Happy Christmas everyone!

LL - Dd arrived on the 20th in the end.

We braved town yesterday and it was nowhere near as bad as I'd been expecting. I think a lot of people must've stayed away thinking it would be awful - leaving it nice and relatively quiet for the rest of us. Hurray!

laundrylover · 24/12/2006 18:08

Merry Christmas all you supermums...ready to hit the Baileys yet????

I am just hiding upstairs printing off virtual presents for dp as our Arctic Monkey tickets haven't arived and his usb turntable is lost at the couriers - hey ho!

Have a good 'un....

WeFrizyouamerrychristmas · 24/12/2006 20:32

Argh, what a mare LL (yes I caved and found a few secs to pop on here, lol )
Hope you get his stuff soon! did ya see the USB table on the gadget show per chance or are you better at spotting stuff like that than me??

Merry Xmas to all and yes I did hit the bailies this afternoon, rude not to have an Xmas coffee with one or two in me thinks, hic!!

UniSarah · 25/12/2006 11:23

Happy christmas
Friz- thanks again for teh twinkle star. Boy is happy making lots of noise this morning.
LL- it was DH making a virtual pressie last night as the cricket tickets he has ordered on his mums behalf for his dad won;t be posted till July!
I did teh last wrapping and then stuffed my 1st stocking - quite a rite of passage I feel- with a glass of wine to hand of course.

We gave up on un PC christmases long ago, we're both net junkies.

WeFrizyouamerrychristmas · 27/12/2006 15:14

Merry Xmas to all, look I managed to stay off for 3 days!!!

Astrophe · 27/12/2006 22:47

Bet you were lurking Friz

WeFrizyouamerrychristmas · 28/12/2006 19:28

lol Astro, no really I had a whole 3 days off I can do it, I'm not an addict....
So how are we all today?
We had friends over for dinner and then watched IceAge2
Tomorrow ss goes back to his mums, so we're going to brave Meadowhall on the way back and try and get a new kettle and toaster and some new curtains for bedroom preferably ones that fit this time, one of these days we will stop living like students dh has also agreed to get some new clothes! mainly cause his jeans are starting to fall apart lets hope they hold out until we've finished shopping eh

Astrophe · 29/12/2006 15:42

Hope your shopping went well Friz. I hit the sales yesterday and found there wasn't much of anything (except shoppers!).

We are having a nice lazy week here - DH is off until 2nd, and we have nothing to do. Lovely. Some Aussie friends are arriving tonight and will stay for 5 days, so at least we will have good company on NYE even if we are staying at home!

WeFrizyouamerrychristmas · 29/12/2006 19:28

Astro Hurrah for Aussie friends hope you have a fabby New Year with them!
Had a pretty pants time at the sales actually, as dh got about 2 shops into it and threw the towel in me at the time, as we were going mainly for him! I did manage to get some new bedroom curtains from Next for £30, so not too bad a day tho.
Now annoyed with the car, as headlamp went the other day, so went and got a new bulb today, managed to fiddle about and change it (no mean feat on a citroen, with the wind, no hair tie and two kids in tow!) and the bloomin thing still isn't working...hurumph, will fiddle with it again tomorrow.

WeFrizyouamerrychristmas · 29/12/2006 20:13

oh forgot to add, also got dd1 a new car seat today £35 graco booster one, thought it was just black, but delight of delights, turned out pink and black upon opening box, from dd1, means dd2 can have her old car seat now and I can start working on dh to get a nice small foldy down buggy for summer

laundrylover · 30/12/2006 22:05

Just popping by before the year ends!

Well, we have had a mixed Xmas with tired carnky kids and parents and a poorly dp. We got to bed at 1am xmas eve and the both girls woke up 'til 3.30pm and it was awful. At one point Tilly parroted 'stupid f*king children' which will teach me not to be so angry! Only just got the stockings out as Tilly woke up!!

Anyway they loved their toys (Friz, the dolly is a big hit as are the flashcards when poured down the stairs) and then we did the usualfamily things for a week so the living room is still full of said toys....

Astro, have fun with the aussies - throw another prawn on the barbie and all that.

We are dumping the girls at my mum's and then going to the pub for NYE - hurrah!

HAPPY NEW YEAR, let's hope it's a good one....

WeFrizyouamerrychristmas · 30/12/2006 23:02

LL sounds like a good plan, but due to ours being already occupied we're staying in with the kids and a few friends (now that our planned escape to North Yorkshire has gone down the swanney.....) glad the kids liked the prezzies, know what you mean about the house, I tackled some of ours today in preperation for tomorrow.......now also have horrible ironing pile to tackle, bah......any news on a moving date for you yet??
Anyway if I don't get on tomorrow either Happy New Year to you all too!!

chellebelle · 02/01/2007 14:30

Happy Christmas and Happy New Year to all!! First chance I've had to log on in ages as DH has been around and being a computer boff the only time he's away from the pc is when I'm too knackered to go near it!

Thanks for all the well wishers. This is in fact number 3 as I already have DS who is 6 as well as DD. Things have been a bit up and down with the pregnancy so far with some bleeding over the weekend but all seems fine again now. Went to GP this morning and they have booked me in for a scan tomorrow just to make sure everything is ok.

I've been feeling so odd about this pregnancy. Started off being really gutted about it but then when I thought I was miscarrying on Saturday was in floods of tears and really upset. Then felt a small amount of relief which then felt really guilty about and now just feel like I'm in limbo. Will wait and see what happens when we've had the scan - I'm sure it'll change how I'm feeling all over again. Also have to keep in mind that i'm going to be a pregnant hormonal wreck anyway. Hey ho.

It's been fairly quiet on here over the festive period by the looks of it. Hope everyone had a good time.

Friz - how come the trip to Yorkshire is off? Was that with or without the kids?

Astro - have your Aussie friends gone home now? How did they like UK New Years compared to the Aussie one? Bet Aussie ones are much more fun!

Just realised it's not that long until our little ones are 1 now! This year seems to be flying by!

UniSarah · 02/01/2007 19:21

Happy new year- hope its goodun for all at least some of teh time.

I'm back- been away from home a few days and didn;t tink it was the done thing to log on from parents, we don't see much of them. Had a nice few days, took boy to see one of his greatgrannys. He was little charmer and very well behaved while at her house. then slept most of teh way to my parents house as welll. unsurprisingly we went on to have trouble getting him to go to sleep at bedtime in a strange place. Ho hum, some you win.
Boy has really got the hang of crawling over the last week. he can now amuse himself crawling about the hall while I'm washing up etc.

Off to ELC tomorrow to exchange a duplicate present! then going to spend his book tokens.

laundrylover · 02/01/2007 20:51

Uni, Kiah is hot on the boy's heels as she is nearly crawling at long last - very good at going backwards and can bumshuffle forwards too....the stairs gate is back on at the top!

Friz and Astro, hope you had a good NYE with your friends. I took advantage of dp being too ill to drink and got completely hammered! I found two very lovely gay men (possibly the only gays in our village) and ended up dancing to cheesy tunes 'til 2am - wahey! I was so drunk that I had 3 roll ups - I haven't had so much as a puff since I was pregnant first time!

Chelle, fingers crossed for your scan...sure it will be fine. Three kids!

Frizbe · 03/01/2007 15:12

Happy new year to all
Chelle hope all is well with scan
LL, glad you got drunk with the only gays in the village
Had a few glasses of wine with my friend here, but half of the evening was spent with us all holding up/back the fence, including our neighbours, as we cobbled it roughly back together after it blew down in a domino fashion and as there goes our holiday fund, dh and my dad are out there at the mo putting in concrete posts, wouldn't mind but the fence like the house is only 6 years old.........the wind snapped a fair few posts in half and boooooooooooo pants eh!
Anyone wanting to rent a 2 bedroomed house in Gamston notts, speak to me pronto!! as friends house that I look after is suddenly up for grabs (friend in Thailand jammy lady)

Oh and as this is very quick cause kids asleep and work to do!! dd2 has taken her 1st steps on her own argh!!!!

UniSarah · 03/01/2007 19:29

unlucky with the fence friz. I had to reglaze part of the greenhouse yesterday morning. And pick a large ammount of broken glass up fronm teh path and lawn. Boy took 2 naps yesterday which was nice of him as I had a mountain of stuff to do.

Frizbe · 04/01/2007 09:46

Uni soo wish dd2 would take two naps, she's trying to drop to one and is getting over tired as a result women eh!
Sorry to hear about the greenhouse hope you got all the glass tho, so hard to find the damn stuff when it goes tho....
Fence got sorted in the back garden yesterday, we have 3 new concrete trusses re inforcing the very back fence luckily managed to salvage all the fence panels themselves as it was the posts that went and two new concrete posts on another stretch of fence, the rest which we spent half of NYE holding up! is ok now that we have put in the concrete posts and fixed the end bit that went just the whole side of the house to do on another occasion now, but at least the back garden is safe again! hurrah!
Hope your all well and no one suffering from the great snots??

laundrylover · 04/01/2007 11:48

Hi Friz and Uni, sounds like you two nearly got blown to Oz!! My hanging baskets out the front have disappeared but it's thieving saddos not the wind to blame.

Kiah has the great snots and an awful cough - she is sleeping less then ever.....

Well, I just got 'sacked' from my only ongoing contract. It is partly my fault as TBH I have not got back into work mode this time around, complicated by lack of sleep, PND and my nanny going into a home. However I also should have asserted myself with this client and got more info so that I could do a better job. In one way I am not bothered as I really didn't click with the boss woman but I am to get dumped and also now have no work - erk!!! May be on MN a bit more.

UniSarah · 04/01/2007 14:43

Sympathy friz. Boy has one or 2 naps it varies daily. If nap 1 is short 45 mins- 1 hr I try to stick him back in bed for a 2nd mid afternoon. but some days nap 1 isn't till after lunch and some days nap 1 is nearly 2 hrs, so then he just has one.
hes crawling about sooo much now its no wonder hes tired 2 hours after he got up. Today hes been trying to explore power points and phone points. Lookig forward to mums and tots tomorrow so he can explore the hall, wonder how far he'll get before a toodler runs him over.

laundrylover · 05/01/2007 16:16

Uni, your boy sounds like he's really got the hang of crawling!! He'll have trendy knee holes in his jeans soon.

Well...our New Year just got a bit crappier today as our house sale has fallen through!! Back to our original plan of trying to raise finance to rent this one out.....

Frizbe · 07/01/2007 15:46

LL, oh Pants, that's so pants lets hope that someone else buys it very soon. Also very pants re the job, funny but I saw a funding job advertised the other day, thought of you and thought, oh but she's already got clients, doh!
Uni how did it go then?
Not been on for a few days as been doing real life a bit more, now that dh isn't working so much!! we've been swimming today, did family games all day yesterday, all quite shocking
to read about ggg's daughter......
Have just had to order a new tumble dryer as well (week of wet washing hanging around the house here then) as went out to get last load in from the dryer n its sopping wet (dh's mums old dryer circa 1980's) so that's knak'd then.......pants! more money down the plug hole......we're really going to be struggling again soon too LL....

laundrylover · 07/01/2007 20:55

Bad news on the dryer Friz - I'm a radiator girl myself.

The awful news about GGG's daughter has really helped put things into perspective for me - what do house sales and jobs really matter in the long run? We'll get by one way or another.

That said, if you see that funding job advertised again let me know, being a housewife is not for me!!!!

Frizbe · 08/01/2007 13:01

LL I'll let you know if I come across it again, trying to think where I saw it now...might have been on monster you know? worth a look? was under environmental I think???? It really does put things into perspective I agree
I need my dryer in winter I know they use lots of energy and so aren't that good, but when we have all of us in the house, that extra person is just too much for rad drying........
So done school run from hell today, dh took dd1 for her 1st proper day at pre school, but to her it'll just seem like nursery today and tomorrow, it'll be the shock on Wed/Thur and Fri when she goes back in every morning for her sessions! must ring tax credits and tell them.......
dd2 has snot, which is boooo as she's supposed to have her second new jab tomorrow.....see what the nurse says eh!

UniSarah · 08/01/2007 21:43

Well that was a busy w/end. Hockey tournament on saturday- sevreal players sleeping at our house over night and then a muni ride on sunday. I took Ed for a pushchair ride on the easy family trail while the others went and did something more interesting.
