · 10/11/2006 21:19

LL, was it Spain you went to with BMIbaby? We are thinking of Malaga in January...

laundrylover · 11/11/2006 11:02

yes we flew to Malaga, but I'm sure they can't lose everybody's car seats.

So Yorkshire Sculpture Park it is then....for me Mon, Tues and Fridays are good to bring both girls and Weds and Thurs would be just Kiah. I'm training on 22/23rd Nov but otherwise work is flexible.....

Hello, to all who popped by.

Very of your superbabies....big annoucement.....Kiah has started putting her hands down from sitting and leaning forward!!!! Go girl go.

Frizbe · 11/11/2006 15:55

Hi all, nice to see Gothic and Marne, well done on the teeth!
Uni I used to do that when expressing it really helps doesn't it
LL/Astro, Mon/Tue would be just dd2 for me, the rest of the week its all 3 of us so I guess its name a date time, I'll let you guys pick a date as LL you have work to organise around right??

Astrophe · 12/11/2006 17:29

LL, whats Malaga like? Is it awfully touristy? We want to go somewhere pretty and relaxing - doesn't need to be much to do, but just not tacky and ugly!

Hows Monday the 4th for meet up?
or Thursday the 7th? Those dates would be good for me - thurs is best. Others?

Astrophe · 12/11/2006 17:31

Anyone else's bubs not want a milk feed after breakfast? DS doesn't, which means he seems to be on only 2 feeds a day now. It doesn't seem enough, so maybe I should feed him before breakfast? But then he wont eat his breakfast of course! Any thoughts?

UniSarah · 12/11/2006 18:55

astro- i give ds milk 1st thing, then wait till after I'm breakfasted and hes dressed (30mins later maybe) to give him half a weetabix ( with ebm). goes down Ok most days. If pushed for time i shovel in weetabix while hes nappyless sat on the floor. Try and keep up that milk intake, goodluck.

We went to the sea side today, boy had a ride in the backpack on daddy, he was looking around the whole time taking in the sights. the fell aslep in car on way home, so lots of naps today.. hope he sleeps.. traditionaly sunday night is his worst, just so dad starts the working week shattered. Another sleep through last night HURRAH.

Frizbe · 12/11/2006 20:42

Uni, hurrah for sleep thru! your ds does better than dd2 who just falls asleep in the backpack, lol

Astro, Monday 4th is good for me, as I have to take ss back to school two junctions up from the park, so can head there on the way back!! Depending on dh's start time at work that day I may have dd1 with me as well, if he's late he'll take her to nursery, but if he's not I'll have her with me I'd rather do mon than Thur, as the following Sat I'm off upto Yorks Moors for the weekend on a present drop run!

laundrylover · 12/11/2006 20:49

Monday 4th is good for me.... will have both girls too.
Just listening to Tilly calling her Daddy, Muumy mantra down the stairs. We came back from friends in Skipton and girls slept from 5-6pm. Even with a drawn out bath and bed she still won't go down....am doing good ignoring tho!!
We've found a house in our town that we are desperate for so we are going to try and raise enough finance to put a cash offer in (i.e. have lots of mortgage 'til we can sell this one), it's all so complicated!

Frizbe · 12/11/2006 21:06

LL could you afford to rent your current one? just thinking if you could stretch to mortgage for another one, you maybe able to rent yours out, nest eggs n all that???
4th good for us all then I can get there anytime after 9am, as that's when ss's school starts!!
