Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Frizbe · 08/01/2007 21:59

Crikey Uni, very busy weekend very fit n active tho congrats on being healthy! I used to like playing hockey lots at school, another wing attack position, no matter what I played netball etc, always wing attack!!

UniSarah · 08/01/2007 22:17

I'm a goalie, dh is a mid fielder . he didn't score yesterday but set up several goals. i set one up! from tehgoal line straight to young sam who shoved it in while their goalie wasn't expecting it.
Its looking more hopefull for manchester in March. MiL is working on boys B/d so his tea party will be the week before or after.

Frizbe · 08/01/2007 22:46

fab going from the goal Uni!
Hurrah for Mancs then, and good on MIL for once eh

laundrylover · 09/01/2007 14:40

Uni, give us a shout if you need a bed in March - we should at least meet for a drink but you are more than welcome to stay!

Looks like our house move will be going ahead as the finance is just about adding up so that we can keep this house and rent it out. Just means that we have absolutely no capital left for the renovations so will have to wait a while for lovely new kitchen and bathroom - but at least we will get our house!!

Frizbe · 09/01/2007 17:02

hurrah for house, hurrah for house at least somethings going right!!!
Toaster broke this am, so that should be it right, fence, dryer, toaster!

UniSarah · 09/01/2007 20:56

Oh indeed good on MiL this time, I was dancing a jig of joy in the corner when I heard DH repeat her avalibile saturdays.
Roughly where are in relation to Denton or Eccles LL? My geography round manchester is a VERY hazy.
Swimimng with boy went well. More giggles than teers so I'll be repeating teh experience next week. I'm starting to look for a childminder- visting 2 on thursday. just been offered a project that would be 1 or 2 mornings a week. Not an intersting project but a customer I'd like to stay in with for the future, and of course theres the money. Have meating with customer tomorrow to discuss money and facilites and timing. meeting will be right after baby yoga, who are renting a studio in teh same building. Hope boy is all chilled out and relaxed for it.

Happpy New Year!

MN has not been loading for me since just before Christmas... I am glad that it seems to have sorted itself out since there seems to be much to catch up on. It is probably just as well that it wouldn't cooperate since I would have done a fair bit of whingeing about PIL.

Their flight leaves in 2 hours and they are safely through security at the airport. It is so bitter-sweet because my children are really sad to live so far from them but 3 weeks of 24/7 is a long time even for them. On the whole it went better than I could ever have imagined but DH was very discouraged by the lack of enthusiasm his parents displayed about most things. Sad to think that they only get to see their grandchildren for a few weeks every 2 years since I saw my grandparents every week.

DD2 has been exposed to the chicken pox so I am expecting to see spots soon. she is feeling poorly today but then so is ds1 (fever opf 38.9) and he has already had them so who knows?

Friz: do I have your snail-mail address? Can I have it? Did munz or nemo give you mine?

Cadeauxmum · 10/01/2007 08:35

No time for a longer post but really wanted to let Chelle know that I am thinking of her today: I hope that all goes well at your scan.

laundrylover · 10/01/2007 10:59

Happy New Year Caddy and glad that the PIL visit was at least bearable!

Chelle, let us know how you get on.....

Friz, at your broken appliances - sorry!

Uni, we are only a few miles from Denton but not really sure where Eccles is! We are about 3 miles from the M60 though so most places are easily accessible.

skibump · 10/01/2007 14:46

Can I join in? Pretty new to MN

ds born in March last year, but not crawling yet (tho been trying since November)Is he really the last one?!

chellebelle · 10/01/2007 15:32

You are quite welcome to join skibump - it'll be great to have another March baby around. What date in March was your DS born? Not sure whether LL's or catj's LOs have cracked it yet so wouldn't worry too much This thread does go a bit quiet sometimes but the good thing about that is that if you don't get chance to come on here that much it doesn't take you long to catch up.

Cad - congratulations on not killing anyone. I don't think there's any way on earth that I would survive my in laws for 3 weeks without killing someone.

Friz - hopefully that's everything now - they do say it comes in 3 don't they.

LL - really pleased to hear your house move is going ahead.

Uni - the swimming sounds great - do you go to a class or just take him in the normal session? They do some classes at our local pool but not sure whether it would be a waste of money when I could just take her to the open sessions. Maybe I'll wait for classes until she's a bit older and can join in the songs etc.

Scan was fine thank you, although put the pregnancy back a week so am only officially 9 weeks and a day at the moment, they did say that they coudn't get a clear measurement so the date will probably change at my next scan. Have got the booking in appointment with midwife tomorrow and she'll book me in for my 12 week scan which should hopefully give a more accurate due date. Unfortunately it still hasn't changed the way I feel about the pregnancy. I'm not ready for another one yet but have no one to talk to about it cause DH and the rest of the family are over the moon so don't feel I can talk to them about it.

!!! rant alert !!!
Had an argument with DH today as he keeps making off the cuff comments (that he admitted are meant to hurt me) about me "sitting about doing nothing all day". I pointed out that the washing doesn't sort and wash itself, the kitchen doesn't clean itself and amazingly our 10month old doesn't look after herself. He justified it by saying that he is having a bad time with work at the moment and admitted that he was taking it out on me but I pointed out that he will never understand just how knackering the first 12 weeks of pregnancy are and that to be fair he's lucky he gets his dinner made for him every night and that his house stays relatively clean considering the little effort he puts in... grrrr. Men. they just doen't have a clue. The even more frustrating thing is that on the rare occasions when he has the kids on his own and I come in he always apologises cause he hasn't managed to get anything done - how on earth does he think I do it? and he's still going to expect everything to be done when there's another baby in the house. Sorry - rant over.

UniSarah · 10/01/2007 15:33

hello skibump.
Nice of you to join us, we're a small select crown on march 06. I'm sure your Lo isn;tthe last one crawling. Mine only really 2got it" on christmas eve so hes not exactly been at it long.

Boy has FINALLY gone to sleep. he fell asleep in the bike trailer before lunch but I had to wake him up to get him in teh house, then he wouldn't settle again. Now he seems to for teh 3rd time of trying him in his cot. I need to get on on sort out teh hockey tournament stats to send to the league.

Cadmum, hope alls back to resonable again soon.

Cadmum · 10/01/2007 15:34

Wekcome skibump! I'm not too sure about ho many other March babies are still not crawling. Enjoy it though as soon you ill not be able to sit down without worrying about what he is up to!

UniSarah · 10/01/2007 16:42

right- off to wake boy up. just looked on here to see what time he fell asleep and it over an hour ago. best get him up before his dad comes home as Dh is doing bedtime with out me tonight.

coppertop · 10/01/2007 21:03

Hi Skibump! No yours definitely isn't the last one to crawl. Dd has absolutely no interest in it and much prefers to get around by being carried. She hates being on her front and I have a suspicion that she will be one of those babies who learns to walk without ever crawling. Still no sign of any teeth either

Frizbe · 10/01/2007 23:07

crikey the threads busy

Welcome skibump

Chelle, great news about the scan, big boo at dh, they're so pants sometimes eh I'm forever reminding mine (particularly when he tries to play computer games for the day locked in a room by himself) that I don't get a day off, as always have the nippers yapping round my ankles for something....(each time I get more tempted just to leave for the morn/afternoon/day and see what's happened when I get back!)

Hi Caddy, are PIL from Ca too? glad for you they've gone then if they were getting a bit much, pox wasn't too bad here, so if she's got it, better now than later?
Munz was the noorty girl you can have mine, I'll mail it to Munz to pass on, as my luck got worse and the bloody belkin wireless thing has collapsed (the plug buzzing got worse and it died ) so am on dh's pc at the mo, without your addy, but have Munz's on here for somereason!

Great news about the work Uni, things are slowly picking up in a nice local way eh

Hi LL!

So anyone seen Rom, Astro or Munz recently, or anyone else for that matter?

Can you believe dd2 rejected my lovingly homemade savoury rice with chicken this evening? bah! had to roll out a jar maybe was too ricey for her? think may add gloopy cheese next time.....

Astrophe · 11/01/2007 11:30

hello hello...mad in our house...DH and I not on v good terms due to similar discussion as you Chelle (glad scan is all good for you ), DS has had a temp of up to 39.3 for the past 2 days, so I went to bed finally at 2.30 this am after doing fans, sponging, calpol, neurofen and endles breast feeds. Thankfully dd hasn't got it...yet!

DS took his first solo step on the 9th - his 10 month birthday! still a fair way from real walking though i'd say. Still no teeth here either! Did manage and exciting hurling of self out of the bath and onto his head though.

LL, great news re house!! Am thrilled for you.

Friz...not so thrilled for you re everything breaking!

Caddy, thrilled for your PILs that they got out alive! (well done you!)

Uni, sounds like your active family are all getting on famously - well done you super mummy!

Welcome skibump - where are you from? I'm from Australia but living in Derby with DH, DD (2.7) and DS (born 9th March)

must go...ds whinging and slobbering at my knee, dd merrily removing all the dust jackets from my cookbooks and spreading around the floor...yawn. (we so need an emoticon for yawn...hard believe there isn't one on a site full of tired mums!

laundrylover · 11/01/2007 14:06

So many posts!!!!
Welcome Skibump - Kiah is still not properly crawling but can move quite a distance somehow.

Friz, hope nothing else breaks!

Astro - hello again, you sound chipper despite DH being a bit crap!

Chelle, am in a bit of a rush but glad scan went well and sorry that you are having a bit of a shit time. I had to do a pregnancy test yesterday which was negative and I was relieved I must say. However a part of me thought it wouldn't be so bad in the long run but short term - erk. I do have an inkling of how you must be feeling so do feel free to whinge at any time. I find that floods of tears and snot usually get the message across to men!

Cadmum · 11/01/2007 14:51

Astrophe: We are in a similar state with fever in one child since Tuesday. Ho hum. Roll on the week-end so that DH is here to help a bit.

Thanks for all of the praise over not having killed anyone whilst PIL were here. I am also rather surprised how well it all went...

Friz: Thanks for trying to get me your address.

I am feeling really rotten this afternoon. Not too sure if it is the same bug as DS1 or simply stress but I feel ill. Shouldn't it be illegal for mothers to be sick? Off to put my head down now that DD1 is home and DD2 is asleep.

skibump · 11/01/2007 20:00

Hello all and thankyou for the warm welcome.

Quick intro - recently move to Coventry with dh and ds, born 4th March. No other children - yet. Also done the pg test, also -ve, and breathing sigh of relief. Feeling for you Chelle, I'm sure you'll be fine, but this seems like the place to unload those times you're not - and you must be exhausted

LL kwym about the shuffling - turn round and he's moved, how? He can also tip almost his body length to get something I thought was out of reach...and then push back to sitting where he was, but collapses if he tries to crawl Enjoying the freedom tbh, know it'll get much harder soon

Cadmum - respect re pil, I know mine would be dead if they stayed more than 3 days never mind 3 weeks - and it'd be dh doing the killing

Coppertop, yes ds hates being on his front too, I was regularly told off by HV for not making him, but he howled if I did...now just rolls on to his back and grins. Also no teeth yet
Lots of other posts...can't keep up. Nice to meet you all

Cadmum · 12/01/2007 12:26

Skibump: My dd was also born on the 4th (so was Friz's) She crawls really quickly with one knee and one foot (maybe because the wood floors are too slippery for two knees?) She has 4 teeth and I can see two more coming in on the bottom but she had none until the first week of December. All babies march to their own drummer. DD1 never crawled and our dss were crawling from an earlier age.

I am feeling horrible again today so it must be a bug. I must tackle some more of laundry mountain now that dd2 is finished her feed.

Hope you are all well.

chellebelle · 12/01/2007 14:21

Just about to pop out but had to post a quick one first. Ski bump - I'm in Cov too! I'm in Coundon, whereabouts are you?

Astro - didn't realise your DS was bron the same day as DD. Odd how most of the ones still here were all born on the same day as someone else!

Cad - sending you lots of get well hugs. Hope you feel better soon lovely!

Astrophe · 12/01/2007 15:51

HA, CADDY, MY DS is also a one foot one knee crawler...a friend said he looks as if he has a wooden leg!

fever has broken...relief!

UniSarah · 12/01/2007 20:46

woo, busy thread. Boy had a great time at mums and tots today. He sat on a bobby car and trundled round teh hall happily. Hes really got teh hang od scooting along and steering. Much amazement from other mums as before christmas he wasn't even crawling. Now I am having to be helicopter mum as hes got no idea about avoiding bigger kidssteping on him or running him over or getting off the bobby car with out landing on his face.
symapathy to all tose with feverish poxy babes, horrid isn;t it. I can firmly recomend socks on hands to stop scratching if they are spotty. look out for skin fallling off once the spots have gone down if they get swollen fingers or toes. grim but didn;t seem to bother boy.
Saw 2 childminders yesterday and wouldn't you know it the one I like best doen't have a vacency at teh mo coz hes under 1. Have friends lined up to take him to mums and tots with their boys for next two weeks so I can start working friday mornings anyway, add in wednesdays or thursdays once CM is sorted.

laundrylover · 12/01/2007 21:25

Evening all! Tea and sympathy for poorly types and tired types.

OMG I got my period!!! Explains why I felt so shit but just the opposite of being preggers eh? At least I get to join in all the Mooncup threads now and I did enjoy having 18 months off...

Went to Tots group today and there were lots of babies from my post natal group so we had a good catch up. Had to take Tilly to the docs first as her eczema is infected on her feet so needed some super strength cream. Hope it clears it up so that she can get some better quality sleep - the tantrums are rather wearing!
